Family Trip
We visited with my parents and a family of six. The Room was Japanese-style, very spacious, and spotlessly clean, so we had a comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, with local specialties as well—very satisfying! We were surprised that even alcohol was all-you-can-drink, and everything was delicious. The front desk staff were excellent and we were very happy overall; the only drawback was the Room air conditioning, as the temperature couldn’t be set and only low/medium/high could be selected, so I’m giving it 4 stars. Next time, I’d like to check in earlier and relax at the Hotel!

We enjoyed our stay.
The cleanliness and well-equipped Facility you’d expect from a large Hotel really stood out. The Hotel’s large public bath was excellent, but the Ocean Spa fuua was even better—its seamless connection with the sea and the open, partition-free standing bath were outstanding. At night, we were lucky to be able to watch Yugawara’s fireworks from our Room. As for dining, if I had one wish, it would be having two venues instead of just one—then even a Multiple Night Stay might feel less repetitive.

The dining area was spacious, and the food was delicious—overall, it was very good. There were also a well-equipped arcade and shop, so we could enjoy ourselves even while staying inside the Hotel. It was also great that there was a nearby ropeway to Atami Castle. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Atami.

Stayed in an Excellency Room. This was my fifth visit to Korakuen Hotel, and I enjoyed the familiar view as always. However, compared with previous stays, the quantity and quality of the meals had declined, which was disappointing. I also used a private open-air bath, but there appeared to be what looked like menstrual clots settled at the bottom, which was shocking. I assume it is cleaned, and I understand this is an Onsen/private open-air bath environment, but it still made me feel very uncomfortable and turned the trip into a disappointing one.

I’d love to stay here again!
It was wonderful! We stayed for two nights, and the view from the Room was great, and the Onsen was also excellent! We’ll definitely stay here again when we visit Atami.

Could you do something about the dinner? It’s a bit lacking.
The infinity bath was great. The other facilities were also reasonably satisfactory, but could you improve the meals—especially dinner? Even the sashimi selection was mostly budget items like local Japanese flying squid, horse mackerel, and yellowfin tuna.... I took my wife because she wanted to try the bath once, but unfortunately she said she wouldn’t go again.

Meals are available.
As others have mentioned, the breakfast is extremely poor. Even a Business Hotel serves far better food. Nothing was replenished, and there was nothing left to eat, which was very disappointing.

Stay on June 25
The Hotel itself was very nice, but unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the view at all due to heavy rain and an approaching typhoon. We’d like to stay again next time with high expectations. It was a bit disappointing that the dining area and the spa were a little far from our Room. However, the Room was clean, and the staff were very pleasant.

I stayed here when I was concerned about an approaching typhoon. It was a quick trip from Tokyo by bullet train, and there was a Shuttle Service from the station. Even though I arrived earlier than the check-in time, they handled the procedures (the Room wasn’t available until after 3:00 PM), so I could leave my luggage and go sightseeing. The Hotel was new and comfortable. It was convenient to use the large public bath without bringing towels, and there were discounts for nearby attractions like the ropeway. Meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, including sushi, roast beef, and fried horse mackerel. Breakfast also had dried fish and a few Atami-style local dishes. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I didn’t get much benefit from the free drinks. I could also use the spa Facility; although it was raining outside, I was able to relax and refresh indoors. It’s close by, so I’d like to come again. It also seems like a fun place for families during summer vacation. I think it would be nice to visit with my grandchildren as well.

Solo travel
We were fortunate to have good weather, and it was a wonderful trip. I had used Fuuwa a few times before, but this was my first time staying overnight, and I felt refreshed. Thank you very much. Next time, I would love to watch the fireworks festival from the Tower Building.

Overall, I was generally satisfied, except for the breakfast and the vending machines.
It was a wonderful Accommodation. This was a mother-and-daughter trip (daughter in her 20s, mother in her 50s). Dinner was delicious, especially the alfonsino acqua pazza, and the experienced female dining hall staff member was efficient and attentive, making our stay very pleasant. The bath was amazing—especially the infinity standing bath. Highly recommended.

