    Excellent

The breakfast risotto is delicious. The Room has an ocean view. It feels a bit old, but it’s spacious and easy to use. Relaxing on the balcony and looking out at the view is very soothing. All the staff are wonderful.

    We stayed here to ce...

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We usually visit the main island each year, but this time we chose Miyako. I assumed that on a remote island, geographic limitations would inevitably mean lower-quality dining and service, but we didn’t feel any such inconvenience at all here, and it made for an elegant stay. A few positives and areas for improvement: Pros The landscaping around the pool is beautifully maintained and creates a great atmosphere. You never see any “back-of-house” areas from guest sightlines, which really helps set the mood. Breakfast offers plenty of Japanese and local dishes; Western options are a bit limited, but the brunch more than makes up for it. We appreciated the thoughtful birthday gesture—it was small, but it still felt special. Cons The corridors on the guest Room floors are not air-conditioned, so they feel hot and humid. Small ants often appeared around the sink area in our Room. Since we’re in a tropical climate it’s not something to be overly sensitive about, but ideally there wouldn’t be any. The check-in explanation was quite long and tiring, though I understand that guidance is necessary in such a large resort. Overall, it was a stay that made us want to return someday. Thank you very much for everything.

The Room and Facilities are excellent.

For better or worse, I feel the level of service generally matches what you pay. For dinner we went to the food-stall village, but the seats with a good view of the show were above the BBQ area and it was far too hot, so we quickly switched to the buffet. We changed to the buffet near Ingyā Marine, but considering the price, the quality was not good. Also, from around 8:00 PM—about 30 minutes before last order—the staff gave off a strong “please leave soon” vibe. They cleared plates without saying anything, which was unpleasant. The next morning we had breakfast at Bayside Suite Allamanda. Both the service and food were satisfying. Because there was such a big gap within the same resort, I felt they should at least standardize service and hospitality. I also think satisfaction would be higher if there were a more reasonably priced Facility where you can enjoy dinner indoors. In midsummer, the food-stall village is tough for children and older guests. Overall I was very satisfied and would like to stay again.

    It was a relaxing space.

The view from the 4th floor opened up to a bright blue sky and ocean—I couldn’t help but gasp. I swam in the Room’s pool, had a beer on the balcony deck chair (everything in the fridge is free), soaked in the bathtub while gazing at the sea again, and enjoyed champagne in the lounge—every day felt wonderfully relaxing. For dinner we went to Soba Miyako, Shigira Blue, and the newly opened Chinese restaurant Kohakuro; all were delicious. My husband and I are already talking about when we should come back next. We’ll likely be staying with you again, so thank you in advance.

    Your First Time in Miyakojima

Thank you for your hospitality. I truly appreciate that you prepared various items in our Room, such as a flower box and a photo frame, for my younger sister’s birthday. Since I need to take a large amount of medication daily, you also kindly provided extra water. If I may share three points for improvement: 1) There was only one bedside table and one power outlet on the right side of the bed, which made charging devices inconvenient. 2) The cleaning seemed insufficient. The toilet door rail, the outlet near the toilet seat, and the wall ledges were covered with mold and dust. It felt as though cleaning may have been limited to around the toilet seat area and sweeping the floor. Dust also accumulates on shelves and above doors. On the first day, there was a strand of someone else’s hair hanging from where the bath towels were placed. 3) As a suggestion: how about introducing online time-slot Reservations for breakfast? A well-known Hotel on Ishigaki Island uses this system—guests reserve a time slot and receive an email when it is almost time to head to the restaurant. Since many people tend to gather in the lobby, this could help. We really enjoyed the ocean and pool during our stay. Thank you very much.

    It was a wonderful trip.

The delicious and varied breakfast buffet, the sea turtles swimming leisurely around, and the clean pool—all were wonderful experiences. Above all, we were impressed by everyone at the Hotel with their warm smiles and outstanding hospitality. Due to a typhoon, we had no choice but to cancel one night of our stay, but your prompt and thoughtful support helped ease our disappointment. We would love to visit again next year.

