A lovely place to stay with warm hospitality.
We got lost on the steep, narrow road to the inn, but the staff gave us detailed directions over the phone, and we arrived safely. The hostess and all the staff welcomed us warmly, and our room’s peaceful natural surroundings made it easy to relax. The private bath and the semi-open-air bath in our room were a little lukewarm but very pleasant, and a long soak left us feeling warm all over. Every dish was delicious, especially the soup, sashimi, and shrimp tempura wrapped in tofu skin. We had a wonderful stay at this quiet inn. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

Heartfelt hospitality
The staff were all very courteous and genuine, rather than following a script. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I was very satisfied. There was also a good selection of alcoholic drinks. The private road leading off the public road is quite narrow and steep, so popping out for a quick shopping trip by car isn’t easy. In return, though, you get a lovely, peaceful place to relax, surrounded by lush greenery.

Unfortunately.
The private reservable bath was out of order. The proprietress explained that it had broken down a week ago and that the replacement parts were ordered today. If we had been informed in advance, we could have changed our dates, but finding out only after arrival was disappointing. Was this to avoid cancellations? There was no notice on the website either. The reservation details stated that beer and chu-hi in the refrigerator were complimentary, but there was only water and tea. When I worked up the courage to ask, they said they had forgotten and brought room-temperature beer and chu-hi, saying they weren’t chilled (which made me laugh). Wi‑Fi didn’t work in the room; when I asked about it, they replied with a laugh that Wi‑Fi works at the front desk. The Diamond benefit of late checkout also wasn’t mentioned unless we requested it ourselves—they gave us the standard checkout 안내 instead. As for the food, the “shinjo” in the soup bowl didn’t seem handmade but rather processed fish paste, and breakfast included many processed items as well—perhaps my expectations were too high.

I was satisfied for the first time in a while.
In recent years, I’ve often been disappointed with hot spring inns costing JPY 30,000–50,000 per person, but this one felt like a great value for the price. The food in particular was outstanding—rather than relying on the typical Izu lineup of abalone, spiny lobster, and golden eye snapper as an easy selling point, each dish was thoughtfully prepared. The steamed white rice and red miso soup were especially delicious. When searching the route to the inn on Google Maps, two options appear; however, both roads were so steep that we had to turn back. Also, when I asked whether it was possible to walk to the sea, I was told it would take about 40 minutes, but it actually took 15 minutes. I felt it would be helpful if the staff checked routes on Google Maps themselves and tried walking to the beach once so they can provide guidance from a guest’s perspective.

I fell in love with this place.
All the staff gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. The bath in our room was spotless, and the amenities, including ReFa products, were excellent. The food was delicious too. We would definitely love to stay again.

The warm hospitality...
The warm hospitality, peaceful atmosphere, and delicious meals made with local ingredients were all wonderful and made for lovely memories. The shuttle service to and from Izu-Kogen Station was a great help. We’ll be back for another relaxing stay.

Disappointing
With the high review ratings, semi-open-air baths in the rooms, and a private open-air bath, I was really looking forward to enjoying the hot springs. However, upon arrival, we were told that the private open-air bath was unavailable due to the previous week’s typhoon. Since it is advertised in the property description, I felt we should have been notified in advance. We tried to put this behind us and were shown to our room, but when I went to use the semi-open-air bath, the water was cold. I have stayed at many properties with in-room open-air baths, but this was my first experience of finding one filled with cold water. I immediately called the front desk and was told they would look into it. They called back a while later to say they had turned on a switch (the power?) and that the bath would be ready in 20 minutes. That was all they said, in a matter-of-fact manner. In the end, the water was still not warm after 20 minutes, and we had to wait over 40 minutes before we could finally use the bath. The incident had not been reported to the proprietress or anyone else in charge. At checkout, she said she was hearing about it for the first time when we brought it up. The facilities were also rather dated, and the toilet drained poorly when flushed, nearly overflowing several times. The food was delicious and the proprietress was very helpful, so it was a real shame that these issues spoiled the stay.