This is our vacation home.
No matter when I visit—spring, summer, autumn, or winter—I can relax in wonderful scenery and a beautiful setting, so I use it like a vacation home. The ocean view from the Room and the cityscape of Atami—sunsets, night views, and sunrises—move me every time. Dinner after unwinding at fuua is also exceptional. As a beer lover, I’m happy that delicious craft beer is now free-flowing, and I end up drinking a little too much. Both the AQUA SQUAR and Tower Wing Rooms have their own charms, so I choose depending on my mood. AQUA SQUAR has a balcony where you can feel the fresh air, which is great in summer. Enjoying the view while feeling the breeze is unbeatable. Even though it’s a large Hotel, it’s also a big plus that there are no inbound tour groups. There’s no stress in the dining area or large public bath. It would be perfect if hair ties were available among the amenities in the women’s spa on Level 7 of fuua—I always forget mine. They are available in the women’s large public bath in the Tower Wing. Also, if you’re buying Atami Pudding, there’s a shop inside Korakuen Hotel—highly recommended. If you try to buy it after going to Atami Station, there’s usually a long line; here you can buy it without waiting and enjoy it at your leisure in a nearby free space. Thank you as always for your wonderful service. I’ll continue to stay with you in the future.

Very good.
Everything was very good—90 points in every respect. However, this time the breakfast buffet seemed to have fewer items than usual. Perhaps it was due to the typhoon? I look forward to staying with you again.

The sunrise over the ocean was beautiful—truly moving!
Five years have passed since we moved from familiar Kitakyushu to Kobe, where our son lives. Since then, we’ve traveled widely from Kobe as a base—around Kinki and Hokuriku—and this time my wife said she wanted to see Mt. Fuji, so we took a trip to Atami. As members of the Japan Railways “Zipangu Club,” we rode the Hikari Shinkansen (we had time—no need for Nozomi). After passing Shizuoka, around Shin-Fuji we were thrilled to see majestic Mt. Fuji, though the snow had melted early and it was almost completely dark (a little disappointing—we’ll come again in winter). When we arrived in Atami, we were shocked—people of all ages everywhere. It felt like “Harajuku?” Even though it was Sunday, I couldn’t believe how crowded it was. Then we headed to the Hotel by Shuttle Service bus. Just as I had requested at the time of Reservation, we checked into Room 808 on the 8th floor—the same ocean-view room shown on YouTube. The moment we entered, Sagami Bay spread out before us: Hatsushima in the middle, Oshima in the distance, and beyond that an endless horizon. We were so glad we chose this Room. Inside was a large twin bed setup and a private open-air bath with a view. The Room was spacious—nothing to complain about at all. We went to the lounge for a beer first, then headed to the large public bath. The spring water is chloride-rich—so relaxing! The open-air bath also had an ocean view; truly satisfying. For dinner this time, we ate what we bought at Atami Station and then returned to the lounge again. Back in our Room, we prepared another soak in our private open-air bath. It was a wonderful day for both my wife and me. In the morning around 4:30, the eastern sky gradually brightened—and then “Ah!” We saw the sun peeking over the horizon. It was beautiful. After another long soak in the public bath area and checking out at 11:00, off we went—to our next Accommodation!

The view is spectacular.
I was able to use the Onsen Facility fuua, and the standing bath while looking out at the ocean was wonderful. The view from the Room was also great, and I had an amazing time enjoying the delicious buffet with free-flow drinks, including fried horse mackerel and Shizuoka oden. The only downside was that I’m not comfortable wearing only a yukata in the main building, so I had to bring my own pajamas. I would be happy if a pajama option could be offered as well.

This was my third stay! I’ve always looked forward to the delicious dinner buffet, but this time it was somewhat disappointing, and it felt like there were fewer dishes than usual. The small plates were mostly flat, which made it difficult to serve the food. For the Golden Week event, there was a small game corner set up, and even adults could enjoy it with their family.

Hospitality and Service Attitude
The front desk service was poor and not welcoming. Even though I made a Reservation through IKYU, I was dissatisfied because my Room faced the mountain side.

