A Hotel so good you’ll want to keep it a secret

We stayed here on a family trip with our 5-year-old son. The Hotel is surrounded by nature, and there are even tortoises, so just walking around the grounds feels very refreshing. Since we were traveling with a child, we went sightseeing in the morning, had a late lunch at the Hotel, and spent the afternoon swimming in the pool. It was convenient that we could step directly into the garden from our Room and that the pool was close by. We also appreciated being able to use facilities at the Renaissance Hotel—playing at the beach, enjoying a pool with slides, relaxing in an Onsen, and having tea in the lounge before heading back was wonderful. Having breakfast and lunch included—and being able to use them at the Renaissance as well—was truly appreciated!

    A quiet place to relax

It was a quiet Hotel where you could feel close to nature. However, because of the rain, I couldn’t go for a walk, and needing an umbrella to get around was inconvenient. I didn’t use the bath so I can’t comment on it, but I wish there had been a large public bath. They drove me by cart at check-in, but I didn’t want to call again at check-out, so pulling my suitcase in the rain was tough.

A Hotel You'll Want to Visit Again

This Hotel is surrounded by lush greenery and has a very calm, relaxing atmosphere. Time seemed to pass more slowly, and I was able to unwind and forget about everyday life. The staff’s hospitality was exceptional, and their warm welcome left a lasting impression. I would definitely like to stay here again. Hearing healing music from inside the pool felt truly mystical—it was a first-time experience unlike anything I’ve had before. It perfectly matched the Hotel’s ambiance, and I had a wonderful time.

The typhoon caused a lot of difficulties, and staying at Renaissance Resort Okinawa was unexpected, but it turned into a very enjoyable trip. It gave us even more to look forward to on future trips to Okinawa.

    It was a cozy place.

We stayed in a Garden Cottage Room with a canopy bed, and it was wonderful. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and relaxing in the canopy bed made us very happy. We could also park right in front of the cottage, which was convenient. For breakfast, we had to leave early on the first day, so although there were many options, we couldn’t fully enjoy it. On the second day, we took our time and really enjoyed it—it was delicious. We had fun making our own hot sandwiches and squeezing fresh oranges while eating. We also enjoyed the view from the pool and had a relaxing stay overall. We wished we could have stayed longer. We borrowed a foot bath and used it in our Room as well. This time we went out and couldn’t enjoy everything to the fullest, so we’d love to stay again on our next more leisurely trip.

    I wish I’d known sooner… a great Hotel

Because we visit Okinawa twice a year, we decided to stop staying at our usual private-pool cottage Hotel and try this place as a change. Honestly, we had no expectations at all, but although the Facility is a bit dated, the Room was spotless and perfectly cleaned, making for a very comfortable stay. I had been worried after seeing photos of the older-style bathroom, but it was sparkling clean. There was also none of that musty first-floor smell that can be common in Okinawa. The garden is spacious, so of course you’ll see insects and lizards. But being surrounded by nature is very relaxing. Both breakfast and lunch were delicious, and there are plenty of activities. All the staff were warm and welcoming, and you could really feel how hard they work to run everything with a small team. The Makan Makan dinner buffet was incredibly good—I ate way too much… If I had Chinese food of this level near home, I think it would cost more than double. We joined the yoga and garden walk activities; both were very fulfilling. We were able to join for free as part of the “3 nights or more” perk, which almost made us feel guilty—it was such generous service throughout our stay. This time we stayed as an older couple, but next time we plan to bring our grandchildren. There are many families with small children here, so younger families should be able to relax without worrying. There’s also a coin laundry and vending machines, and it seems that if you stay in a cottage you can park right next to your Room and have an in-room washer/dryer and kitchen. This time we stayed in a Garden Deluxe Room, and having an in-room washer/dryer during a longer stay is truly convenient. The shop also had lots of cute items. We went to the library every day as well. After checkout, we went over to their sister property Renaissance (Hotel) and did even more shopping at the boutique there. If you book a Multiple Night Stay for several nights here, you can also use Renaissance’s luxurious restaurants and facilities! We personally found Coco Garden more relaxing. We will definitely come again next year—thank you in advance.

The old washbasin is creepy and dirty. Stay for Renaissance use.

