    Great meals at an affordable price.

    We stayed as two guests in a semi-double Room with breakfast and dinner included. Despite the great value, the meals were outstanding—truly beyond expectations. We have stayed at many Hotels, but we were genuinely impressed. The Room is quite compact, but the furnishings were lovely and we really enjoyed it.

    It was a nice Hotel.

    The Room was spacious and clean, and we were very satisfied. The meals were also excellent. However, it was disappointing that there wasn’t a bar or similar place open at night. We had stayed at a guesthouse the night before and had plenty of fish dishes, so we chose this Hotel on purpose—and it was absolutely the right choice.

    We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday trip. We made a Reservation with the birthday Plan, and everything—the cake, dinner, Room decorations, and bouquet—was wonderful and made the trip truly special. We would love to stay again when we visit Ehime. Thank you very much.

    What was supposed to be a birthday celebration…

    A valet-style system where you leave your car in front of the Hotel and staff move it to another location. Since we arrived after hiking and had a lot of luggage, I asked if I could pick up some luggage later, but I was told that the car would be moved elsewhere so I had to unload all luggage right then and there. The way it was said felt arrogant and unpleasant. I had also informed the Hotel in advance that this stay was to celebrate a birthday, but there was no acknowledgment at all, which—together with the parking situation—left me very disappointed. In addition, it was difficult to adjust the bath temperature in the Room; it suddenly became very hot or very cold. My companion nearly got burned in the shower. I will never use this Accommodation again.

    The food was delicious, and we had a comfortable stay!

    I stayed here on a solo trip. It’s a very retro Western-style building with a historic, European atmosphere. The Room had the same feel, and I was able to relax comfortably. Overall, you can sense its age, but in a good way—it has real character. I used the Onsen, and there were plenty of towels stacked up for unlimited use. Not having to bring towels from the Room is a plus. Since this is Dogo Onsen, many people probably use the public baths, but I chose the Hotel’s Onsen instead. It was spacious and very relaxing. However, perhaps due to visibility from outside, the open-air bath has many partitions and didn’t really feel like an outdoor bath, which was a bit disappointing. I booked with breakfast and dinner included, and the French cuisine was excellent—delicious and satisfying. I ordered both red and white wine; they were sommelier-recommended by-the-glass selections, and I especially liked how well the white paired with the food. After dinner I requested ice for my Room, and the female staff member who brought it had such a wonderful smile. There is a bit of an uphill walk to reach the Hotel—I worked up a sweat in the heat—but Dogo Onsen Station is close and you can enjoy the shopping arcade as well, so I think the location is great. It had been a while since my last visit to Shikoku, but choosing Dogo was definitely the right decision. Next time I’ll stay with my wife as well. Thank you very much.

    It felt like a great-value accommodation.

    With meals of this quality, an all-you-can-drink plan, and attentive service included, it felt like a very good-value Accommodation. The bath area was simple, but the water temperature was just right, and I had the impression that even the small details were well taken care of. The service was excellent, but the Room air conditioning was a bit disappointing.

    I love this style.

    It’s located partway up a hill. It’s not far from the station, but there is a bit of an uphill walk. If I had any complaint, that would be the only one. Although the staff around the front desk are all Japanese, the place goes all-in on an England-style theme. As you pass through the entrance, towels are provided so guests who got caught in the rain can dry off. To help you enjoy Dogo’s public bathhouses, they also lend out carry baskets with two towels inside free of charge. The guest rooms do feel a bit dated, but that’s Old England for you (laughs). The room wear is yukata—because this is Dogo Onsen. In addition to slippers, there are also zori sandals—because this is Dogo Onsen. The large communal Onsen bath is wonderful! For breakfast, you can choose either a Western set or a Japanese set. It may be Old England, but it’s still Dogo Onsen. I don’t know how long this Hotel has been operating, but an England-style Hotel in Japan’s oldest Onsen town… I truly love how seriously and wholeheartedly they stick with such an “Isn’t that unusual?” concept. It feels genuinely stylish and modern in a classic way. There’s a remarkable harmony to it all. It was a lovely place that made me think, “I’m glad I stayed here.” I’ll be back again.

    Savor Dogo Onsen and indulge in exquisite French cuisine and fine wines.

