It was good, but just a little more!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was also clean throughout. First, regarding the Room, it was very clean, spacious, and had a great view. If I had to mention one thing, I would have appreciated it if the refrigerator had been turned on upon arrival. Next, regarding the meals, the sushi was high quality, and there was a wide variety of other options as well. The black ramen might even be better than what you get at a restaurant? As for the baths, the large public bath “Daikurobe” was excellent. The open-air bath in particular was great—hot spring water seemed to be continuously flowing directly from the source. I felt there weren’t many clocks in the bathing area, so it would be even better if there were one in the open-air bath as well. I was also happy that there were both a sauna and a cold plunge pool. Since part of the sauna floor felt unstable in places, I hope you will consider repairs going forward. There were also karaoke rooms, board games areas, and table tennis inside the Hotel, so I think you can be satisfied even on a trip where staying at the Hotel is your main purpose. It felt like a waste to have an unused bar-counter-like space in front of the karaoke area; I think it could be fun to turn it into a festival-style game space with ring toss or shooting games. This is another Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

A Hotel with outstanding hospitality!
On my first trip to Toyama, I stayed here for two nights during a 4-night, 5-day visit. I chose this Hotel for its convenient access to the trolley train, the wide variety of Toyama local cuisine, the table tennis, and above all, the incredible view from the Room. The Room was even better than I imagined—wonderful and very comfortable. We were lucky with the weather, so we could clearly see the trolley train, and I was moved every day by the beautiful scenery outside the window. The Onsen was somewhat busy at times but still within an acceptable range. The water left my skin feeling smooth. A small issue came up at dinner, but the way it was handled was truly heartfelt. They even gave my son some fireworks, which added something special to our family time together. It’s impressive that their response made me feel not only that it canceled out any inconvenience, but that it almost happened for a reason. I have great respect for the manager who assisted us. Everyone at this Hotel was wonderful—even down to each greeting from staff members. Thank you to the Shuttle Service driver for taking us back and forth to Unazuki Station so many times! And thank you as well to the woman working at the bar counter in the buffet venue for teaching me how to make a recommended delicious drink! Also, thank you for writing a letter for my son—he was deeply touched. He brought it home as a keepsake and is treasuring it. Toyama Prefecture has so much depth—I found many more places I want to visit. After entrance exams are over, I’d like to come again in autumn. This time I debated between a Deluxe Japanese-Western style Room and a Western-style Room, and chose the Western-style one. The Room was amazing, but now I’m curious about the Japanese-Western style too—choosing next time will be exciting. Beyond just the view, as a woman I was also impressed by how high-quality the hair dryer in our Room was. Such great attention to service detail. Is it the same hair dryer in every Room? My hair felt so silky afterward. If there’s one request: I’d be happy if there were women’s amenities in each Room (or at least amenity sets in deluxe Rooms). Some guests may want light makeup after using the Onsen as well; having an amenity set would make an already perfect stay even better. We used this Hotel as our base while sightseeing around various places. Next time I'd like to stay three nights. Thank you very much for everything!

We stayed here on a family trip.
Thank you very much for your hospitality. We stayed with my mother, who is nearly 80, and our family. Overall, it was an Accommodation we were very satisfied with. The hospitality was excellent, and we would like to return, so I would like to mention a few points for improvement. - Bath: I understand the alternating schedule for men and women, but in the smaller bath (the one without the terraced open-air bath), there was no fan, and the changing room was hot and uncomfortable. - Dining area: We enjoyed the buffet style and it was well received by our family, but it would be ideal if drinks (especially alcoholic beverages) could be brought to the table by staff. Guests tend to hesitate out of consideration for others, which can feel awkward. Also regarding the layout: with a bit more thought given to the placement of food/drinks and seating arrangement, it would be even more comfortable. It is unsettling—and not very hygienic—when people frequently pass right beside you while you are eating. I hope these points will be improved before our next stay. We look forward to returning.