    A Huge City

I stayed at Hotel Allamanda, located within the Shigira Resort. Because it sits on a hill, it’s quite a walk from the beach, but the views were outstanding. To get to the beach, you need to use the shared shuttle bus or tuk-tuk (free of charge). The parking lot is also fairly far away, so you’ll be transported by a shared vehicle. The Room had calm tones and was very spacious—I was able to relax. If I had to mention one drawback, there was no washer/dryer in the Hotel, so I had to walk to the neighboring Hotel. Since this was a trip involving swimming in the sea, that felt inconvenient at times. Breakfast was served at an in-house restaurant and featured a luxurious buffet—very much what you’d expect from Shigira. (Allamanda is a very clean Hotel, but Golden Onsen and the food stall village are not as clean, so if you’re particular about cleanliness, it’s worth keeping that in mind.) The grounds are huge and there were many tourists, so it felt lively during the day, but it was quiet at night. Behind the pool there’s a water lily pond with no one around—so beautiful that I almost regretted how little known it seems!

An overpriced Hotel that’s all atmosphere and not worth the price.

I felt it was a complete disappointment for the price. The parking lot is far away, so you have to take the Shuttle Service every time. If you come back late at night, you either need to stop by the front desk and ask them to call the Shuttle Service before heading to the parking lot, or walk back from the parking lot. It was especially difficult when my child was asleep or when we had a lot of luggage after going to the beach. Even going to Shigira Beach requires a lot of preparation—since you can’t return while still wet, you have to bring plenty of items such as changes of clothes and towels and travel by shuttle with all that baggage. Walking with children takes almost as much effort as going to a beach outside the Hotel. You also can’t get dinner anywhere unless you make a Reservation before your trip. There are very few restaurants nearby, so finding somewhere for dinner was very difficult. I thought I would be able to relax and enjoy a resort stay once I got to the Hotel, but in many ways it didn’t feel suitable for that kind of stay.

    I’m disappointed.

I stayed here with high expectations because it was advertised as a luxury Hotel. However, it turned into a very disappointing trip. For this price, the quality was extremely disappointing. First of all, the Room was dirty. Even though I had just checked in, there was a line of ants swarming around something. Housekeeping clearly hadn’t been done thoroughly. After that, ants continued to use the Room as their pathway. I understand that Miyakojima is rich in nature, but it is unacceptable to find something in the Room at check-in that attracts a swarm of ants. Then on the second day, I returned to the Room at 14:30 and it still hadn’t been cleaned. Housekeeping came later, but they finished very quickly (just changing the sheets and towels?). There weren’t enough towels or pajamas for everyone. They didn’t vacuum. The loungewear wasn’t replaced either. Some amenities were also not replenished. Is this normal? The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options.

    It was disappointing.

We stayed at Ferris Villa on the first and second nights, and finally at an Allamanda Pool Suite. The Room was hot (there were two air conditioners, but it barely cooled), and there weren’t just a few ants—there were swarms crawling across the floor. When you dove into the pool, it was full of mysterious debris. We were told in advance that the water might be cloudy, but we didn’t feel like swimming. The staff’s responses were also inconsistent. When we asked how long it would take by cart to Horizon, we were told 20 minutes, so we left early to make our Reservation time—but it took only 7 minutes. Overall, it felt hot and unclean. It reminded us that if we stay again, a villa is the only choice. Paying 200,000 yen for this? That’s how it felt.

I fully enjoyed the resort in an elegant atmosphere.

There were so many wonderful hotels to choose from, but I’m glad we chose Allamanda. I used to think On the Beach was the best, but the view from the 3rd floor of the Allamanda Pool Villa Lagoon Suite was incredible. Because it’s on a slightly elevated hill a little away from the sea, you can see a deep blue ocean and sky stretching across your entire view, with lush greenery in between. The Room also had an elegant, Bali-inspired atmosphere that felt truly relaxing and made us feel like we were staying abroad. From the bath, we could see the ocean and horizon beyond our private pool. From check-in procedures to taking a cart to our Room, one staff member kindly took care of us with great attention to detail. The lounge also offered a wide selection of drinks and snacks, all delicious. For dinner, we took the Shigira shuttle bus to Ryuguen and enjoyed excellent Miyako beef, then stopped by the souvenir shop on our way back. The breakfast buffet was delicious as well. We would definitely love to visit again! There were also benefits from making our Reservation through IKYU, which was great. Thank you very much.

Miyakojima’s finest hospitality. Looking forward to its smart evolution in the future.

