    Wonderful

    The food was absolutely delicious.

    My mother and I stayed for two nights. We chose the Premium “Kiwami” course, and the dishes were completely different on both days—every single one was incredibly delicious! My favorite was the blackthroat seaperch on the first day. It was wonderfully rich, and the salt seasoning was absolutely perfect. The sukiyaki seasoning was also spot-on—I wanted seconds. On the second day, I was blown away by the simmered sea bream head and the miso-glazed round eggplant. They suited my taste so well that I honestly wished I could eat 100 of each! Breakfast was excellent on both mornings as well. The first day’s clam miso soup especially impressed me—my mother loved it so much she finished it all at once, which is rare for her. Even after we got home, she kept saying how delicious it was. On the second morning there was a Western-style breakfast plate, and the omelet in particular was outstanding. When I was little, I once had an omelet at Exiv Toba that amazed me, and since then I hadn’t found one that surpassed it—until now. The moment I took a bite, a gentle buttery aroma came through, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced. It suited my taste so much that I saved half for last because I didn’t want it to end. I only wished it were bigger. Finally, thank you to all of the staff for your kind and attentive service. This became a wonderful travel memory for us. We’d love to enjoy your cuisine again, so we hope to visit in a different season next time! Thank you very much for everything—we look forward to staying with you again.

    We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

    I returned with high expectations for the benefits of the Onsen. The building has a nostalgic Showa-era feel; back in those days, there was an express train called “Misasa,” and this was a famous hot spring destination. I think this Ryokan has preserved that atmosphere well, although it seems they have also added newer Rooms. As before, the meals were truly delicious. I’d like to come again to relax and soak in the Onsen. As a special perk, we received a Japanese sake tasting set at dinner, which left me feeling wonderfully relaxed and helped me sleep very well.

    The best part is:

    All the senior staff were truly wonderful—very kind. In particular, the gentleman in charge of breakfast was very helpful and answered any questions I had, which I really appreciated. His warm smile helped make it a lovely day. The bath was also great. If I had one request, there was a small leak in one area, so I hope it can be fixed and that this Hotel will continue for a long time. The shaved ice was also delicious.

    I stayed here with my mother because I wanted to soak in the radium Onsen. The staff were very courteous, greeting us with smiles during our stay—at meal service and even when passing in the hallway. I also contacted them by email in advance and received a quick reply, so the service was excellent. The large public bath was clean, and the water quality was great. Our Room also had an open-air bath, but since the men’s and women’s baths rotate, we used the large public bath on both the day we arrived and the next day. That said, as it is a historic Ryokan this may be unavoidable, but when we were shown to our Room there was a strong old-fashioned smell reminiscent of the Showa era, which was disappointing. Since an Onsen area is meant for refreshing oneself, I think adding flowers or incense (not joss sticks) could help create a more special atmosphere in the Room and make it feel even more inviting.

    The photos introduci...

    The photos introducing the Ryokan on IKYU were completely different from what the Hotel was actually like. I understand that aging is unavoidable, but the real issue is that cleaning was clearly not being done properly. The private open-air bath, which was the main reason for my stay, was covered in mold and I was truly disappointed. The dining area also had a leaking roof, and they dealt with it by laying down plastic sheets and bath towels. I made a Reservation thinking it was a long-established luxury Ryokan, so I couldn’t help but laugh. Also, almost all of the staff (everyone I met) were foreigners who could not speak Japanese, which raised serious concerns about the level of service. Disappointing.

    Highly recommended in Misasa.

    An Accommodation that makes you want to come back no matter when you visit. The dinner is delicious, and the Onsen is excellent. Although the Facility is old, it is kept clean. However, I think there is room for improvement in the breakfast. I look forward to staying again.

    A memorable Accommodation you’ll want to return to

    Thanks to your call in advance letting us know there would be road closures due to a festival, we were able to arrive before the roads were closed. As a result, we enjoyed the festival and the fireworks, making our stay truly memorable. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding, and the parking valet service in particular exceeded our expectations by far. There are not many places where great service alone makes you want to stay again, but we would definitely love to return. We also recommended it to our family after we got home. Just one note: since I don’t often sleep on futons, I felt the mattress was thin and the pillow was low.

    Relaxing getaway for couples

    I stayed here during a three-day holiday weekend. It seemed fully booked, but the staff were very friendly and efficient, which made the stay pleasant. The timing of each course was perfect, so I was able to relax and truly enjoy the meal. This has become one of the Accommodations I’d like to visit again.

    The building is undeniably old, but the staff were very welcoming. The bath was a bit cooler than I expected, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Breakfast was truly colorful and varied—I couldn’t help going back for seconds.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    The food was delicious, and the hot spring water quality was excellent. Fresh flowers were displayed in the hallways, and face towels were available in the large public bath for guests to use freely—these thoughtful touches and attentive service were wonderful. When we asked for a photo, the staff kindly helped us with a smile, which made it a truly special memory. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

    A truly wonderful Onsen.

