    Excellent Facilities and Service

    This Accommodation was the final stop on our 3-night, 4-day summer trip through Okayama, Tottori, and Shimane, and it was truly a wonderful place to end our journey. Check-in was very courteous and smooth, and I was surprised—in a good way—that an attendant escorted us to our Room while explaining the building along the way, which is rare these days. They also carefully explained everything in the Room, and I was impressed by the traditional level of hospitality. The Room had great taste, and the open-air bath in the Room was free-flowing Onsen water. It was a bit hot, but adding some water quickly made it comfortable enough to enter, so we enjoyed it many times during our stay. With Rooms that have an open-air Onsen bath, insects often get into either the bath or the Room, but for some reason we had no such issues here and were comfortable throughout. Dinner was served in a private room; the attendant’s explanations were thorough, and everything tasted excellent. The final dish seemed especially delicious—my husband and son even asked for seconds. Breakfast was buffet-style. We went at a later time close to last order, but we were not rushed at all and could enjoy our meal comfortably until the end. We chose late check-out as well. Although there were hardly any other guests around at that time (at other Hotels with late check-out there are usually few staff members left and no send-off), they continued to assist us until departure—taking photos for us and seeing us off properly—which felt like outstanding service. In addition, there were foot reflexology massages as well as foot baths, hand baths, and even face baths. Our Plan also included lounge access—all of which we enjoyed. It is rare to find such a large Ryokan (Hotel) with excellent Facility offerings, ample staffing levels, great service, plus wonderful meals and Onsen. It really shows their dedication. We had a very satisfying stay. Thank you very much.

    Although there was a...

    Although there was an issue with the Room amenities, the staff handled it courteously. The service was excellent. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay and was very satisfied with the bath, meals, lounge, and more.

    The service was excellent.

    I completely forgot to request allergy accommodations at the time of my Reservation, but when I asked on the day—thinking it might be too late—they responded right away. It was truly a huge help. Also, when our schedule changed and we suddenly needed a pickup, they came immediately as well, for which I am sincerely grateful. Both the Room and the bath were excellent. And as many others have mentioned, the meals were outstanding. I also enjoyed the warm conversations with our attendant, and every dish was delicious—we were extremely satisfied. The grilled dish with their special grated daikon sauce was especially wonderful. The breakfast buffet layout also helped prevent crowding. I only wish we could have enjoyed more of the Accommodation! Next time, I’d like to plan our trip so we can stay a bit longer. Lastly, the Diamond member perk—the dashi set—was great. It made me glad I’ve continued using IKYU.

    A Relaxing Ryokan

    There were few foreign guests at the Ryokan, and it felt very refreshing. We had a Multiple Night Stay, and dinner was delicious every day—not only did the main dish change, but the entire menu lineup was completely different each night. However, breakfast was the same menu each day, which was disappointing, though the clam miso soup was very tasty. The renovated Room was comfortable, but it was a bit disappointing that only the toilet remained old-fashioned. Above all, what left the strongest impression was the thoughtfulness of the staff member who took care of our dinner service—it made me happy many times over. Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing you again someday... Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    The Ultimate Onsen

    The lobby was spacious, with an open feel and a lovely view of the garden. Many of the paintings in the art lounge are inspired by local scenery and are well worth seeing. We also enjoyed the tea setup in our Room. The Onsen was excellent, and my skin felt noticeably smoother afterward. Overall, the food was delicious, with rich, well-balanced dashi flavors throughout.

    This is not up to IKYU standards.

    I have been using IKYU for a long time. Without any mention of “casual” or similar, I assumed a certain standard. This Accommodation did not meet that standard. The Room smelled musty. Dinner quality was average, and the female staff member’s service felt pushy—she kept talking on her own even while I was speaking with my partner. When I asked about the origin of the ingredients, she could not answer. The breakfast time 안내 for the next day was inconsistent and confusing. In addition, the in-room refrigerator was empty, and drinking water was only available from a kettle. When I said I wanted a beer, I was told to go down to the first floor and buy one from a vending machine. Also, breakfast is buffet-only and very crowded in the morning. Although food is kept warm, it wasn’t actually hot, which was very disappointing. Doesn’t IKYU.com conduct regular checks?

    Simply wonderful.

