    Healing Accommodation

    When we arrived at the Accommodation and saw the exterior, my first impression was, “an old Ryokan.” To be honest, it dampened my excitement a little. However, a staff member was waiting in the parking lot and kindly explained everything even though we arrived early, and their warm manner quickly lifted our spirits. The welcome drink was chilled green tea with homemade yokan. The tea had a slightly unique flavor but was easy to drink and really soothing, and the yokan had a gentle sweetness and was delicious. Our Room was No. 101 on the first floor. When we opened the door, we were greeted by a wonderful scent of fresh igusa (rush grass). When I mentioned it to a staff member, they told us it had been renovated about a year ago. The garden viewed from the private open-air bath felt as if it existed just for this Room; we visited in summer this time, but it’s sure to be beautiful in every season. Soaking leisurely in the open-air bath while looking out at the garden left us feeling completely satisfied—and more than ready to return. Dinner was what we had been looking forward to most. This time, it seemed the head chef created dishes themed around summer vegetables and corn: corn tofu, steamed corn dumplings (shinjo), and corn rice. In between were dishes such as hamo (pike conger) dobin-mushi and assorted abalone sashimi preparations; every dish was gently seasoned and truly delicious. Not only was the food excellent—the attendant who served our meal also had perfect timing, plenty of conversation topics, and made our evening very enjoyable. I don’t drink alcohol, but they noticed I gave my aperitif to my wife; they quietly said, “For you,” and brought me juice instead. I really appreciated that thoughtful gesture. When we went for an evening walk, there was a full moon in the sky—so bright that we couldn’t see many stars. Breakfast included black soybean tofu, simmered vegetables, spicy meat miso, nicely fatty mackerel—and above all else, the rice called “Pikamaru” was outstanding (of course thanks to the chef’s skill). After breakfast in the lobby you can enjoy complimentary delicious coffee. Every staff member greeted us naturally without being overbearing, which allowed us to relax throughout our stay. When the seasons change again, I’d love to come back just to see that garden from our Room once more."""

    It was a comfortable Accommodation.

    The staff’s attentive hospitality made our stay very comfortable, and when we requested reduced-salt meals due to health concerns, they accommodated us with genuinely reduced-salt preparation for every dish, not just in name. In particular, I was delighted to be able to enjoy my favorite ayu fish with the skin on somewhere other than at home. The various services and the Onsen were excellent as well, allowing us to relax and unwind. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again if we have the opportunity.

    Cousins’ Gathering

    This was my third stay after visiting my aunt in Takahashi City. It was the first time for my two cousins, and they told me they really enjoyed it. Each time, the ikebana arrangements are wonderful. This time, you even prepared bamboo vases, and I was able to arrange flowers myself and take them home as a souvenir, which was great. We were also able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace.

    First, we would like to express our gratitude for the warm hospitality of the Accommodation. Thank you for your thoughtful care in even the smallest details. This was our first trip to Okayama Prefecture, and thanks to all the staff, we were able to enjoy a comfortable Onsen getaway. We now have one more Ryokan we would love to visit again.     Wonderful Accommodation

    The cuisine was outstanding in both presentation and taste, the spacious interior was impeccably cleaned, the large garden was beautifully maintained, and every member of staff showed such thoughtful care—everything was perfect in every way. The moment I arrived at this Accommodation, I completely switched off and turned into a total couch potato; even when you kindly offered information about the sea-of-clouds tour and the firefly-viewing tour, I ended up declining because it felt like too much effort. This time, I was a little disappointed that the temperature of the open-air bath in my Room was too hot to soak and relax, so it ended up being just a quick dip. Thank you very much for taking such good care of me. I’m looking forward to my next stay as well.

    An accommodation offering a level of luxury comparable to ultra-high-end hotels.

    This is an outstanding Accommodation. Everything is of a very high standard, but two points were especially impressive: (1) the staff’s service toward guests—consistently excellent from the Shuttle Service to the send-off, with no negatives; they must invest heavily in staff training. (2) the exceptional quality of the meals—the head chef’s discerning selection and cooking were truly admirable. Thank you very much.

    I stayed here to visit Okayama International Circuit. It felt a bit pricey for a solo stay, but that’s understandable. The meals, Onsen, and service were all excellent, and I was able to relax fully. Thank you very much. I look forward to staying again.