To celebrate my birthday a little early, we moved from our previous night at “Allamanda Splendid” and enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay at our beloved “Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda.” We have stayed at every Hotel within Shigira Resort, and Allamanda remains the place where you can experience Miyakojima’s tropical resort atmosphere most deeply and beautifully. It is our absolute favorite as a couple, and we return again and again. We have seen many Hotels on Miyakojima, but the quality and hospitality of the teams at Mirage, the newly opened Splendid, and especially Allamanda are unquestionably among the very best on the island. During our stay, in addition to IKYU Diamond member benefits (late check-out and welcome sweets), you even prepared flowers and a photo frame for my birthday. We are truly grateful for your warm, thoughtful hospitality. The teppanyaki dinner at “Malarunga” was also excellent—the Miyako beef was outstanding, making it a very satisfying evening. That said, because we are devoted repeat guests who genuinely love this Hotel, I would like to strongly suggest one improvement: the check-in registration process each time. Despite staying here so many times, having to handwrite our address and other details from scratch at every check-in is honestly somewhat inconvenient. Like other international luxury resorts (such as InterContinental), I strongly hope you will introduce a more refined operation—printing registration cards in advance based on past stay records—so repeat guests can simply sign upon arrival and be smoothly guided into this exceptional space. Because both the facilities and your staff’s service are already perfect, updating the first welcome experience (check-in) to global standards would make this resort truly unbeatable. We will continue to visit as a place for precious time together as a couple, and we look forward to seeing how you evolve. Thank you very much for an exceptional stay.

I really love the Superior Suite Room at Allamanda and have stayed here repeatedly. This time, I was disappointed with the bathroom facilities. The shower control handle was very stiff, and I think it would be quite difficult for a woman to operate. Also, the bathtub had been changed, and the previous one felt more luxurious. There were also cracks in the bathroom tiles, which made me worry about possible water leakage. I understand it is one of the older Hotels within Shigira Resort, but it is sad to see a downgrade in the plumbing fixtures—especially because the Room itself has such great taste.

    The room is far away...

I stayed for three nights. Overall it was good, but I had two complaints. 1) I booked with lounge access, but the evening lounge hours were far too short. 2) With a Multiple Night Stay, I usually expect to be assigned a Room relatively close to the front desk or entrance. I wouldn’t mind a little distance, but my Room was the farthest one back—much farther than the rooms near the front—and the difference was too great. It took over 10 minutes from the front desk lobby, and going in and out became frustrating. I hope the staff in charge of room assignments will be more considerate for guests staying multiple nights.

Stay with your family and dog

We had a very fun and comfortable stay! The only slight disappointments were that the floor wasn’t cleaned during Room cleaning, and that children weren’t allowed to use the lounge, but otherwise we were very satisfied, including with the service.

    Absolutely wonderful!

We stayed here for our honeymoon. Our request for an upper-floor Room couldn’t be accommodated, but they kindly gave us flowers and a photo frame for our honeymoon. The weather was bad so we couldn’t use the pool, but the view from the Room and the atmosphere were truly wonderful. All the staff greeted us with smiles, and we had a very pleasant stay. We stayed for two nights, and it made us not want to leave. We definitely want to come back again.

We had a luxurious and relaxing stay!

The Allamanda I’d been dreaming of visiting for so long! From check-in, everything felt luxurious, and the service was wonderful. The Room and the view were both amazing. Watching the turtles swim gracefully was so soothing, and feeding them every morning became a delightful highlight. Even though it rained, the kids had a blast in the private pool in our Room. Relaxing on a daybed with my children while looking out over the lagoon was pure bliss. We also enjoyed the snacks and champagne in the club lounge, along with a great selection of local beers. I really appreciated how warmly the staff welcomed us every time we visited. The kids joined us at lunchtime too and were thrilled by the luxurious atmosphere. They were especially happy to see again the female staff member who helped us at check-in. The turtle plush toy we received as a gift was so adorable that we even bought another one in a different color at the shop. The housekeeping staff were also very attentive, kindly replenishing extra amenities whenever we asked—it made our stay truly comfortable. Riding around the resort by tuk-tuk to explore different areas was another fun part of our trip. If I had to mention a few requests: there weren’t many laundry facilities, so it was hard to wash wet clothes for the kids (and I imagine it would be even tougher during peak season). It would also be nice if there were direct access from the pool to the bath area (since floors get quite wet). Lastly, adjusting water temperature in both bath and shower was difficult, which felt a bit unsafe for small children. All in all, with Diamond member benefits and an excellent sale rate, we were grateful to enjoy such luxury at a great value. We would absolutely love to stay at this Hotel again!