I stayed twice in one week. The first Room had a darkened bathroom door, which I really disliked. The sink area was also quite dark overall, and it reminded me of an old Ryokan I visited with my parents long ago. Having the refrigerator, cups, and kettle there didn’t feel comfortable. I wanted the refrigerator to be in the Room. Also, the balcony door was hard to open and felt old. The staff were kind, but at check-in they could have mentioned something like, “This Plan includes karaoke—would you like to use it?” I was told it was fully booked until 24:00 today but available tomorrow; when I called again later, they said any time was fine; then after we discussed it as a family and called again, we were told we couldn’t use it because we weren’t using it before checkout. We didn’t confirm “any time,” but guests don’t check Information every time—vague explanations cause misunderstandings. They should clearly say what times are available, and telling guests who are checking out that “any time is fine” is not appropriate. The rental car was also described as free, but only for four hours—an unclear limitation. The library-like space with free drinks (Tefutefu) had a strange smell and didn’t make me want to drink much. The selection/amount was small too. Even if there isn’t a microwave in the guest Rooms, I think there should be one there for heating food. There are only stairs on the way to the guest Rooms, so carrying heavy suitcases when going to check out is inconvenient—there’s no ramp! It was convenient that detergent, fabric softener, and wash-to-dry laundry were free (though ideally a fully automatic machine with minimal loading/unloading would be better). Breakfast was so-so. The atmosphere is very nice. One of the orange-juicing machines was difficult to use; because of that I saw people wasting oranges. It would be better if staff handled it or if the person making French toast did it at the counter—or switch to an automatic machine—to reduce waste. The shuttle bus to Renaissance requires a Reservation. Sometimes there are no buses at certain times depending on the schedule, which is inconvenient. There is also a children’s Facility fee of around 3,700 yen; since you can use Renaissance for one full day after checkout as long as you keep your card key/card with you, you’d lose out if you don’t use it. You can return that card at Renaissance afterward as well; since this Accommodation is in a fairly hard-to-find location, that helped. Parking is free. I made my Reservation because Renaissance access is included—that part exceeded expectations! Everything else felt average overall. Towels can be borrowed for free too, so no issues there.

    Highly recommended accommodation.

I used the late check-in Plan. The staff were wonderful. I had jasmine tea as a welcome drink, and it was delicious. Just as everyone’s Reviews said, the breakfast buffet had a great variety, and everything was tasty. I was satisfied with everything—the view and the Room. I wish I had checked in earlier so I could have relaxed longer.

    Wonderful hospitality

From check-in through the very last moment of check-out, I had many opportunities to be assisted by Manager S in various situations, and I was simply impressed by the consistently courteous, proactive, and sincere service. This was the first time I have ever been so moved by Hotel staff. I found myself thinking I would stay here again even while finishing check-in. This time it was the rainy season and the weather was poor throughout, so I wasn’t able to do much sightseeing. However, thanks to drink service, the library, the Plan I used, and perks offered for a Multiple Night Stay—along with sister Hotels—I was able to enjoy my stay to the fullest. I believe my Room was probably one of the highest grades; it was comfortable (perhaps thanks to the humidity-controlling walls), and the amenities were exceptionally well stocked. Breakfast was as delicious as ever—I ended up eating too much. I would definitely like to stay again. Hopefully it will be sunny next time…

While the Facility is undeniably old, you can spend a quiet and relaxing time here. The meals are also exceptionally delicious. The service is attentive in many ways. Next time, we will stay again with our grandchildren as three generations.

We hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you.

The staff’s service, the Room, and the atmosphere throughout the Facility were all wonderful. Amazing value for money. Unfortunately, it rained throughout our 3-night, 4-day stay, so we couldn’t do any marine activities at all. Hopefully we’ll have better weather next time. When I was relaxing in the Room after breakfast, the housekeeping staff knocked every day to ask whether they could start cleaning, and if not now, how many minutes later would be okay. Because of the heavy rain I hesitated to go out, but I still felt forced to leave the Room. I understand that housekeeping needs to work efficiently and is not trying to push guests out. If there were door-hanger cards such as “Please make room” and “Please do not disturb,” I think it would help both sides avoid any awkwardness.

    We had a wonderful vacation!

This was our second stay—after visiting before and loving the Accommodation, we had long hoped to return, and that wish finally came true. Just as before, the food, the staff, and the Accommodation’s services were all wonderful. We were also happily surprised to find that our Room had been upgraded. Breakfast at Makan Makan is one of the highlights: there is a great variety, everything is delicious, and it lifts your spirits from the morning. We used the dim sum dinner buffet twice, and it was so good we never got tired of it. We also enjoyed karaoke and tennis for free as a family. The distant views are beautiful, and walking around the garden surrounded by greenery feels refreshing. The cozy library and tasteful shop are also favorites of ours. Another lovely service is being able to enjoy drinks such as coffee and smoothies freely during the day. The cute handmade charm we received at checkout warmed our hearts. We would love to come again.

A wonderful Hotel that always puts guests first.