    A Comfortable Accommodation for a Pleasant Stay

    After watching a TV program, I had wanted to visit at least once. The 10-tatami Japanese-style Room felt fairly standard, but it was very clean and spacious enough for a solo stay. Having tatami throughout the entire building was extremely comfortable. The all-inclusive plan also enhanced my satisfaction with dinner. Overall, this is an Accommodation where you can feel the thoughtful hospitality and be glad you came.

    A wonderful Ryokan where you can experience the seasons

    Upon entering, the spacious tatami corridor felt wonderfully welcoming. The ikebana arrangements throughout also beautifully conveyed the feeling of spring. We requested Japanese-style dinner and breakfast, and both the ingredients and the tableware were excellent. The Onsen was free-flowing with soft, soothing water. The large public bath was very clean. Above all, the staff’s friendly smiles were delightful. Even though we received a birthday gift, we were extremely satisfied at such a reasonable price. Located in Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture—the hometown of Miyamoto Musashi—this is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again if we have the chance to visit.

    Used for a family celebration.

    Our family of seven stayed here to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday and my nephew’s high school entrance. Since it was difficult to finalize the dates, we couldn’t book our preferred Rooms, but they arranged three Rooms on the same floor for us. The meals were outstanding, and the staff’s explanations and serving timing were perfect. We had ordered a surprise cake, and even though we were full, we still enjoyed it—it was delicious. We also requested in-Room massages for my parents, and they were very satisfied with how skilled the therapist was. One handle on the clothes hanger rack in the Room looked like it might come loose (some parts are a bit old), but everything was very clean, and we enjoyed the Onsen as well. We also had fun with karaoke. If we have another chance to visit, we’d like to upgrade to a guest Room with an open-air bath next time. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    A Relaxing Space

    This was our second stay. We stayed previously during my wife’s birthday month, and this time to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. The Accommodation was decorated with many ikebana arrangements, which felt very calming. Were they works from the Ikenobo school? We were told the Accommodation was fully booked that day, but even so, all staff were consistently courteous and impeccable in their service. My mother was truly delighted, and it became a wonderful memory for us. We would love to visit again.

    An Accommodation that soothes both body and mind

    Flowers were beautifully arranged throughout, and the seasonal dishes helped soothe my everyday fatigue. I also enjoyed the gentle waters of Yugo Onsen and the hot stone steam bath; together with the cuisine, it was an Accommodation that made my body feel refreshed with a detox effect. P.S. I also enjoyed the Bizen ware plates and cups.

    I’d like to stay here again.

    We stayed here with three generations of our family. From check-in, we were welcomed with thoughtful hospitality, and the explanations of the facilities and our Room were easy to understand. This time, for my father who has difficulty walking, we stayed in the Hinoki Ougi Room with a private open-air bath, as it had chairs and a table. They kindly changed our meals to in-room dining, and since my father’s 77th birthday celebration was coming up, we requested a surprise cake. The food was delicious from start to finish and beautifully presented—we were very satisfied. Our 5-year-old son ate heartily as well. Although we were served by an overseas staff member, their explanations were perfect, and they communicated warmly while talking to our son too. The surprise cake was a success, and we were happy that my father enjoyed it. The private open-air bath in the Room was truly wonderful—I ended up using it three times with my son. He seemed to love it so much that he kept saying he wants to come again and take another bath! My parents and I are also glad we found an Accommodation where we would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    When I visited with ...

    When I visited with my family, the food was so delicious and the Onsen suited my skin perfectly—I was truly impressed and knew I wanted to come back. This time, I was able to return with my partner for a Christmas trip! I heard the menu changes with the seasons, so I’d love to visit again in a different season!

    Room bath

    We had a very pleasant stay. However, the window in the Room bath could not be closed, so the washing area was cold and we couldn’t get out of the tub. (It would probably be fine in a milder season.)

    I stayed for one night on February 22. It was closer to home than I expected, and with the lovely weather, I was able to relax comfortably. The beautifully arranged flowers throughout the property and the staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive hospitality made my stay very pleasant, and I would love to visit again.

    Strangely calming

    Fresh flowers were beautifully arranged throughout the Hotel—from stunning displays to charming little arrangements—so it was a joy just to look at them. There was also a space where guests could create their own, which I really enjoyed. In addition to the excellent service, all of the meals were delicious, both dinner and breakfast. I also slept very well on the pearl pillow. Somehow, it was a calm and relaxing place where I never felt bored, and I would love to stay again. The Hina dolls were wonderful as well...

