    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    Surrounded by lush greenery, it was a truly wonderful Hotel. The food selection was small but excellent—perfect for my taste! I regret staying only one night. With both a pool and a gym, I should have stayed for several nights.

    Hospitality

    When we arrived at the Hotel, it was pouring rain. In situations like that, it would be helpful if the Hotel could assign staff to greet guests. (It seemed there was no bellboy.) Other than that, everything was wonderful, so this was disappointing.

    We used the breakfast and dinner buffets. There was a wide variety of dishes, and we also enjoyed the delicious local specialties. The anniversary plate was wonderful as well, and it made for a great celebration. At the front desk, two of the three staff members were non-Japanese, so the Japanese staff member seemed very busy assisting them. I hesitated to ask questions because I didn’t want to interrupt. When suggesting restaurant Reservation times, we were told “17:00 and 7:00,” so I had to ask several times to confirm. I saw some guests in the lobby wearing samue loungewear and slippers, so it would be helpful if these rules could be explained in advance. I called again to confirm the check-out time, and that’s when I learned that late check-out was included as a perk. I would appreciate being informed about perks at check-in. Next time, I would like to stay in the new building. Thank you very much.

    The reservation details and the meal plan do not match, so please explain.

    The Room and sweets were decent, but the “Western course” dinner was disastrous. The Room in the new wing was clean, and the in-room free-flowing Onsen (direct from the source) was wonderful. Whether it’s thanks to a skilled pastry chef, the course desserts as well as the cakes, pudding, and macarons at the on-site café were all exceptionally high quality and truly impressive. However, the “Western course” dinner I had been looking forward to was terrible. It was only four dishes and not filling at all; to make matters worse, bread wasn’t served until after the fish course—arriving together with the main. Despite being called a Western course, the main dish was “shabu-shabu style,” and to finish there was an utterly unoriginal sea bream ochazuke that felt no different from something you’d eat at home. In what way is that Western? I also had three glasses of local wine by the glass, but all of them tasted cheap and disappointing. It wasn’t nearly enough, so I ended up ordering katsu curry via room service after dinner just to fill up. Because the Onsen, Room quality, and sweets are excellent, this poor dinner stands out even more negatively. If I stay again next time, I will definitely not include dinner.

    This property is in an excellent location for visiting Kurobe Dam and the Alpine Route. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a good variety, and we were very satisfied. Everything was delicious. Next time, I’d like to take my time exploring Azumino, and I would definitely like to stay here again.

    Thank you for a wonderful time!

    We stayed here as our Accommodation for visiting Kurobe Dam. It’s very close to Ogizawa Station, and the route is easy to find, which made it very convenient. Also, compared with a typical Hotel, the late check-out allowed us to relax and take our time. We were able to do everything we wanted—swimming pool, Onsen, meals, putter golf, and the bath in our Room. Some of the front desk staff are from overseas, but they welcomed us with wonderful smiles and gave clear explanations. The Japanese front desk staff were also exceptionally kind—they noticed when we seemed unsure and proactively offered help. All of the staff were kind and excellent. We stayed in the new wing; it was very clean, spacious, and had a great view—definitely a Room we’d like to stay in again. The Onsen is small, but when I used it there weren’t many people there, so it felt like just the right size. For dinner we chose the set course meal. I was hoping for steak, so it was a little disappointing that it wasn’t included; however, overall the food was delicious. If you’re going to Kurobe Dam, this is a Hotel I highly recommend. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    This is a very comfortable Hotel that I highly recommend.

    Although it was a short stay, it was wonderfully comfortable and enjoyable. The Hotel is stylish throughout, impeccably clean, and offers a spacious, relaxing atmosphere. I also appreciated how the staff were courteous and attentive, always with warm smiles. The bath area was very spacious, and I could unwind in the open-air bath while taking in the forest right in front of me. Breakfast featured plenty of local ingredients and regional specialties; everything was excellent and very satisfying. I especially enjoyed being able to try Toji soba. It was a fantastic Hotel that made me want to return. Highly recommended.

