    We were very satisfied.

    I have stayed here many times because the hotel’s atmosphere, meals, and hot springs are wonderful, but this was my first time staying in the Tower Wing. I checked in at the exclusive lounge for guest floors, and a staff member kindly escorted me to my room. The room was a Japanese-style room (with beds) and was much larger than I expected—I was pleasantly surprised. From the window I could see the ocean and the cityscape of Atami, and I enjoyed the view while sitting on the sofa by the window. I also took my time enjoying the hot springs—simply outstanding. For dinner, I relaxed in a quiet restaurant setting and enjoyed a kaiseki course at an unhurried pace. Breakfast was a buffet with both Japanese and Western options. I went early, took my time choosing dishes, and enjoyed a peaceful meal. It was an incredibly luxurious stay, and I am very satisfied. I would like to stay in the Tower Wing again next time as well. Thank you very much.

    The exterior was new and clean.

    [What We Liked] 1. The view from the balcony 2. The view and open, airy feel from the standing bath in the spa 3. The Room was clean 4. The bed was comfortable 5. The bathtub in the large public bath in the Tower building is spacious [What We Didn’t Like] 1. The breakfast and dinner buffet selections were uninteresting 2. You have to check facility information on your own smartphone; locations such as the smoking area, ice machine, and canned beer vending machine are hard to find 3. Parking is charged separately 4. There are no on-site recreational areas such as games or table tennis 5. You can’t watch YouTube on the TV 6. You can’t enter the Hotel directly from the parking lot; even when it’s raining you have to go outside and walk around, which is inconvenient despite being adjacent 7. They call the card key holder a “passport” and require you to carry it, but this wasn’t explained clearly enough 8. The spa reception staff were intimidating

    A Four-Generation Family Trip to Atami

    My 88-year-old mother, my sister and I, my daughter, and my two grandchildren (six of us across four generations) stayed at Atami Korakuen Hotel for one night and two days. Although we were a group with a wide range of ages, everyone was comfortable, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The Shuttle Service bus from Atami Station to the Hotel was extremely helpful. Our Room was an 18-tatami Japanese-style room with large windows, so we could also enjoy the beautiful nighttime view of Atami town. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a great variety—from dishes my mother enjoys to kid-friendly options—so everyone could enjoy the meals together regardless of age. The freshly grilled dried horse mackerel was especially delicious. The large public bath was equipped with a baby bath and baby soap, so we felt at ease bathing even with our young grandchildren. We truly appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail. When we asked the front desk to arrange a taxi for getting around, they responded quickly, which helped us a lot. This is a Hotel I can wholeheartedly recommend to families traveling with babies or elderly relatives. We would love to stay again as a family. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

    This is my second stay.

    This was my second stay, and I was able to relax and take it easy. Each Room has its own air conditioner and air purifier, and the breakfast buffet is more than sufficient. I watched the sunrise from the large public bath. It’s also helpful that they sell a wide variety of souvenirs and snacks. You can even enjoy Atami Purin. The only disappointment was that, in Fuua’s warm bathing area—the part I was most looking forward to—a group of what seemed to be college students were talking loudly, and in the relaxation space, one couple made it difficult to use the surrounding open areas. Even so, it’s a place I’d love to visit again!

    Beyond expectations! I’d love to stay again!

