    The Facility is very...

    The Facility is very clean, and the large public bath—especially the open-air bath—is excellent. I visit Hakuba every year, and for the past few years I’ve been staying here each time. The staff are also very pleasant, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. I’ll be back when I visit Hakuba again next year—thank you in advance.

    I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

    I stayed here during this year's New Year holiday. Although it is a bit away from the Hakuba ski resorts, it is quiet and allows for a relaxing stay. You can reach the Hakuba ski resorts in about 30 minutes, and Kashimayari Ski Resort is very close, making it an ideal accommodation for families to enjoy skiing while taking their time. Additionally, the bath is spacious and perfect for unwinding.

    I think it is a very good Hotel.

    I have stayed here several times before, but this time I chose to stay in the newly opened annex. The Onsen's water quality at Kuzu Onsen is generally highly rated, and the highlight of the new annex is that all rooms have access to Onsen water. The baths themselves are standard Hotel-style, so if you're expecting "all rooms with open-air baths," you might be slightly disappointed. However, the excellent water quality surpasses everything else, and I personally enjoyed it very much. My family member opted for the large public bath instead. One minor inconvenience was that while the disposable slippers provided were decent, walking a long distance to the large public bath in them could be a bit challenging. One issue I encountered was that docomo's signal was almost nonexistent in my room. While Wi-Fi worked fine, I couldn't respond to notifications from SNS platforms. This isn't the Hotel's fault but rather an issue with docomo; however, I hope it gets resolved soon. Additionally, there was an early check-in benefit as part of my Diamond membership perks this time; however, it wasn't communicated at reception and I was simply told "you can't check-in yet," which resulted in waiting over an hour. Perhaps they were busy? If they couldn't accommodate early check-ins due to busyness or other reasons on that day, that's understandable—but it would have been nice if they had informed me earlier in the morning. Overall though, this stay was highly satisfying! I'll definitely return again!

    I want to visit again.

    The Hotel and the Room were both clean and stylish. The Room had a humidifier, making it comfortable without feeling dry. The bath had partitions in the washing area, allowing for a relaxed experience. It started snowing, creating a beautiful snowy bath view. The meals were delicious with excellent quality and quantity. The buffet board was well-designed and clean. Staff included both locals and international members, which was great to see as it supports local employment. Everyone was kind and attentive. I would love to stay here again!

    Autumn leaves and snowy mountains at their best.

    The collaboration of snow-capped mountains and autumn leaves visible from the room and restaurant was breathtaking. The newly renovated room in the new building was very clean and tidy. The large windows with a sense of openness offered a picturesque view, like a painting, which was wonderful. However, having the golf course right in front made it feel like I might make eye contact with players, which was... a bit awkward. Also, while the natural Onsen view bath was nice, it felt more like a home bathtub and lacked charm, which was disappointing. Still, the room had great lighting and felt fresh and comfortable. The restaurant converted from a chapel had high ceilings and stylish decor, with all staff being kind and attentive. Especially in the morning, I enjoyed chatting about various topics with one of the young female staff members who provided excellent service—it made for an enjoyable time. The meals were reasonably priced for their quality; they creatively used ingredients to make delicious dishes. Thank you very much! I would love to visit again!

    The property was new...

    The property was new and nice, but the bathtub was a bit small, and it would have been better if there was something to hold onto. The meals felt a bit insufficient.

    Unfortunately.

    I had high expectations since this Hotel was featured in a magazine, but I was very disappointed. First, you cannot dine in the Room wear (samue). While it is allowed to go to the bath in it, having to change again for meals afterward was quite inconvenient. The food was not particularly delicious, and the menu options were limited. The alcohol prices were surprisingly high—beer was 900 yen at its cheapest. I don't think I will be returning.

    The room had a great view and was very relaxing.

    The Room in the new building was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. Since the air conditioning was set to cooling mode and could not be switched to heating in the Room, we requested a heater. Additionally, there were noticeable signs of staff shortages in various areas.

    Great value for money

    The rooms and wet areas are spacious and comfortable. The lounge and bar are also spacious and enjoyable. The Italian cuisine at the newly opened restaurant is delicious, and the breakfast offers satisfying Japanese and Western options. There is a free indoor pool and fitness center. While some aspects are simplified, considering the price, it feels like excellent value.

    Satisfied with high-quality meals

    I stayed with the New Wing Opening Commemorative Course. The interior and design of the new wing were somewhat unexpected, but the soft and exquisite towels were delightful. The room had its own Onsen, and I also enjoyed the open-air bath in the large communal bath. The meal was a full-course dinner to celebrate the opening, and I could enjoy it leisurely in a calm setting. The food offered great value for money, and I was very satisfied. Since I don't drink much, I would appreciate it if there were more varieties of glass wine. For breakfast, I chose the Western-style option, which was excellent in both quality and quantity. However, the serving dishes were a bit difficult to eat from, so a little improvement would be appreciated. Although I was cautious about inbound tourists, I was fortunate not to encounter any and could quietly enjoy the early autumn in Shinshu.