Relax in nature
I stayed here during a visit back home from overseas. It’s a lovely place surrounded by nature. The staff’s hospitality, the room, the baths, and the food were all outstanding. I was able to truly relax for the first time in a while and had a wonderful stay. A squirrel even paid a surprise visit to the terrace. I highly recommend this place and would love to return.

Very disappointing!!!
I booked because the reviews were excellent. I was really looking forward to the stay, which made it all the more disappointing. There was no confirmation call shortly before our stay. Since a pickup service was advertised, I called on the day, but we had to wait 30 minutes because they had another pickup scheduled. At check-in, I asked whether the sashimi could be changed because my travel companion cannot eat oily fish, but I was told changes could not be made on the day. I hadn't known this when booking, so I hadn't mentioned it in advance. Perhaps it couldn't be helped, but still... Perhaps it was because of the prolonged rain, but the room smelled musty the moment we entered. There was hair in the clothes basket and scattered around the room, making the cleaning seem careless. The brown towel on the towel rail by the sink was covered in pills, and I really didn't feel comfortable drying my hands with it. I don't even have towels like that at home. Apart from that, the only towels provided were bath towels and the towel in the amenities bag. There were no hand towels or face towels. There was a sofa in the room, but it was hard to see the TV from there. I thought I would watch from the low table instead, but there were no floor cushions, so I searched the closet and got them out myself. We couldn't use the garden terrace because of the rain, and nothing felt newly renovated. This is just my personal opinion, but I didn't think the stay was worth the price before applying reward points. The one positive was that all the staff were very nice.

One-of-a-kind hospitality, dining, and hot springs
From the warm welcome by the entire staff to the attentive service, departure photos, and other lovely surprises, we were continually touched by the thoughtful gestures that made our stay so memorable. Thank you for making our 30th wedding anniversary so special. The proprietress and every member of staff offered genuinely heartfelt hospitality, reflecting what must be excellent staff training. Seeing a wild squirrel was another delightful, soothing moment. The beautifully prepared, delicious meals, the in-room semi-open-air bath always kept at just the right temperature, and the amenities were all wonderful. With such good value for money, this inn is perfect not only for special occasions but also for everyday getaways. We have stayed at many inns in Izu Kogen, and Yumeno-ya is honestly among the very best. It may well become our regular place to stay in the area. We eagerly look forward to the reopening of the private open-air rock bath.

A wonderful accommodation you’ll want to recommend to friends
I had assumed Izu Kogen had many Hotels aimed at younger guests and families, so I was delighted to find this Accommodation was perfect for seniors. From the warm welcome on arrival to the send-off at departure, they thoughtfully provide the kind of attentive touches that many modern Hotels tend to skip, making the stay truly relaxing and comforting. The Room Facilities were excellent as well—an in-room Onsen and a very comfortable bed allowed us to unwind completely. The refrigerator is stocked with complimentary bottled water and tea. If you want canned beer or similar items, it’s best to buy them at a convenience store before check-in. Both dinner and breakfast are served in private dining rooms for each guest Room, which makes it quiet and relaxing. To reach the front desk or dining area, there are stairs from every guest Room; however, even though they are outdoor stairs, they are covered and not steep, so it was fine for us even in our late 60s. As for the meals, dinner did not feature luxury ingredients, but there were many dishes and everything looked and tasted great. Breakfast felt a little light on side dishes, but I think it suits senior guests well. While being shown to our Room at check-in, we saw squirrels running through the trees—and the next morning one even came to visit our terrace. The Onsen, the meals, and those adorable squirrels made it all wonderful. My sincere thanks to all of the outstanding staff at this Accommodation.

A Welcoming Accommodation
From the entrance of the Accommodation, we felt warmly welcomed. Every staff member was very pleasant, yet never intrusive, and we had a truly wonderful time. A wild squirrel even appeared on the Room terrace, and the birdsong was so soothing. We were also able to enjoy our meals at a relaxed pace. At check-out, we received kind words that made us feel glad we came—this was an Accommodation that left us feeling that way. We also enjoyed both Mt. Omuro and Mt. Komuro. Thank you very much.

