    Breakfast buffet

    I heard that a group would arrive from 7:30, so I came a little after 7:00. A long line formed at the meat grilling station, and even guests who did not want that item had to wait in the same line. Perhaps it would be better to move the popular meat station to a different location. Overall, all of the food tasted very good. The advance notice about the group was also very thoughtful and much appreciated.

    Conveniently located near Osaka Castle and close to Kyobashi Station, offering easy access to central Osaka. Enjoy a large public bath with a sauna and open-air bath, plus a satisfying breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options.

    A little more.

    It was my first stay in a while. I think it could be even better if the Hotel Facility were improved. The service was better than at other Hotel Monterey properties in Osaka. As with other Monterey properties, the dining area is small, which is disappointing because it’s hard to relax and enjoy the meal. In the Room (triple), the floor around the extra bed was sticky and my slippers kept catching on it. Wiping it didn’t help, so I think it should be checked. The shower water pressure was weak. It would be better to replace the showerhead with a different one than the current model. I also noticed a slight odor in the bathroom. The curtains are difficult to close and don’t close properly, leaving a small gap, so it may be worth replacing them. I think it would be good if the spa lounge were separated into an independent area, even if there is an additional fee. I would like to stay again.

    This Hotel is a relaxing place to unwind.

    The Onsen Facility was excellent, and my wife—who loves Onsen—was able to relax to her heart’s content. She was in a great mood even on the drive home. However, it was disappointing that we couldn’t use the lounge during our morning bath. Still, she liked it so much that we made a Reservation for next month.

    You can get here from the station without getting wet in the rain!

    It was conveniently close to Osaka-jo Hall, and the spa was excellent. I’d like to stay here again when I attend a concert at Osaka-jo Hall.

    The puzzle-solving was fun.

    I stayed with the puzzle-solving Plan. The well-designed puzzles were a great mental workout. Completed in 2 hours. I love puzzle-solving, so I’d definitely like to join if there are more Plans like this. The spa facilities were also excellent, and I was satisfied.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    Considering the price, Facilities, and services, I was very satisfied. Many of the staff were cheerful and had great smiles. I had a very pleasant stay. I would like to use this hotel again on my next business trip.

    A good Hotel. Unfortunately, the female front desk staff at check-in was disappointing.

    This is a great value Hotel. Some say the building is old, but I think it has a nice classic feel. I have stayed here several times, but this was the first time I felt uncomfortable with a staff member’s attitude. At check-in, the female front desk staff member followed the standard script and there was nothing technically wrong with what she said, but her tone was cold and her expression seemed indifferent and bothered (to the point that I wondered if I had done something wrong or if she was in a bad mood). At that moment, all I did was ask to check in, so that shouldn’t have been the case. If it’s like this, I’d rather they just provide a self-service machine for check-in. The front desk staff on both sides of her spoke very calmly. The male front desk staff member who answered my question about the Accommodation Tax was also very helpful and not annoyed at all. The female front desk staff member at checkout also had a pleasant expression and tone, and checkout felt comfortable. I’m sure it was just bad luck this time.

    The disposable razors have poor performance. Both of the two were the same, so I don’t think it was a one-off issue. I hope the quality can be improved.

    It was very comfortable.

    We stayed on March 7 with the breakfast-included Plan for a family of four. The Onsen was more comfortable than we expected, and there was also an open-air bath, so we could truly relax. The breakfast venue was bright, and we felt the balance and portion size were good. The soft-serve ice cream machine was fun. We would like to stay here again when visiting Osaka.

    Perfect for solo travelers.

    The location is excellent, with great access from Kyobashi Station. I chose this Hotel because I wanted to rest my tired body and enjoy a large public bath. There is also an open-air bath, and soaking while taking in the view from the 16th floor was truly wonderful—the breeze felt pleasant, my head stayed cool while my body warmed up, and I ended up relaxing there for quite a while. Having a large public bath in a Hotel right by the station made me especially happy. Spending time unwinding in the lounge after the bath felt like an escape from everyday life, and I was able to relax at ease. I also had breakfast, which offered a wide variety of dishes and felt like a luxurious meal to start the day. There weren’t many Osaka-style items on the menu, though. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay.