    This trip was mainly about the Onsen, so I thought it would be enough if I could see the ocean from the bath. I made a Reservation for an AQUA SQUARE Courtyard Twin with breakfast and dinner included. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much (sorry), but while it wasn’t large, it felt very clean, with only what was necessary neatly arranged—simple, functional, and easy to use. The bed was also comfortable, and I was able to relax. Since I traveled by train, the free Shuttle Service bus was greatly appreciated. It said the ride from the station to the Hotel takes about 10 minutes, but it felt like we arrived quickly while enjoying the view from Atami Station, so the distance didn’t bother me. That said, even though I arrived 10 minutes before departure time, it was already almost full. I did get a seat, but it seems best to arrive early. Both the Room layout and buffet area were designed efficiently, and the staff’s sense of distance was excellent as well. There were many guests but not much waiting or crowding; even in the baths there was enough space between people to relax. Because this trip focused on bathing, I didn’t have high expectations for meals either (again—sorry). Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style; being able to choose what I liked and having a live kitchen made it better than expected. Staff promptly cleared empty plates one after another, so we could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. They also had a collaboration with Atami Purin—the pudding we tried was delicious. And the salt ramen served during bar time was truly excellent as well. At other Accommodations I often find grilled horse mackerel at breakfast is quite small here; however here we were served a good-sized portion. On the other hand each pancake is smaller which made them easy to try—and I ended up going back for more. And most importantly—the Onsen: The Hotel’s large public bath was wonderful. The night view from the open-air bath in evening hours was beautiful; and on the next day at Ocean Spa fuua,the view from standing bath that feels one with oceanwas absolutely stunning. The relaxation areas were spacious too,and this is a Hotel I'd like return next time with more time. They also kindly helped me despite my mistake during Reservation,and I'm truly grateful. Thank you very much. I will visit again.

    Family Trip with My Son

    Although the weather was unfortunately cloudy with light rain, the view from the Room was spectacular and amazing. The bath was also wonderful—the view from the spa’s standing open-air bath was outstanding. We also enjoyed the private open-air bath as a family both morning and night, and our sons were very happy. We had a Multiple Night Stay, but the meals were different each day and very delicious. Since it is the 30th anniversary, it’s understandable, but it was a little inconvenient not to have an electrical outlet by the bedside.

    Family Trip

    I visited with my parents and a family group of six. We stayed in a Japanese-style Room, which was very spacious and impeccably clean, making for a very comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, with plenty of local dishes—absolutely satisfying! I was also surprised that alcoholic drinks were all-you-can-drink, and everything was delicious. The front desk staff were excellent as well, so overall we were very happy. The only thing that concerned me was the Room air conditioning: you can’t set the temperature and can only choose between high/medium/low, so I’m giving it 4 stars. Next time, I’d like to check in earlier and relax at the Hotel!

    We enjoyed our stay.

    The cleanliness and well-equipped Facility you’d expect from a large Hotel really stood out. The Hotel’s large public bath was excellent, but the ocean spa fuua was even better—its seamless connection with the sea and the open, partition-free standing bath were outstanding. At night, we were lucky to be able to watch Yugawara’s fireworks from our Room. As for dining, if I had one wish, it would be having two venues instead of just one—then even a Multiple Night Stay might feel less repetitive.

    The dining area was ...

    The dining area was spacious, and the food was delicious—everything was excellent. There were also a well-equipped arcade and shop, so we enjoyed ourselves even while staying inside the Hotel. It was also great that there was a nearby ropeway to Atami Castle. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Atami.

    Stayed in an Excelle...

    Stayed in an Excellency Room. This was my fifth visit to Korakuen Hotel, and I enjoyed the familiar view as always. However, compared to previous stays, the quantity and quality of the meals had declined, which was disappointing. I also used the private open-air bath, but there appeared to be what looked like menstrual clots settled at the bottom, which was shocking. I assume it is cleaned properly, and even taking into account that it is an Onsen and a private open-air bath, it still made me feel very uncomfortable and turned the trip into a disappointing one.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    It was wonderful! We stayed for two nights, and the view from the Room was great, and the Onsen was also excellent! We will definitely stay here again when we visit Atami!

    Could you do something about dinner?

    The infinity bath was great. The other facilities were also reasonably satisfactory, but could you improve the meals—especially dinner? Even the sashimi selection was mostly low-cost items like local Japanese flying squid, horse mackerel, and yellowfin tuna... I took my wife because she wanted to try the bath once, but unfortunately she said she wouldn’t go again.

    Meals are available.

    As others have mentioned, the breakfast is extremely poor. Even a Business Hotel serves far better food. Nothing was replenished, and there was nothing left to eat, which was very disappointing.

    Stay on June 25

    The Hotel itself was very nice, but unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the view at all due to heavy rain and an approaching typhoon. We’d like to stay again next time with high expectations. It was a bit disappointing that the dining area and the spa were a little far from our Room. However, the Room was clean, and the staff were very pleasant.