We had a relaxing stay!
We chose this Accommodation to recover from summer fatigue. It was truly quiet and relaxing, and the Onsen was comfortable and helped soothe our summer tiredness. The meals were delicious, and all the staff were kind, so we had a very pleasant stay. However, by coincidence... an earthquake alert sounded in the middle of the night, and there was an earthquake. Thankfully it wasn’t serious, but I felt that if there had been some announcement from the Hotel about the situation when the alert sounded, we would have felt more at ease. Thank you very much for taking care of us. We would love to visit again if we have another opportunity.

Family Trip
We made a Reservation for two Rooms. One Room had an issue with the air conditioner, so I deducted a star. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. Thanks to the Diamond benefits, we enjoyed sparkling wine at dinner and a late check-out, which allowed us to relax.

I was able to relax quietly.
We stayed here as a couple in our late 50s. Since all Rooms are separate villas, we were able to relax quietly without hardly running into other guests. Both the in-Room bath and the private reservable bath were excellent. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the portions were just right. The person who seemed to be the proprietress and took care of our meals was very courteous, even seeing us off at the end. All of the staff greeted us with smiles and cheerful hellos, which made our stay very pleasant. We had the best Obon holiday. Thank you very much.

The Ultimate Relaxation Time
This hidden-gem Accommodation was a bit hard to find at first, but thanks to the clear directions we received, we arrived safely. Once you know the way, it’s simply a matter of turning off the main road onto a side street and heading downhill. We came in a large vehicle, and the road was no problem. After arriving, we were warmly welcomed; starting with greetings from the proprietress, our relaxing stay began. The Room was spacious, and the semi-open-air bath was also large, with a calm view surrounded by bamboo groves. With the soothing sound of flowing hot spring water and birds and insects as background music, we didn’t even turn on the TV—we just quietly enjoyed the scenery. Because it’s so close to nature, thoughtful measures against insects were also in place. Meals were served in a private dining room; they kindly accommodated even detailed requests, and everything was wonderfully satisfying—we were truly impressed. We would love to visit again. They kept waving goodbye for quite some time until the very end, which warmed our hearts. Thank you so much for such a genuinely relaxing stay.

It was a cozy accommodation.
It was a very comfortable Accommodation with a high level of satisfaction. In particular, the hostess and staff provided service with just the right sense of distance, which made our stay truly pleasant. My father, who turns 95 this year, was also in great spirits. We will definitely visit again.

A Highly Satisfying Accommodation
We weren’t able to use the private terrace this time, but the Room was made up of two connected spaces with no partition, creating an open and airy atmosphere filled with soft light from the windows. It was very spacious, and we were able to relax wholeheartedly. The warm hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff was truly wonderful. Even in our casual conversations, we could feel their kindness, and throughout our stay we enjoyed a calm and comfortable time. The carefully prepared, delicious meals were also outstanding—an indulgent and happy experience that left both our hearts and stomachs full. When we mentioned that this was our 40th wedding anniversary trip, they kindly offered a heartfelt celebration. Their thoughtfulness deeply moved us. We could enjoy the semi-open-air bath in our Room as many times as we liked at any time, at a leisurely pace. The spacious private bath also felt wonderfully open and refreshing, leaving us relaxed in both body and mind. It was truly a lovely Accommodation—one that made us sincerely think, “We want to come back again.” Next time, we would definitely like to use the private terrace.

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday and our wedding. The staff provided excellent service, and both the food and the celebration cake were delicious, so we were very satisfied. Receiving a birthday gift from the Accommodation as we were leaving also became a wonderful memory. This is an Accommodation we would like to stay at again.

It was amazing!!!
This Accommodation was simply outstanding. With only a small number of guest Rooms, it was very quiet and relaxing. The open-air bath in the Room was especially amazing, and it washed away my everyday work fatigue and stress. The meals were also excellent and truly delicious. The flavors were generally light, yet each dish made the most of the ingredients and tasted wonderful. All of the staff provided very pleasant service. Thank you for two wonderful days.