    My spouse and I had ...

    My spouse and I had a wonderful stay. The staff were all very friendly, and we felt comfortable throughout our visit. We also appreciated being able to use the bath from early in the day. (You can see greenery from the bath, so it feels like bathing in the middle of a forest.) This is a Hotel we would love to stay at again.

    A Hotel with Outstanding Hospitality

    I stayed for one night on a Room-assigned Plan with breakfast included. It was a one-night stay the day before the Obon holidays, and I used a coupon. That finally made it an affordable price. The Room was a standard twin Room. At check-in, I asked for dinner recommendations. The Hotel restaurant was fully booked, so I looked through brochures in town and asked the Hotel staff for suggestions, then went to Omachi’s shopping street. There was a free municipal parking lot behind the shopping street where I parked, and I was able to dine at the restaurant recommended by the Hotel staff. They introduced me to a great place. The bath area felt a bit far, but there was also an open-air bath, and I could relax and enjoy it. Breakfast is buffet-style. I waited a little, but there were juices placed at the entrance so it didn’t feel tedious. There were many local dishes to enjoy. For omelets, instead of lining up, you hand over a card and they bring it to your table. It ended up being a very satisfying breakfast. All of the Hotel staff were kind, and next time I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay.

    Main Building and Annex Floor Labels

    We stayed here while sightseeing along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Having EV charging available was very helpful. For some reason, the floor numbering was not consistent: the main building uses the American system, while the annex uses the European system. This can be confusing for seniors and children, so I think it should be standardized someday. With a pool and a kids’ playroom, our children were thrilled. There is also a golf course next door, making this a Resort Hotel that dads will enjoy too. Dinner felt a bit disappointing—perhaps because it was peak season—as the ochazuke served at dinner seemed rather sparse. The breakfast buffet was delicious.

    I stayed at this Hot...

    I stayed at this Hotel to visit Kurobe Dam. It was very quiet, and I had a relaxing stay. The pool and the Onsen were both clean and satisfying. Since I stayed on a weekday, it wasn’t crowded at all, so it was stress-free. For both dinner and breakfast, I used the buffet. It was compact but delicious, so I was satisfied. This has become a Hotel I would definitely like to use again.

    Excellent access! Just 30 minutes to Kurobe Dam!!

    This is a wonderful Hotel. IHG members can check out at 2:00 PM, so you can work up a sweat in the large public bath during a quieter time before heading home. Breakfast is delicious, and after you order an egg dish it is brought to your table, so you don’t have to wait for several minutes in front of the live kitchen—an appreciated touch. The “Bircher muesli” on the menu is especially recommended. Finally, the location is excellent: taking advantage of its convenient setting, you can drive about 10 minutes early in the morning to Ogizawa Station and reach Kurobe Dam from there—only about 30 minutes to this spectacular dam in the sky.

    We stayed in the new wing. The greenery viewed from the bath in our Room was refreshing, and we had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was not buffet-style; we were served a set meal. The drinks were fresh and delicious, but if you stay for two nights, the menu is the same, so it may start to feel repetitive. With the Japanese set meal, only the fish changed. When making a Reservation for a Multiple Night Stay, I’d like to consider the meals as well. The staff provided friendly and pleasant service. This is a Hotel I’d like to visit again in a different season.

    It was a wonderful Hotel!