    This is a wonderful Ryokan.

    This was our first stay. We made a Reservation for the Baby & Mom Plan as a couple in our early 30s with our 4-month-old son. In conclusion, we were extremely satisfied with the service. Everyone was very experienced in caring for babies, and we truly appreciated that we could manage with almost no luggage. They even provided a bottle-cleaning set—everything was thoughtfully prepared. During meals, they also set up baby bedding in our private dining room, which allowed us to relax and enjoy dinner together. We used all of the baths—the open-air bath in our Room, the private bath, and the large public bath—and each one was clean, spacious, and wonderful. The sauna in the large public bath was especially unique, like a combination of hot-stone therapy and a sauna; as sauna lovers, we were very pleased. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent in both volume and quality. Drinks were all-inclusive as well, so we could enjoy as much as we liked at no extra charge—fantastic. All of the staff were Japanese (which feels rare these days), and they answered every question immediately; I was genuinely impressed. The glasses and plates by an Okayama artisan sold in the lobby were also outstanding—such tasteful selections. I liked them so much that after checkout I actually went to visit the artisan (lol). If I had to mention just one point: dinner featured a course using plenty of crab prepared in many different ways, which was enjoyable—but since this is a mountainous area where crab isn’t what you typically associate with local cuisine, it would have been even better if we could also enjoy more local ingredients such as game meat or mushrooms. That said, perhaps many guests want crab this season, so I’m sure it’s an overall decision... Overall, this is a wonderful Ryokan. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your thoughtful attention to detail.

    We stayed here over New Year’s with a group of eight. The floral arrangements throughout the Accommodation, starting with the entrance display, were stunning and truly captivating. The bar counter featuring Bizen ware also created a wonderful atmosphere. The hot spring water was excellent, and we were very satisfied with the large public bath, including the open-air bath. The sauna, lined with warmed smooth stones, was especially comfortable—we could lie down and relax at length. The Shuttle Service was particularly attentive and incredibly helpful. Our daughters also seemed pleased with the charming yukata and the ReFa hair dryer. The meals were traditional Japanese cuisine and very soothing; the grilled crab was especially delicious. Thank you for all your thoughtful hospitality.

    I stay at this Accommodation for each event at the nearby circuit. I’m truly grateful to the staff for their warm and pleasant service. The seasonal delicious meals and great drinks, the wonderfully relaxing Onsen, and the beautifully tidy, well-cleaned Room and Facilities throughout the property—thanks to all of this, I feel completely refreshed in both body and mind and can join the next day’s event full of energy. I hope this Accommodation continues for many years to come.

    It was a wonderful trip.

    This was my first trip to Okayama, and I wanted to stay somewhere relaxing. When I found this place with beautiful flowers displayed everywhere, I fell in love at first sight. Upon arrival, it turned out to be even better than the photos, with the flowers looking even more stunning. The staff's excellent hospitality allowed me to spend a peaceful night without any worries. Unlike most places where you walk around in slippers, here you take off your shoes at the entrance and go to your room in socks. This made me realize how thoroughly clean everything was. The meals were delicious, with each dish carefully prepared. Although I didn’t mention it during the Reservation that it was my birthday, when it came up during dinner conversation, they surprised me with a special gift which deeply moved me—thank you so much! Time flew by too quickly; I wished I could have stayed longer. Even when we took some time preparing our car at the parking lot before leaving, they waited patiently at the exit and waved until we were out of sight—it made us so happy. Thanks to this experience, our trip became truly memorable. If I visit Okayama again, I'd love to stay here and would highly recommend it to others!

