    Affordable

    It was a bit disappointing that the Room only had a side view of Shirarahama Beach, but the service was excellent and the price was affordable, so I was very satisfied.

    For my mother's birthday

    I stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my mother's special occasion. The room overlooking Shirarahama Beach had an amazing view and allowed us to relax comfortably. We chose the course meal featuring Kue fish, and every dish was elaborate, carefully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The staff's warm hospitality was impressive, with welcome drinks provided and all necessary amenities conveniently available. Choosing from the shampoo bar in the large public bath was fun, and it left my hair silky smooth. The facility was clean, and its location right by Shirarahama Beach was perfect. My mother loved it as well, so I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    We created the best memories.

    The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, making our stay incredibly comfortable. Both the dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious and satisfying. Above all, the ocean-view Room with its spacious bath was absolutely fantastic. The open-air bath on the second floor, with its view of the sea, was especially refreshing. The entire facility was clean and warm even in midwinter. During our visit, there were complimentary activities like table tennis and free-flowing wine available. On our way home, we unanimously decided to make this an annual destination. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

    Perfect

    Such a perfect Ryokan is rare to find. A Ryokan with history and an air of elegance. Above all, the staff are incredibly polite and kind beyond expectations. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were prepared with utmost care and no compromises—absolutely delicious. This is an Accommodation you must stay at least once in your lifetime!

    It was our first tri...

    It was our first trip with my daughter's fiancé and the two of us as a family of four. The view from the Hotel was fantastic. The breakfast menu was abundant and very delicious (1 night with breakfast included). The large public bath (switched between night and morning) was clean, and we were soothed by the Onsen. We would love to stay here again next time!

    This is my favorite accommodation.

    The weather was perfect, and the view from the ocean-view Room was stunning. This time, breakfast was selectable, so I chose the buffet, which included delicious options like plum porridge and rice balls. There was also a drink service, and I enjoyed sparkling wine while relaxing. I look forward to visiting again!

    Excellent location

    The stunning beauty of the ocean right in front of us was truly satisfying! The Facility was clean, and the meals were delicious. There was a game that combined table tennis and basketball, but it would have been nice to have more options. We were the first to enjoy the breakfast buffet, so it went smoothly, but later guests faced long lines. For dishes like shabu-shabu or roast beef during busy times, pre-serving them on plates could help reduce waiting time.

    Annual New Year's Trip

    We have been staying here for our New Year family trip for three consecutive years. We love the room with an ocean view and the open-air bath where you can listen to the sound of the waves. Above all, my father loves this hotel's cuisine, and once again, our entire family had a very satisfying stay. The breakfast buffet was crowded in the morning, so we hope it will be smoother next year. It would also be nice if miso soup could be included. The staff are kind, and we absolutely love this hotel!

    From Children to Adults & Relaxation

    This is my second stay at this accommodation. The first time was over 45 years ago when I was brought here by my uncle. Recently, I had a dream about this hotel and decided to visit as an adult. Although I only had faint memories from childhood, the interior, pool, and beach evoked a sense of nostalgia and relaxation. The entire facility—rooms, dining areas—was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Additionally, the hospitality was extremely courteous, which added to the soothing experience. For me, it’s a perfect score. Thank you very much!

    The location is excellent, but there were some disappointing aspects.

    Located facing Shirarahama Beach, the view from the Room is spectacular. However, there are some drawbacks: 1) There are small steps in several places within the Room (e.g., between the tatami area and near the window), making it easy to trip; 2) The futon mattress is thin and uncomfortable for sleeping; 3) The dining area is a large banquet hall, and the service by staff was somewhat disappointing.

    Delicious large spiny lobster!

    The dinner featuring spiny lobster is incredibly delicious, with a generous portion of high-quality lobster that is more than satisfying. Conveniently located right by the bus stop, it was easy to relax after a journey of over three hours by express bus. I stayed here specifically for the sashimi and would definitely come back again.

    The service is inadequate.

    Stayed in the Panda Room. While the children were delighted, everything else about the service was terrible. - First, during check-in, there was no explanation about futon setup. Had to call the front desk to ask when they would come. - The complimentary juice for children as part of the accommodation perks was not provided. What are these "perks"? - After checkout, while carrying a child and loading luggage onto a cart to transport it to the car, no assistance was offered despite several staff members being at the front desk chatting among themselves. The location may attract guests during summer, but I will never return again.

    Great view by the beach

    Stayed as a family of four. It seems to be in the mid-price range, but the accommodation felt very clean with no sense of age. The kaiseki cuisine was served one dish at a time and was delicious. Considering the price, it is highly recommended.

    I have stayed here multiple times. It was my first time visiting Shirahama out of season, but perhaps due to the holiday, it was unexpectedly lively and didn’t feel desolate at all. On the contrary, with the sun lower than in summer, the sandy beach sparkled beautifully. The hotel was as clean and comfortable as ever. The staff's hospitality was polite and courteous, making it, in my opinion, the best accommodation in Shirahama. One of the most important aspects of a luxury accommodation is cleanliness. The large public bath was impeccably maintained, with plenty of towels provided so there’s no need to bring them from your room each time. Since towels are part of hygiene essentials, this contributes to both cleanliness and a sense of luxury. I’ve written down various observations I noticed during my stay; overall, I think this is a comfortable and wonderful accommodation!