    We stayed here for our trip to the Kurobe Alpine Route. The Facility was clean and had a calm, relaxing atmosphere. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, yet their service was polished and professional—truly wonderful. There are plenty of Facilities that families with children can enjoy, but we were also able to spend a quiet, restful time as a couple in our 50s. We highly recommend the new building Premium Room. It was spacious enough for two people and comes with an open-air Onsen bath in the Room (the water is quite hot, so you may need to adjust it with cold water). It also includes a large-screen TV, samue loungewear, a coffee maker, and an air purifier. For dinner, we had a course meal at La Soie. Everything was delicious. The staff member who served us was lovely as well, sharing stories about the dishes and wine—it made for a very enjoyable evening. We chose the breakfast buffet, which offered a wide variety of options. We also appreciated that egg dishes were brought to our table while still hot. Although we booked this stay mainly to visit Kurobe, it turned out to be an even more wonderful Hotel than we expected, making our trip truly satisfying. We would love to return again. Thank you!

    How to Enjoy Your Stay at the Resort Without Visiting Kurobe Dam

    This year, I stayed at the ANA Holiday Inn in Shinano-Omachi after hearing that a new wing had opened last September. Since I was also looking forward to the Onsen, I fully enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath, and warmed up at night in the Room’s view bath. For meals, I enjoyed Western cuisine at the new restaurant in the new wing. It seemed that guests staying in the main building had a buffet included, and Room service also appeared to be available. In particular, the service at the new restaurant was excellent and very satisfying. While many visitors go to Kurobe Dam via Ogizawa, I visited instead the Keita Asari Memorial Museum, about a 30-minute walk away. Having seen Shiki Theatre Company productions before, I was able to enjoy both nostalgia and fresh excitement.

    Family Trip

    This is my second stay—I enjoyed it so much last time that I came back. I stayed in the new wing and made a Reservation with breakfast only. For dinner, I booked Botanica separately. Last time I had a French course, but this time I enjoyed the buffet. There was a great variety of dishes, and the staff were very kind. Since the Room has a semi-open-air bath, I didn’t use the public bath last time. I planned to this time, but it was very far from the new wing, so I skipped it. It was quiet and relaxing throughout my stay.

    Wonderful

    This was my first time staying here. The building was lovely, just what you would expect from a Resort Hotel. The staff were outstanding, and I felt comfortable from check-in through meals and all the way to check-out. Especially at check-out, thank you for taking the time—despite being busy—to look up a live camera feed of our planned sightseeing destination and offer helpful advice. Due to the weather, we gave up on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and went to Kamikochi instead. Next time, I’d like to visit the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route depending on the weather. When that time comes, I would definitely like to stay here again. I was very satisfied with this stay.

    Although my plan inc...

    Although my plan included an early check-in benefit and I checked in before 3:00 PM, I was told that dinner was only available in the 5:00 PM or 7:00 PM time slots. When I asked why, they said a group Reservation starts at 6:00 PM, so the 6:00 PM slot was not possible. I felt it was unreasonable that the 6:00 PM hour was reserved only for group guests. The bathhouse was much farther away than expected—too far to walk in disposable slippers. The hot spring water itself was good.

    Great value for money

    The building was very clean and airy overall, and the Room was also very spacious. The open-air bath in the large public bath felt like bathing in the forest and was very relaxing. Unfortunately, there were no shower caps, so you will need to bring your own. The meals were served in a very open space with views of the Northern Alps, and everything was generally quite good—especially the curry at dinner, which was outstanding.

    A calm and relaxing place to stay

    This was my first stay here. I added a Room for accompanying relatives later, so I thought we might be far apart, but thanks to your consideration we were able to stay in adjacent Rooms. The bath was a bit of a walk, but the view was wonderful and it was very relaxing. The lobby and other areas of the Facility were quiet and had a calm atmosphere. The staff were extremely kind and made us feel very welcome. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything tasted great. If I had one wish, it would be even better with something like chef-grilled steak. The roast beef was excellent.

    The renovated Room was clean, but it was a very hot day and the heating was on, so it felt too warm. I understand that air conditioning may not be available during that season. The meal portions were small; I was about 60% full and my husband about 50%. It was French cuisine with Japanese touches, and the sea bream rice was especially delicious. All of the staff were very pleasant.

    Declining year by year...