    A wonderful Hotel that is clean, spacious, and comfortable—convenient even on rainy days.

    The Room was cleaned extremely thoroughly and felt very comfortable, and I was highly satisfied with the attentive service down to the smallest details. The front desk staff were also kind and welcoming, and their thoughtful care left a strong impression. The location is very convenient, and being able to enter the Hotel without needing an umbrella even on rainy days was truly helpful. The Room has wooden flooring, and there were some small scratches showing signs of use in places, but it actually felt cleaner and more hygienic than carpet, which gave me peace of mind. In addition, the Room itself is very spacious; even with two large suitcases opened at the same time, there was plenty of space, making it easy to organize luggage and very comfortable. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay, though there were just a few small points that didn’t quite exceed my expectations. Even so, it’s a wonderful Hotel that I would definitely like to use again next time.

    It was disappointing that I couldn’t use the spa.

    I was looking forward to using the spa and lounge, but they were unavailable due to a once-a-month inspection day. It seems this was noted on the official website, but there was no explanation on IKYU. I was very disappointed because I had been looking forward to it. Everything else was good.

    The natural Onsen was wonderful!

    I stayed for one night as a solo guest. The large public bath with natural Onsen was spacious and also had a sauna, which was excellent. There was also a complimentary drink service after the bath, and I felt refreshed. The Room was on a high floor with a great view, and the bed had a comfortable firmness so I slept well. Breakfast offered unique items such as takoyaki cutlets and fried eggs served with grilled meat, and I ended up eating too much. I would like to stay again if I have the chance.

    Direct access to the Hotel from Kyobashi Station via a connecting passageway

    You can get here from Kyobashi Station without needing an umbrella, with direct access to Keihan Mall and OBP, and there is also an underground parking garage. It’s convenient for both Kita and Minami. The view from the upper floors is great, and above all, the large public bath really lifts your mood. Breakfast offers a wide variety, but it’s a bit pricey, so it feels about right for the cost. It’s disappointing that the coffee service in front of the front desk isn’t available during checkout hours.

    You can relax here.

    A reward stay with friends. Last time we stayed on a Saturday and the spa was crowded, so this time we chose a weekday stay, and both the baths and the lounge were very relaxing. The location is convenient, making it a soothing way to unwind after work. The amenities included black tea, green tea, and coffee, which was a nice touch. I noticed the ceramic cups were different sizes and wondered if there was a reason for that. With six elevators, getting around was comfortable. We will use it again. Thank you very much.

    I think it was great!

    I had been wanting to stay at Hotel Monterey for some time, but I had avoided it because I don’t like unit baths. This time, since there is a large public bath, I decided to visit. However, there were times when no washing stations were available, and because the changing area and the bath area are a little far apart, you have to walk while wrapped in a bath towel. With only one bath towel provided, it was unpleasant to have to use that same towel after washing—after having wrapped my unclean body in it—and then use the same not-yet-dry towel again the next morning when I wanted to take a morning bath. That said, overall the facilities felt well made, and I liked the feel of the Room. Above all, the staff were wonderful. There was an issue with something I borrowed, but the person who assisted me handled it with truly first-class professionalism, and the front desk staff were also very reliable and courteous. For this price, being able to experience such an upscale atmosphere—along with convenience and comfort—made this a Hotel I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Hotel for Employees

