    This Room allowed in...

    This Room allowed in-room dining. The attendant assigned to our Room was very kind, and the meals prepared for us were delicious. Since I informed them in advance that I have difficulty walking, they provided a shower chair in the washing area, which I truly appreciated. Thank you. At night, the illuminated public bath and shrine could be seen from the Room’s balcony and looked beautiful. After bathing, we cooled off while enjoying the view. Just one thing: our Room had a stone lantern placed next to the bath, and there was a very strong odor coming from the paving stones or drainage channel around that area. Depending on the wind direction, it smelled quite bad during bathing, so I hope this will be improved.

    Everything was great except that the rice was a bit soft. I think it comes down to personal preference, so I rated it 5 stars overall. Kaga Onsen was relaxing because there were no foreign tourists.

    An Accommodation You’ll Want to Return To

    It’s wonderful that you can enjoy the Onsen baths without worrying about the time! Everything is well maintained and very clean. Such a great Onsen that you’ll want to soak again and again. The meals were also completely satisfying! Not only delicious, but both breakfast and dinner leave you truly full. The Accommodation is well cared for, and even the retro touches feel charming, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We stayed again in the Japanese-style Junior Suite with an open-air bath. The view of the open-air bath from the Room is also lovely. The Room’s walls, Wajima lacquer doors, Kutani ware handles, water basin tray, toilet—everything has a distinctly Kaga feel and is wonderful. A Room that makes you want to come back. The staff were also kind, attentive, and courteous, making our trip even more special—thank you! Onsen, meals, Room, staff service—everything was extremely satisfying. An Accommodation you’ll want to return to again. P.S. Because the large glass window in the Room is polished so perfectly clean and shiny, it’s easy to forget it’s there—and accidentally bump into it… For better or worse, that’s the one thing to watch out for.

    Spacious Accommodation

    The food and service were impeccable. Overall, the property felt very spacious, which made it feel luxurious—especially the Room layout and the washing area in the large public bath. It was also our first time having in-room dining in a Room with a lovely dining table, and we were able to relax comfortably as a family.

    Thank you for having us for one night. As others have mentioned, the warm hospitality was truly comforting. The meals were delicious, and everything was spotless throughout, which left us feeling refreshed. I traveled with my wife and our two daughters, and this was an Accommodation we are genuinely glad we chose. Thank you very much.

    A relaxing, comfortable Accommodation

    This was our first stay as a couple, and among the many Accommodations in Yamashiro Onsen, the location here is outstanding. We could walk to sightseeing spots such as Sōyu and Onsen-ji Temple. The hot spring water quality was excellent, and we enjoyed it five or six times during our stay. We also appreciated the sherbet service after bathing. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, with each dish carefully made. Although we don’t eat as much as we used to, everything was so delicious that we finished almost all of both dinner and breakfast. We are grateful for the warm hospitality from all the staff, especially our in-room attendant who paid attention to every detail. We were able to relax throughout our stay, and we were both very happy. If we have the chance, we would love to stay again.

    Disappointing Accommodation

    The meals were excellent and very satisfying, but the open-air bath in the Room had no way to adjust the water temperature. At check-in, there was also no explanation of the check-out time. During dinner, the attendants’ chatting was very loud, and every time they brought food in, we could hear heavy footsteps and the serving cart hitting the wall. I had something I wanted to ask an attendant, so I stepped out from the private dining room into the hallway and spoke to them, but I was told only our assigned attendant would know. I was left standing in the hallway; several other attendants passed by without saying anything, which was extremely unpleasant. We had leftover alcohol from dinner and were told we could drink it back in our Room. After bathing, my family planned to enjoy it together, so I asked the front desk for ice and soda water. However, they said the kitchen had already closed and only items in the refrigerator were available. In this hot summer weather, we wanted a cold drink after bathing—but that wasn’t possible (and of course there was no paid ice or soda water in the refrigerator either). At minimum, I would like them to install an ice machine somewhere in a shared area. I felt that this Accommodation’s price did not match its service level, so this will be my last stay here.

