Well-equipped Accommodation with easy access to the stone steps
We stayed as a family of three and had a very comfortable stay. Dinner was the perfect amount, and we enjoyed the local specialties; it was Japanese cuisine that showed care and creativity. We added an extra meat dish for our high-school son with a big appetite, and he was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet offered options like seafood rice bowls, and the dessert selection was excellent. One disappointing point: we made a Reservation expecting a rare Room with a terrace, but the window frames were not cleaned, and we noticed the dirt each time we went in and out. However, the terrace itself—facing a lush Japanese-style garden—was very relaxing, and overall it was a comfortable Room. All staff were kind and professional. This is an Accommodation I would recommend.

So close!!
To start with, it was truly a wonderful Accommodation!! This is an Accommodation I can wholeheartedly recommend to couples, partners, and families alike. With that said, the only disappointing points were: (1) adjusting the bath temperature was extremely difficult; (2) regular amenities such as body soap, shampoo, and conditioner were not provided; (3) a peanut from a previous guest was left in an obvious spot in the Room; and (4) there should be a prominent notice advising guests to carefully confirm the location shown by their navigation system. The location is very hard to find—I ended up going back and forth on the narrow road behind it multiple times and wasted quite a bit of time. First-time visitors should be sure to check this in advance. Other than that, it was almost perfect. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

Outstanding hospitality!
A trip for three with my husband and son. From the moment we arrived at the parking lot, the staff guided us kindly, and even though it was before check-in, we were able to relax in the lounge. Udon-chan and Komugi-chan were so soothing, and there was a great selection of welcome drinks and hospitality sweets. You can access the Stone Steps Street directly from the Hotel, and it’s conveniently close to Ikaho Shrine. It was our first family trip in a while—we enjoyed table tennis, got really into Othello in the lounge, and had a wonderful time. We stayed in Senjukan, so the large public bath was a bit far, but we could stop by the library Room along the way. The Room was spacious too, and we’d love to stay again.

Solo Trip for Senior Women
I arrived at Ikaho Onsen in the early afternoon and planned to stroll around the Stone Steps Street before heading to the Hotel, but it suddenly started raining and carrying my luggage was tough, so I asked at the lobby and they kindly let me use a locker. Since I was traveling solo, I felt nervous about dining in such a large venue at dinner, but thanks to the warm conversation from the staff and the delicious meal, time flew by. In the morning dining area, it felt great to be greeted with cheerful “Good morning” from all the employees. With clear skies and a beautiful view, breakfast was amazing.

The meals were delicious, the Room was spacious, and the Onsen was plenty large—everything was just what I had hoped for. I’d love to visit again!

The Onsen was wonderful!
I was able to refresh myself by enjoying the Onsen many times. Towels, including bath towels, are provided at the large public bath, so it was a great plus to be able to bathe with fresh towels each time. Some parts of the Facility and amenities felt a bit dated—for example, the Room air conditioning only had “Off,” “Low,” and “High,” making it difficult to fine-tune the temperature. Overall, everything seemed clean and well maintained.

We enjoyed our stay.
My first time at Ikaho Onsen. It was wonderful!! The staff were welcoming from the parking area, and in the lobby we were greeted by the robots Udon-chan and Komugi-chan. Check-in was relaxed, and starting off with the amenity buffet—where we could try a variety of items—was a fun touch. After enjoying the private bath, we had a leisurely meal. I had noted that this stay also served as an appreciation gathering, and after dinner they kindly showed consideration for us—my friend was truly delighted. Thank you very much! The Onsen offered two different types of baths to enjoy, and having towels available in the bathing area made it very convenient. The Facility has a bit of a Showa-retro feel, but it was spacious and comfortable to relax in. We stayed with an IKYU limited Plan, which included services such as colorful yukata rentals, and my friend said it was genuinely great!! Everyone said they’d like to stay again, and we agreed it’s an Accommodation we’d love to recommend. The staff were attentive, and guests of all ages seemed to be enjoying themselves. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