    A good Hotel, but...

    Stayed in a room in the newly renovated building and dined at the new restaurant. Overall, staff service was excellent, but there seemed to be a shortage of personnel. Compared to the former ANA Hotel, which offered impeccable service, this might be due to IHG's cost-cutting policies. Specifically, there were no staff available at the entrance to unload luggage from cars, severe understaffing at the restaurant, and even ice packs left for storage had to be picked up from the front desk personally. Additionally, my room was one of the farthest from the elevator in the new building. The distance to reach amenities like baths was extremely long, and vending machines or ice makers were only located on a distant part of the first floor—making it very inconvenient. If staying in rooms within this new building, I recommend reserving a room closer to an elevator for better convenience.

    I had a relaxing time.

    Check-in and check-out were smooth without any crowd. The Room was spacious and nice, but the view from the window was mostly of the forest; a better view would have made it perfect. Meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was good, but dinner could have been of slightly better quality. Overall rating: 4.

    Slightly below expectations.

    When I made the reservation, I imagined a view of the mountains, but the room below the lobby floor only had a view of trees from the window, with just a faint glimpse of the golf course beyond—quite disappointing. What was even more disappointing was the food. Both content and quality were 2 stars. The room was clean and stylish, which might be the only part that lives up to ANA's name. Also, although I didn’t use it, the pool looked spacious and nice—great for those who want to swim.

    A bit disappointing

    This was our second stay this year during our Kurobe-Tateyama sightseeing trip. With the hotel renovation and new building construction completed, the hotel nestled in the forest exuded a calm and serene atmosphere. We stayed in a room with a balcony, just like last time. The room was impeccably clean, and we enjoyed the refreshing air from the balcony, making our stay very pleasant. The buffet-style meals were plentiful and delicious, just as they were during our previous visit. The bath facilities were clean and spacious, allowing for a relaxing experience. Although we planned to use the open-air bath in the morning, we overslept and missed it this time. One disappointing aspect was that a service cart with dishes left outside one of the rooms remained there from morning until evening without being cleared away, which slightly tarnished the image of such an excellent hotel. Despite this minor issue, my wife loves this hotel as well, and we look forward to staying here again!

    The closest Hotel to Kurobe Dam

    We stayed here during our family trip to visit the Kurobe Dam. It was a lovely Hotel with a pool and a large Onsen bath, making it an enjoyable stay for the whole family.

    Service quality may vary.

    One of my favorite Hotels, and I have stayed here multiple times. I am attracted to the quiet and relaxing environment. Located in a nature-rich area, it is a playful and charming Hotel. It is perfect for families with children, offering facilities like a kids' space, seasonal pool, and treasure hunts. However, this time there was an issue that made the stay disappointing. The service at the front desk was inconsistent; maintaining high-quality service would make it even better.

    Disappointing

    The building was recently renovated and very clean, with a lovely lobby. However, the check-in process took a long time upon arrival, and there were no in-hotel guides provided—only QR codes for information. While checking the floor map, I felt it might be difficult for elderly guests to understand. Additionally, it turned out that we had booked without meals included, so we initially planned to dine outside. However, as dining options were far from the accommodation, we ended up reserving the hotel buffet for dinner. Unfortunately, the variety of dishes was very limited and did not match the price of the buffet, which was disappointing. I believe this could have been improved further.

    Miracle

    This was the final accommodation of our 4-night, 5-day trip. We stayed here two years ago and had such a wonderful experience that we decided to make a reservation again this time. Learning from last time, we planned not to overeat at the buffet for both dinner and breakfast... but it was impossible because everything was so delicious! The weather was uncertain during this trip. On the last day, as a typhoon approached, we mentioned to the front desk staff that we were planning to visit Togakushi Shrine. They kindly noted that the paths might be slippery today as we set off. However, miraculously, it cleared up and we were able to complete our trip as planned. We would love to stay here again when visiting Nagano in the future. Thank you very much!

    One night is not enough.

    I stayed at the accommodation during my summer visit to Kurobe Dam. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, showing great kindness to guests. Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of dishes, which was more than sufficient (though having soft drinks included with dinner would have been even better). The pool provided free float rings and beach balls, and the library's soccer game was also free, which delighted the children. From September, a new building and restaurant are set to open, adding even more appeal. I stayed in a room with a balcony; however, as it was next to a golf course, most of the view outside was blocked by trees—this was my only disappointment. Overall though, it is an excellent hotel!

    It was great as a summer retreat.

    I usually stay in winter to enjoy the snowy open-air bath, but this time I visited during summer because it was too hot. The mornings were around 22 degrees and pleasantly cool, and the evenings were comfortable once the sun went down. The buffet meals are excellent for the price, and it's a great system that you can order additional dishes for an extra fee if desired. This Hotel is very accommodating for families with children, and I am always grateful for that.