    Enjoy the large public bath all to yourself.

    Thank you for having us for one night. Since our Room did not have an open-air bath, we relaxed and enjoyed the Onsen in the large public bath. We had the large public bath all to ourselves, and the slightly hot water soothed both body and mind. The cuisine was a true delight for both the eyes and the palate, and we were very satisfied. It was a wonderful holiday—relaxing in our Room and unwinding in the Onsen. Thank you very much.

    The Room was a Japan...

    The Room was a Japanese-Western style Room with an open-air bath, and it was clean, spacious, and very relaxing. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, with a homely feel, which we really appreciated. We both love fish, and since we came from a landlocked prefecture, the local seafood was especially delicious. We were able to enjoy our meal in a private dining room at a relaxed pace. The evening piano performance was calm and soothing, and we were able to spend a luxurious time. It was a bit disappointing that there weren’t many listeners—perhaps because it was late. Since checkout was late as well, we could take it easy in the morning, which was great. One thing: coffee was provided in the Room, but the machine-made coffee tasted more like espresso and may not suit everyone’s preference. To be honest, it wasn’t very good. We would have preferred drip coffee that you simply pour hot water over. We would love to stay again when we visit your area. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

    First Time at Yamashiro Onsen

    Tachibana Shikitei was the best Ryokan during our five-day trip. Next to the spacious Japanese-style Room was an equally large dining room, where we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The attendant who looked after us during our stay was friendly and efficient, explaining everything clearly and making our time very enjoyable. I don’t usually like in-room dining, but it was convenient not to have to move around, so we could relax at ease. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious—I could tell the chef is highly skilled. From 9:00 p.m., there was a mini piano concert in the lounge, and the proprietress personally recommended drinks for us. We felt truly soothed by the beautiful music. If it were closer, this is a Ryokan we would love to visit every year. Thank you for taking such good care of us during our stay.

    It was a great accommodation.

    This was our first stay at an Accommodation with a private bath in the Room, using the weekend before Golden Week as a couple. Inside the Accommodation, guests go barefoot and there are no slippers, but everything was impeccably clean, and we spent our time wearing the provided tabi socks. Dining may depend on personal preference, but for us as a couple in our 60s the portions were generous; each dish was beautifully presented with seasonal touches and well-balanced flavors, and we enjoyed everything in a private dining room. We later learned that this is a long-established Accommodation dating back to around the Meiji era, which we found out at the Rosanjin-related Facility next door. It didn’t seem fully booked at that time, but there appear to be only about 6–7 Rooms per floor; even at the Onsen we hardly ran into other guests, so we could truly relax. The only disappointment was that since the Onsen is separated by gender, having two Room keys would mean there’s no need to leave one at the front desk—allowing for an even more private and uninterrupted stay without having to interact with anyone. It was our first time in Yamashiro Onsen, and it felt a little lonely that there wasn’t much of an Onsen town atmosphere nearby; however, for a trip focused on enjoying the Onsen itself, that may actually be ideal.... Overall, it was a wonderful Accommodation.

    From the moment we arrived by car, you kindly accommodated our requests regarding parking and more. The person in charge of our Room welcomed us with pleasant conversation and kindly accepted our selfish requests, which made us very happy.     I was satisfied with my stay.

    The Accommodation was quiet, and we enjoyed a peaceful stay. The meals were made with only fresh ingredients and were very delicious. The Onsen was a little hot and warmed us up nicely.

    We’ll definitely stay again!

    Of the several Accommodations I’ve stayed at in Yamashiro Onsen, the hot spring water here felt exceptionally good. When I asked the staff, they told me it comes from Yamashiro Onsen’s oldest source, “No. 1 Gensen.” It warmed me gently from within, and even after bathing my skin felt smooth—almost as if I’d soaked in lotion. I was truly amazed by how good the water was. This time I stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, so I could soak whenever I liked as many times as I wanted, and it made for a deeply satisfying stay. Every dish was delicious, and you could really tell everything was prepared with care. The warm hospitality of the staff also left a strong impression; the person who looked after us was cheerful, and we were able to relax and enjoy our time. These days, perhaps due to efficiency-driven operations, many places can feel somewhat scripted, but here I felt they truly value the charm of a traditional Japanese Ryokan. I stayed with a friend, who was also very satisfied, and it was such a wonderful Accommodation that we’d love to visit again.