It was a wonderful trip.
Stayed in the Forest Suite Premier with an open-air bath. We chose Fukuichi Hotel for a three-generation women’s trip with my 92-year-old mother. Although there was no designated accessible parking when I asked in advance, thank you for securing a space right next to the elevator. As the Reviews said, we were very satisfied with both the baths and the meals. With the Diamond benefits from IKYU, we were also able to use a very spacious private bath and relax. We were happy that the shop was open for long hours (7:00–22:00). We could also reach Ishidan-gai quickly from inside the Hotel. However, there were a few disappointing points… The accessible chair in the large public bath was helpful, but it was covered in mold. The small towels were stiff and felt a bit unclean (sorry). The Wi‑Fi seemed to differ by floor (Room, lobby, dining area, etc.), so I sometimes couldn’t send emails and it was inconvenient. Both Fukuichi’s website and IKYU’s website said items like toothbrush sets and towels would be in the Room (there was a bath towel), but they weren’t—so it’s better to pick them up on the lobby floor. The Room had been renovated and felt spacious, but the open-air bath and shower room (the Room bathroom) were too far apart. After showering I had to put on a bathrobe to go to the open-air bath; I think they should be closer together. Because it was a weekend, only the last time slot was available for the private bath—which is fine—but there were no bath towels. There were three air conditioners in our Room, but it was very hot. Even after calling reception and being told to set them higher—and doing so—it still stayed extremely hot. I’ve mentioned many things, but overall we were satisfied: the food was delicious and beautifully presented, the baths warmed us thoroughly, and all staff members treated us very kindly. Thank you very much.

I’ve also found another wonderful accommodation.
We’ve had more chances to travel as a couple lately. This time, we stayed one night in a wonderful Room with an open-air bath at Fukuichi in Ikaho Onsen. It was very spacious and spotless. We also appreciated that towels were provided at the large public bath. The meals were delicious, and we left happily full. It was also very convenient that the Hotel connects directly to the Stone Steps Street. The weather was a bit disappointing, but I’m proud of myself for choosing Fukuichi!

Meals
Both dinner and breakfast were disappointing. Dinner in particular was small in portion and not filling, so I ended up going to a convenience store.

Thoughtful Room Amenities
While we were satisfied with dinner and breakfast, we felt very uncomfortable because the Room (Japanese-style) had torn shoji screens and the futon sheets had holes. It was a disappointing trip to Ikaho, as it made us feel that there was a lack of care in welcoming guests into the Room.

A serene, long-established Accommodation
I had often used this property for year-end parties and similar events, but this was my first time staying as an individual guest. The meals and the Onsen were excellent, and the breakfast buffet in particular had a well-designed layout to prevent lines from forming. The Onsen is spacious and very clean. Most guests were calm and respectful, so I was able to spend a peaceful stay. It also felt like the service had improved. However, the Facility shows significant aging, and the sink drain in the guest Room did not work well—the water continued not to drain properly. This can be very stressful for guests, so I hope it will be improved. Also, the chairs in the Room with a garden were hard and not comfortable to relax in.

Minimum
At check-in, I told the staff what time train I wanted to take from the nearest station and confirmed with the front desk that I would be dropped off at the nearest bus stop. However, the next morning (6:50 a.m.), I realized that the bus stop where I was dropped off had no service connecting to the nearest station. When I called the Hotel, no one answered for about 10 minutes. Only after that was I finally able to explain the situation and get assistance. Why was this information not properly handed over from the front desk conversation on the previous day? The Hotel says it does not accept phone calls until 8:00 a.m., but how are guests supposed to handle problems like this? As for the Facility, from my Room it required taking elevators two or three times to reach both the dining area and the large public bath. The Onsen water quality may be good, but my overall impression was extremely poor.

I was very satisfied with the high-quality dinner options. The service was also courteous, and the staff spoke clearly, which showed excellent training. However, the room was very dry, so it would have been even better if a humidifier had been available.

We stayed in a Room ...
We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. Amenities and body towels had to be picked up on the first floor. In the Room, there was only one bath towel per person. Since there is also an open-air bath, we would like at least two towels each. The open-air bath in the Room did not have hot water running, and if you want to change the temperature you have to call the front desk and have them adjust it, which felt inconvenient. The meal included cold appetizers, and the sukiyaki was already set out from the start; because it was left uncovered, the beef had dried out. There were few dishes overall, and the mixed rice was dry. We ate dinner in a private room, but breakfast was buffet-style. 86,900 yen for two people… I can’t accept it. This Accommodation was very disappointing. The open-air bath at the large public bath is extremely slippery. I slipped and cut my thumb. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, but this is the first time I’ve encountered somewhere that slippery. I think artificial turf should be laid all around the open-air bath area.

