The view from the reception area and the flowers displayed in the lobby are especially memorable.

The view from the reception area was wonderful, and it truly felt like a five-star Hotel. With a few improvements, I believe it could be even better. - Improve attention to cleanliness in small details After turndown service, a bookmark with a short message was placed on the bed. The message itself was lovely, but the bookmark looked reused and had stains on it. It was a thoughtful gesture, so this was a little disappointing. - Improve the breakfast menu The menu did not list the “Japanese set meal.” When I asked, it was available. It would be appreciated if it were listed on the menu from the start. - Clearly state complimentary spa hours After check-in, I was told that complimentary spa access is available from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. When I made my Reservation via IKYU, it only said “spa available.” It would be much clearer and more helpful if the complimentary hours were stated upfront, as access to the spa was one of my main reasons for choosing this Accommodation. - Improve internal communication I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time and was told at reception that check-in would be possible in 30 minutes. I waited at an on-site coffee shop, but ended up waiting over an hour. In that case, I would have preferred to go out instead of waiting. Closer information sharing between housekeeping and front desk may help ensure smoother service. - Request for double sinks Many recent five-star Hotels seem to offer double sinks. It also appeared there may be enough space around your vanity area to install two sinks. I understand this may not be easy to implement immediately, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could consider it in the future so two guests can use the bathroom without having to wait for each other. - Request an upgrade to an auto-opening/closing lid for TOTO Washlet toilets I understand this involves cost; however, more five-star Hotels now offer toilets with automatic lids, which is also beneficial from a hygiene perspective.

Without a doubt, the best Hotel.

Without a doubt, this is an outstanding Hotel in every respect—service, dining, location, and the Room. Perhaps due to the weak yen, it felt like the vast majority of guests were international, but it’s a Hotel I’d love to see more Japanese travelers enjoy as well. The breakfast at KESHIKI is also excellent, so I highly recommend choosing a Plan that includes breakfast.

I’ve never had a Hotel stay that made me think, “I don’t want to leave,” this much.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a gift of a hot towel and chocolates at check-in. Of course, the staff’s hospitality was also excellent. I had checked in advance that there was a gym and spa, but the gentle, convincing suggestion—“Your Accommodation Room is on the Mt. Fuji side, and the spa is on the Skytree side, so please feel free to use it”—led me to enjoy both. The Room décor was elegant and refined, and I was amazed they even provided binoculars (unfortunately, the weather was bad so I couldn’t use them). The amenities and drinks were more than sufficient, but when I learned there were several types of pillows available, I couldn’t resist requesting one. Not only are the facilities outstanding, but every single staff member—including those at the breakfast restaurant—provided attentive service; everything on the service side was flawless. Hats off to them. I’ve never had such a comfortable stay before; my companion and I kept saying “We don’t want to leave,” as we checked out.

We would love to stay here again.

This was my first stay in several years. I arrived a little early and checked in ahead of time, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Thanks to them, I had a wonderful time. I would definitely like to stay again. Next time, I hope to make a Reservation for the same Room I stayed in this time.

    World-class hospitality

The Room was wonderful, and the night view was as expected, but above all, the hospitality of the staff was truly outstanding, allowing us to enjoy a warm and luxurious time. It was a memorable stay.

    I felt refreshed.

I stayed with my pet. From the welcome drink and Room to the service and breakfast, I was able to truly relax and feel refreshed. The outstanding hospitality really impressed me. I would love to visit again.

The Room was very lovely, but the built-in body soap and shampoo were very inconvenient. They were fixed in a high position, and no matter how many times I pressed them, nothing came out... I couldn’t even wash my body in the bathtub. I was a bit shocked.

    It was a pleasure to...

It was a pleasure to stay with you again after some time. As always, the service from the moment we arrived at the valet was truly what you’d expect from Mandarin. We used both in-room dining and the bar, and had a very satisfying stay. On the other hand, signs of aging in the facilities were hard to ignore. Unfortunately, water leaked from the shower room and flooded all the way to the toilet area, so I hope this can be improved. Turndown service also felt simpler and more basic than before. We look forward to staying with you again soon. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for our anniversary. Although we couldn’t take advantage of the Diamond benefit early check-in, from the moment we arrived at the drop-off area, the staff’s thoughtful attention and friendly greetings were wonderful, making our stay truly pleasant. While relaxing in our Room, an anniversary cake was delivered as a surprise, and it made both of us feel very happy. I was a bit concerned about water leaking from the shower room, but that was the only issue. We often stay at high-end Hotels, but I felt the level of service here really stood out. We look forward to staying again someday.