    The meals are excellent.

    Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The bath in the Room was also spacious, and we were very satisfied. What was disappointing was the staff service. The parking attendant was unhelpful, and the room attendant spoke casually without polite language; even when we shared our requests, we were repeatedly told, “I don’t recommend that.” This did not feel like service worthy of the price we paid. The food was delicious.

    Year-End Trip

    Truly wonderful accommodation. Please improve the smoking area.

    The accommodation was truly wonderful. However, the smell from the smoking area filled the entire floor, which was quite bothersome. There was a large gap under the smoking area door, making it ineffective. The smoking area was located next to the elevator, and waiting for the elevator became uncomfortable as non-smokers had to endure secondhand smoke. Although I had requested a room without any tobacco smell due to my sensitivity beforehand, I was disappointed by how strong it still smelled. It seems that my reserved room's location was near the smoking area. I decided to complete the reservation after being told it wouldn't be an issue. During my stay, I asked for their door to remain closed as much as possible. When their door remained closed, no tobacco smell entered my room; however, during meal preparations or while using the elevator, there were strong odors (some floors had smoking areas while others did not). I stayed in a high-end ryokan with a private onsen attached to my room. Despite paying a significant amount for this stay, my experience was marred by issues related to the smoking area. Other than that issue, everything else was perfect. The staff member assigned to us provided exceptional service with great attention to detail and kindness throughout our stay. They prepared both dinner and breakfast wonderfully while ensuring nothing essential was missing at all times! The private onsen felt amazing; combined alongside spacious rooms left me highly satisfied overall—thank you so much! If improvements are made regarding these concerns about smokers' spaces/smells affecting guests negatively—I’d love returning again someday soon even considering multiple-night stays! Please address this matter thoroughly moving forward!

    Year-End Reward

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The smile and service of the staff in charge of our Room were wonderful, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. The food, the Room, and the bath were all excellent! We were impressed by many aspects, including the convenience and clarity of moving around inside the Ryokan. It has become a Ryokan we would love to visit again. However, it was slightly inconvenient that there was no clock in the Room, as we had to check our charging phone for time due to how spacious the Room is. While "a Ryokan where you forget about time" is a phrase I often hear recently, I still think time is important for meal times, meeting with others from other rooms, or enjoying piano performances. This stay has become a motivation for us throughout this year so that we can visit again next year. Thank you very much!

    This is a traditiona...

    This is a traditional Japanese-style Ryokan with an onsen, where you need to take off your shoes upon entering. Even for those concerned about cleanliness, there's no need to worry as the Ryokan is impeccably clean. I walked around in the provided white split-toe socks, and they remained spotless without picking up anything strange! During check-in and check-out, attentive service by staff is provided, including assistance with luggage. You can simply relax and enjoy the process. The Ryokan also offers a shuttle service to Kaga Onsen Station. The room we stayed in was incredibly spacious and beautiful, featuring an open-air onsen bath. It was equipped with a Panasonic facial steamer and a Nespresso coffee machine for added comfort. The drinks in the fridge were reasonably priced as well. Our main purpose for visiting this December was to enjoy crab dishes. The crab Kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious, offering fresh sashimi, grilled crab, and crab shabu-shabu hot pot. The kani miso (crab paste) was especially rich and flavorful! A staff member even taught us how to mix the kani miso with shredded crab meat for an enhanced taste experience. Since the crabs are pre-prepared by the Ryokan staff, there’s no hassle of shelling them yourself—perfect for those who prefer convenience. The Japanese-style breakfast was also excellent; particularly noteworthy were the rice and onsen egg that showcased both careful preparation and high-quality ingredients. Although staying here comes at a premium price per night, every detail makes it feel worth every penny spent!

    I had high expectations.