    I stayed here when I...

    I stayed here when I was concerned about an approaching typhoon. It was a quick trip from Tokyo by Shinkansen, and there was a Shuttle Service from the station. Even though I arrived earlier than check-in time, I could complete the check-in procedures (the Room was available after 3:00 PM), so I left my luggage and went sightseeing. The Hotel was new and comfortable. It was convenient to use the large public bath without bringing towels, and there were discounts for nearby attractions such as the ropeway. Meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, including sushi, roast beef, and fried horse mackerel. Breakfast also included dried fish and several Atami-style dishes. Since I don’t drink alcohol, the free drinks weren’t much of a benefit for me. I could also use the spa Facility; although it was raining outside, I was able to relax and refresh indoors. It’s close by, so I’d like to visit again. It also seems like a fun place for families with children during summer vacation. I think it would be nice to come with my grandchildren as well.

    Solo travel

    We were lucky with the weather, and it was a fun trip. I had used Fuuwa a few times before, but this was my first stay, and I felt refreshed. Thank you very much. Next time, I’d love to watch the fireworks festival from the Tower Building.

    Overall, I was generally satisfied, except for the breakfast and the vending machines.

    It was a wonderful Accommodation. This was a mother–daughter trip (daughter in her 20s, mother in her 50s). Dinner was delicious—especially the alfonsino acqua pazza—and the experienced female dining hall staff member was efficient and attentive, making our stay very pleasant. The bath was amazing, especially the infinity standing bath. Highly recommended.

    This is our vacation home.

    No matter when I visit—spring, summer, autumn, or winter—I can relax in the wonderful scenery and atmosphere, so I use it like a private villa. The ocean view and Atami cityscape from the room, the sunset, night view, and sunrise… I’m moved every time. Dinner after unwinding at fuua is also exceptional. As a beer lover, I’m happy that delicious craft beer is now free-flowing—and I end up drinking too much. Each room type has its own charm (AQUA SQUARE and the Tower Wing), so I choose depending on my mood. AQUA SQUARE has a balcony where you can feel the fresh air, which is great in summer. Enjoying the view while feeling the breeze is unbeatable. Another big plus: even though it’s a large hotel, there are no inbound tour groups—so there’s no stress in the dining area or public baths. It would be perfect if there were hair ties among the amenities in the women’s spa on the 7th floor of fuua—I always forget mine… They do have them in the women’s large bath in the Tower Wing. Also, if you want to buy Atami Pudding, there’s a shop inside Korakuen Hotel—highly recommended. If you try to buy it after going to Atami Station, there’s usually a long line; here you can buy it without waiting and enjoy it at your leisure in a nearby free space. Thank you as always for your wonderful service. I’ll definitely continue staying with you.

    Very good.

    Everything was very good—90 points overall. However, this time the breakfast buffet felt like it had fewer items than usual. Maybe it was due to the typhoon? Thank you again, and I look forward to staying with you again.

    The sunrise over the ocean was beautiful—truly moving!

    Five years have passed since we moved from familiar Kitakyushu to Kobe, where our son lives. Since then, we’ve enjoyed traveling around the Kansai and Hokuriku regions, using Kobe as our base. This time, my wife said she wanted to see Mt. Fuji, so we took a trip to Atami. As members of the Zipangu Club, we rode the Hikari Shinkansen (we had time—no need for Nozomi). After passing Shizuoka and around Shin-Fuji Station, we were thrilled to see majestic Mt. Fuji—though the snow had already melted early and it looked almost completely dark (a little disappointing; next time we’ll come in winter). When we arrived in Atami, we were shocked—people of all ages everywhere. It was Sunday, but still: “Is this Harajuku?” That’s how crowded it felt. Then we headed to the Hotel by Shuttle Service. We had requested an ocean-view Room on the 8th floor when making our Reservation—the same floor shown on YouTube—and were assigned Room 808. The moment we stepped inside, an incredible view opened up before us: Sagami Bay right in front of us, Hatsushima in the bay, Oshima in the distance, and beyond that a wide horizon. We knew immediately—we chose the right Room. Inside was a large twin bed setup and a private open-air bath with a view. The Room was spacious—nothing to complain about at all. We went to the lounge for a beer first, then headed to the large public bath. The hot spring water is chloride-based—so relaxing! The open-air bath also had an ocean view—we were more than satisfied. For dinner this time, we kept it simple with food bought at Atami Station and then returned to the lounge again. Back in our Room, we prepared another soak in our private open-air bath. It was a truly satisfying day for both of us. In the morning around 4:30 a.m., the eastern sky gradually brightened—and then “Ah!” We saw the sun peeking over the horizon. It was beautiful. After another long soak in the large public bath area and checking out at 11:00 a.m., it was time—onward to our next Accommodation!