Unfortunately it rained, but we were glad we could still see the Skytree at night. This is a wonderful Hotel with thoughtful attention to detail, such as refilling the water during turndown service. I love the feel of the loungewear and slippers; last time I even bought the loungewear and use it at home. The bathroom layout is a bit inconvenient to use, but it may not be an issue for overseas guests. If I have the chance, this is a Hotel I would happily stay at again and again. I’d also like to stay again when there’s a good-value Plan available.

    Birthday Celebration

We stayed here as a family to celebrate my spouse’s birthday. A wish we’d had for five years—to stay at the Hotel where I proposed—finally came true. I had completely forgotten that I mentioned it was a birthday, but we received many thoughtful touches and special services that made it a truly memorable celebration. Everyone in our family was very satisfied. Personally, I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet, which left a strong impression. We would love to stay again for future anniversaries and other special occasions.

    Hotel with a Great View

I chose Mandarin Oriental Tokyo for a special stay. I enjoyed the view from my Room, including Tokyo Skytree. However, I was not impressed with the staff’s service, including their consideration for guests’ privacy and their handling at breakfast. In particular, at breakfast there was no guidance or explanation—only being shown to a seat—so I was unsure what to do. I understand that many guests are international, but it seemed that many staff members at both Reception and the dining venue did not speak Japanese, which made me feel that this Hotel is not catering to Japanese guests.

    The front desk staff...

The front desk staff were very kind and gave us a warm welcome. The food was also excellent, and we could really feel the care put into selecting the ingredients. The music in the Room was pleasant, and the bedding felt wonderfully soft and comfortable. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and spotless. Thank you so much to the housekeeping team. Thanks to you, we made wonderful memories. One small downside was that the shower room has no door, so heat tended to escape.

The prices are top-tier, but the service is only two-star quality.

I stayed here to enjoy some time with my mom friends after giving birth, but the service was terrible. First, I left my luggage before check-in, including wine and prosciutto. I asked them to keep it refrigerated and place it in the Room in advance so it would be chilled in the fridge. However, when I entered the Room, my luggage had not arrived, and it had not been kept refrigerated. The prosciutto was delivered after being left at room temperature for a long time. The wine was not chilled either, so we couldn’t drink it right away. A bag with clothes and skincare also didn’t arrive until more than 30 minutes after we got to the Room. I had a spa Reservation and was looking forward to it, but we ended up running late because our luggage still hadn’t arrived. It ruined a lot of things. The spa temperature felt like a lukewarm pool—barely warm water. Maybe this is set for international guests, but as a Japanese guest I couldn’t relax much, and I didn’t feel it was worth the spa fee (about 8,500 yen). The massage costs around 40,000 yen for 60 minutes, but Olive Spa might actually be better. The amenities in the Room were very minimal—just a toothbrush and hairbrush. There was no toner or lotion. It wasn’t an issue since I brought my own, but given how expensive this place is, I expected more and was really surprised by how basic everything was. The night view was beautiful, and breakfast was very delicious.

This is far from a five-star experience.

I had never stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Tokyo before and was really looking forward to it, but it was disappointing. The reception area was crowded with no staff available to guide guests, so I had to wait. At check-in, they simply handed me the key—there was no explanation of the Room or any benefits. The Wi‑Fi wouldn’t connect, the body soap pump in the Room was broken, loungewear is not provided unless you ask, and there was no explanation about the deposit refund (30,000 yen is charged at first), etc. Overall, it felt like a Business Hotel level experience. Most guests were foreigners, and most staff were also foreigners—does that mean Japanese guests are not their priority? It felt like they lacked a spirit of hospitality. That said, the spa was excellent in every way—the Facility and therapists were both outstanding.

    I was very satisfied.

Thanks to the Hotel’s kindness, we were upgraded to a suite, which was absolutely wonderful! The service was excellent as well! However, one of the pickles in the Japanese set breakfast clearly tasted off, which was a bit disappointing. We would definitely stay again!

It had been more than ten years since my last visit, but it was just as wonderful as ever.