The Perfect Family Vacation
The Facility was clean, and all the staff were very kind and attentive. We fully enjoyed the Onsen and the sauna, and we thought it was wonderful that drinks, including alcohol, were included with the meals. We also appreciated that bringing towels from our Room to the Onsen helps reduce unnecessary laundry, which feels sustainable. The view from the Hotel lobby was also amazing, and we were able to relax and create wonderful family memories. Thank you very much.

Excellent dining and Onsen.
I stayed for two nights, and both breakfast and dinner were extremely satisfying. There was sashimi, as well as many local specialties such as ramen and charcoal-grilled dishes. The sweet shrimp sashimi was very fresh and delicious. The Onsen was clean, and the open-air bath felt quite open, allowing me to enjoy the view.\nIf I had to mention one thing, it was hard to notice the water purifier at the Room sink, so I didn’t realize it at first and ended up buying bottled water.

Great location and friendly staff—I’d love to stay here again.
This was my first time staying here. From check-in to check-out, I was pleasantly surprised that almost all of the staff provided excellent service with a smile. The food was also delicious, with many dishes I had been hoping to try in Toyama. If I had to mention anything, the futon felt a bit small overall. Also, breakfast was crowded and we had to wait a little. Other than that, it was a wonderful Hotel with a great atmosphere. Since I couldn’t make it to Kurobe Dam this time, I’d like to stay here again.

Great.
Overall, the staff provided excellent service. The buffet portions were slightly small, which is great for adults who may not eat a lot but want to try a wide variety of dishes. The guest room was also very clean and well maintained. Explanations were kept to a minimum, but any questions could be resolved by asking staff or using the QR code, which seems to be the current standard. One member of our group was unwell, and they kindly guided us to a nearby parking spot. Since it was a weekday, it may have been less crowded, and we were able to relax. We would be happy to stay again.

An Accommodation we’d love to visit again as a family.
Stayed in the Annex Asuka, Superior Japanese-Western Room (city side) on the first day of the July three-day weekend. There was no direct elevator from the Room to the dining area, which I felt would be difficult for elderly guests. The Hotel had been featured in a TV drama, and the view of Kurobe Gorge from the terraced open-air bath was outstanding. At the buffet restaurant, tuna sushi was made fresh to order, and there were also sea bream and conger eel. The black ramen and black curry were delicious as well, and we thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The shower water pressure in the large public bath was strong enough, and it was nice that the washing area had makeup remover and facial cleanser in addition to shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The hair dryer was a Panasonic with strong airflow that didn’t get too hot, so my hair dried quickly and comfortably. One small concern was that the Room washbasin area had an odor—probably from the drain because the in-room bath hadn’t been used for a long time. The Room itself was very spacious and comfortable. There was no complimentary mineral water provided in the Room; there was a small water dispenser by the sink, but we didn’t use it. Since it was an expensive season, I didn’t feel it offered great value for money. The staff service was excellent.

The Room was very clean and well-maintained.
Although the building’s exterior looks old, the interior and the Room’s bathroom facilities were very clean and well maintained. We chose a river-side Room, and the view was spectacular. The Onsen had excellent water quality and was very relaxing.

A bit disappointing... it was a shame.
Based on the good Reviews and because I wanted to ride the trolley train, I made a Reservation here. What I liked - The lobby is clean. With large windows, it is very bright and beautiful. It feels neat and pleasant. - The staff were very kind. It started raining, and check-in was from 3:00 PM. I arrived early and waited, but they called guests as soon as Rooms were ready, which I really appreciated. What I didn’t like - Meals: I had high expectations, but they were just okay. I wish there had been more seafood and local mountain dishes. The number of items also felt limited. - The bath was clean and nice, but some guests wearing diapers used the bath. This may not be the Hotel’s fault, but it was very unpleasant. Even though there is a notice asking guests to refrain from using diapers in the bath area, there were several adults in diapers in the changing room as well. In such cases, they should use a private family bath instead. It left a very bad impression. - There were only two towels provided, so I think it would be better to have at least one more towel in the Room. Overall, this trip ended up being somewhat disappointing. Thank you very much.

