    Cradle Plan

    We chose to stay because the Cradle Plan seemed truly ideal for families with children. The email communication beforehand was courteous and helpful. Shared areas such as the entrance and the Onsen were new, clean, and had an upscale feel. As for the Room itself, however, sound insulation was very poor... The 3rd floor where we stayed has a banquet hall, and our assigned Room was very close to it. There was a lot of noise until late at night after our child fell asleep, and our child woke up many times. We could also hear constant water sounds from the wall on the banquet-hall side. On top of that, we could hear high-pitched screams from the neighboring Room (I understand many guests have children too, but the walls are thin). Our child had just started talking and is quiet by nature, so we felt unlucky with this Room location. In the morning as well, we were woken up by noises in the hallway from early hours. If you have a 0-year-old who cries day and night or an older, more active child, it might not bother you as much. Our child is calm and sensitive to noise, so I deeply regret not choosing a standard Room. Even among families with children, what people want differs. At minimum, I wish the Room description had mentioned that it is close to the banquet hall and that noise can be heard. Because our expectations were high, this was especially disappointing... Dinner was delicious. The bathroom fixtures in the guest room felt quite dated.

    I wanted to eat a croissant.

    My family and I stayed recently. The staff were very courteous and pleasant, and the person in charge of in-room dining was also kind to our children, which left a great impression. Breakfast the next morning was buffet-style, and we had a lovely time. Around 8:30, freshly baked croissants were brought to our table and they were delicious. After eating, I wanted to have one more at the end of the meal, so I asked a staff member. I was told they bake them every hour and that the next batch would be ready at 9:30 (it was 9:20 at the time). Since we were already there, we decided to wait while our children played in the kids’ area. However, even after 9:30 there was no sign of them. Around 9:35, I asked another staff member about the croissants; they said they would check, then came back and told us to please wait as they should be coming out shortly. We had been informed in advance that breakfast ended at 10:00 and that dishes would start being cleared away from 9:45, so we were concerned. Around 9:40, the first staff member came around with a basket of bread saying it would be cleared soon and asking if we would like any bread—but there were no croissants included—so we declined. We waited until 9:45, but still no croissants appeared. We felt there was no point asking again and left. Of course we wanted freshly baked croissants again, but what disappointed us most was that even after checking twice, there was no follow-up afterward. If they weren’t going to be available after all, we wish someone had told us—we felt our waiting time was wasted.

    Kamogawa-kan: A 7th-floor Room with an open-air bath

    We stayed here to take our child to Kamogawa Sea World. The staff, the Facility—everything was wonderful. The service was so good that we were surprised it cost this much. The meals were also delicious. Overseas, I think it would be worth 150,000 yen or more per night. Our child seemed to have a great time, and we were able to make truly wonderful memories. We would definitely like to stay here again when we visit Kamogawa.

    We stayed as a family of five. The service was excellent, the Room was clean, and we were very satisfied. There is also a kids’ room on the 4th floor, and they offered various rentals such as children’s body soap. In addition, the Kamogawa Sea World parking lot was already full early due to summer vacation, but we were able to leave our car at the Hotel and walk there, which saved us the parking fee and was a big help. One point for improvement: I was slightly concerned about the words and behavior of the staff member in charge of serving dinner. It was a course meal, and toward the end our child got bored. The staff member said they would speed up the pace out of consideration, but nothing changed; instead, they only explained why it would take time. Also, before dessert was served our child fell asleep, so everyone returned to the Room leaving me behind to settle the bill. When dessert was served, we were told that after payment they would bring it to our Room right away for those who had returned—but it never arrived even after an hour. We went to bed and it was delivered then, without any apology for being late... The next morning I saw that staff member at breakfast and nodded politely, but there wasn’t even a greeting from them, which was also disappointing. I’m sure they were very busy; however, if something couldn’t be promised or if circumstances changed, I would have appreciated being informed. Even so, it is a very good Hotel and I would like to stay again if I have another opportunity. Thank you very much.

    About Meal Options

    We used our summer vacation to take a two-night, three-day trip as a couple, staying in a Room with an open-air bath. I had been recommended Kamogawa-kan by a friend before, but the timing never worked out, so it felt like I finally made my long-awaited visit this time. Overall, we were satisfied, but if I had to say something, I think there is some room for improvement in the explanations of the dishes and the variety at breakfast. The bath was flawless, and we were able to soak and relax at length. We would definitely like to stay again.

    It was a relaxing, soothing space where I could truly unwind.