    The Ryokan’s atmosphere, the garden, the Room we stayed in (Kita-no-Yakata Kissho, DX with an open-air Onsen bath), the cuisine, and the hospitality of all the staff—everything was simply outstanding. We had a truly wonderful time. Next time, we would like to stay during the autumn foliage season. Thank you very much.

    A well-appointed Accommodation with attentive hospitality

    From the moment we parked, all the staff greeted us warmly. At check-in, we were offered thoughtful services such as a cold towel and tea, and I was happy to find the attentive hospitality just as excellent as before. I previously had a foot massage here and it was wonderful, so I wanted to book it again, but it seems very popular and I couldn’t get a Reservation, which was disappointing. Next time, I’d like to make my Reservation early before staying.

    The best hospitality!

    My first stay in Tamatsukuri Onsen was exceptional. Not only the large public Onsen bath and the in-room Onsen, but also the Room facilities and overall environment, as well as the lounge, were all truly high level. What stood out most was the staff’s attentive hospitality. Interacting with the dinner staff was a real pleasure, and I thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious meal. Above all, I was impressed by the entire team’s strong commitment to service. This is a wonderful Accommodation I would love to visit again.

    We were completely satisfied with everything.

    I have stayed here several times before, and once again I was very satisfied with the relaxing Room. The Facility, amenities, free-flowing hot spring bath, meals, lounge, and service were all excellent. I was able to spend a very comfortable and restful time. Thank you very much.

    Everything was excellent!

    I don’t usually leave a Review, but it was so outstanding that I had to post! I’m a Diamond member who stays at Onsen Ryokan around Japan, and I have never seen a Ryokan as thoroughly attentive in every respect as Kasuien Minami. The Onsen, the meals, the cleanliness, and every staff member we encountered—all provided truly wonderful service and hospitality. At large Ryokan, there are usually a few curt staff members, but here everyone we met was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I truly believe the team at Kasuien Minami is a treasure of Japan! Also, both dinner and breakfast were excellent. It felt like they have a policy of not relying heavily on additives. (When traveling I often end up consuming lots of additives and it affects how I feel, so I was very grateful.) In any case, this is an amazing Ryokan. When I visit Shimane again, I will definitely return. Wishing you continued success—thank you very much!

    I often end up making last-minute Reservations, so it’s hard to book the Room I want. I’ve stayed here several times. As always, I was able to relax in the hot bath at my own pace and take time to recover from everyday fatigue—it’s pure bliss. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much to all the staff.

    I love Ago-dashi and have bought it several times as a souvenir, so I was very happy that the Diamond Member gift this time was Ago-dashi. This was my fifth stay, and I am satisfied no matter how many times I stay here. By the way, my family has made a Reservation for me before.

    When I travel solo t...

    When I travel solo to relax, it’s disappointing if a group is staying at the same Accommodation. Especially when it’s a tour group from China, they tend to be loud together, which I don’t like (just my personal opinion). This time, breakfast also seemed to be buffet-style, so I was worried—but I made a Reservation because I wanted to have Shimane Wagyu for dinner. However, at dinner I was shown about three menu options and told to choose. What? I Reserved specifying Wagyu! Also, when leaving and stepping out of the Accommodation entrance, there was a huge tour bus right in front. I had to go around it to get to my car... When making a Reservation, couldn’t you let guests know that a group will be staying?

    First Time at Tamatsukuri Onsen

    I used to live in the San’in region, but this was my first stay at Tamatsukuri Onsen, which I hadn’t visited back then. I was able to relax in the large, atmospheric bath, and several kinds of delicious tea were available in the lobby, making it a truly wonderful stay. The food was all delicious, and the attendant who served us was a great conversationalist with excellent hospitality. I would definitely like to visit again.

    An Accommodation you’ll want to stay at again

    I was amazed by how many staff members there were. Every staff member was kind and attentive, and I had a very comfortable stay. Dinner was served in a private room so we could relax, and the breakfast buffet offered many creative dishes—both were delicious. The Onsen had plenty of clean towels, and the hot water warmed me up nicely. The paintings and stylish furnishings throughout the property made it feel like an art museum. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Warm and attentive hospitality

    Despite being a fairly historic building, the Accommodation is clean and well maintained. Even the standard Rooms are spacious and relaxing. The breakfast and dinner are thoughtfully prepared and delicious. In particular, the breakfast buffet is appealing, with a wide variety of options that offer a unique twist. The Onsen baths are not large, but they are soothing and help you unwind. Above all, every staff member provides exceptionally courteous and attentive service.\n\nIt was an Accommodation I would gladly stay at again.