    I’ve stayed here several times recently. The Onsen (water quality) is excellent. The meals are outstanding. The frog chorus at the private dining room is a fun touch. I highly recommend it to everyone.

    The staff were wonderful.

    Although it is an older Accommodation, it was kept very clean. Fresh flowers were arranged throughout the building, and the staff provided warm, heartfelt service, making our stay very comfortable. The Onsen was also free-flowing from the source and the water was excellent. I would like to visit again with my husband. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Thank you very much.

    It was a stay for our usual group of four: my two older sisters, my niece, and me. Everyone except me is local, but it was our first time at Mansuiro, and we were really looking forward to it. The tatami in the Room was brand-new and felt great, and the space was more than enough. We were very satisfied with both the Onsen and the meals, and my sister who is recovering from illness was delighted—she had a better appetite than usual, and it even seemed like she felt physically better. Maybe all the laughter boosted our immunity. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    An Accommodation that Exceeds Its Price

    Soaking in and even drinking one of Japan’s leading radon Onsens was amazing. Dinner was served in a private room (traditional restaurant), and the architecture was stunning; both the presentation and taste of the dishes were excellent. This is definitely an Onsen I will return to. Depending on the room, but I would have liked at least coffee to be included.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    We stayed for one night over the weekend as a family of four, and it was our first time visiting Misasa Onsen. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and everyone provided courteous service throughout our stay. We reserved a spacious Japanese-style Room, and it was more than large enough for four people. The Onsen temperature was just right for me, and I was able to relax in the baths before and after dinner as well as the next morning (it was displayed at around 41°C, but it didn’t feel overly hot). We also enjoyed drinking the spring water. Dinner was served in a private room at the dining venue Hanaikada, which offered a special atmosphere away from everyday life. Both the quality and quantity of the meal were very satisfying. If I had to mention two minor points: first, the operating noise of the escalator near the Hotel entrance leading up to the second-floor lobby could be heard in the lobby, which felt like a slight missed opportunity for that space’s ambiance. Second, the floor futon mattress was a little thin. Even so, overall this is an excellent Ryokan, and we made wonderful family memories here.

    The atmosphere throughout the property and the hospitality are both outstanding.

    We stayed here as a family of five to celebrate my mother’s recovery from illness. It was our first time visiting Misasa Onsen and Mansuiro, and thanks to the wonderful atmosphere and hospitality, it became a truly memorable trip. We were especially grateful that the dining area was a private room, which allowed us to enjoy our meal peacefully even with children. Every dish—from the small appetizers to the main courses—was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The kids must have loved it too; they ate more quietly than ever before (laugh). We also appreciated the care given to our children’s meals, including the timing of service and seating arrangements. I would like to thank the staff member who kindly helped us when we consulted about the menu. The atmosphere throughout the building was also outstanding. The scent of fresh tatami when we entered our room, the stillness of the Yakushi Nyorai room, and the artworks and flower arrangements… Time seemed to slow down, and we were able to spend our stay in peace. I have no complaints—perhaps only that the lighting in the open-air bath was a little dim, making it slightly hard to see where you were stepping. Tottori is my hometown, but I rarely stayed at an Onsen during visits home; however, this is a place I would definitely like to return to. For those visiting on a trip, I can wholeheartedly recommend it as a local resident.

    Disappointing

    The Onsen in the Room was great, but the service and meals were second-rate. I would like to see more originality in the food, such as using more local ingredients—quality over quantity. There wasn’t enough explanation of the dishes, the pace of service was slow, and staff rarely came by. It felt very hectic and rushed, so it wasn’t an environment where you could expect first-class service. In hindsight, I should have assumed from the start that this was a large-scale, mass-production-style Facility with second-rate service, but given the price I expected top-tier quality and was disappointed.

    Relax and unwind

    I stayed at Mansuiro in Misasa Onsen on a friend’s recommendation. At welcome, we were served matcha and rakugan. Since my check-in details had been entered in advance, the process was very quick with no need to fill out any accommodation forms. Check-out was also easy with QR payment. However, since the Ryokan does not issue a Receipt through this method, I recommend checking out at the front desk if you need a Receipt. This time I chose a Room with a private bath, so I could enjoy the radium Onsen not only in the public bath but also in my Room, relaxing without worrying about time. As rumored, the cuisine was beautifully prepared—dishes like stone-grilled shrimp were as enjoyable to look at as they were to eat. The attendant provided attentive service throughout our stay, and I truly felt the excellence of Japanese hospitality again. I hope to visit again and stay longer next time. Thank you very much!

    Room with an Open-Air Bath

    We stayed with our daughter for our wedding anniversary. The open-air bath was wonderful, and we used it many times. Since my husband could not use the public bath due to an injury, the in-room open-air bath was a great help. The meals were also delicious. We were very satisfied with everything we like, such as grilled blackthroat seaperch with salt, stone-grilled beef tongue, and sukiyaki. The staff were very pleasant as well, and we had a wonderful time. As a perk from IKYU, we chose the Japanese sake tasting set. It was so good that we bought some at the shop. We have found another place we would like to visit again.

