    This was my first Mu...

    This was my first Multiple Night Stay here. We stayed in a sauna suite Room, and while the Room itself was impressive, the view—one of the highlights—was spoiled by seagull droppings on the window (perhaps unavoidable given the location). Also, because the closet is located by the sink and changing area, it was too humid to hang jackets and similar items. The staff were helpful, and dinner on the second day was delicious. However, I found it confusing that despite the stylish atmosphere and spacious dining area, there were only two parties with course Reservations on day one and only us on day two. Meanwhile, the buffet was crowded while the course dining area was nearly empty. It made me wonder whether you are aiming for a luxury or a casual experience. Guests who choose higher-priced Plans often stay at many Accommodations, so I hope you will avoid compromises as much as possible. I apologize for my blunt feedback.

    A well-appointed lobby lounge.

    The lobby lounge had a great atmosphere, and we really appreciated the complimentary drinks, including alcohol. The meals were buffet-style but surprisingly high quality, and we were very satisfied.

    Exceptional style in Utoro

    Although it is a renovated Hotel, it feels stylish and well-designed. They also seem to be putting effort into recruitment, and I feel the Hotel will continue to grow even more. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion regarding the issue with our Room—it almost made us feel apologetic. I felt very sorry. We moved Rooms at 8:00 p.m., and thanks to your thoughtful proposal, we were able to fully enjoy our stay at the Hotel. The open-air bath and sauna were excellent. The Room was also spacious and comfortable. At both the breakfast and dinner buffets, there was a refreshing originality in the ingredients and menu, but I think we would have enjoyed it even more if there had been more Hokkaido-specific options—such as salads featuring more seasonal vegetables. I was hoping for potatoes and corn. The salads at breakfast and dinner were exactly the same. A bit more fruit would have been nice as well. The croissants and salted rolls served in the morning were crispy on the outside, moist inside, and delicious. All of the staff greeted us with smiles, which felt wonderful. Everyone looked lively at work, making me feel this is a Hotel that is kind to its employees as well. I haven’t used an all-inclusive plan very often, but since I don’t drink alcohol, I was a little disappointed with the variety of soft drinks. It was my first time seeing items like coffee milk in the bath area, along with beer being provided! On our way out, we had gelato from Shiretoko Roastery. It felt carefully made, and this place also had great style and taste.

    Perfect for a relaxing resort getaway

    We stayed for three nights during the Obon holiday. The lobby was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. We appreciated having drinks and snacks available 24 hours a day. The footbath terrace was wonderful—we could relax while looking out at the sea, and it was very soothing.

    I stayed in a Room w...

    I stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The view of the Sea of Okhotsk while soaking was amazing! I wish we could have seen drift ice (we visited in May). I didn’t think it would be that cold, but the mornings and evenings were chilly, so we turned on the fireplace in the Room. It was very warm, looked great, and we were very satisfied. Since I have difficulty walking and use a cane, I informed the staff in advance. At the dining venue, they arranged a seat as close as possible and prepared a cart to place trays on. The buffet featured many live-cooking stations right in front of you, so everything was freshly made and delicious. Above all, having the cart meant I could go pick what I wanted myself, which made me very happy. Thank you. After dinner we visited the club lounge; it felt like a secret hideaway and was wonderful. They also seem particular about the music and speakers, so we had a really great time. Next time, I’d like to visit during drift-ice season.

    Enjoy an all-inclusive stay

    It was a two-night Multiple Night Stay, but unfortunately it was rainy and sightseeing wasn’t really possible, so we were able to relax in the Hotel lounge. The all-inclusive plan was great, and the food was delicious. Even with a Multiple Night Stay, there were plenty of daily changes, and although it was buffet-style, many dishes were prepared fresh on the spot, so we never got bored. In fact, it was almost disappointing that we couldn’t try everything. The only slight downside was that our Room was far from the baths.

    Both dinner and brea...

    Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. There was a wide variety of options, including an à la carte buffet, and we couldn’t try everything in just one day. We didn’t have much time to use the lounge, but it also seemed well equipped. The perk for the gelato shop inside the hotel was great as well.

    It was a great Hotel.

    We stayed for two nights. It was a very good Hotel. Since it’s all-inclusive, we didn’t expect much from the meals, but they exceeded our expectations in a great way. The food was simply delicious, and we never got tired of it even after two nights. There were also three types each of red and white wine, all with different styles. Having the lounge was another big plus, and we were able to relax at our own pace. The service was excellent as well—many of the younger staff worked very hard, cleared dishes promptly, and consistently greeted guests properly. It made for a truly pleasant experience. This is a Hotel I would recommend when visiting Eastern Hokkaido. Thank you very much. If I could ask for just one improvement: the tatami mats in the Japanese-Western style room felt quite soft and spongy, so I think it would be better to have them replaced.