We’ll be back!
I’d known about this Accommodation for quite a long time, and finally got to visit. I thought it might be old, but that wasn’t the case at all—the Facility was clean and well maintained, everything was spotless, and it was very easy to use. The Room felt more spacious than it looked in the photos on the website. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept like a log. I’m also glad I could get lymphatic drainage at my preferred time! Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. From check-in through meals, the staff member who assisted us provided such pleasant service with a wonderfully steady professionalism, so I was able to relax completely. At dinner, they kindly left the wasabi until the end so I could put it on my rice! The bath was clean as well, with a perfect temperature—I went in several times. They also had small items like you’d find at a shop (a heel file, collagen face wash, etc.), which made me quietly happy. When I tried to do some work at night and use the free Wi‑Fi, I didn’t know the password and ended up calling the front desk late—but they promptly brought me a QR code with the password. Thank you for your help! Next time I’d like to visit with my family as well—thank you in advance!

All staff provide exceptional hospitality at this Accommodation.
Thanks to the warm hospitality of the proprietress, the attendants, and everyone at the Accommodation, we had a very comfortable stay. The head chef’s heartfelt, carefully prepared dishes were also wonderful. (The Accommodation’s special chili miso recommended by our attendant was delicious.) The timing of each course was perfect for us. The birdsong was soothing as well. This is a small-scale Accommodation that treats each guest with great care—an Accommodation like this is one I hope will become more common. Thank you very much for everything during our stay. It’s an Accommodation we would definitely love to visit again.

It was an excellent Accommodation.
The Shuttle Service, pickup, and drop-off were courteous and excellent. All of the meals were delicious, beautifully presented, and colorful. When I mentioned that I don’t drink alcohol, they kindly replaced the aperitif with juice. The Room had a semi-open-air bath, so I could enjoy it little by little as many times as I wanted—perfect for an Onsen lover like me. Since each Room is separate from the others, I was able to relax without worrying about the surroundings. It was my first stay here, but I will definitely return in autumn and winter. Thank you very much.

It was really great.
The building is a bit old, but it is well maintained and kept clean. The Room is in a separate annex, and there is a somewhat long staircase. Housekeeping was thorough, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Onsen bath in the Room was excellent in both water quality and temperature, and I ended up soaking many times. The meals were just right for me in both seasoning and portion size. The staff were also very courteous and attentive. It’s a quiet location—not really for strolling around—but perfect for a relaxing stay-in getaway.

The hospitality was excellent.
The stairs up to the Room were a slight concern, but the hostess was very attentive, and the hospitality at mealtimes—both in service and in the food itself—was more than satisfying. The private bath was spacious, and we also enjoyed the in-Room hinoki bath. We even met two charming squirrels that popped their faces out onto the balcony. We would definitely like to return in another season.

We stay here every y...
We stay here every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday, and no matter how many times we visit, it’s an Accommodation that always makes us want to come back. Once again, we are grateful for the wonderful hospitality, exceptionally delicious meals, and spotless guest room. We will visit again for next year’s anniversary.

Surrounded by nature
We were able to relax and unwind surrounded by nature. We were welcomed by the song of Japanese bush warblers, and a squirrel even appeared on the balcony. It was wonderful to soak in the Onsen in our Room while taking in the greenery at a leisurely pace. The food and service were both excellent.

I used this place for my proposal.
We stayed in a detached guest room with a private open-air bath. Among the various ryokans we researched, this one had excellent reviews and ratings overall, making it perfect for a proposal. As expected from the reviews, it was indeed a wonderful ryokan. They took care of everything from holding onto our photos and ring to preparing cake and champagne, providing exceptional hospitality from start to finish. We felt at ease and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. As mentioned in other reviews, squirrels appeared as if celebrating with us, which made us very happy! They don't come over the fence to this side, so there's no need to worry about that. The proposal was successful, so we will definitely return for an anniversary trip! Thank you very much!

The hospitality is excellent.
This was my first stay here. Although I arrived a bit earlier than planned, they promptly picked me up at the station by car after a quick phone call and even dropped me off at a tourist spot on my way back. The staff's attentiveness during meals was exceptional, and they kindly brought the wine I couldn't finish to my Room with a glass. The meals were delicious and perfectly portioned. The Room was clean, and above all, the natural hot spring bath had perfect water temperature—I think I bathed 6 to 7 times! The quality of the spring water improved my metabolism and left me feeling rejuvenated. It turned out to be an amazing holiday at the end of the year. Thank you very much!