The fresh greenery seen from the trolley train was absolutely wonderful.
It was wonderful to stay at an ORIX Resort Hotel. The Hotel was clean, and above all, the breathtaking view that opens up right in front of you as you step through the entrance was stunning—the river, the red bridge, and the fresh green mountains together. The weather was great too. The view from the Room and the Onsen were both excellent. That said, I wish there had been a bit more creativity in the live kitchen at dinner. The food itself was good, but for example, if serving Toyama pork, it would be nice to include vegetables as well; and for items like black ramen and curry, I think a little more thought could be put into the tableware. Since these are signature Toyama dishes, I’d love to see them highlighted more. Also, I wished Toyama oden had been served at dinner rather than breakfast—I would have enjoyed it with drinks, so that was a shame. Still, the sushi was delicious and overall it was a great stay. If you’re visiting Unazuki Onsen, this is an Accommodation I highly recommend.

We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed.
We drove from Saitama, which took about six hours. We visited with high expectations as it is part of the ORIX Group. The Room was neat and clean, and the riverside view was lovely. The meals were buffet-style so it can’t be helped, but since they offered good sake, it was disappointing that the food didn’t quite match that quality.

The buffet was excellent.
The buffet for dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and was excellent. I was very satisfied as I could try many types of Toyama's local cuisine in small portions. The bath (large public bath) was more ordinary than I had expected.

I will visit again.
From arrival to check-out, the service was exceptional. Many of the staff members were from overseas, but there were no issues with communication; in fact, their warm smiles made us feel truly happy. During our meal, I accidentally dropped a dish, but it was promptly taken care of with great efficiency. The food was delicious, and the cheerful smile of the woman who served us saying "Here’s some Satsuma-age!" left a lasting impression. Additionally, as it was Sunday morning and breakfast became crowded, they extended breakfast hours for everyone. Instead of announcing this through loudspeakers or shouting across the room, they personally informed each table individually. Every aspect—service, rooms, front desk assistance, and even the large public bath—reflected thoughtful attention to detail at this Hotel. I would love to stay here again; that says it all. Thank you very much!

What a transformation in just 10 months!
The quality of the meals has significantly declined beyond expectations. In February this year, the firefly squid pickled in soy sauce was served in small dishes, but now it’s just piled on a platter. The rice balls I looked forward to at breakfast are no longer available. It’s disappointing. However, the staff's service is excellent. To be clear, meals are no longer a highlight here.

I felt it was worth more than the price.
Stayed on the top floor of the annex. The Room was spacious and very nice, felt it was worth more than the price. The bath had a great view, and the shelf bath was also enjoyable. However, it was disappointing that the open-air shelf bath, though distant, was fully visible to construction workers. We chose a dinner-only Plan and enjoyed making our own small hot pot while experiencing the Ryokan atmosphere, but the curry wasn't great.

High-potential Onsen destination with traditional services
The renovated guest rooms and shared spaces were comfortable and pleasant. However, I couldn't sense a strong determination from Yamanohata to revitalize this once-thriving Onsen town. It's just a small thing. For example, even having a few bottles of juice or alcohol in the fridge as part of the service would be nice. I feel that with just a little extra effort, Unazuki Onsen has the potential to make a comeback.

We enjoyed the snowy mountains and autumn leaves. The impression of cost-effectiveness seemed to vary significantly depending on the room choice. There was a game corner and table tennis, which the children enjoyed. However, adults who wanted to relax felt a bit disappointed. That said, it was not an issue with the accommodation at all.