    My first solo trip to Dogo Onsen. Since wine is essential to my evenings, I chose this Hotel. In Matsuyama I often eat Japanese food during the day, so a full French course for dinner felt like a rare treat. Everything from the appetizers to the main was fresh, tender, and delicious. The paired wines—sparkling, white, and red—were just the right amount, excellent quality, and great value for money. When I mentioned that I’m not good with sweets or coffee at night, they kindly served a cheese platter instead, which truly impressed me. The bath water was gentle on the skin, and I went in many times. As I was leaving early in the morning, they prepared a Japanese breakfast for me at 6:45. It was truly wonderful. I think this is a hidden gem of a Hotel.

    Highly satisfied

    It was very good. The meals were delicious, and the service was excellent. I also really appreciated that bath towels and towels were provided in the large public bath. I’d like to visit again.

    We were very satisfied.

    Every dish served was delicious. At Onsen destinations, meals at a Ryokan or Accommodation are often so plentiful that we can’t finish them even though they’re a treat, but here the dishes mainly used local ingredients, and each one was truly tasty. For us as a couple in our 50s, the portions were just right while still being very satisfying. It wasn’t the typical buffet style; it was also wonderful that the staff served us with such care. The building itself is old, but it was well cleaned. The large public bath was also clean, and perhaps thanks to the quality of the water, our skin felt smooth after bathing. Overall, we were extremely satisfied. We’d love to visit again.

    Very friendly staff

    All staff were very kind and provided attentive hospitality. The only issue was that the smoking area was only outdoors, and since it was raining, it was inconvenient. I understand the recent trend of being strict with smokers, but a little consideration would make it perfect. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

    A British-style Hotel in an Onsen town

    At the top of a hill lined with elegant Ryokan, you’ll find Old England Yamanote Hotel! From the moment we stepped into the entrance, it felt like entering a completely different world. Teddy bears are placed throughout the building and are adorable, and the antique interior gives a warm, wooden feel—an Accommodation full of charm. The French dinner was excellent; in particular, the Spanish mackerel and bamboo shoot terrine was so good I wanted seconds (which is rare for me with French cuisine!). The pairing with the green sauce was refreshing and wonderful. The Onsen on the first floor was also more spacious than expected, beautifully maintained, and we were able to relax comfortably. The breakfast and dinner alone felt well worth the accommodation cost—it felt like a great value and made us very happy. Dogo Onsen—thank you for a wonderful trip!

    The Room is spacious.

    I stayed at this Accommodation with the intention of eating dinner out, as I wanted to avoid the typical cuisine of an Onsen Ryokan. The Room was more spacious than I expected, and the British-style exterior and decor—unlike a typical Onsen—felt refreshingly unique. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was courteous. There were plenty of towels stacked in the bath area, so I was able to fully enjoy the Onsen. Thank you very much.

    The wine pairing was delicious.

    A Western-style Hotel located up the hill after passing through the Dogo Onsen shopping street. I stayed for one night as a solo guest with dinner and breakfast included, plus three paired wines at dinner, which was a great value. When I choose wine myself, my preferences tend to be biased, so trying this kind of pairing felt very refreshing. They matched the dishes perfectly and were delicious. Using the Onsen left my skin feeling smooth. It was convenient that towels were provided in the large public bath. Since it was a cold day, the water temperature felt a bit too hot for me; my skin started to sting and I couldn’t soak for long, which was disappointing. I think it may feel different once the weather gets warmer. Thank you very much!

    High satisfaction for this price.

    Since I’m staying in Ehime for three nights, I chose this Accommodation for one night because I wanted Western-style cuisine. I felt the Facility and meals were more thoughtful than the price would suggest. It’s an Accommodation I’d like to visit again. However, the crowds around the Dogo Onsen shopping street were more than I expected.

    A truly wonderful Hotel

    True to its name, Old England is a wonderful Hotel both inside and out. In the calm atmosphere, the antique ornaments and adorable teddy bear displays were charming, and above all, the gentle and kind demeanor of the staff at the front desk, in the restaurant, and throughout the Hotel made our stay truly comfortable. The French cuisine was beautifully presented and a delight to enjoy with our eyes as well. I’ve heard the Christmas decorations are also lovely, so I would love to visit again during that season.     I’m glad I stayed here.

    We stayed for one night as two couples with friends. It is close to Dogo Onsen, and the bath was clean and spacious, with a sauna as well. Dinner was a full-course French meal and we were very satisfied. The only request we have is that, since it is the England Hotel, there were tea bags but no coffee; we would appreciate it if you could consider providing coffee in the future.