Three-Generation Trip
A young couple with a toddler stayed in a 18-tatami Japanese-style Room in the Tower Wing, while the elderly couple stayed in an ocean-view twin Room in Aqua Square. The views were outstanding—both the sea and the night scenery were beautiful—and our whole family was very satisfied with this long-established Hotel, renovated to be bright and modern while making the most of its prime location. The 2-year-old and elementary schooler enjoyed the playroom, and at the buffet, two kinds of local draft beer with all-you-can-drink were incredibly delicious. The karaoke room was spacious and clean, so we could relax together like we were in a living room. The loungewear in Aqua Square felt like resort wear, and in the Tower Wing they even provided jinbei for our 2-year-old. It was also great that towels were available at the large public bath, so we could go empty-handed. As expected, it’s designed so every generation can enjoy it, and it offers excellent value for money. We couldn’t visit Fuua because children aren’t allowed, but next time we’d like to come back specifically for Fuua.

Dust and dryness inside the property
It may be unavoidable given the season, but because the property is carpeted throughout, there was a lot of dust in the air—especially in the room, to the point that my phone screen turned white. I also think my hay fever played a part, but it was tough.

I’ve stayed here multiple times.
Atami is easy to reach from central Tokyo, and I’ve stayed at this Hotel every winter for the past few years because I love the open-air bath at the spa. The buffet meals were average; the oven-baked dishes were fairly good, but despite being by the sea, the sashimi wasn’t tasty and there wasn’t much variety. I also think samue-style loungewear would be more convenient than the current in-house wear.

I was able to relax and feel refreshed in the Onsen.
I stayed on the 14th floor in a Western-style Room in the Tower Building. The ocean view was wide open and peaceful, and above all, the Room was spacious and spotless—I was impressed the moment I walked in. The Onsen was incredibly relaxing, and it’s large enough to unwind comfortably. I also appreciated that the changing area has lockers with keys. Since I could use Spa fuua once for free, I went after check-out. I fully enjoyed the open-air bath that feels connected to the sea, the hydrogen-rich hot spring water, and even the stone sauna. There’s also a wonderful relaxation area where you can truly take it easy. My companion and I kept saying, “We should have stayed two nights.” We weren’t sure where to stay in Atami, but choosing here was absolutely the right decision.

A Luxurious Moment
Although the guest room (Excellency Room) showed slight signs of aging, the service, meals, and Facility were all of a very high standard, allowing us to relax and enjoy a luxurious stay. The value for money was excellent. As expected of the Korakuen Group, the staff are well trained.

It was excellent.
We chose Atami for a three-generation girls’ trip—my mother, my daughter, and me. We wanted an Accommodation with great food and ocean views from the Room, so we booked the tower building at this Hotel—and it was absolutely the right choice. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style with an excellent variety that satisfied all of us (in our 70s, 40s, and 20s), and the quality was outstanding. We were also impressed by the wide selection of drinks included in the free-flow plan. In particular, there wasn’t just Kirin Ichiban—there were also two kinds of the Hotel’s original craft beer, both delicious enough that I went back for several refills. Our Room was on the 11th floor of the tower building. We expected an ocean view, but we didn’t anticipate being able to enjoy Atami’s city lights at night as well—it was a wonderful surprise. All three generations of us were truly amazed by the beautiful night view. There are many places with sea views, but I think only Korakuen Hotel offers that incredible view over Atami’s cityscape. It’s a breathtaking景色 made possible by its location. The Onsen was also excellent in every way—views, water temperature, water quality, Facility features, and amenities. One more thing I personally loved was how fast the elevators were. You often hear that in large Accommodations with too few elevators—especially when nearly full—you end up waiting and it becomes stressful. I’ve experienced that at other Onsen destinations myself, but not here at all. As soon as you press the button one of three elevators arrives within seconds, and they move very quickly from the lobby floor up to the 11th floor. It made everything so comfortable. All of the Hotel staff were polite and kind as well—I genuinely felt this is a wonderful Hotel. It’s a place that makes me want to stay again next time I visit Atami.

