We were upgraded to a larger, quieter room, which was very relaxing. Thank you very much. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was great. For breakfast, I chose a Japanese set meal because I wanted to take my time, but I noticed a few things. Even for someone like me who eats small portions, it felt like a diet meal, so if I stay again, I would like to try the buffet. After breakfast, I went sightseeing for a bit, and as expected, I got hungry before noon. The yudofu (two small pieces of tofu) and grilled salmon (soft and delicious), with fish paste next to the grilled salmon, and two types of side dishes called obanzai (both seemed to be just taken out of the fridge, cold), felt like home-cooked dishes. The chirimen sansho, miso soup with tororo kombu and fu, overall gave a simpler impression than a home breakfast. I could choose between rice and porridge, so I chose porridge, but when I asked if there was a spoon, as there was a ladle for the yudofu, I was told there wasn't. It also felt strange that dried seaweed was served with the porridge. When ordering a Japanese set meal at a hotel, it's often said that you can have refills of rice or porridge, and I often feel that the staff ask if you'd like more without us having to request it, but that wasn't the case. On the same day, I was organizing a reunion lunch at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, and porridge was included in the course. I talked a bit with the person in charge about delaying the timing of serving the porridge, and they said they prioritize the customer's wishes, but if too much time passes after it's ready, the porridge becomes sticky and cools down. They said they could serve it later than when it's ready if that's okay. I was impressed by the coordination between the cooks and the servers, their effort to serve the dishes at the best timing, and their attitude of respecting the customer's wishes. The food and atmosphere were great, and it was an enjoyable reunion. I thought it was convenient and nice that there were vending machines for drinks throughout the facility. However, it was disappointing that there wasn't anything I wanted to buy. I would like to request the sale of sweet soft drinks made with sugar, unsweetened carbonated water, and 100% fruit juice.