    I was very satisfied.

    From arrival to departure, we were extremely satisfied with the best service and hospitality we have ever experienced. Dinner was served in a private room, and with the careful explanations, every dish was delicious. Breakfast also offered a wide variety and was satisfying, but there were times when items such as bread and yogurt were not available, so we hope these can be provided more consistently. The coffee was from an automatic machine and wasn’t very good, but overall we were satisfied with the meals. We also used the lounge and enjoyed a relaxing time with alcohol and light snacks. We were very satisfied with the large public bath as well. If we visit Tamatsukuri Onsen again, we will definitely stay here again.

    This is our third consecutive stay, and we are still very satisfied.

    Once again, everything was more than satisfying. The open-air bath in the Room with free-flowing natural hot spring water was easy to adjust the temperature, very clean, and a pleasure to use. The shampoo and conditioner in the Room’s shower booth are also good. One disappointment was hearing that the elderly lady who used to serve rice at breakfast retired around last autumn, which was a shock. I used to make the trip from Mie to Tamatsukuri Onsen partly because I wanted to see her. Still, this is an Accommodation that is fully satisfying as an Onsen Ryokan.

    An Accommodation with Exceptional Hospitality

    My first stay at Kasuien was wonderful. From arrival to departure, all the staff greeted us with warm smiles and kind words that felt truly refined and thoughtful. The food was delicious, the Onsen was great, and the foot massager in the Room felt so good that I wanted to buy one. I chose a Plan with lounge access, but since we were full after meals, it might have been fine without it. Our rental car was slightly dirty with bird droppings, but when we checked out and left, it had been cleaned. I believe someone wiped it for us. I was deeply moved by this thoughtfulness. This is an Accommodation I will definitely visit again when I go to Shimane. Thank you very much.

    The service was excellent, and the Room was very comfortable. I would have been happy if there were a few more light, refreshing dishes. However, what impressed me most was the smooth bathwater in the in-room bath and the calming atmosphere—it was incredibly relaxing. I would definitely like to visit again.

    Baby-Friendly Accommodation

    I stayed with my 7-month-old grandchild, my daughter and her husband, and my son. It was my grandchild’s first long trip, so we were worried, but during meals they provided a high chair for baby food and then brought a simple baby cot so the baby could lie down afterward. Thanks to that, the adults were able to enjoy our meal at ease. The staff were very considerate in many ways, and we had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

    A wonderful Accommodation.

    We stayed here to celebrate my father’s and mother’s birthdays. From the time we made our Reservation, you were very attentive, and on the day of our stay they were able to relax and enjoy themselves throughout. My parents were truly delighted. Later, my parents sent me several photos of the two of them together. Since they rarely have a chance to take photos as a couple, I believe someone at the Accommodation kindly offered to take them. Thank you for helping them create such wonderful memories. We felt it was a fantastic Accommodation with thoughtful, attentive service. We would love to visit again next time with our whole family.

    We stayed here the night before our visit to Izumo Taisha Shrine.

    We stayed here as a couple, and the service was excellent in every way—an outstanding Ryokan. The meals were also delicious, and we were very satisfied. When we visit Shimane again, we would love to stay here.

    I’m glad I chose Minami.

    It was my first time visiting Tamatsukuri Onsen, so I wasn’t sure which Accommodation to choose, but I’m glad I stayed at Minami. We booked the Minami Premium Suite (70 m²), and it was very spacious and comfortable. On the IKYU site, the meal details were described only as “standard,” and since it is a Ryokan yet dinner was served at a restaurant rather than in-room, I felt a little uneasy at first. However, at Restaurant Sansuiso they prepared a private room for us, and we enjoyed a Japanese-Western kaiseki course featuring mainly Shimane ingredients. For the main dish, we could choose abalone or steak, and everything was delicious. The only reason I rated the Room 4 out of 5 is that the bed and pillow didn’t quite suit me. That said, it’s probably difficult to provide bedding that fits everyone perfectly.

    Will you see me off...?

    The Facility inside the property was very good, and the meals were satisfactory. However, I’m not sure if it was because of the rain, but the outdoor Shuttle Service was extremely curt, and none of the male staff even smiled. Both on arrival and departure, there was no sign of consideration. I probably won’t use it again. That’s all.