Atami exceeded my expectations!
Although Atami is nearby, this was my first time staying overnight. This time I stayed at Korakuen Hotel, and the large Onsen bath was wonderful—I ended up soaking in it many times. Meals were free, including alcohol, so my family seemed to enjoy it as well. If I may make one request, I would be happy if fresh orange juice or tomato juice were available at breakfast. In any case, it was a great trip and I would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

A few months ago, I ...
A few months ago, I visited the Hotel’s on-site hot bath facility, Fuua, for a day trip and loved it—so this time I decided to stay overnight and enjoy it properly. Since I planned to spend very little time in the Room, I chose the “AQUA SQUARE Courtyard Twin” (no ocean view). I wasn’t expecting much, but when I opened the door, it felt new, clean, and instantly lifted my mood. Towels and bath towels are available at the large public bath, but they’re also provided in the Room. On the other hand, the amenities were about what you’d find at a business Hotel, which was a bit disappointing. There was only a token all-in-one skincare item (the same one was in the large public bath as well, but it had run out), while the men’s toiletries were surprisingly better. Guests can use Fuua once for free per stay, so after check-in I followed Fuua’s website “How to Spend Time at Fuua” model plan (overnight stay version). If you enter the restaurant wearing Fuua’s lounge wear, you can re-enter after your meal—so you can stay until close. The open-air standing bath in the spa is truly outstanding. It’s an infinity-style Onsen experience, and given the location there can’t be many Onsen facilities that can offer something like this. The night view is beautiful too, but if possible I highly recommend going while it’s still light out. The buffet was mainly Japanese-style dishes and was thoughtfully done with fresh vegetables and local ingredients. The freshly fried horse mackerel was fluffy and delicious, and the seasonal Izu & Sagami fair was fun. The Tanna Milk gelato was rich yet refreshing—excellent. The all-you-can-drink selection was also great: both craft beers (Kamome and Kujira) were tasty, especially the fruity Kamome—I went back for seconds. They also had sparkling wine, and sake options included Dassai and Masamune among others. That said, it wasn’t particularly luxurious or flashy overall—and being by the sea, I did wish they would put a bit more effort into items like sashimi—so I understand why some Reviews are less positive. The large panoramic bath in the tower building was spacious with a great view as well; however, it didn’t face sunrise as expected. Instead, we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise from the restaurant terrace. After checkout we left our luggage in guest lockers for sightseeing. Later we returned to relax with soft-serve ice cream. We bought souvenirs at La Izumarché (the Hotel shop) and then headed home on the Hotel Shuttle Service bus. Thank you very much for everything—we had a wonderful time.

I stayed with my elderly mother. We stayed in an ocean-view Room on the 6th floor of AQUA SQUARE. The view from the Room was wonderful, and we really enjoyed the scenery. Not only the Room but the entire Hotel was clean and well maintained. Since the large public bath was in the Tower building, we used the connecting passageway (outside). Heaters were placed along the passageway, and I felt it was a thoughtful touch to help guests stay warm. We chose the buffet, which was great because we could take as much of what we liked as we wanted. It also felt like a good deal, with one free entry to Fuua at the on-site spa and discounts for the Atami Ropeway. There is also a shuttle bus from Atami Station, which was very helpful for us since we were traveling by train. Everyone, including the front desk staff, was polite and pleasant. I would like to stay again.

After days of cold w...
After days of cold weather, I suddenly felt like soaking in an Onsen, so I visited Atami Korakuen Hotel. It came with one free pass to the Ocean Spa, and I fully enjoyed the scenic open-air standing bath and the hot stone sauna. Dinner was a 90-minute buffet, and with free-flow drinks—including beer, sake, and other alcoholic beverages—I was very satisfied. It was also fun (and delicious) to compare the local craft beers: Kujira Beer and Kamome Beer. I stayed in a mountain-side Room, but since my main purpose was enjoying the Onsen, it wasn’t an issue. The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. On the way home, I stopped by Kinomiya Shrine and Atami Plum Garden to enjoy early-blooming plum blossoms. It was a fulfilling 2-day/1-night trip to Atami!