    Shigira Seven Miles ...

Shigira Seven Miles Resort is an enormous resort complex. This time, we stayed on the top (4th) floor of the Pool Villa Lagoon Suite at Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda. Although it has “Bayside” in the name, it’s far from the beach (about a 15-minute walk uphill). Still, you can see the ocean from the Room. You can enjoy the private pool and bath while looking out at the sea—truly luxurious. With large windows and a spacious layout, it’s perfect for relaxing in your Room. Lounge service is also included. The lounge is open from 10:00 to 16:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00. We arrived at 15:00. Left our luggage in the lobby and parked the car. Took a shuttle bus from the parking lot to the main building. Checked in, then were taken to our Room by cart. However, because last order was at 15:30, we couldn’t enter the lounge… It seems better to arrive earlier. We did make it for when it reopened at 17:00. There’s a wide selection of alcohol, including champagne. Snacks are also varied—cold appetizers, cheese, nuts, dried fruit, baked sweets, and more. But last order here is also at 19:30. We planned to have drinks and dessert after dinner, but didn’t make it in time. In other words, it’s hard to fully enjoy everything with just one night. Staying two nights or more would be better. For getting around within the resort area, there are shuttle buses—but they only come every 30 minutes. Tuk-tuks are convenient but only run from 9:00 to 17:00, so they’re not ideal for going out to dinner in the evening. They also recommend using your own car even for going to the beach, which felt different from what we expected—even though you do receive free parking vouchers for the beach lot. It might be better to spend time by either the Lagoon Building pool or one of main building pools instead. By the way, if you choose a first-floor Room you won’t get an ocean view—but your terrace faces a lagoon where sea turtles live, which sounds like fun.

    Lounge

My previous stay was in November last year, but the services had completely changed when I stayed again at the end of May. In the lounge, all alcoholic and soft drinks were self-service, and the snacks were the same every day with very little variety, which was disappointing. I used to love the Allamanda pool villa with lounge access, so this was a shame. The staff also felt much friendlier before.

    It was excellent.

I’d been wanting to visit Miyakojima, so I think I made a Reservation around January. Traveling solo didn’t leave many options, so I ended up choosing this place almost by default—but it was absolutely fantastic! The Room has its own pool and is incredibly spacious! With lounge access, it’s great to relax when you come back after going out. The variety of alcoholic drinks was almost overwhelming. I rated the service a bit lower because the staff member handling check-in at the front desk seemed somewhat tired. Since this is a luxury Hotel, I would have appreciated being welcomed with a more cheerful smile.

    A Classic Resort Hotel Experience

One of several Resort Hotels operated by the same group. At Allamanda, you need to take a shuttle to the parking lot, so it may not be suitable for guests who plan to leave the property multiple times during the day. The Onsen is also accessible only by shuttle bus. Ideally, this is a place to relax and spend time on-site as much as possible. The breakfast (buffet-style) offered a wide variety of options and was very satisfying.

Clear skies (even though it’s the rainy season)

It was our first time in Miyakojima, and I stayed here with my wife. No matter when we asked the staff questions, they answered with a smile, which made us feel very comfortable. We had the breakfast buffet, and everything was delicious. The staff guiding guests were also efficient and left a great impression. Above all, when we checked in, a young female staff member casually told us, “The rainy season is already over,” and it stayed sunny throughout our entire stay—we had nothing to do with the rainy season at all. (The weather forecast said rain, and when I looked it up it still seemed to be the rainy season.) I think that’s why we got such great weather—and I’d like to believe so, haha. Not only that, but being greeted cheerfully with a bright smile really does make you feel good. The service was wonderful. Thank you so much to the staff member who showed us to our Room. We’ll be back!

We stayed here on a family trip.

The Hotel was, of course, absolutely wonderful, and all the staff greeted us with great smiles and warm hospitality. The Facilities within the resort were fun and varied, so we could enjoy a full day without getting bored. We stayed for a special anniversary, and my family was very satisfied as well. Thank you—we will stay again.

    Wonderful Resort Hotel

My first time in Miyakojima, and I was so happy to find such a wonderful Hotel! The 24-hour Shuttle Service, delicious breakfast, great hospitality, and the spacious grounds—everything was perfect. Since there’s a beach and restaurants on the property, you don’t even need to go far. The amenities were well stocked, and housekeeping was provided every day. This is a Hotel I definitely want to stay at again! Thank you so much! I also highly recommend the sushi restaurant on the property called Sofu—it was delicious!