This was my second stay, and I was very satisfied that you arranged a Room where I could watch the sunrise, just as I requested in advance. The meals included in the Plan can also be used at the Renaissance Hotel, but I enjoyed every meal at Cocogarden Resort’s wonderful, atmospheric restaurant—and everything was delicious!! Not only were the dishes excellent, but I was especially impressed by how fresh the lettuce for the breakfast buffet salads was. The bitter melon and pineapple smoothie was also fantastic, and I had it every morning. All of the staff were cheerful and welcoming, which made my stay even more pleasant. This is truly a lovely Hotel with a genuine “guest-first” spirit. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a calm, relaxing resort. Highly recommended!! …That said… it seems to have many repeat guests, so I also hope it doesn’t become too hard to make a Reservation.

    We had a relaxing stay.

Coco Garden is always my first choice when traveling to Okinawa. This was my first solo stay at Coco Garden, so I chose a garden cottage double with a canopy bed. It was perfect for one person!! I enjoyed delicious meals, read while sipping juice in the lounge, and took a walk around the grounds at night. The Pilates class I joined was also fun, thanks to a wonderful instructor. It’s a Hotel that makes me want to come back again soon.

We had a very enjoyable stay, but...

I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation in a very quiet environment. This Plan included a JPY 2,000 in-house voucher, but it was still charged at checkout. Even after I explained, it was difficult to get them to understand, and I ended up checking out feeling very unpleasant. I wish the voucher hadn’t been included in the first place.

Breakfast is something to look forward to every morning.

For the past few years, we’ve stayed for 5 nights during spring break. We’ve stayed in summer as well, but since I’m not good with insects, we decided to visit in spring. When we needed a stroller, we stayed at Renaissance, but for both meals and the Room, Coco Garden is by far our favorite. The buildings and furnishings are old, but they’re well cared for and cherished—I find that even more wonderful than something brand new. The Garden Deluxe Twin has a spacious layout that’s very comfortable and easy to relax in. It feels less like a Hotel and more like a private villa. There are about three breakfast and lunch options, so even on a Multiple Night Stay you won’t get bored. My daily favorites are the rice porridge, Tenshin (crab omelet), green curry, and smoothies. The Okinawan dishes such as chanpuru are also wonderfully delicious. Our child wakes up early looking forward to squeezing fresh orange juice. It’s also great that dragon fruit is available. The free laundry area is extremely convenient. Detergent and fabric softener are always provided, and I was impressed that extra hangers were added for drying laundry as well. A new gym has been added too, but it opens at 9:00—I wish it were available before breakfast. Just one disappointment: While waiting for the shuttle bus, cigarette smoke can be bothersome, so I’d like the smoking area to be moved away from the front of the building. Everyone at both the front desk and the restaurant is truly kind. I’ve never stayed anywhere else where checkout feels this sad. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

    Perfect!

I’ve been staying at Coco Garden for 22 years. Since it’s on the mountain side, there’s no ocean view unless you go to Renaissance, but there is a pool. At night it’s beautifully illuminated and feels like an oasis in the forest. Dinner is all-you-can-eat dim sum with table ordering, while noodles, rice porridge, salad, and Chinese tea are buffet-style. The dim sum is so delicious that I keep coming back! Of course breakfast is great too—once you add shrimp paste to the pho, you’ll be hooked!! Some Rooms have been renovated, but overall the Accommodation does feel its age. Still, the amenities and room cleaning are excellent, so it’s very comfortable. Depending on the Room type, you can park your car right in front of your Room. All the staff are friendly and approachable—their kind service is truly soothing. Coco Garden’s Multiple Night Stay Plan is highly recommended for Okinawa repeat visitors! With wonderful perks included, it’s especially recommended for those who prefer not to move around too much.

    A lovely, tranquil resort.

During our 4-day, 3-night stay, we made full use of all the Club Coco benefits. Every dish at the restaurant “Makan Makan” was delicious—be careful not to overeat. Having free access to the washing machine (detergent and fabric softener are provided) and dryer was a huge help. We took the shuttle bus to the Renaissance Hotel to enjoy the lively family atmosphere, then returned to Coco Garden Resort for a more relaxed vibe—those were wonderful days. We’ve already made our next Reservation, and we can’t wait!

It was amazing, just as the Reviews said!

I finally got to stay at this Accommodation I’d been curious about for a long time (a 2-night Multiple Night Stay including the next day’s Reservation). What drew me in were: 1) The Reviews were excellent, and many people wrote that they wanted to become repeat guests (or already were). 2) I’d also been wanting to try the dim sum order buffet here for ages (also influenced by the Reviews). So I finally stayed—and the result… it was exactly as the Reviews said. A spotless, well-cleaned Room Comfortable, welcoming service from all staff A relaxing atmosphere that feels like a Bali resort Every dim sum dish was delicious—watch out, you’ll eat too much. Breakfast was outstanding too, with great variety and flavor: Japanese, Western, and Okinawan dishes. I’m definitely going to be a repeat guest… My only regret is that it wasn’t hot pot season, so I couldn’t try it. I guess I’ll have to come back for revenge!? Thank you so much for such wonderful memories.