    The view is spectacular.

    I was able to use the fuua hot spring facility, and the standing bath with an ocean view was amazing. The view from the room was also great, and I had a wonderful time enjoying the delicious buffet—such as fried horse mackerel and Shizuoka oden—with free-flow drinks. It was fantastic overall. The only downside was that I’m not comfortable wearing only a yukata in the main building, so I had to bring my own pajamas. I would be happy if pajama-style sleepwear could be offered as an option.

    This was my third st...

    This was my third stay! I’ve always looked forward to the delicious dinner buffet, but this time it was somewhat disappointing, and it felt like there were fewer dishes than usual. Also, most of the serving plates were flat, which made it difficult to portion out the food. For Golden Week, there was a small game corner set up, and even adults could enjoy it with their family.

    Customer Service Attitude

    The front desk staff’s attitude was poor. They were not pleasant. Even though I booked through Ikkyu, I was dissatisfied because the room faced the mountain side.

    Three-Generation Family Trip

    A young couple with a toddler stayed in the 18-tatami Japanese-style room in the Tower Wing, while the older couple stayed in an Ocean View Twin in Aqua Square. The views were outstanding—both the ocean and the night scenery were beautiful—and our whole family was very satisfied with this long-established hotel, which has been renovated into a bright, modern space while making the most of its prime location. Our 2-year-old and elementary schooler enjoyed the playroom, and at the buffet we loved the all-you-can-drink local craft beers (two types), which were incredibly delicious. The karaoke room was spacious and spotless, so we could relax together like we were in our own living room. The loungewear in Aqua Square felt like resort wear, and even our 2-year-old had a jinbei provided in the Tower Wing. We also appreciated that towels are provided at the large public bath, so you can go empty-handed. It’s impressive how well-designed it is for guests of all ages, and it offers excellent value for money. We couldn’t visit Fuua next door because children aren’t allowed, but we’d love to come back next time specifically to try Fuua.

    Dust and dryness inside the property

    It may be unavoidable for this season, but because the property is carpeted throughout, there was a lot of dust in the air—especially in the room, where my phone screen even turned white from it. I may also have been affected by hay fever, but it was tough.

    Clean and well-maintained

    The large public bath was very clean. Staff were constantly cleaning the changing room and washbasins as well.

    I keep coming back.

    Atami is easily accessible from Tokyo, and I’ve loved the hotel’s open-air baths at the spa, so I’ve stayed here every winter for the past few years. The buffet was neither particularly good nor bad; the oven-baked dishes were decent, but despite being by the sea, the sashimi wasn’t very tasty and there weren’t many options. I also think samue-style loungewear would be more convenient than the current in-house wear.

    I was able to relax and feel refreshed in the hot spring.

    We stayed on the 14th floor in a Western-style room in the Tower Building. The ocean view was wide open and peaceful, and above all, the room was spacious and spotless—we were impressed the moment we walked in. The hot springs were incredibly relaxing, and with plenty of space we could unwind comfortably. We also appreciated having lockers with keys in the changing area. We were able to use Spa Fuua once for free, so we went after check-out. We fully enjoyed the open-air bath that feels like it connects to the sea, the hydrogen-rich hot spring, and even the stone sauna. There’s also a wonderful relaxation area where you can truly take it easy. We kept saying to each other, “We should have stayed two nights.” We weren’t sure where to stay in Atami, but choosing this place was absolutely the right decision!