Staff expertise and clarity of information

I stayed here for one night to enjoy a resort getaway. It was my first time in Miyakojima, and when I made the Reservation I had no idea what kind of Hotel it was or how everything was laid out. Once I arrived, I realized it’s a large resort area with a vast property where multiple hotels and condos are spread out. Because I have lower back pain, I was really looking forward to swimming in the pool. However, when I asked the day before whether I could use the pool before check-in, it seemed that not everyone had the same information. On the day of arrival, when I said I wanted to swim in the largest pool, staff also didn’t seem to share which pool was actually the biggest. In the end, I was happy to be able to swim in the large Garden Pool, but since I expected clear guidance at check-in about what pools were available and where they were located, this was quite disappointing. After returning home, I searched for information about the pools on The Shigira Resort website and elsewhere, but details aren’t consolidated in one place—information is provided separately by each Hotel or condo. It also takes a lot of time to figure out which pools can or cannot be used depending on where you stay—and even now it’s still unclear. At check-in, it would be very helpful if the area map clearly showed all pool locations, which guests can use each one based on their Accommodation, and whether any related services are free or paid. That said, my Room was classic and spacious. By luck it was on the third floor with an ocean view—the scenery was excellent. The Hotel itself isn’t huge, so it felt private and calm, which I really liked. I'd like to stay at other hotels within the area as well, but after researching various options online, this Room style here suited my taste best. Although it was disappointing that information wasn’t consistently shared among staff members regarding facilities like pools (and related services), everyone’s smiles were wonderful—they naturally made me smile too. Between both people and nature being so soothing overall satisfaction is high!

If you’re worried about rainy weather, choosing Allamanda is the right decision.

This was my second stay at Allamanda this year. This time the rainy season started just before my trip, so it rained almost the entire stay—sometimes heavily. The marine activities we had planned were canceled, and we had to adjust everything else around the weather. I’ve visited Miyakojima many times, but this was the first time I’ve experienced nonstop rain like this. So instead of forcing ourselves to go out, we switched to a relaxing stay spent at the Hotel and within the resort—and if anyone is worried about “What if it rains…?”, I can confidently say Allamanda is a great choice. What I truly appreciated again in these conditions was how well-equipped Shigira Resort is. Even with bad weather, there was more than enough to enjoy without leaving the resort. We enjoyed the lounge even more than usual. And it’s wonderful that you can still see sea turtles even on rainy days! There are plenty of restaurant options, and it was great to take food back from the food stalls and enjoy a relaxed meal in our Room. Being able to buy drinks and snacks at the market was also very helpful. For a moment I thought, “It would be convenient if there were a small shop inside Allamanda,” but at the same time, I also want this Hotel to continue valuing its special, elegant atmosphere just as it is. Personally, I like the current style where roles are clearly divided between the Hotel and the market. And no matter how bad the weather was, the view from higher up on Allamanda’s 4th floor felt absolutely refreshing. The drifting rain clouds, distant bands of heavy rainfall, sparkling sunlight breaking through gaps in the clouds from time to time, the beautiful color of the sea even under gray skies, and waves crashing against rocky shores… We were able to keep watching these dramatic expressions of nature—something you can only see because of stormy weather—in such a luxurious way. Also, since we spent so much time in our Room this trip: if possible, having a Bluetooth speaker in Pool Villa Lagoon Suite would make it even more comfortable. Of course, since it isn’t a detached cottage-style villa there may be concerns such as sound leakage—but I feel it would further improve satisfaction on rainy days as well. A rental option could work too. I’d be happy if you might consider it someday. Thank you again for another wonderfully comfortable stay. We have already made our first Reservation for Allamanda Splendid later this year—we’re looking forward to it already.

I want to visit Shigira Resort again.

Before our trip to Miyakojima with friends, my spouse and I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days at Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda to fully enjoy the resort. The grounds are very spacious, with a wide variety of restaurants—everything was delicious, and we ended up indulging a bit too much. The view from the room was wonderful, and my favorite part was soaking in the bath while looking out at the ocean. Above all, everyone on staff—from the front desk onward—was friendly yet professional, making our stay truly comfortable. Because the property is so large, it was also convenient to get around stress-free by shuttle bus. It’s such a big resort that there’s still plenty we haven’t experienced yet, so we’d love to visit again. Next time, I’d like to try golfing as well.