    The food was within the standard range despite hearing it was excellent. The staff's attitude was formal and curt, which felt unpleasant at times. I don't think I would visit again.

    Crabs! Autumn Leaves! Yatagarasu!

    The Onsen was very spacious and allowed for a relaxing experience. The indoor bath even offered drinkable hot spring water, which warmed me from the inside as well. You can choose colorful yukata, enjoy yuzu sherbet after the Onsen, and attend a piano concert at 9 PM—there was so much to do! The latest Shuttle Service to the station is at 12 PM, which gave me enough time to explore Yamashiro Onsen on the second morning. By the way, many shops in Yamashiro Onsen open early in line with the public bath's opening hours at 6 AM. When I returned to the Hotel for my Shuttle Service to the station, a staff member kindly waited for me with an item I had forgotten. I apologize for any trouble caused and truly appreciated their thoughtfulness. I felt comfortable until the very end of my stay—thank you so much!

    That's unfortunate.

    Once a year, we take a trip to enjoy delicious crab during this season, and this year we stayed here. The crab and the Room were wonderful. However, it might not meet the expectations of guests accustomed to top-notch hospitality.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    The staff and attendants were incredibly kind and attentive. The temperature of the private open-air bath in our room was perfect, and we ended up soaking for a long time. It was a birthday trip for my husband, who loves baths, and he enjoyed it so much that he stayed in the bath until the very last moment before check-out (laughs). The meals were plentiful and absolutely satisfying. Small thoughtful gestures like preparing our shoes at check-out or bringing the car to the front entrance made us feel truly cared for.     We had a relaxing and enjoyable time.

    I chose Tachibana Shikitei as I was looking for an accommodation with a spacious room featuring a large bath where I could relax while enjoying an open view. The space was exactly as shown in the photos—spacious, glass-walled, and very refreshing. The cleanliness and quiet atmosphere were also excellent! The meals were served in a private, spacious, and beautiful room where I could enjoy them at my own pace. Each dish was intricately prepared, delightful, and incredibly delicious! With the checkout time being until 12:00 PM, I could spend my morning leisurely. The staff members were welcoming with warm smiles and created a relaxing atmosphere wherever I went. I would love to try staying in another room next time!

    Lovely Accommodation

    The room with a private open-air bath was wonderful. The public bath was great too, but it was nice to enjoy the bath anytime without worry. It was our first trip in a while as a family of three with my husband and son, and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. On such a hot day, the sherbet service in the lounge was much appreciated. Thank you for recommending sake and providing information about nearby tourist spots!

    Onsen was satisfying, but service and meals need improvement.

    We visited with high expectations for a luxury Ryokan, but some disappointing aspects stood out. The room, amenities, and facility were clean and comfortable. Additionally, the Onsen had excellent water quality and offered a spacious and satisfying atmosphere. However, we felt there was room for improvement in terms of service and meals. At check-in, the staff greeted us in a formal manner by sitting on their knees in large numbers, which felt somewhat rigid and unsettling rather than welcoming. The assigned attendant's service also came across as impersonal and lacked heartfelt hospitality. The dinner was unremarkable; particularly the meat dishes had too much fat content and did not suit our taste. The dessert was also not enjoyable. For breakfast, the rice was overcooked to a mushy texture that we found unappealing, while the overall menu seemed quite ordinary with potential for improvement. Overall, while the facility and Onsen were attractive features, considering the service quality and meal offerings left us feeling that it fell short of expectations for a luxury Ryokan. We hope to see improvements in these areas moving forward.

    Stayed after the holiday break.

    I stayed after the holiday break. The Room was renovated and very comfortable to use. However, there was no toothbrush for some reason. The large public bath, including both indoor and outdoor baths, was very satisfying. The attendant provided dedicated service and was very kind. However, the flow of the meal felt a bit off—after sashimi came duck dishes, followed by grilled white fish with butter, and then grilled Noto beef—which left me somewhat dissatisfied with the taste progression. I feel it would be better to reconsider the meal composition in this regard. Since it is a Plan with a relatively high price point, I have evaluated it somewhat strictly.