    The view through the large windows on the way from the entrance to the front desk, surrounded by towering trees, was instantly soothing. The Room was wonderful, and we stayed together with my two daughters’ families. As soon as my young grandchildren entered the Room, they changed into swimsuits and headed to the pool. Since I wasn’t feeling well, I lay down on the sofa by myself and relaxed quietly while looking out over the pine grove. The Room had been renovated and felt very clean and fresh. Since our group included three small children (ages 6, 3, and 0) and four adults, they prepared a spacious private dining room for us, so we could take our time without worrying about other guests. We were completely satisfied with this Hotel in every way. My husband couldn’t join us this time, but we would love to stay again together. Even though I wasn’t feeling well and wanted to avoid long walks, I was able to walk to Kamogawa Sea World—and seeing a show there for the first time amazed me and left a lasting impression.

    Location only.

    I have stayed at many places, from Hotels to Ryokans, across various regions. My child wanted to go to Sea World, so we stayed here even though we came from another prefecture, but the only good point was the location. I didn’t really feel the Ryokan-style hospitality; it was simply service that took a long time at check-in. Perhaps because it was during summer vacation and due to the type of guests, there was trouble in the coin laundry area and I felt scared (already reported to the Hotel). The breakfast I had been looking forward to was also average, and I regretted paying over 100,000 yen.

    Our First Stay at Kamogawa-kan!

    This was our first stay as a family of three! I’d heard from friends and family that it was really great, so I’d been curious for a long time. We stayed on the Hiyoko Plan, and it was very helpful that dinner included a kids’ meal even for our 2-year-9-month-old, and that bedding was provided as well! At the water station on each floor, there was coffee and, depending on the time of day, juice too—so much fun! Having a bath in the Room was wonderful—and that bath itself was amazing! The large public bath was also nice, but with a child, having a spacious Room with a semi-open-air bath is such a help. The kids’ play area was on the small side with only a few toys, and some of the blocks were slightly broken, which was disappointing... However, we brought our child’s favorite mini cars and other toys, so we still had fun in the Room! The dinner (in-room dining) was great, but the breakfast buffet was outstanding! In particular, the marinated seafood rice bowl and the galettes cooked right in front of us were incredibly delicious! (It was crowded though.) Kamogawa Sea World is also truly close by, and it was appealing that we could leave our car here, walk there, and come back. Thank you for such a wonderful trip!

    Can’t wait to come back!

    Just as the title says. This was a family trip mainly for Kamogawa Sea World, and we were truly satisfied with everything—the service, the Onsen Facility, and the location. If I had to mention just one thing, the pool on the rooftop with an outstanding view would have been even better if it were a bit larger.

    We stay here with our family every year around this time. This year as well, we looked forward to the pear juice at check-in and dinner at Ryotei Yoshidaya. It was great that the in-room bath was an Onsen. The souvenir shop had also been renovated, and it was fun to look around. We will be back again next year.

    This is a wonderful Hotel with exceptional service.

    If you’re visiting Kamogawa, this place is an absolute must. I was amazed by the attentive service and thoughtful care down to the smallest details—it’s outstanding. The meals, bath, and Room were all flawless. I loved it and would definitely like to stay again.

    Well-serviced Accommodation

    Our family of three stayed for one night. We received especially warm support at arrival, check-in, and departure, and at other times we were able to relax freely without any trouble. The self-serve lounge where we could enjoy coffee and hot water anytime was wonderful. The Onsen was never crowded, so we could soak in peace whenever we went. We also felt the property is very considerate toward families with babies. Dinner was served in a private room and breakfast was a buffet; both were delicious. We would like to return again with our daughter’s family. Thank you very much.

    The ocean view was amazing!

    The Room has been renovated in a simple yet stylish way to make the most of the ocean view, and it was very comfortable. Everything felt thoughtfully selected—nothing unnecessary, but everything you need is there (the in-room shower is small, but towels are provided at the Onsen so you can go as often as you like without bringing anything; there isn’t a single-use skincare set, but you can use as much as you need from the amenity bottles, etc.). If I had one request, I’d love to see yukata with cute patterns or separate two-piece styles (the same goes for pool swimsuits—unisex options aren’t ideal). Since our Room had an ocean view, choosing in-room breakfast was absolutely the right decision. Lunch at the restaurant and dinner in a private room were also delicious. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful, and we were able to enjoy a truly Ryokan-like experience. This is an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again. Thank you very much!

    We had a very comfor...

    We had a very comfortable stay. The view from the Room and the private open-air bath were wonderful. If I had to mention anything, the guidance from a young female staff member felt a bit awkward, and at dinner the local fish—which should have been the main highlight—and the paper-stamp-sized, thin, small abalone sashimi felt somewhat lacking in luxury. Still, it was a lovely Accommodation, and we would like to visit again during spiny lobster season.

    Thank you for taking care of us for a one-night, two-day stay. We also used the terrace living area and were able to relax and unwind. The meals were delicious, and they kindly accommodated our requests by changing ingredients we don’t eat. The open-air bath in the Room was also very pleasant. This is an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again!