    Dinner features an all-crab feast.

    An elderly couple in their later senior years stayed one night at our favorite Misasa Onsen, “Bansuirou.” We enjoyed crab to the fullest and, during our stay, soaked many times in the natural free-flowing Onsen in our Room—truly relaxing. Not only was dinner wonderful, but breakfast was also colorful, with plenty of easy-to-eat dishes. When we sent a photo of breakfast to our child, we got this reply: “Looks delicious! It’s like dinner!” Misasa Onsen “Bansuirou” is an Accommodation we’d like to stay at several times again this year.

    The building is a bit old, but the service is excellent.

    The service was truly wonderful, and I was able to relax from the bottom of my heart. The building and Facility have a sense of history, yet everything is very well maintained and extremely clean. The large public bath was also comfortable, and the atmosphere was elegant and lovely. As a foreign guest who is not very good at Japanese, I felt completely at ease thanks to the staff’s kind, heartfelt hospitality. I am truly grateful. The cuisine was first-class as well, beautifully showcasing seasonal flavors and local ingredients—I was deeply impressed. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Nostalgic and reminiscent of the good old days.

    From the rare welcome of being greeted outside the entrance before you even arrive, to being served a welcome drink, the staff treat you like an honored guest—almost to the point where you feel pleasantly humbled. The Ryokan’s interior and exterior have a nostalgic feel, and anyone who loves the Showa era will likely enjoy it. The cafe area in front of the front desk is spacious and relaxing, which I also liked. Quiet background music that matches the atmosphere plays throughout the Ryokan, so wherever you are, you can enjoy an elegant time. The meals were carefully prepared with plenty of variety and more than enough quantity. Of course, the Onsen was so good I wanted to soak multiple times. Just across the bridge in front of the Ryokan there is a nostalgic old-style game arcade as well, making this a highly recommended Ryokan with a great location for those who want to visit it.

    The service was excellent.

    At check-in, I was happy to be seated at a table and served tea and sweets. The instructions on how to wear the yukata in the Room were also helpful. We were told to bring bath towels from the Room, but there were towels in the changing area as well, so we could use as many as needed, which was very convenient. On the day of check-out, it had been snowing since morning and our car was covered in snow, but you cleared it off before we left and brought it to the entrance for us, which we really appreciated.

    My mother was satisfied.

    My mother has been eating less lately, but she can still enjoy crab, so we decided to visit for the first time, also drawn by the waters of Misasa Onsen. Our original date had to be postponed due to heavy snow and road closures. When we arrived, the staff member who carried our luggage to our Room and showed us around greeted us with a warm smile that made us feel at ease. For dinner, we enjoyed tagged crab. The melt-in-your-mouth crab sashimi was outstanding. Everything was great overall, but I did wish the miso soup had a bit more thought put into the ingredients. We also used the large public bath, though I would have liked there to be a sauna. Still, the river view from our Room was very soothing, and I was happy that my mother was satisfied with the Accommodation. I had various concerns and contacted you by email several times beforehand; your pleasant responses were reassuring as well. We would love to visit again.

    It was a stay during...

    It was a stay during a once-in-a-decade cold wave. The room, bath, and meals were mostly satisfying at this accommodation. However, one disappointing point was that in the morning, there was a significant amount of snow piled up. Even though our car was parked in the parking lot right in front, it was not walkable with regular shoes. When we asked the front desk to move our car, they did so but responded with something like "Oh? It's just right there," which felt disappointing. Perhaps it was our fault for not bringing boots and staying at this accommodation unprepared, but if guests are expected to handle things themselves, I wish at least the path to the parking lot had been cleared of snow during heavy snowfall. When getting into our car after it had been moved to the entrance by staff, an older man clearing snow from an accommodation vehicle nearby didn’t say anything like "Thank you" or "Please drive safely." Instead, I had to initiate by saying "Thank you for everything," before receiving any response from him—making for a rather disappointing departure experience. It’s unfortunate because everything else about this stay was excellent.

    The Onsen was excellent.

    The Onsen in the room was excellent. However, there were four stink bugs flying around, which was quite troublesome. The staff's service during meals was good, but their overall service from check-in to check-out was disappointing. Some staff members couldn't even greet properly. Among all the Onsen trips I've experienced so far, this had the poorest service.

    We had a wonderful time.

    We had a wonderful time. We stayed for two nights, and on the second night, we chose the winter course, which was all about crab dishes. At first, we enjoyed it thoroughly, but by the time we got to the grilled crab at the end, it felt a bit overwhelming. A slightly smaller portion would have been appreciated. The food was delicious overall. The Onsen was also excellent. The staff's service was great as well. We would love to visit again if we have another opportunity. Thank you very much!