    A Relaxing Accommodation

After taking a limousine bus from Naha, we arrived at our affiliated ultra-luxury Hotel, Renaissance Resort Okinawa. We had about an hour before the shuttle bus departure, so after enjoying the view of the private beach, we had tea in the lounge and waited for the bus while soaking in the upscale atmosphere. We boarded the shuttle bus and arrived at Coco Garden Resort in about 15 minutes. Check-in was handled on reception chairs next to the front desk; we were served jasmine tea and could fill out the form at a relaxed pace. The staff were very attentive. We were then escorted to our Room by an on-site cart. When we entered, it was spacious and felt luxurious. The bath and toilet were separate, there were two sinks, and the bathroom had a washing area; the bathtub was large enough to soak comfortably. We also received four bottles of mineral water. We had made a Reservation for a Garden Twin Room, but when I checked IKYU’s site later, it looked like it was actually a Deluxe Garden Twin Room. When I thanked the front desk for an upgrade, they explained that it wasn’t an upgrade—during this season, a Korean LG Electronics baseball team was staying there, so all Garden Twin Rooms were allocated to them and general guests were moved to Deluxe Garden Twin Rooms instead. For us, it was a welcome change. The gardens at Coco Garden are very spacious, with beautifully maintained tropical plants—an atmosphere that almost makes you feel like you’re abroad. It really lifted our spirits. Dinner was Chinese cuisine and absolutely delicious, and breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options—everything tasted great and we were very satisfied. The next day, we borrowed electric bicycles from the Hotel and explored around the area. We stayed for two nights; this Hotel felt soothing and offered a truly relaxing place to unwind at our own pace. Next time we stay here as Accommodation guests again, we’d like to try one of their cottages instead.

    It was amazing!

I visited Okinawa in the off-season because I just wanted to relax. After reading Reviews, this was my first time staying here. When I arrived, I was a little worried by the slightly old and quiet-looking exterior, but once shown around, I found the Room was spacious and there were all the amenities I wanted—an inner courtyard, a fitness gym, and even a library! Both the Chinese course dinner at the Hotel and breakfast were delicious, and it made me very happy. There were many older couples staying there as well, which gave the place a warm feel. This is a Hotel I’d love to visit again—whether on my own or with someone.

A Hotel with a Sense of Timeless Elegance

Requesting the second floor of the Deluxe Garden Room was a great choice (note: only stairs are available). The view from the window features a tropical rainforest garden, sloped ceilings with ceiling fans, and a slight Ubud, Bali vibe. From part of the hotel's only restaurant, Makan Makan, you can see the sea in the distance overlooking a port—though nighttime views are more beautiful. This is an older Hotel that has been well-maintained and renovated over time. They take care to preserve high-quality furnishings, giving it a charming atmosphere. However, be mindful when closing heavy doors as they can make loud noises that may disturb neighboring rooms. The Chinese cuisine at the restaurant lived up to its reputation—everything was delicious. You can also enjoy reasonably priced meals with several à la carte options (though limited in variety). For “beautiful beaches and dining variety,” which this resort lacks slightly, we enjoyed these at their sister property Renaissance Resort via shuttle bus. Staying for three nights comes with Club Coco benefits. These perks allow you to fully enjoy both hotels at great value (a bit of planning might help maximize your experience!). While many hotels in Okinawa tend to be lively with families or international guests, Coco Resort offers a more serene stay due to its older clientele (perhaps also because it was an off-season weekday).

    Would love to visit again!

I stayed here for a trip to Ishikawa. It’s less than a 10-minute drive to the bustling downtown area of Ishikawa. The hotel is nestled in the forest, and from the second-floor window of my room, I could enjoy the greenery of the trees and hear birds chirping. At night, being on a hilltop, I could see beautiful city lights. The staff were all calm yet professional, providing hospitality beyond expectations at this accommodation. Breakfast included not only local dishes but also many Asian options, giving it an international feel—like being in Bali while actually in Okinawa. I wished I could have stayed longer and even considered paying extra to extend my checkout time. It's easy to understand why there are so many repeat guests!

    Calm and relaxing atmosphere

This was my third stay, and I am very satisfied with the excellent service. There are many benefits for a 5-night stay, including the option to have breakfast at the Renaissance Resort Okinawa Hotel, shuttle service, and access to the onsen, allowing me to fully enjoy my vacation. The staff service was also outstanding, and I wished I could have stayed longer. If Yamada Onsen is available for stays of 5 nights or more, I would love to visit again.

    Favorite Hotel

I have stayed more than 10 times, and it was a consistently comfortable stay. The food is delicious, and I always end up eating too much. However, it was disappointing that the French toast at breakfast was no longer available as I had been looking forward to it. That said, this remains my favorite hotel, and I look forward to staying here again next time.