    This was my third stay. Every time, I am impressed by the attentive service, flexible responses, and the comfort of the fully tatami-covered accommodation, making me want to return again. As I walked through the facility, every staff member greeted me warmly. Perhaps because of walking on tatami mats, it felt a bit exaggerated but almost like being in a friend's home. My mother has difficulty walking, and this time when we arrived at the parking lot, they noticed her condition and kindly arranged for us to park near the entrance. Additionally, we arrived earlier than our scheduled breakfast time. While waiting for our meal to be prepared, they thoughtfully served us tea. It may seem like a small gesture, but such natural attentiveness is truly remarkable. Every visit leaves me with admiration for how staff members of all ages provide consistent hospitality. I hope that Kifu no Sato continues to pass down these values. This time we had an ikebana experience as a family. It was wonderful to share such an activity together. The bamboo flower vase used in the experience was so charming and taking it home made me very happy—thank you! The meals were delicious as always; especially noteworthy were the beautiful dishes that added visual enjoyment to each course. The chair in our room was incredibly comfortable—I even looked it up online! There are countless other positive aspects about this accommodation. Arriving early and relaxing is highly recommended here. I look forward to visiting again!

    A quiet Onsen destin...

    A quiet Onsen destination. The meals were very delicious. The sea of clouds tour was also a wonderful service. Since the meals are served in semi-private rooms, the loud voices of other guests were unpleasant for someone like me who prefers to eat quietly.

    Overall, a great accommodation

    This is my first review, and I found it quite challenging to decide on the star rating. Three stars would mean "average," but this place is certainly on par with others. On the other hand, giving five stars isn't something to be done lightly. Great food and excellent service are goals for any establishment, but it's easy to notice where compromises might have been made instead. In terms of value for money, it felt appropriate for the price. It’s not disappointing at all—though hard to put into words—I believe paying a fair price is necessary for enjoying a pleasant experience. The entrance, lobby, and lounge had a nice atmosphere with a sense of cleanliness. The Onsen was just as shown on their website. While it may not compare to places with unique features, the medicinal stone sauna was exceptional and unlike anything else I've experienced before. I was surprised by an early morning bus tour offering views of a sea of clouds (unkai). This wasn’t prominently advertised on their website, so some guests might miss out on this opportunity! By chance or luck perhaps—but witnessing that breathtaking unkai left me in awe! Promoting this more could be great; however, I understand the dilemma if guests don’t get to see it—it might feel misleading. Overall, I had an enjoyable time here. If you're visiting Yunogo Onsen, you can’t go wrong with this choice!

    Excellent Accommodation

    I stayed at this accommodation nearly 10 years ago and had always wanted to return if given the chance. Everything, from the facilities to the staff, has been upgraded since then, making it a place I would love to visit again. This time, I stayed in a room called "Katakuri," which was clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. Plenty of towels were provided, allowing me to fully enjoy the open-air bath and relax at my own pace. For dinner, I opted for quality over quantity—it was delicious and just the right amount. If needed, additional items like steak could be ordered for an extra charge. Most drinks were free except for a few options! There were also various other services that made me think: "Is it really okay for this price?" However, there were small children staying on the same floor who made things a bit lively (haha). Overall though, it was truly an exceptional accommodation!

    Overall, I was satisfied.

    From the warm welcome upon arrival to the smooth guidance to our Room, everything was seamless. The Facility's design, featuring artworks by artists and carefully selected tableware for all-inclusive drinks, created a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Regarding meals, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to receive the chopsticks used during dinner as a keepsake. The engraved text on the chopsticks had caught my attention during dinner, making this gesture even more special. The bath experience was excellent with its high-quality natural hot spring water. I enjoyed it both in the morning and evening. The rare medicinal stone steam bath provided warmth even in a short time, leaving me very satisfied. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay; however, there was one disappointing aspect. After returning to my Room post-dinner, I found that while the futon had been prepared, some of my belongings were moved onto clothing without care. This left me feeling uncomfortable at that moment. After reporting this incident to the front desk staff and receiving an apology that conveyed their sincerity well enough, I hope such issues will be avoided in future stays. In conclusion, it was an excellent experience overall and I would love to visit again!

    I want to visit again in a different season!

    I stayed in a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath, and it was truly relaxing to gaze at the night sky from the bath. For dinner, I chose a course focused on quality over quantity. While the freshness of the sashimi could have been slightly better, the dishes made with seasonal ingredients were beautifully presented with attention to detail in the tableware. The flavors were gentle and delicious, offering a delightful experience that seemed tailored for women. I would love to visit again during a different season if given the chance.

    A Wonderful Relaxing Time

    This is my third visit since I first came last year. Each season features unique and creative flower arrangements, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing soak in the Onsen and spend a soothing time indulging in exquisite cuisine. The staff's hospitality was excellent, making for a very pleasant stay.