    Every year I use this through the hometown tax donation program, but it seems to be under construction every year. Also, the buffet dining has been declining year after year and has noticeably deteriorated. Next time I visit, it will probably be No Meals Included. And of course, I’ll choose a different municipality for the hometown tax donation program. By the way, the buffet at a certain Resort Hotel in the same prefecture that I booked for my second night through IKYU was more than sufficient, with freshly grilled steak, roast beef served from a cart, sushi, and more. There, Reservers who made a Reservation through IKYU were served sparkling wine, shrimp cocktail, and a special amenities set.

    The Facility is very...

    The Facility is very clean, and the large public bath—especially the open-air bath—is excellent. I visit Hakuba every year, and for the past few years I’ve been staying here each time. The staff are also very pleasant, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. I’ll be back when I visit Hakuba again next year—thank you in advance.

    I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

    I stayed here during this year's New Year holiday. Although it is a bit away from the Hakuba ski resorts, it is quiet and allows for a relaxing stay. You can reach the Hakuba ski resorts in about 30 minutes, and Kashimayari Ski Resort is very close, making it an ideal accommodation for families to enjoy skiing while taking their time. Additionally, the bath is spacious and perfect for unwinding.

    I think it is a very good Hotel.

    I have stayed here several times before, but this time I chose to stay in the newly opened annex. The Onsen's water quality at Kuzu Onsen is generally highly rated, and the highlight of the new annex is that all rooms have access to Onsen water. The baths themselves are standard Hotel-style, so if you're expecting "all rooms with open-air baths," you might be slightly disappointed. However, the excellent water quality surpasses everything else, and I personally enjoyed it very much. My family member opted for the large public bath instead. One minor inconvenience was that while the disposable slippers provided were decent, walking a long distance to the large public bath in them could be a bit challenging. One issue I encountered was that docomo's signal was almost nonexistent in my room. While Wi-Fi worked fine, I couldn't respond to notifications from SNS platforms. This isn't the Hotel's fault but rather an issue with docomo; however, I hope it gets resolved soon. Additionally, there was an early check-in benefit as part of my Diamond membership perks this time; however, it wasn't communicated at reception and I was simply told "you can't check-in yet," which resulted in waiting over an hour. Perhaps they were busy? If they couldn't accommodate early check-ins due to busyness or other reasons on that day, that's understandable—but it would have been nice if they had informed me earlier in the morning. Overall though, this stay was highly satisfying! I'll definitely return again!

    I want to visit again.

    The Hotel and the Room were both clean and stylish. The Room had a humidifier, making it comfortable without feeling dry. The bath had partitions in the washing area, allowing for a relaxed experience. It started snowing, creating a beautiful snowy bath view. The meals were delicious with excellent quality and quantity. The buffet board was well-designed and clean. Staff included both locals and international members, which was great to see as it supports local employment. Everyone was kind and attentive. I would love to stay here again!

    Autumn leaves and snowy mountains at their best.

    The collaboration of snow-capped mountains and autumn leaves visible from the room and restaurant was breathtaking. The newly renovated room in the new building was very clean and tidy. The large windows with a sense of openness offered a picturesque view, like a painting, which was wonderful. However, having the golf course right in front made it feel like I might make eye contact with players, which was... a bit awkward. Also, while the natural Onsen view bath was nice, it felt more like a home bathtub and lacked charm, which was disappointing. Still, the room had great lighting and felt fresh and comfortable. The restaurant converted from a chapel had high ceilings and stylish decor, with all staff being kind and attentive. Especially in the morning, I enjoyed chatting about various topics with one of the young female staff members who provided excellent service—it made for an enjoyable time. The meals were reasonably priced for their quality; they creatively used ingredients to make delicious dishes. Thank you very much! I would love to visit again!

    The property was new and nice, but the bathtub was a bit small, and it would have been better if there was something to hold onto. The meals felt a bit insufficient.