    I stayed for two nights.

    We stayed for two nights as a base for sightseeing in Shiretoko. The Club Lounge offered excellent service, and being able to relax while enjoying champagne, Hokkaido wines, whisky, and more was a highlight of our stay. There was a wide variety of food, and we enjoyed many Hokkaido ingredients. Even over two nights, the offerings changed, and everything was delicious. One thing we noticed was the amount of wasabi in the sushi at dinner on the first night. It felt a bit too much for us, and we heard similar comments from other guests nearby. On the other hand, the sushi prepared by the chef on the second night had just the right amount of wasabi and was very enjoyable. Since it seems to vary by chef, having a more consistent amount would make it easier for more guests to enjoy. The Onsen and overall atmosphere were very comfortable, and the location was convenient as a base for exploring Shiretoko. We were very satisfied with the lounge as well, and would like to visit again in another season.

    It was a valuable experience.

    I stayed on a Plan with Club Lounge access and had the rare opportunity to listen to high-end audio equipment that I would probably never encounter in my life. (I can’t really judge sound quality myself,) but it was a truly valuable experience. I asked the lounge staff about the speaker brand, and even though they were busy, they looked into it and explained everything kindly and thoroughly. Thank you very much. As for dinner and breakfast, I personally found the vegetables especially delicious. It was a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again.

    Family Trip

    This was my third stay. Shiretoko is one of my favorite places, and whenever I visit, I always choose to stay at Kitakobushi Resort Hotel. This time, we made a Reservation for three Rooms for seven family members, and we truly appreciated your hospitality. At the newly added private lounge, our whole family was able to relax together and enjoy a wonderful time. Also, thanks to having seats arranged in advance for dinner, all seven of us could dine together, which we were very pleased with. Thank you sincerely to all the staff for your consistently courteous service throughout our stay. We would love to stay at Kitakobushi Resort Hotel again next time. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

    Although it shows its age,

    The Room carpet shows some wear, and the in-room bath uses a mixer tap that’s rare these days. However, since this Hotel is highly rated for its large public bath and sauna, I imagine few guests use the in-room bath. Meals are served in a live-kitchen style with freshly prepared dishes; the presentation is beautiful and the taste was satisfying. The service is well trained, and I had no complaints. Access isn’t ideal, but that’s simply part of traveling in eastern Hokkaido. If you enjoy Hokkaido’s unique scenery on the way there, even the journey becomes a memorable part of your trip.

    July stay, prior reviews

    Based on the good reputation and Reviews, we went with high expectations. The Room was very nice, but the bath facilities were too focused on the sauna, and the open-air bath was underwhelming. The biggest disappointment was the meals—despite being in Hokkaido, there was no salmon roe and no melon. There is also hardly any souvenir shop, so I recommend a nearby roadside station. It wasn’t bad, but our expectations were too high.

    I was very satisfied!

    We stayed here with our grandchildren and had a wonderful time. After arriving, we relaxed with drinks in the lounge and on the terrace—especially enjoying them while taking in the view from the footbath. We had an early dinner; the menu was excellent, and everything was delicious. Even though we ate and drank a bit too much, we then headed with the kids to the top-floor large public bath. We enjoyed the sauna and open-air bath, and the evening-cool terrace was outstanding. The kids’ room and table tennis were also great fun. Breakfast was just as delicious as dinner. We would definitely like to come again.

    As expected.

    It was nothing special when I stayed last year, so I didn’t have high expectations this time either—and as expected, it was about the same level. The facilities are generally well equipped and convenient to use. The house staff greeted me cheerfully and left a good impression, but I feel there is still significant room for improvement in the service from other Accommodation staff.

    Second stay

    Last time, I added meals for two days, but I got tired of them, so this time I added meals for just one day. I don’t think the menu is very different from winter. There was hair caught in the shower drain in the Room. I think the service is very good.

    Enjoy sightseeing and exercise

    Being able to enjoy sightseeing in Shiretoko and keep up with our regular exercise was a good point for us, as it helped reduce lack of exercise and weight gain during the trip. The meals also offered a good variety, and we were happy that even after staying for two nights, we never got bored.

    The Best Accommodation

    We stayed for two nights. The location is convenient for visiting Shiretoko’s attractions, with the World Heritage Centre and a roadside station nearby, and it’s even within walking distance of the sightseeing boat pier! The views over the Sea of Okhotsk from the large public bath and open-air bath were outstanding. We chose the buffet, and it was so good it felt like having a full course meal. The Room was comfortable, and all the staff were courteous and kind. Next time we’d like to come to see the drift ice, and we would definitely love to stay here again.

