    The Onsen was excellent.

    The facility is spacious and has a sense of history, but it is well-maintained and clean. Meals were served in private rooms and were all very delicious, especially the fish, Hata. The Onsen was also spacious and comfortable. However, older guests might find the steps a bit challenging. With koi swimming and water flowing inside, strolling around the premises was enjoyable, offering great value for money.

    Meals for Solo Travelers

    After 40 years, I visited Misasa Onsen and stayed at this accommodation. The room was clean, the bath was excellent, and the staff were very pleasant. Since the dining area in the ryokan offers private rooms with course meals, I chose to have dinner in the onsen town instead. However, only one izakaya at the entrance of the street was open. A multiple night stay might be tough for solo travelers. Breakfast, however, was delicious and enjoyable.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I visited with the purpose of climbing to Nageiredo Hall at Mitokusan Sanbutsuji Temple. After more than two hours of hiking, I arrived at Mansuirou. I parked my car right in front of the entrance, and staff guided me to each location, so even as a first-time visitor, I had no trouble. The staff who carried my luggage from the lobby to the room also took care of dinner service and saw me off at the end. Dinner was served in a private room with chairs and tables, featuring a kaiseki meal full of local specialties. The dishes were served at perfect timing, with detailed explanations and polite answers to my questions, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely 1.5-hour meal. The food was both plentiful and delicious, leaving me completely satisfied. I chose a room with an open-air bath, so I didn’t use the public bath, but I thoroughly enjoyed bathing at my own pace both at night and in the morning.

    It was the best hospitality.

    We informed the accommodation in advance that this trip was to celebrate my husband's birthday. When we were served matcha as a welcome drink, the manager personally gave us a birthday card and even upgraded our room as a gift. This unexpected gesture made us very happy, and we truly appreciated the hospitality. The accommodation had a nostalgic Showa retro atmosphere, which felt very calming and perfect for us as an elderly couple. The quality of the hot spring water was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed both the large public bath and the private open-air bath in our room. The meals were delightful, featuring unique dishes like stone-grilled items and tsumire hot pot. The tempura was freshly fried, warm, and absolutely delicious. The staff provided exceptional service, with their warm and attentive hospitality, even seeing us off at checkout. It was truly the best experience. We would love to visit this accommodation again in a different season. Thank you for giving us such a memorable trip.

    Excellent hot spring quality

    This was our fourth visit to Misasa Onsen, but our first stay at Bansuiro Ryokan. Due to a late reservation, we couldn't choose the room grade and stayed in a standard room. While it felt a bit old, the traditional onsen accommodation atmosphere was charming, and there were no particular inconveniences. The meals offered an overwhelming variety of dishes, though it was disappointing that they were served in a large banquet hall instead of the dining area we had expected. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The hospitality was excellent; even the young staff members showed great dedication, which made for a pleasant experience. We usually travel by car, but this time we used the train and appreciated being picked up from Kurayoshi Station with shuttle service—it was incredibly helpful. The heartfelt service from both the driver and front desk staff made this trip truly memorable. We would love to visit this ryokan again!

    The splendid open-air bath features natural flowing hot spring water.

    The Room was lovely, and we were very satisfied. However, it was the day of the town festival, so things seemed a bit hectic, which led to some service miscommunications being a downside.

    With my sister, just the two of us.

    It was my first time visiting Misasa Onsen. I heard that the water at this accommodation has excellent health benefits and helps boost immunity. The onsen water was truly amazing. There were many international guests, and it seemed like the rules for using the onsen were not widely understood, but everything else was wonderful. After returning home, I was surprised to learn from my mother that this is the same accommodation my parents stayed at during their honeymoon! My father has passed away, but next time I plan to bring my mother here.

