Gero Onsen Yunoshimakan

The atmosphere of the main building was wonderful.Maintaining such a historic building must take a lot of effort, so I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well kept it was.This time we chose the newer wing where we could enjoy the Onsen in our Room, but next time I would love to stay in one of the lovely Rooms in the main building, such as Sanraku or Kumoi.Dinner and drinks were delicious, and being able to enjoy them in our Room made it feel truly luxurious.All of the staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, and we made great summer memories. We will definitely come again.

Perhaps because the building is old, there was a slight musty smell, but the Room was clean and the bath was very pleasant. Since the plumbing has just been renovated, I used the in-room bath many times. It was my first time visiting an Onsen in midsummer, but the water temperature had been adjusted so I could soak without feeling overheated.The meals were delicious, with rich dashi flavor. Because the building is old, it may be difficult for guests who are sensitive to odors, but even during Obon I hardly ran into other people except at breakfast. The staff kept a comfortable distance—attentive without being intrusive—and above all, spending time surrounded by nature felt truly worthwhile. My family also said we’d like to stay again.