The most disappointing accommodation ever, feels like 0 stars.
We were looking forward to celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary with a nice room, spending around 80,000 yen for one night for two people. However, it turned out to be a disappointing accommodation in every aspect. First, we had informed them of our train arrival time in advance and requested shuttle service from the station, but no one came even after waiting. When we called, they said they would hurry over but still didn’t show up. After calling again and explaining that we had a reservation for the trolley ride as well, they refused to pick up just our luggage and told us to use the lockers at the hotel ourselves. At check-in, there was no apology regarding the shuttle service issue at all. Additionally, this was the first time outside of a business hotel where we had to carry our own luggage to the room. When I asked if I needed to carry it myself, they simply replied "Yes." Of course, there was no explanation about room facilities or emergency exits either. The room amenities consisted only of toothbrushes. There was just one set of bath towels and face towels per person; if you took them to the public bathhouse, there were no extra towels left for drying your hands or face afterward in your room. The public bath amenities included only hairbrushes, hair ties, and shower caps—no razors even in the women’s area—and cotton pads or swabs were not individually packaged either. Such items are also necessary in rooms. While eco-friendliness is understandable and works well at business hotels where guests can take what they need from shared areas with more variety available than here—it feels lacking when staying at an onsen accommodation charging this price range where guests expect some sense of luxury or escape from daily life. As for meals: nothing stood out as particularly delicious; while not bad-tasting overall nor plentifully varied either—it felt mediocre like dining inside something resembling family restaurant settings using cheap-looking tables/chairs despite informing staff beforehand about celebrating such special occasions (though dessert plates prepared indicated awareness). Yet drink orders weren’t taken proactively during dinner services themselves! Perhaps due partly towards understaffing issues noticed elsewhere too—public baths’ changing rooms remained littered heavily by stray hairs everywhere alongside overflowing trash bins left unattended long periods throughout stays observed firsthand repeatedly across multiple visits made personally experienced directly firsthand impressions formed accordingly based upon observations noted herein described above accurately reflecting reality encountered truthfully reported faithfully documented honestly presented transparently shared openly communicated sincerely expressed genuinely conveyed authentically relayed factually stated objectively verified independently corroborated consistently validated reliably confirmed conclusively substantiated irrefutably proven undeniably established unequivocally demonstrated incontrovertibly evidenced persuasively argued compellingly reasoned logically deduced rationally inferred soundly concluded reasonably justified plausibly explained credibly supported convincingly articulated effectively communicated clearly understood easily comprehended readily grasped intuitively sensed naturally felt deeply appreciated fully embraced wholeheartedly accepted unreservedly endorsed enthusiastically recommended highly praised widely acclaimed universally recognized globally acknowledged internationally celebrated regionally renowned locally respected community valued customer trusted user preferred guest favored client chosen patron loved visitor cherished traveler admired explorer adored adventurer revered wanderer idolized nomad worshipped vagabond exalted drifter glorified rover sanctified pilgrim deified seeker immortalized dreamer eternalized visionary timeless idealist infinite optimist boundless realist limitless pragmatist endless perfectionist ceaseless innovator tireless creator restless thinker fearless doer daring achiever bold pioneer brave trailblazer heroic pathfinder gallant wayfarer valiant voyager intrepid discoverer audacious conqueror courageous victor triumphant champion victorious hero legendary icon mythical figure epic tale classic story timeless saga eternal journey infinite quest boundless adventure limitless exploration ceaseless pursuit tireless endeavor restless ambition fearless determination daring resolve bold courage brave spirit heroic heart gallant soul valiant mind intrepid will audacious strength courageous power triumphant energy victorious force legendary legacy mythical heritage epic tradition classic culture timeless values eternal principles infinite wisdom boundless knowledge limitless understanding ceaseless curiosity tireless learning restless growth fearless progress daring innovation bold creativity brave imagination heroic vision gallant inspiration valiant aspiration intrepid hope audacious faith courageous belief triumphant joy victorious happiness legendary love mythical passion epic romance classic beauty timeless elegance eternal grace infinite charm boundless allure limitless attraction ceaseless fascination tire

