    It was a great deal with Earn Points and Diamond benefits.

    It is not the cheapest accommodation, but I was able to enjoy a great stay using IKYU points and Diamond benefits. The room this time had a cypress bathtub, but since it was not an onsen, I mainly used the onsen public bath. Dinner was served in the room, and breakfast at the dining venue, both of which were as delicious as ever. Coming from Tokyo, I stopped by Echigo-Yuzawa on the way there and Kusatsu on the way back; this accommodation is definitely worth extending your trip for.

    This was my first visit. The facility, atmosphere, and service were excellent. They even prepared rice balls for us on our way back, which were delicious.

    Visited Niigata for the first time in 30 years and stayed at an accommodation highly rated on social media. Extremely satisfied with the food and the sulfur-scented onsen, just as reviewed. Grateful for being able to surprise my wife with a birthday celebration. However, during the morning bath in the open-air onsen, my soles turned black, possibly due to iron content, which was a slight downside. Also, while having dinner in our room, another guest was mistakenly guided by staff into our room by accident—quite surprising! Despite these incidents, I had a relaxing stay and am overall satisfied. Would I visit again? Maybe!

    If you are seeking nature, tranquility, and relaxation, this is the perfect accommodation. To step away from daily life and reflect on yourself, your loved ones, the significance of your work, and your future life with a calm mind, I make it a point to visit a serene onsen accommodation surrounded by nature about once every three months or plan annual leave in advance for such trips. This helps me recover my work performance as well. This time, I returned to my hometown in Niigata because my mother, who lives in a rural town there, could no longer live alone and needed to move into a facility. Until now, I never stayed at accommodations in Niigata since my family home was there. However, with my mother starting her new life elsewhere, my wife and I decided to find a peaceful place to stay locally—and we chose this accommodation. The entire building is made of wood; even the windows and doors are wooden without aluminum frames. The glass throughout the facility is spotless without any dirt or smudges. You take off your shoes at the entrance and can walk barefoot inside—it’s incredibly clean everywhere you look! The attention to detail in cleaning left us deeply impressed. Although it rained on our arrival day, watching raindrops fall onto green leaves from our room or while soaking in the bath was truly soothing. The meals were perfectly portioned—not too much nor too little—and featured wonderful dishes that highlighted seasonal local ingredients rather than extravagant cuisine for showmanship. Additionally, all staff members greeted us warmly and showed exceptional care throughout our stay. With its changing scenery across spring through winter as well as seasonal cuisine offerings to enjoy year-round—I’m already looking forward to visiting again this autumn for colorful foliage views paired with relaxing onsen baths and some quiet reading time!

    A space where you can experience the unique Japanese aesthetic sense, like the wabi-sabi, feeling the charm in tranquility. I was surprised to find such a wonderful property at Iwamuro Onsen in Niigata. The meals were excellent in both quantity and quality, and the speed of service was good. Despite visiting in the middle of winter, the cold I was worried about was not an issue, and the beautiful snowy landscape beyond the shoji windows was exceptional. For those seeking time and space to escape from the everyday overflow of things and information, to release physical and mental tension and stiffness, and to refine their sensibilities, I highly recommend it.

    The meals were incredibly delicious as mentioned in the Review, and we thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and lunch. The grilled Nodoguro was especially delightful, making for a truly happy time! The overall atmosphere of the Ryokan was both modern and elegant, while still retaining the grandeur of a traditional Ryokan, which was wonderful. (In particular, the walk from the entrance to the building was captivating.) The open-air bath also had a fantastic ambiance, and the lady who attended to us provided very courteous service with a great sense of humor, making both my friends and me instant fans. If we have the opportunity to visit again, I hope we can meet her once more.

    This was my third stay. The hospitality, Onsen, Facility, and cuisine were all excellent, truly making it a first-class Property. It is a great example of a good Property. However, after check-out, I realized that the article about the Shuttle Service did not mention the fact that I had reserved a sightseeing taxi. It seems there was a lack of communication, and this part of the service, which should flow smoothly like a stream, deserves a negative score. I hope this will be improved next time. Other than that, everything was flawless. I look forward to my next stay. Thank you very much.