    A British-Style Hotel Stay in Dogo Onsen

    I had been interested in this place for some time, and I decided to stay because there was a great value Plan for the anniversary of the opening. The exterior and interior are wonderful, but the souvenirs and local products for sale feel a bit cluttered, so how about reducing them to around two-thirds. The meals were very classic, and I could enjoy both dinner and breakfast with peace of mind. The Onsen was not crowded either, and I was able to relax very comfortably. Why is there no security box in the Room? I know this is overseas, but leaving valuables at the front desk is inconvenient, so I would really appreciate it if you could install one. Overall, it offers a nice escape from everyday life, so I would like to stay again!

    A delicious Accommodation.

    I’ve stayed here so many times I’ve lost count. Whenever I have business in Matsuyama, I always choose this Hotel. The top reason is the delicious dinner and breakfast. It’s almost unbelievable that you can enjoy a full French course at this price. The menu changes often, and everything is excellent. I usually request the Japanese-style breakfast, and I appreciate that it’s served to you rather than being a buffet. The second reason is the Onsen. Dogo Onsen leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth after bathing. I used to go to the main building and Tsubaki-no-Yu as well, but prices have gone up and it has become more crowded, so these days I’m perfectly satisfied with the Onsen here. It’s warm, bath towels are properly provided, and that kind of service is rare nowadays. That said, it’s a shame that recently it hasn’t been free-flowing (kakenagashi), and the rose-scented bath that used to smell so lovely is no longer available—there must be a reason. The third reason is the valet service. A gentleman in a smart uniform takes care of your car for you, which makes you feel a bit elegant. The interior décor with antique items also sets this Hotel apart from others, and the staff are consistently pleasant and professional. I expect I’ll continue staying here in the future as well.

    The bath was comfort...

    The bath was comfortable to use as there were few users and it was never crowded. Since the number of rooms is not large, it generally doesn't get too busy, but the facility itself is small-scale, so it might be crowded depending on the time. The facility can be described as classic at best or outdated at worst, and it's far from clean (dust was accumulated near the window frames in the room. Although I didn't use the room's bath, there were hairs left behind, suggesting insufficient cleaning). I had both dinner and breakfast. Dinner was average; however, the wine served was delicious. Breakfast was below expectations—comparable to a family restaurant breakfast—and definitely not worth 2,200 yen (both Japanese and Western options). The hotel staff's service is notably poor. The service provided by staff at chain business hotels is much better in comparison. I had an extremely unpleasant experience due to their poor hospitality—are they perhaps relying on part-time workers? Although this chain seems to operate luxury accommodations as well, I find it hard to believe they can manage such establishments with this level of service quality. (I wasn't demanding excessive service; they simply failed to meet basic standards.)

    A wonderful hotel that caters to its guests.

    I forgot my charger in the room, but it was kindly packaged and mailed to me. I just returned home today after a long trip, so I apologize for the delayed thank you. I truly appreciate it! The hotel has a retro vibe, is well-cleaned, and offers a stunning night view from the window. Although it was just one night, I had a very pleasant stay. During my hectic journey with same-day reservations every day, the wonderful hospitality of the staff was especially refreshing and healing. I would love to stay at this hotel again when visiting Dogo.

    Delicious Wine

    Located conveniently behind the Dogo Onsen Main Building. Despite the passing cold front causing rain showers, thanks to the skilled doorman, we entered without getting wet and also appreciated the valet service for our car. Having had Japanese cuisine during our previous stay in Fukuyama, the French dinner that evening exceeded expectations with its delicious flavors. A fine selection of wines was available, and we were pleased with the minimal price difference compared to local market prices. It felt like a pre-celebration of a birthday as everyone enjoyed it together. Considering some may find katakana challenging, listing wines in their country of origin's language might be a good idea.

    Cute for Christmas

    Stayed on a weekday for 4 days. Since it’s Dogo Onsen, I initially thought it would be a Ryokan, but I was drawn to the charm of the classic Western-style building and made the Reservation. The Christmas decorations were up, and the lobby looked absolutely adorable—definitely the right choice! Of course, both the bath and breakfast (we chose Western and Japanese meals for two) were satisfying. Being on a hill, pulling a suitcase can be slightly tiring. Haha!

    Touched by thoughtful hospitality

    The weekend rates were reasonable, so I decided to stay. It was a renovated Hotel with a classic and calm atmosphere. Although I noticed a slight smell of tobacco in the non-smoking room and some peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, I was deeply moved by the staff's thoughtfulness. After mentioning our wedding anniversary in an email, we were seated by the window for dinner and celebrated with a dessert cake afterward. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality!