    It’s surprising that this place has high ratings. The breakfast is not worth the price. There was nothing in the buffet that I found tasty. I was especially shocked to see a large-built man gather and serve steak pieces that were mostly fatty ends and sinewy scraps—things that would normally be discarded. The Onsen hours are still the same as mentioned in other people’s Review: at night, entry is only allowed until 10:00 p.m., and you’re told to leave by 10:30 p.m., so I ended up not being able to use it. I chose this Hotel because it has a large public bath, but there are quite a few days when it’s closed for maintenance. Whether you’re sightseeing or on business, closing so early is unreasonable. In the morning it’s only open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., which overlaps with breakfast, so you can’t use it then either. Who is this large public bath for? At the front desk, when there were no guests around, three female staff members were laughing loudly together in the lobby. When I went to the lobby for something, one female staff member was on a long personal call. Even when a male staff member peeked out from the back, he ignored me and went back inside; even after the woman on the phone briefly went into the back office and returned, I was still left unattended. This time, the only person who seemed considerate of guests was one male employee managing guest flow at the entrance to breakfast; he even suggested coffee on my way out. From all other staff members, I felt a cold attitude.

    The Room was smaller...

    The Room was smaller than expected, and the breakfast felt a bit underwhelming for the price. Even so, it was excellent value for money, and I’d say it was a comfortable stay.

    The large public bath and breakfast were excellent.

    The large public bath was very helpful during the cold season. It was enjoyable to choose from different shampoos, relax in the open-air bath, and enjoy complimentary ice cream and drinks. For breakfast, I was delighted with the variety of egg dishes. Both the porridge and spicy curry were delicious! There were so many types of cakes for dessert that I ended up eating too much! I wanted to try the unique soft-serve ice cream but couldn’t fit it in—what a pity.

    Relax in the SPA Lounge~

    Great location, convenient for bar-hopping in Kyobashi and sightseeing at Osaka Castle. Relax your tired body at the SPA and enjoy a leisurely time in the lounge. The night view from the Room was very beautiful this time; I will stay again!

    Highly Satisfied

    Stayed for one night on a business trip. Extremely satisfied with the accommodation. The room was clean, and the modern decor created a great atmosphere. The public bath and sauna were also clean, with staff maintaining tidiness regularly. Being able to enjoy complimentary soft drinks after bathing was a thoughtful touch. I would love to make this my regular accommodation when traveling to Osaka for business.

    When I asked at the ...

    When I asked at the front desk, "How can I get to Kyobashi North Exit?" they told me, "There is guidance if you go to the West Exit." However, there was no such guidance from the West Exit, and I ended up taking a long detour to reach the North Exit. On my way back, I bought an entrance ticket for JR Kyobashi Station and crossed through the station to get back to the West Exit. Later, I found out that instead of going to the West Exit and turning right at Seven-Eleven, it would have been better just to go straight. While it was my fault for not researching properly beforehand, it might have been better if the front desk had simply said they didn’t know. On another note, on our second day, my wife noticed her bath towel was taken while she was in the bathroom. Thinking she might be mistaken, she went back to check our room but found no bath towel there either and became certain it had been taken. She explained this situation to a staff member at the entrance of the public bath and received a new bath towel without issue. While this wasn’t necessarily Hotel’s responsibility, guests should be cautious about their belongings. The toothbrush provided as an amenity has a small brush head; male guests may want to bring their own toothbrushes. The Room itself was quiet with no hallway noise; we were able to sleep peacefully. The large public bath is less crowded depending on timing—after 7:45 AM in the morning or around 3 PM during check-in time are recommended for those with flexible schedules. The smoking area on the second floor is quite small; smokers may need some patience here. Overall though, as a Business Hotel experience goes—it’s pretty good!

    It was excellent.

    I have always enjoyed staying at the Monterey group hotels whenever I have the chance. Despite the reasonable prices, the interior design and decor are exceptional, featuring many antique furnishings and lighting that suit my taste, making it a visual delight. This is my second time at this Kyobashi location, and once again, it was excellent. The spa was particularly impressive—I used it multiple times in a day. The relaxation room and the variety of drinks and other services allowed me to unwind completely. Thank you very much!

    The Room, bath, lounge, meals, and service were all excellent. Last month, I stayed at a certain Hotel for over 100,000 yen for two people, but this Hotel was better. Truly wonderful! I would love to stay here again when visiting Osaka.