    View from the in-room open-air bath

    This Hotel lived up to the Reviews and was highly satisfying. From the Room, we could see the Sea of Okhotsk. After soaking in the in-room open-air bath and gazing out at the sea from the balcony, seagulls flew by right in front of us, calling as they went, and we were able to spend a peaceful time. We also enjoyed the meals and the lounge.

    Our second stay at Kitakobushi!

    On our first visit, my husband and I had a wonderful stay, so this time we brought our family. Compared with last time, the improvements were great—such as the platforms under the bath lockers and the wider selection of drinks. We really enjoyed them after bathing. We were also upgraded to a better Room, and the view outside was beautiful and relaxing. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration. Our family was happy as well. As for dining, everything we had from the live kitchen and shared platters was delicious, and we enjoyed plenty of drinks too. However, staff frequently came to clear empty plates, which made it hard to relax during the meal. I think it would have been more comfortable if they came after we asked. There was one disappointing issue. The slightly heavyset woman making sushi at the live kitchen had a harsh attitude that made me feel upset. I have low vision and cannot see well; when I mentioned “this one and this one” for sushi toppings, she said in an angry tone, “You can’t see from there—can you tell me which ones?” Since I also couldn’t read the written menu clearly, I asked, “Anything except silver-skinned fish,” but she replied in another intimidating tone, “We only have squid.” It left me feeling uncomfortable. I believe this should be improved because wording and tone can easily make guests feel unpleasant. Other than that, the meals, Onsen, Room(s), all-inclusive plan—everything about this Hotel is truly wonderful!

    Because I was really looking forward to it, it didn’t quite meet my expectations.

    On my first trip to Shiretoko, I was most looking forward to staying at this Hotel after seeing it on YouTube. The staff were polite and pleasant, which left a very good impression. However, once I actually stayed here, the overall experience felt disappointing—perhaps because my expectations were so high. The private lounge for rooms with open-air baths, “CLUB LOUNGE OKHOTSK LOVERS,” had a great atmosphere, and the original cocktails from 8:00 PM were delicious. That said, the food selection was limited and felt lacking even compared with the general lounge. I would appreciate a few more light snacks that pair well with drinks. As for the much-talked-about buffet, each dish showed creativity, but the plates were large and heavy. This meant having to go back and forth between the table and the buffet counter many times, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. There were positive aspects such as the staff’s service, but overall it did not reach the level I had expected, and I hope to see improvements.

    60th Birthday Celebration Trip

    I made a Reservation to celebrate my 60th birthday and to see the drift ice, but since it was mid-March, I thought we’d be lucky if we could see it. The drift ice view from the Room was amazing—I could have watched it forever. The Room, the food, and the staff were all wonderful. I definitely want to come again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Flawless.

    I stayed for two nights over a three-day holiday during the drift ice season. From my sea-view Room, I could see the drift ice spreading out beyond the harbor. The buffet with a fun daily-changing menu was delicious, and the Onsen—with an amazing view and a wonderfully moisturizing feel that clings to your skin—warmed me through to the core. There was also all-inclusive service, including complimentary ice cream for guests at the annex café. It was truly a fulfilling Hotel stay. There were so many food options that I couldn’t try everything, but everything I had was great—and personally, I loved the meringue cookies (coconut and almond) in the dessert corner so much that I wanted to take them home. The roadside station & World Heritage Center, Utoro Fishing Port, and the bus terminal are all just a short walk away, which was very convenient. Since I was traveling solo and using public transportation, it helped a lot. As for the drift ice itself, it seems my timing was just barely in time—so I’m glad I made it! Unfortunately it drifted offshore by the evening of day two, but on the morning of day three I was lucky enough to see a beautiful semicircular rainbow over the sea after the drift ice had disappeared. I’d love to visit again during drift ice season, and also hope to return in spring or early summer as well.

    There were issues with the phone support.

    As last year, we stayed again over the New Year holidays this year. With special New Year dishes and other touches, we had a wonderful experience during our stay and would like to come back again. However, I forgot my smartphone in the Room and called the Hotel about it, but on weekends and public holidays the call goes to an automated message and does not connect to the front desk. The message says that if they need to contact you they will send a URL, but since I had forgotten my smartphone, I could not receive it. In the end, I waited until Monday the 5th to call. Then I was told that if I ignored the voice guide and pressed 1, it would connect me to the front desk—but there is no way I could have known that. Could you please improve this system?

    A one-of-a-kind luxury Hotel offering an extraordinary experience.

    The accommodation exceeded expectations in every aspect: the room, lounge, onsen bath, dining, and hotel hospitality. It was truly a wonderful stay! The private sauna and open-air bath in the room were exceptional, and the quality of the course buffet was outstanding—everything was absolutely delicious! As someone who loves traveling and has stayed at various accommodations, I can confidently say this is one of the best experiences I've ever had. I will definitely visit again!