Right after arriving, the weeping cherry blossom display in the lobby was wonderful and instantly lifted my mood. The Room also had a calm atmosphere, and I was happy to be able to see Mt. Fuji. Although it has been 21 years since opening, it has been renovated along the way, so it didn’t feel old. After check-in, I had some light snacks at the lounge bar, and they were delicious. I had dinner at Sense and everything was excellent. I was seated by the window, so the night view was beautiful and I had a lovely time. Since it was my birthday month, I also received a celebratory dessert plate. At the entrance to the lounge bar before dinner—and again after dinner—they remembered my name, which surprised me. Even with so many guests, I was impressed by how well everything is operated. I also used the spa and had a wonderful stay. If there is an affordable Plan available, I would definitely like to visit again.

A Blissful Hotel Stay with Stunning Views

As a treat for myself, I stayed at my beloved Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. Spending a relaxing Hotel stay while taking in views that felt like a heavenly sanctuary was the perfect way to refresh. In the room, they had prepared a fruit plate with a message, Mandarin Oriental blend tea, and cereal cookies. Together with the chocolates I received at check-in, I savored each one carefully. For both dinner and breakfast, I used in-room dining and was able to enjoy my meal and drinks at a leisurely pace. Wanting to enjoy Valentine’s cake and chocolates with my drinks, I bought a heart-shaped cheesecake and heart-shaped chocolates from the gourmet shop on the first floor—it made for such a happy night. In the morning, I chose the Japanese set breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful tableware and the many carefully prepared dishes. The “Thank you always” message fruit plate became a wonderful memory—I took lots of photos after my meal. I also got to enjoy my favorite spa twice: once at night with sparkling city views, and again early in the morning at sunrise. I was also able to unwind in the in-room bathtub with hinoki bath salts. During magic hour at dusk and dawn—and while admiring the glittering night view—I felt truly grateful to be alive, filled with happiness and abundance. Thanks to all of your staff who supported me throughout my stay, it became an unforgettable 2-day/1-night experience right up until the very end. Thank you so much for an exceptionally happy Hotel stay where I could spend such precious time!

I have stayed here many times.

This was my favorite Hotel in Tokyo, but unfortunately, perhaps because there were fewer Japanese-speaking staff on duty that day, check-in took a long time and we had to wait. That had never happened before, so it was a bit disappointing.

I stayed here for my birthday.

I stayed at this Hotel to celebrate a birthday. When I messaged to pre-order a cake for an additional fee, they replied that last-minute orders were not possible, so they would prepare one for free instead. The outstanding hospitality you’d expect from a five-star Hotel—and the thoughtful way they made it feel effortless—was truly impressive. I also used the spa, and the sauna and jacuzzi with panoramic views over Tokyo were exhilarating. For the massage, we chose a course where my partner and I could be treated together, and I was amazed by how skilled the therapist was. We had such a wonderful time. The next day we had reserved the dim sum buffet at SENSE in the same Hotel, so we didn’t add breakfast, but the birthday cake plate prepared in our Room was delicious—so I’m sure breakfast must be great as well. With various gifts as part of my Diamond member benefits and a late check-out, I was able to enjoy my stay 120%.

It was my first time using this service.

This was my first time using this accommodation due to its convenient access for my plans nearby. The view of Tokyo Skytree and Mount Fuji from the lobby and room was beautiful, the breakfast was excellent, and I had a relaxing stay. However, during dinner at Keshiki, the attitude of a young female staff member who attended our table was very disappointing and ruined the atmosphere. When we asked for an explanation of the menu, she responded with a condescending expression and said it’s written as is. When we asked if our interpretation was incorrect, she reluctantly explained again in an annoyed manner. While enjoying white wine with plenty left in the glass, she abruptly asked what we would like next. Since we still had meat dishes coming up, I politely declined by saying we're fine for now; however, she took away the menu with an irritated look on her face. The breakfast staff at Keshiki were all very kind, which made this experience even more unfortunate. It left me feeling extremely uncomfortable during my first visit to this hotel and restaurant. That said, I really liked the hotel itself overall; next time—since I'll have children with me—I’ll likely opt for just accommodation and breakfast while exploring other dining options either within or outside of the hotel instead.

    It was a blissful moment.

