    Butterbur Shinoda ro...

    Butterbur Shinoda rolls, vinegared dried taro stems, and the breakfast pumpkin soup—everything beyond the main dish was also delicious, with the chef’s kindness and sure touch coming through. The in-room dining service, delivered with just the right timing and a comfortable sense of distance (without over-explaining), is especially appealing. The Onsen in the Room was silky and seemed to cling to the skin; even after returning home, I felt my skin looked “whiter” and noticed a brightening effect. Highly recommended.

    Highly satisfied!

    We stayed at the accommodation with our 5-month-old baby. Although we hadn't made any specific requests, a baby chair and a diaper bin were provided in the room, which was very helpful. Thanks to the in-room dining, we were able to enjoy delicious meals at our own pace without any worries. The staff, including the attendants and everyone within the facility, were incredibly kind to our baby, which we greatly appreciated. Both the large public bath and the private room bath were very comfortable, and the entire facility was clean and pleasant overall. I thought it was a great accommodation when I stayed before having a child, but it turned out to be even more wonderful for families with babies! I would love to visit again.

    Relaxed and enjoyed a leisurely stay.

    I had another comfortable stay this time. The young staff explained the dishes very politely, which made them seem even more delicious. The massage chair, open-air bath, and indoor bath provided a luxurious space where I could relax and unwind—it was perfect. I will visit again!

    I'll be back!

    This was my third visit to Bandai Atami, and while I have stayed at other accommodations before, this is an exceptional accommodation. The spirit of the founder, the proprietress, can be felt throughout the property. The serene atmosphere and independent rooms make it very relaxing. The hot spring water has a high pH level and feels silky smooth, which is great for the skin. The meals are delicious, made with plenty of ingredients from Fukushima Prefecture. Although the portions were a bit large for someone like me who is older, I was very satisfied. Each room is independently structured, ensuring quietness. The private bath in the room was also very spacious—I enjoyed it 10 times during my stay! My wife was absolutely delighted as well. Thank you to everyone at this ryokan for your hospitality and thoughtful care! At the end of our stay, when we were told that there was something important from the proprietress to share with us as guests, I got nervous thinking we might have done something wrong—but it turned out to be about concerns regarding noise from a neighboring child’s voice possibly disturbing us. We hadn’t heard anything at all and had no issues whatsoever—it put me completely at ease. This accommodation comes highly recommended! We look forward to staying again in the future—thank you in advance!

    Spacious Room with Open-Air Bath for a Relaxing Stay

    Stayed at Hanagoromo in a Room with a private open-air bath for the first time. The water temperature was just right, and I enjoyed it three times. It was great to spend my parent's birthday celebration in a relaxing and calm atmosphere. The meals, including dishes adorned with hydrangeas, were visually delightful and delicious.

    Very comfortable stay with children (would love to visit again).

    A few weeks ago, this accommodation was featured on a local TV program, and I stayed here with my 2-year-old grandchildren. The concept of being family-friendly with in-room dining and onsen was very appealing! A room with a private bath and two separate areas sounded perfect. It exceeded my expectations—the staff's hospitality was excellent, the private open-air bath in the room was spacious, and the indoor bath was easy to use. The food was absolutely delicious. I believe it would also be a great place for adults to relax comfortably.

    We stayed here to celebrate a family occasion. Since our destination was a Ryokan, we looked for a place where we could relax. The rooms are all separate, making them very quiet, spacious, and lovely—perfect for unwinding. The meals were served in small courses but had plenty of volume. Every dish highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients and was carefully prepared. Starting with appetizers, followed by sashimi, grilled dishes, and Fukushima beef that we could cook to our liking—it was all absolutely delicious and satisfying. The strawberry parfait dessert was also delightful. At night, being able to choose your pillow felt like a unique service touch. For breakfast, you could choose between Western or Japanese styles as well as options like rice or porridge; even the number of bread slices could be selected! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive—they even prepared a gift for our special celebration. It was truly a wonderful accommodation!

    Expectations were too high, so it was disappointing.