    Delight in Summer Crabs

    The room used was the best room in this accommodation. This time, I stayed because I was drawn to the dinner menu. The featured dishes such as snow crab, Tottori beef tongue, sukiyaki, and Kinumusume rice were all delicious. Especially the stone-grilled beef tongue was so good that it made me appreciate how tasty tongue can be for the first time. The addition of soft-shelled turtle hot pot also made for a satisfying meal. The semi-open-air bath attached to the room had a circular tub large enough to stretch out and soak up to your shoulders at just the right temperature, providing a relaxing experience. However, there were some disappointments with the spacious bedroom/living area design. Despite being a corner room with great views symbolized by two large windows, a large TV placed directly in front blocked the scenery. Additionally, while comfortable chairs are important for relaxation, these wooden chairs had backs that were too hard for prolonged sitting. Although I was satisfied with both bed and pillows, these chairs were a downside—especially since there wasn’t even an ottoman available. It was also inconvenient that the shower room and open-air bath weren’t connected; you had to go through the dressing area each time. The amenities didn’t match what one would expect from this top-tier room either. Lastly, compared to my previous two visits where I felt special attention during my stay, this time lacked such attentiveness—leaving me feeling somewhat neglected. Perhaps due to staff shortages? Even ordering drinks during meals via tablet felt impersonal. Given how excellent my past experiences here have been until now—it’s disappointing overall but hopefully helpful feedback nonetheless!

    The stay exceeded expectations!

    We had a very comfortable stay. Despite arriving before the check-in time, we were kindly allowed to use the parking lot. At check-in, we were welcomed with matcha welcome drinks. Both dinner and breakfast exceeded our expectations in taste. The Room and public bath were clean. However, we did notice a slight odor in the bathroom of the Room. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying experience. Thank you for providing us with such a delightful and enriching time!

    I was told that there is no Reservation.

    I arrived at the time I had informed them in advance, but upon arrival I was told there was no Reservation. In the end, it turned out the Reservation had been properly made and this was due to their oversight. However, there was no apology at all, and they simply withdrew, which I do not consider an appropriate response. Also, although I am an IKYU Diamond member, there was no explanation whatsoever about the Diamond member benefits, and I was unable to receive any benefits. Diamond members may want to confirm everything carefully in advance. The food was delicious, and the Onsen and Room were comfortable.

    Relaxing hot springs and tranquil moments

    Beautiful flowers and ornaments are scattered throughout the accommodation, creating a high-quality atmosphere. The onsen at the accommodation is, as expected, truly exceptional. The Misasa Onsen is renowned as a famous hot spring, and it lives up to its reputation. Misasa retains much of Japan's traditional scenery and is an incredibly charming place. I had another peaceful stay this time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Mornings and nights are cold.

    Overall, very satisfied. However, despite being mid-May, the mornings and evenings were cold due to the unique climate of this region, and there was no heating in the air conditioning. This should be improved. Additionally, as it is a colder season, please set the bath temperature (indoor or outdoor) to 42°C or higher.

    Light yet satisfying dinner with a rich variety

    We chose a "light portion but rich in content" dinner course, considering it was a group of women with smaller appetites. The meal featured high-quality ingredients like abalone and blackthroat seaperch (as sashimi), which we truly enjoyed. What impressed us the most was the hot pot made with soft-shelled turtle. The nourishing soup helped soothe our travel fatigue.

    The hot spring was wonderful.

    We chose Mansuirou in Misasa Onsen, known for its radium hot springs and natural free-flowing onsen water, as per my mother's wish. The bath facilities were simple with one indoor and one outdoor bath, but the water was soft and not too hot, making it very relaxing to soak in. The baths were not overly large, which made the water feel fresh. The meals had a refined taste with just the right portions, and we enjoyed every bite. The staff at the accommodation were all kind and provided warm hospitality. Thank you very much! One suggestion: I wanted to have coffee but there was none among the room amenities. It would be nice if instant coffee sticks could be provided or if there was a coffee maker available for guests in the lobby.