Our family of four has a tradition of going on an Onsen trip every New Year. This was our first time in Ikaho, though we’ve visited various places in other prefectures. Among them, Fukuichi exceeded all expectations. The large public baths offered multiple options, and the meals were both delicious and visually delightful—truly exceptional. Located just 0 minutes from the stone steps, it snowed on the day of our visit, making it an unforgettable trip. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful farewell, the staff were kind and attentive throughout. Fukuichi is the only place that made us think, "We want to come back again!" Thank you very much!

Despite the New Year's crowd, the check-in process and other services were handled well by the staff. The complimentary coffee, plum juice, and snacks were excellent. The Room was spacious and comfortable, making for a satisfying stay. The bath was also great. Meals were served in private rooms where we could relax, and we enjoyed delicious New Year's dishes unique to the season. For breakfast, since it’s around the time one might get tired of traditional New Year’s cuisine, having Western options would have been nice. The direct access to Ishidan Street made it very convenient.

A Long-Awaited Visit
I recently stayed here again after a long time. As an elderly couple, we found it a bit challenging to handle everything ourselves, as is common these days. The welcome drinks in the lobby during check-in were excellent, but I was surprised to find only water and tea bags in the Room. With the Winter Tamatebako Course, we enjoyed our meals in a private room and could relax while dining. However, it was disappointing that we couldn't figure out how to order additional drinks. That said, both dinner and breakfast were fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable. The bath was also wonderful. Great value for money—I look forward to visiting again soon!

The meals were excellent and very satisfying. However, when I tried to take a bath in the morning, there was a notice saying "Bath towels are insufficient, please use bath towels instead." I wondered if this was appropriate.

Dusty.
Dust had accumulated in a corner of the wooden floor in the Room, and when I placed my luggage there, it got covered in dust, which was quite surprising. I considered asking for a vacuum cleaner but decided against it as it seemed troublesome. There was a spot where a hanging scroll might have been displayed before, but nothing was there now except for sun-bleached marks. The walls were entirely bare without any decorations, giving off a stark impression—perhaps due to cost-cutting measures—which left me feeling disappointed. However, the overall service wasn't bad.

Dinner was not very satisfying in my personal opinion. The portion seemed small and might not be enough for men. Breakfast was a buffet, which was satisfying! The Onsen was absolutely delightful.

It was delightful to enjoy free drinks and snacks in the lobby. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Additionally, being adjacent to the stone steps made going outside convenient and enjoyable. One slight challenge was that the building felt too spacious, making the walking distance for meals seem long. Staying at this traditional accommodation was a wonderful experience.

Ikaho Onsen
The iron-rich brown Onsen was absolutely amazing. The changing room had a variety of hair dryers from different brands, and there were plenty available, so it never felt crowded. The meals were traditional Japanese set menus, with each dish carefully prepared and delicious. Since we chose a value course, the meat dish was pork. While pork is famous here too, we were hoping for even a small portion of Joshu beef instead. The Room was old but kept very clean and tidy. However, perhaps due to its age, there were no outlets near the bed to charge our phones while keeping them by the pillow for convenience; this made it slightly inconvenient as we couldn’t check the time easily without leaving them nearby. Although there weren’t any snacks in the Room itself, there were plenty of sofas near the front desk where welcome drinks were served along with a nice selection of snacks that we enjoyed trying out. The plum juice was especially delicious! A Lovot robot moving around added an extra touch of charm and relaxation to our stay. Additionally, access to the stone steps from the back entrance was very convenient. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

A relaxing and enjoyable time.
I made a reservation to relax at the end of summer vacation. It was a very satisfying 1-night, 2-day stay with excellent service and a wonderful bath. I was able to unwind completely. The meals were delicious, and the robot in the lobby was soothing. My family is already saying they want to stay here again. We look forward to visiting again!

Senjukaku
The accommodation offered highly satisfying facilities and services. If I had to point out one thing, breakfast was served after 8 AM, which made it crowded, and the buffet supply took some time to be replenished. Other than that, everything was truly fulfilling.