    My first visit to Nanki Shirahama became an unforgettable experience thanks to your accommodation. The staff at the reception, restaurant, and café were all attentive and made me feel their genuine desire for guests to have a comfortable stay. Every dish I tried was delicious and left a lasting impression on me. The plum porridge I had in the morning was so delightful that I could eat it every day. Soaking in the onsen while overlooking Shirahama was not too hot and felt like all my stress melted away with the view. I also thoroughly enjoyed the evening drink bar with wine and juice options—it added so much fun to my stay. I would love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

    The Ultimate Retreat

    The meals are delicious!!

    We stayed as a group of eight, including two toddlers, spanning three generations. To avoid the summer heat, we visit Shirahama every October. The beach is right behind the Hotel, and you can still enjoy swimming in the sea! The free rental of rugs, chairs, and cargo carts was a great help for our large family. Although there were many guests from China and some instances of poor manners, the staff frequently cleaned and organized the public bath, allowing us to use it comfortably. Above all, the meals were absolutely delicious! We didn’t have high expectations for the food at a Resort Hotel, but this time, we’d like to express our gratitude to the head chef. Until last year, we stayed at hotels offering buffet-style dinners, but from now on, we’ll choose this Hotel when visiting Shirahama. We enjoyed a relaxing meal in a private room just for our family. One small issue: The outlet in the Room was faulty, and we couldn’t charge our smartphones. It would be great if the Hotel could also accommodate solo travelers.

    I stayed yesterday. I made the reservation as an IKYU Diamond Member. A luxurious welcome fruit was prepared in the room, but there was no wine during dinner. I just realized I didn’t receive it. Did the staff forget about it? What should I do?

    Always satisfied.

    I have stayed here probably more than 10 times, and once again, I was very satisfied. The colorful kaiseki dinner was delicious with excellent ingredients. The view is wonderful, and the scenery of Shirarahama is like Japan's Waikiki Beach. The staff, including foreign workers and trainees, are friendly and welcoming. I look forward to visiting again soon!

    Delicious meals!

    The meals were not buffet-style, so we could enjoy them at a relaxed pace. The butter-grilled abalone was tender, and the food was very delicious. The welcome drink, plum juice, had a refreshing taste unique to Wakayama and was easy to drink, so I purchased it as a souvenir from the shop. We chose a room with beds, which allowed my husband, tired from driving, to take a nap right after arriving. Although the building is old, its proximity to Shirarahama Beach makes it very convenient. The staff were kind and attentive, making our stay pleasant. It’s a Hotel we would love to visit again!

    Every summer at Shiraraso Grand

    Shirara-so Grand Hotel has been my choice for over 20 visits. In the past, there was a game corner for children and in-room dining on the Kifune Floor, which was very satisfying. Things have changed quite a bit now. As a frequent user of the Kifune Floor, I have some suggestions: - A makeup mirror in the bathroom of the room. - Early check-in at 14:30 for Kifune Floor guests. - A small exclusive lounge with free drinks to relax before check-in. - In-room dining options for meals to enhance the experience on this special floor. I believe these improvements would add value and create necessary differentiation for the Kifune Floor experience.

    Repeat guaranteed

    We stayed with a group of 8, including our friends' family. The staff were all kind and greeted us with warm smiles. The bath was great, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Check-out was smooth as it could be done via a machine without waiting in line. There was a karaoke room that the kids enjoyed. If I may suggest, having a standard-sized ping-pong table instead of a mini one would make it even more enjoyable. The pool was fun, and being close to the beach allowed for refreshing morning walks along the shore. We even talked about wanting to come back every year with our friends' family!     It was a highly satisfying trip.

    We stayed on the Royal Floor for a three-generation family trip. The room was very spacious, and we were highly satisfied. One minor issue was some sand scattered in the room, but everything else was perfect. The meals were especially delicious, and the staff's hospitality was excellent, allowing us to relax comfortably. We hope to stay here again in the future.

    A Long-Awaited Beach Getaway

    Before check-in, we were warmly assisted with our arrival at the Hotel, changing into swimwear, and luggage storage. As this was not our first visit, the Room and bath were just as excellent as before. The meals were served in just the right portions. The Onsen had a relaxing and smooth texture that we loved. One suggestion to make visits even more convenient: it would be great if there was a Shuttle Service to the Hotel. The free bus from Shirahama Station only operates in the afternoon for arrivals, while departures from the Hotel are all scheduled in the morning. To arrive early and enjoy time at the beach, we had to take a taxi to get there and also needed assistance calling a taxi for an afternoon departure back home. Considering that JR Shirahama Station is quite far from your location, we hope you will consider this request!

    Enjoyed the summer to the fullest.

    We have been visiting for three consecutive years. The beach is nearby, the food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful. We had a fantastic summer! We definitely plan to come again next year.