    The meals are extremely unappetizing.

    Unbelievably poor quality meals, worse than a food court. Limited variety with no joy in choosing dishes. Truly disappointing. The Hotel offers spacious accommodations, a pool, and Onsen with excellent cleanliness, but the terrible food ruins the experience. It would be beneficial to learn from other hotels to improve. Breakfast service was lacking—one egg dish was forgotten without an apology, the shaved ice machine at the dessert corner wasn’t plugged in until staff were notified, and the pancake machine had no mix inside. What is going on? Despite having already settled our bill, we were told at checkout that it was unpaid; meanwhile, another guest was mistakenly informed their payment had been completed. Hotel staff lacked smiles or kindness—there’s no sense of hospitality here. We travel monthly but this has been our worst hotel experience ever.

    Very satisfied!

    The aroma at the counter was pleasant. The Hotel staff, regardless of their role, were polite and attentive. The meals were delicious, but having a bit more variety would be nice. It would be great to have massage chairs or a relaxing Room available after bathing. Also, it would be nice if face masks were sold. Having sightseeing information about Kurobe Dam in an easily visible location would also be helpful.

    I want to visit again.

    First visit. The open-air bath and pool are perfect for kids, while the environment is ideal for adults seeking a summer retreat. Meals and service are average. It would be nice to have more fish dishes like Shinshu salmon on the menu. Considering the reasonable price, it's hard to complain.

    It was excellent.

    The hotel staff were very kind and attentive. The room and other facilities were very clean, and the pool and onsen were excellent. The meals were delicious, and the breakfast buffet offered a variety of options, making it enjoyable every day without getting repetitive. Perfect for a family trip!

    I would like to stay here again.

    We stayed here for our family trip during summer vacation. Although we were a bit concerned due to the many critical reviews on Google, overall, we were satisfied. We used a family room for 5 people, and it was well-cleaned with all the basic amenities provided. During our multiple night stay, thorough cleaning was done on the middle day, and towels were sufficiently replenished. The service at the front desk, restaurant, and lounge was pleasant—attentive without being intrusive. There was no porter to greet us upon arrival, but as we didn’t expect one, it wasn’t an issue. For meals, we chose buffets for both breakfast and lunch and were satisfied with the variety and taste. The fruits and vegetables were especially delicious as expected. If anything could be improved, there could have been more side dishes that pair well with sake at dinner. We also enjoyed the Hotel pool; its proximity to Ogizawa Station made it an ideal location for visiting Kurobe Dam. We would love to stay here again!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay to visit the Kurobe Alpine Route. Since the bus stop is very close, I left leisurely after 8:30 in the morning and arrived at Murodo around 11:00. After sightseeing, I had a late lunch at Kurobe Dam and returned to the Hotel around 4:00 PM. Relaxing in the Onsen was perfect for relieving fatigue. The Room was clean, and the view from the window was great. However, since it was summer, I personally would have preferred lighter bedding.

    A beautifully clean Facility that exceeds expectations, delicious buffet, and friendly service.

    The destination chosen as a summer retreat exceeded all expectations, making it a truly delightful stay. The hotel is located in a lush and beautiful area surrounded by mountains, offering breathtaking views from the windows. Opening the window allowed us to enjoy the scent of pine trees, creating an ideal environment for relaxation. Even in late July, when Tokyo's nighttime low temperature was 27°C, the Shinano Omachi area had lows around 19°C, making evening walks cool and pleasant. The facility itself was impeccably maintained with convenient access to amenities such as large public baths, open-air baths, a pool, and a training room. I never expected such well-equipped facilities at this price point. Additionally, the buffet featured fresh and high-quality ingredients that were incredibly delicious yet light enough to enjoy without feeling heavy even after indulging in plenty of food. Lastly, all staff members were cheerful and provided excellent service for which I am deeply grateful. Since this was a multiple night stay, even the housekeeping staff impressed me with their kindness by adjusting cleaning times to accommodate our schedule—truly touching gestures! I would love to visit again!

    As the gateway to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

    This time, I chose the no-meal plan to use as a base for accessing the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route from the Nagano side. It is very conveniently located, just 20 minutes to Ogizawa. The guest room facilities and onsen were satisfactory. However, it was disappointing that wi-fi could not be used without free ANA membership registration. I was surprised as I had never experienced a case where wi-fi was unavailable during hotel accommodation before.

    The children were very satisfied.

    We stayed with our 0-year-old and 5-year-old children. Our 5-year-old thoroughly enjoyed the experience, starting with the kids' check-in, treasure hunt, and kids' room. At the restaurant, the hot meals at breakfast were delicious; however, when we requested a cheese-free mixed omelet, it still contained cheese, which was a bit disappointing. Although it wasn't an allergy issue for us and caused no problems, this could be serious for guests with allergies. We hope more attention can be given to such requests in the future. Additionally, it would be great if there were chairs or equipment suitable for babies in the public bath area.