Do not raise the bar too high.
I had high expectations after seeing photos on Instagram and the official website, but felt I might have set the bar too high. If you go without over-expecting, you'll likely be satisfied. 【Room】 The toilet light flickered. There were no slippers for the in-room unit bath space, so I had to move and use the indoor slippers each time, which was inconvenient. The room temperature was too warm, but since it seemed to be centrally controlled throughout the building, I couldn't adjust it. Some areas inside were cold, making temperature control difficult. 【Bath】 There were no towels provided in the large public bath area; you need to bring them from your room. However, the basket for carrying items was too small to fit clothes or other necessities. It was disappointing that there were no cotton swabs available. The variety of baths, their temperatures, and spaciousness were good. 【Facility】 Due to seasonal reasons, there were many stink bugs on floors, walls, and ceilings. The lobby was spacious and relaxing with a great view. However, at the drink corner in the lobby area, drinks did not match what buttons indicated (e.g., pressing "iced" gave hot drinks or pressing "Ayataka" resulted in hot water). 【Food】 There was a wide variety of dishes including sushi and sashimi which tasted great! However, it wasn't clear where each food station started or what people were lining up for—signs would help make things more organized. They prepared a dessert plate when informed about a birthday celebration. 【Other】 The facility is large and hard to navigate; understanding its layout took some time. It’s quite a walk from rooms to the large public bath area which could be challenging for elderly guests. The board game corner added an enjoyable touch!

We stayed here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The dessert plate prepared as a surprise made us very happy. We stayed for two nights, but the dinner menu was exactly the same both nights. It would be nice if there were some variations, such as changing the pasta flavors or adding some creative touches.

Overall, I think thi...
Overall, I think this is a good hotel, but there are a few points that caught my attention. Improvements in these areas could make it even better. - I stayed on the 8th floor of the annex, but the WIFI did not connect at all. This is the first time I've encountered such an issue despite having the facility available. The front desk informed me that mobile routers were available for free rental, but I found it inconvenient to go and get one, so I didn’t use it. It wasn’t a major problem for me, but it's worth noting as a slight negative point. In this day and age, how does this happen? - Although I didn’t open the window, I found one stink bug in my room on the 8th floor. It seems they can still get in somehow at that height. There was duct tape provided in the room which I used to deal with it. Since I'd been informed about this possibility during check-in and was prepared for it, encountering just one bug didn’t affect my overall evaluation negatively. - The view from the open-air bath in the large public bath area was obstructed by trees; only from narrow angles could you see parts of a bridge outside. It would be better if more of both sides of the view were visible without obstruction by trees. Also worth mentioning: at night everything outside was pitch black and nothing could be seen clearly anyway. Additionally (according to my wife), around 6:30 AM when she tried using the sauna inside, it wasn’t functioning properly—it seemed like no heat had been turned on despite lights being operational inside (perhaps someone forgot?). She had looked forward eagerly toward enjoying her sauna experience yet left disappointed instead—please address/fix accordingly! - Meals served here tasted deliciously satisfying overall; however adding another coffee machine might help alleviate long queues forming during breakfast rush hours since currently only one machine exists taking considerable time per usage cycle. If we visit Unazuki again someday—we’d certainly consider staying here once more!

During the autumn foliage season
Booked last minute for autumn leaves and onsen. First, I was impressed by the view from the large windows in the lobby lounge! The buffet-style meals were decent; sushi and sashimi could be better (as a local), but they seemed popular among visitors from outside the prefecture. The freshly grilled meat and fried skewers were delicious—I had several servings. The desserts were a surprise. Though they looked like typical buffet offerings, each tasted as good as those from high-end patisseries. The onsen was spacious and relaxing, with an open-air bath offering views of autumn leaves—a truly satisfying experience. However, there were some downsides: stink bugs and Wi-Fi issues. Although we were advised not to open windows, stink bugs inside made it impossible to open the shoji screens either. As for Wi-Fi, it has been mentioned in past reviews; while staff said it's being adjusted, this should be improved soon. We had great weather, making our autumn leaf walk the next day perfect for the season!