    Visited during the February 25th holiday after reading reviews on IKYU. **Positive Points:** The onsen was great, leaving my skin smooth and soft. **Negative Points:** Due to a lack of staff, the ryokan failed to provide proper guidance or service. Although we were shown to our room, no tea was served, and there was almost no explanation about the room's facilities. When we asked questions, responses were minimal like "It's over there." Even during meals, tea wasn't served, and a teapot was left at the entrance area. There was no farewell or acknowledgment upon departure due to staff shortages. The food wasn’t bad but lacked any distinctive features. While having meals in the room is appreciated, dishes were served cold as they came on chilled plates; even rice came out of an electric rice cooker which felt disappointing—like staying at a simple guesthouse. The futon in our Japanese-style room was thin and caused back pain. Although clean covers were used for the futon, it seemed worn-out and dirty underneath. Additionally, poor room layout (with futon storage located in the dining area) meant that dust would rise when trying to put away bedding; as a result, we had breakfast with bedding still laid out. Overall too many disappointments made it impossible to relax here. Given its high reviews and premium pricing for this area, it left us feeling very let down.

    A relaxing Stays.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality once again. Thanks to you, I was able to spend a relaxing and leisurely time. Here, I can always enjoy delicious meals with peace of mind. This time, the clear soup with tilefish was particularly wonderful and delicious. Also, I was personally delighted that this month's dessert was the much-anticipated strawberry daifuku. The attentive service and perfect timing of the meals served by the attendant made the in-room dining even more enjoyable. I believe the high level of hospitality from everyone at the property is a reflection of their daily dedication. For those seeking a holiday of soaking in the pleasant waters of Bandai Atami, relaxing in a kotatsu in the room, and enjoying delicious meals, this property is perfect.

    It was a very wonderful Stays.

    The meals were delicious both in the morning and evening, just as expected. Even though we were a group of three elderly people, we finished everything, including dessert. The entire property is like an art museum, and the hospitality of the staff who guided us and took care of our room was wonderful. Next time, I plan to visit to see the cherry blossoms blooming above the open-air bath.

    A serious Stays with delicious cuisine

    Stayed on a weekend in December. It's appreciated that there are few onsen Stays that accommodate solo travelers on weekends. The room, adorned with tasteful folk art, was impeccably clean and sparkling everywhere. Despite the cold day, amenities like floor heating made for a comfortable stay. The public bath was simple yet spacious enough, but I enjoyed the private onsen bath in the room. The water is colorless and odorless, but it makes the skin smooth and warms you up well. The cuisine was truly delicate, offering authentic kaiseki dishes that cherished the sense of the season (oh, the dessert was Christmas-themed!). The condiments, such as homemade salt ponzu and dressing, were also excellent. Each dish was brought to the room, allowing for a very luxurious experience. The staff were all gentle and smart. It's an earnest and correct onsen Ryokan without any gimmicks, a reliable Property. Thank you for the hospitality.

    This is a very wonderful Stays.

    I have used this property several times and I am very pleased with it. First of all, the room is spacious with two rooms, allowing for a relaxing stay. Personally, I would be happier if there were more rooms with beds. Since there is an onsen room bath, you can enjoy it at your leisure without worrying about time, and the large public bath is also one of the attractions. Also, the meals are wonderful, and you can always enjoy elaborate Japanese cuisine using seasonal ingredients. It is nice to be able to choose not only rice dishes but also Inaniwa udon and soba in the course meals. It is a very good property with high review ratings, which is understandable.

    It was a good opport...

    It was a good opportunity to invite my hesitant mother to the large public bath, coinciding with the period when "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" was on display. I was grateful to be able to appreciate it while walking slowly down the corridor. The onsen room bath with sturdy handrails and the in-room dining that can be enjoyed without worrying about the surroundings were perfect for staying with the elderly. Thanks to the staff's courteous service and heartfelt dishes, we had another meaningful holiday.

    It was a very lovely Ryokan. The meals were small but more than enough. My spouse and I couldn't finish them.