    For a family trip

    Thank you for taking care of us on our family trip. The Facility, including the Room, was wonderful, and the Room was very comfortable. In particular, I highly recommend the lounge! The selection was just right, everything was delicious, and we were very satisfied. Stopping by the lounge after a bath to enjoy a cold beer was the best. I used it with an additional fee, and I’m really glad I added it. For dinner, we chose a Plan where a tiered meal box was brought to our Room. It looked gorgeous and lifted our spirits. It seems there are various dining Plans such as tempura, French cuisine, and sushi, so next time I’d like to consider those as well. There is also an open-air bath, a large public bath, and an outdoor spa called “Puro,” and soaking in the outdoor spa while enjoying a panoramic view of the ocean melted away my daily fatigue. However, it’s a bit small, so it’s best to check how crowded it is before heading there. The breakfast venue was very comfortable with spacious seating and table arrangements. I had imagined buffets being noisy and hectic, but we were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. We would love to stay here again!

    An Onsen trip with my parents for the first time in a while

    Captivated by the killer whale show at Kamogawa Sea World, we stayed at Kamogawakan for the second time!! To make my parents happy, we booked a corner Room on the 8th floor, and for us coming from a landlocked prefecture, the view of the Pacific Ocean was a real luxury—even under cloudy skies. Not only is the building wonderful, but the surrounding pine grove and garden trees are also beautiful and very calming. There were many families with children as well, and it felt like a great fit for guests of all ages. Although many of the staff are young, their attentive service was just right—not too intrusive and not too distant—making our stay very comfortable. The meals were delicious, and I was surprised that my mother, who usually has a small appetite, finished everything. Of course, the Onsen was excellent too. Thank you to everyone at Kamogawakan.

    The difference between dinner and breakfast is far too extreme.

    This was my first visit in about six years. The Room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and with the larger windows it felt bright and pleasant. For dinner, we had Kazusa wagyu and a Western-style course in the dining room. As always, everything was delicious, and I was glad we came back. We chose in-room breakfast, but it was nothing like dinner. The lacquer on the Shokado bento box was peeling in places and had no shine; the rice tub and pot—everything—looked old, worn out, and noticeably stained. If these were in my home, I would have thrown them all away. In my view, it is unacceptable to serve guests with tableware that is chipped or dirty. The sashimi, simmered dishes, and miso soup were all at room temperature, so I don’t believe they were brought out freshly made. Unseasoned salmon, plain boiled broccoli, ham with a dried surface—and although I expected good Nagasa rice, the rice was dry and cold. I cannot consider this a breakfast worthy of a 70,000-yen nightly rate. Frankly speaking, it was so bad that it made me angry. The lounge also fell short: there were few snacks available, and the coffee machine was the same free one placed on each floor. If you charge extra for lounge access, I would like to see something that clearly differentiates it from the complimentary coffee machines. (The convenience-store coffee machines taste far better.) Until dinner time I felt I would like to return again—but once breakfast arrived, any desire to revisit disappeared completely.

    We had a very pleasant stay.

    I stayed using the Anniversary Plan. Although I hadn’t made any special anniversary requests, the Ryokan kindly presented a fruit platter as a gift at dinner—thank you very much. The dinner was delicious, and I was able to fully enjoy the Onsen. All staff were kind and helpful, but since additional dinner orders had to be placed via an app, it felt a little lacking in atmosphere for me personally, so I rated it 4 points.

    The requirements for...

    The requirements for an Accommodation where my mother, who uses a wheelchair, could stay were in-room dining, an in-room Onsen bath, beds, and an ocean view. The Room entrance was a little narrow, but we were able to spend our time comfortably in a Room that met all of our needs. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t see the blue sea, but we enjoyed fresh local fish including a boat platter, as well as a birthday cake for my mother that they arranged for us at short notice. With separate bedroom and dining areas, a spacious toilet, and an ocean view even from the bath, we were glad to find an Accommodation my elderly mother—who has limited mobility and needs care—could truly enjoy. We highly recommend this considerate Accommodation for those traveling with elderly guests who require assistance.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    We had a pleasant stay in a beautiful Room with a close-up view of the ocean. They also kindly stored our luggage while we visited nearby Kamogawa Sea World, which was a great help. In addition, we were able to ride along on their pickup to the nearest station, Kamogawa Station, and my mother-in-law—who is turning 90—was very grateful for their thoughtful hospitality. The bath area was also very clean, and we were extremely satisfied.

    We stayed as a coupl...