    Response for Multiple Night Stay Due to Flight Cancellations or Transportation Suspensions Caused by Snowfall

    I had planned to stay on Friday, February 7th, and return home on Saturday, February 8th, but due to flight cancellations caused by snow, I was forced into a Multiple Night Stay. Other transportation options were also suspended, so there were few guests and I was able to extend my stay. However, the accommodation fee for Saturday night (February 8th) was charged at the regular high Saturday rate, resulting in a significant price increase. Although I downgraded the meal plan to the simplest Kaiseki course, it still cost almost the same as the full crab course from the previous day. Despite being compelled to extend my stay due to heavy snowfall (and with very few other guests), I was charged the highest regular Saturday rate. It was disappointing.

    The Japanese-Western...

    The Japanese-Western style room with an open-air bath was a bit cold in the snow; having individual heating equipment in the bed Room would be good. The open-air bath, large public bath, and meals were great. Next time, I’d like to visit during the season of fireflies and Kajika frogs.

    A very lovely accommodation

    Thank you for providing such a serene atmosphere and a truly high-quality experience. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to visit. The town of Misasa, with its welcoming people and soothing hot springs, always leaves me with a bittersweet feeling when it’s time to depart.

    The food was excellent.

    The food was excellent and delicious, with just the right amount. The service by the staff was at a perfect distance, very pleasant, and excellent. It would be even better if there were some additional amenities, such as new toiletries or coffee and drink services, so I rated it 4 stars.

    The "Bansuirou" at Misasa Yakushi no Yu, a place you must stay at least once.

    Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we frequently visited Misasa Yakushi no Yu "Bansuirou" for day-use bathing. As we are both in the late elderly stage, it's difficult for us to travel far, so after COVID-19 was downgraded to category 5, we started visiting nearby Onsen once a month. This time, we visited Misasa Yakushi no Yu "Bansuirou." We checked in while enjoying matcha and were guided to our room. The room was a Japanese-style room with 10 tatami mats plus a Western-style room with twin beds, and it included a 24-hour natural hot spring open-air bath. Before dinner, we first went to the bath. Dinner was a "small portion gourmet kaiseki" that emphasized quality over quantity. We savored each meticulously prepared dish. After returning to our room, we enjoyed the natural hot spring bath and went to bed earlier than usual in separate rooms without any worries, allowing us to rest well. We woke up and took a morning bath. Having a 24-hour natural hot spring open-air bath in the room was the best! Breakfast was in the same private room as last night, and the Misasa rice "Kinumusume" was so delicious that we had seconds. After breakfast, we returned to our room and relaxed until check-out at 11 a.m. before heading home. We were healed by the Onsen and enjoyed delicious cuisine, leaving us very satisfied with Misasa Yakushi no Yu "Bansuirou." By the way, on the way back, we bought Misasa-grown "Kinumusume" at the shop.

    The facility is elegantly scented with incense.

    The staff were kind and accommodating, and the entire property was well-maintained and clean. This trip was mainly planned around the radium onsen, so the onsen was a bit disappointing, but the meals were delicious and overall it was a good stay.

    The full-course crab dishes are exquisite.

    Following summer, we made an early Reservation to enjoy crab in winter. This time, we stayed in a corner Room with a semi-open-air bath, offering great views and allowing us to fully enjoy our stay with an early check-in. The meals were filled with plenty of crab as expected—enough to not crave crab for a while. Breakfast was also luxurious; the rice was exceptionally delicious, prompting us to buy 2 kilograms of fresh "Kinmusume" rice at a nearby supermarket. The Hatahata fish was as tasty as ever, making it a blissful moment. The score is slightly lowered due to the high temperature of the bath on the second day, which was quite uncomfortable, and the lack of dedicated baskets for used towels. However, the provided coffee met expectations and the sofa offered relaxing comfort. On this trip, we strolled through the Onsen town on our first day and visited Misasa Shrine where we received good fortune and enjoyed nostalgic smart ball games that brought back childhood memories—a fulfilling vacation overall!

    It was a wonderful Room.

    Very satisfied. The Room was spacious, the dinner was perfect, and the hospitality was excellent. If there is one area for improvement, it would be the quality of the breakfast.