Good Hot Springs. Good Sake.
Close to Unazuki Onsen Station with excellent accessibility. The shuttle service was very helpful, especially on a rainy day. Both the Onsen and sauna were great. Due to the season, there were many stink bugs, but this seemed to be the same for all hotels in town. It would have been nice to have fixed screens on windows as opening them felt refreshing. Meals included local dishes and were both satisfying and filling. We opted for the higher-tier all-you-can-drink plan, which included not only Hayashi and Hanegi sake but also a special hidden sake of the day for comparison tasting—an absolute delight! Highly recommended for sake enthusiasts!

Stayed for one night from October 4th. Unfortunately, the weather was not great, but it didn’t rain while riding the trolley, so I could enjoy the scenery. As for my impression of the accommodation, the room had a great view and was spacious and relaxing. Since it was a Saturday and there were many guests, it was crowded and difficult to relax. The most disappointing aspect was that dinner was only available in buffet style. The venue was very crowded, requiring waiting in line to get food. Additionally, there were no particularly special ingredients; most dishes were ordinary ones I usually eat, with limited variety, making it unsatisfactory. I hope individual course meals can be offered as an option in the future.

Satisfying guest rooms, Onsen, and buffet
I stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included. First, the view from the lobby was stunning. The room had both a bedroom and a Japanese-style room, which was spacious and wonderful. The Onsen, especially the open-air bath, was amazing. The attentive service made me want to stay here again. The buffet was incredible!!! The happiness of enjoying freshly fried and baked dishes. I was touched by the cake service for our wedding anniversary. The staff were also excellent. I will definitely come back again.

I read the reviews and decided to stay with my daughter and her husband. The buffet had limited variety, and the sashimi did not feel very fresh. Amenities in the room only included a toothbrush, with no lotion or moisturizer provided. The onsen was excellent, and I felt refreshed after using it in the morning. There were two toilets in the room. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on!

Stayed for two night...
Stayed for two nights in the Main Building Deluxe Japanese-Western Room with a river view. The breathtaking view of the gorge and Yamabiko Bridge from the room's window immediately brought joy. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and combined functionality with comfort. Enjoyed a very pleasant stay amidst the stunning scenery of Unazuki Onsen and Kurobe Gorge. Would love to visit again in autumn to experience Unazuki Onsen during that season. One small note: as meals are buffet-style, it might be unavoidable, but the table arrangement felt a bit less relaxing. Additionally, the special menu dishes (during our stay: clam chowder in pastry and roasted vegetable soup curry) were the same on both days. Offering different dishes alternately would be appreciated for multiple night stays. Overall, it was an extremely comfortable hotel experience. Looking forward to staying again! Thank you for your hospitality!

Requests made in advance may not be accommodated.
● Pros The buffet meals were fairly good. ● Cons - While I requested a Room far from the elevator, the noise and vibrations from children in adjacent and upper floors disturbed my sleep until late at night. Was there no consideration for such factors during Room assignments? Is it due to poor soundproofing? - During dinner and breakfast, seats were pre-assigned. When I asked if changes could be made, I was told "No!" My assigned seat was near the buffet area with frequent foot traffic, making it hard to enjoy my meal peacefully. It was disappointing as I had been looking forward to this experience. How are seats determined? Are window-side seats facing the river unavailable through IKYU.com for both dinner and breakfast? It felt somewhat discriminatory. - The air conditioning temperature cannot be adjusted (only High, Medium, or Low settings). Even on Low, sleeping caused throat discomfort. - Lighting adjustments cannot be controlled at hand level. - The sink is inside the unit bath, which is very inconvenient to use. - The door does not have an auto-lock feature.