    We stayed as a couple for one night and two days. Our luggage was taken at the building entrance, and we parked in a nearby parking lot. At check-in in the lobby, we enjoyed a welcome drink (loquat tea) and sweets while staff came to each sofa to explain the meals and baths. We reserved a private family bath there. We refreshed ourselves in the large public bath on the first floor, then from 5:30 p.m. enjoyed a Japanese course meal in a private dining room at the restaurant. We ordered beer and wine and relaxed while savoring our meal. After taking it easy for a bit, we went up to “Puro” on the 9th floor, put on swimsuits, and unwound while looking out at the horizon. After that, we relaxed again in the open-air bath of our reserved private family bath. In the morning from 6:00 a.m., we had “Puro” almost entirely to ourselves again. Breakfast was buffet-style, and both the Japanese dishes and bread were delicious. It was an Accommodation that truly helped us unwind.

    Satisfied!

    When you think of Chiba, you think of Kamogawa-kan, and I stayed here again for the first time in a very long while—once again, it was an excellent Hotel. From the Reservation process to just before departure, the staff were consistently attentive and courteous, making me want to come back. In fact, I’ve been staying about once a month lately. As a repeat guest, I especially appreciate the even more thoughtful service, and I’d like to make another Reservation as soon as I can find the time.

    The view from the Ro...

    The view from the Room was simply amazing. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. We chose the plan with lounge access, and it was quiet with few people and no children, so we could truly relax. Dinner was in a private room, and breakfast was served in our Room, so we could enjoy our meals without worrying about others. We went to unwind, so we really appreciated that. The Onsen was almost like having it to ourselves, and we were able to relax completely. We will definitely visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Slightly spicy.

    We chose this Accommodation because it had great Reviews and was close to SeaWorld. Before our stay, the reservation staff were very courteous, which raised our expectations and we were really looking forward to it. However, the young employee who came for the Shuttle Service did not greet us and only transported us to the Accommodation, which lowered our expectations. We were also shown to a private tatami room for dinner, but we were surprised when a young attendant began explaining the dishes while standing on the tatami. They should properly lower themselves before speaking… It felt like training may not be thorough, which was disappointing. The more experienced staff provided excellent service, so I hope you will focus more on training younger employees. On a positive note, our Room had a wonderful view and was very comfortable.

    Great location

    We visited Kamogawa-kan with a group of 10, booking 2 Rooms for 5 guests each. Overall, it was neither particularly good nor bad. While some areas were new and clean, the noticeable age in certain places (such as the in-Room bathroom) was a bit disappointing. You could also say it has a classic charm. The photos on IKYU were so beautiful that we may have set our expectations too high. The staff were kind, courteous, and wonderful.

    It was the best stay.

    I’d wanted to stay here for a long time, and this was my first visit. I ended up having a truly happy time. We stayed as three adults in the family in a corner Japanese-style Room with an open-air bath. The futon and pillows were very comfortable, and the sound of the waves and the ocean view from the Room washed away my everyday stress. Towels were provided everywhere—the in-Room bath, the large public bath on the 1st floor, and even the Onsen pool on the 9th floor—which was very convenient. The meals were excellent, especially dinner—we were completely satisfied. The additional à la carte dishes were also great. Thank you for your warm hospitality. I would definitely like to stay again.

    We used the Cradle Plan to celebrate our child’s first birthday. ・The staff were very kind and attentive. ・There was a great selection of items for children and babies, which was very helpful. ・The Onsen was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. ・The Room was clean, but the bathroom fixtures felt a bit dated. ・Dinner portions were small and not nearly enough. We were also hoping for higher-quality dishes overall, so that was disappointing. ・The breakfast buffet was tasty, but the selection was still limited. At a Ryokan, we look forward to both the Onsen and the meals, so we hope you will review both the portion sizes and overall quality of the food.

    Delicious and very satisfying

    This was my second stay. I have another Ryokan in Kamogawa that I like as well. I remembered that on my previous visit there was a course where you can enjoy small portions of delicious dishes, so this time I chose Kamogawakan. Since we were staying three nights in total around Boso, I didn’t want to overeat, and the “delicious small portions” option really appealed to me. The person traveling with me is a food professional, so I can’t take them to just any Ryokan. We had planned to eat spiny lobster for lunch in Isumi, but we weren’t hungry and our timing was off, so we couldn’t. I was happy that spiny lobster was included in the sashimi at dinner. Rather than “small,” the amount was just right. Everything was very carefully prepared. We enjoyed every dish—there wasn’t a single thing left over. The soup dish in particular was outstanding. We were extremely satisfied. That said, it was my fault for not checking properly, but choosing the room with two single beds so quickly was a mistake. Since last time we stayed in a standard Room, I didn’t think much about it. The Western-style Room with two single beds felt cramped after all. Next time I’ll choose a regular Japanese-style Room. Also, I lost my ring and by the final day I didn’t even know where it had happened, so I called all three Accommodations we stayed at. It turned out I had left it at Kamogawakan. They called me back right away; after I described its features and they confirmed it matched, I felt relieved and truly happy—because it’s a ring I’m quite attached to. Thank you very much.