Feeling utterly exhausted from the busyness of life and family concerns, I stumbled upon an incredible deal on IKYU.com and made a reservation for four days later. I managed to book the Corner King Room at Mandarin Oriental, which I had always dreamed of staying in. The pre-arrival phone service and slightly early check-in on the day were beyond perfect—truly impressive service that left me saying "as expected from Mandarin" multiple times. The room, with windows on two sides, was bright with stunning views. I enjoyed the luxury of gazing at both Tokyo Skytree and a waxing moon together. Thanks to the view bath, I indulged in several relaxing moments while admiring the city nightscape. After my bath, I found myself lounging in their perfectly thick yet lightweight bathrobe—it was so comfortable that I didn’t want to take it off! When it came time for bed, slipping into pajamas and lying down on sheets woven delicately with fine cotton threads felt like pure bliss—they were gentle against my skin and conformed beautifully to my body. The pass-through closet was another thoughtful touch; it allowed me to receive items like ice buckets or amenities without any awkwardness—a feature especially appreciated during solo stays as a woman. It reminded me of similar convenience at The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. Breakfast was served buffet-style at K’shiki with an impressive offering: you could order as many hot dishes as you liked! The Eggs Benedict (just one egg though) was so delicious that I reordered it immediately. The French toast stood out too—not your typical fluffy style but rather crispier with unique flavors I'd never encountered before. And let’s not forget the raspberry croissant—it wasn’t just visually appealing but also tasted divine. A minor disappointment came when tea ordered for after-meal arrived beforehand or when some hot dishes took longer than expected to be served. Thanks to IKYU.com’s guarantee of room use until 1 PM, I could finish some work after breakfast before checking out—a rare luxury for such a short stay! This hotel provided unparalleled satisfaction even for just one night—I’ll definitely return to that Corner King Room again; it's truly a power spot!

    Anniversary Hospitality

We stayed here for our anniversary. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and celebratory words. When we entered the room, there was a cake with a message card, which made us feel very special. We also used the spa and were able to refresh ourselves in such a pleasant space. Thank you very much!

    Regarding Front Desk Services

I made a Reservation at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo as I always wanted to stay there and had work in the area. However, the front desk service was not smooth. I requested my luggage to be sent to my Room while enjoying a drink service at the front desk, but when I arrived at my Room, it was completely dark, and my luggage had not been delivered yet, which surprised me. It took about 5 minutes for them to finally bring the luggage, which felt poorly organized. They mentioned that Diamond members could stay until 2 PM but then suddenly said it’s only allowed until 1 PM—I couldn’t understand what they meant by that.

    A Charming Space in Tokyo

After staying at this accommodation about 15 years ago, I stayed again in March and was reminded of how wonderful this hotel is. This was my third stay this year. Although I traveled alone this time instead of with two people, I was upgraded to a suite room and enjoyed an incredibly luxurious space while admiring the night view. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I couldn't stay until the last moment before check-out. The welcome service during check-in had limited seating, which was slightly inconvenient, but the staff member assisting me on both occasions was very pleasant. The breakfast remains one of my favorites among many hotels in Tokyo. I look forward to staying here again!

    Congratulations on your 20th anniversary!

Unparalleled comfort and peace of mind, delightful culinary experiences—stepping into the Hotel instantly envelops you in deep tranquility. I am always filled with gratitude for the warm smiles and hospitality of the staff who welcome us to this exceptional space. Thank you once again. The exquisitely delicious bird's nest superior soup, almond tea, the luxurious rolled omelet breakfast enjoyed leisurely through room service, and the ultimate Eggs Benedict paired with original tea while admiring breathtaking views—all moments spent at the Hotel were unforgettable bliss. Congratulations on your 20th anniversary! Although I couldn't experience it this time, I look forward to returning soon to enjoy Valmont treatments at your spa.

    Disappointing.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel has been my most frequently used accommodation in Tokyo, but I am disappointed. The accommodation plan was for a Skytree View, but upon entering the room, all I could see were Tokyo Station and Otemachi buildings. The front desk made no comment about the room being different from the plan. As a Diamond member, I inquired about late check-out availability and was told it was fully booked; however, checking on IKYU.com showed that rooms were indeed available. Regarding amenities, I assumed there would be a brush provided and did not bring one myself, but surprisingly there wasn’t any. Even during turndown service, it wasn’t replenished—perhaps their policy has changed? Previously, there was warm hospitality starting from the entrance on the first floor. On one occasion, they even addressed me by name before I introduced myself—it left quite an impression! In comparison to that experience, this time felt impersonal and lacked warmth. I don’t think I will stay here again.
