    Birthday Trip

    This trip was to celebrate my mother’s 91st birthday. We were blessed with great weather and had a wonderful time. The meals were delicious, especially the French-style spiny lobster—her favorite—and she seemed very satisfied. We also requested a birthday cake, and the presentation with a red preserved rose made it truly memorable. She was in high spirits, saying she wants to come back for her 100th birthday celebration. Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtful hospitality.

    Bathroom and more

    Stayed in Harbor View Room on the 5th floor. There were issues with the building’s overall facilities. The Onsen requires driving, which is inconvenient. The Room bathroom in particular was dark, outdated, and terrible—worse than a second-rate Business Hotel. Unless you book an expensive ocean-view Room, there are no real options. A top-tier dinner course for two cost 80,000 yen. With this bathroom, I would not return. Also, the male staff member at the lobby bar in the evening showed no sense of hospitality—again below second-rate.

    The meals were delicious.

    This was my first stay since the COVID-19 pandemic. Last time it was quiet, but now the large public bath gets very crowded. The breakfast venue was also lively with many guests, possibly a group of pilgrimage walkers. The meals were refined and absolutely delicious. I was also happy that the in-Room amenities were by Mikimoto. It would be helpful if the crowding status of the large public bath could be checked in advance so guests wouldn’t have to wait. Watching the sunrise from the lobby lounge became a wonderful memory. I’d like to stay again on a special occasion.

    We enjoyed a wonderf...

    We enjoyed a wonderful trip with great weather and a panoramic ocean view from the Room. The sound of the waves was soothing and relaxing. The staff were cheerful and greeted us with lovely smiles. In particular, the staff at Cape Mondo during dinner were kind and attentive, making our meal very pleasant. Although it was Japanese cuisine, the ingredients were fresh and everything was delicious. We would love to visit again.

    Important Notes for Guests

    I stayed with my parents. All staff were extremely courteous, and it truly felt like a long-established Hotel. The views and meals were wonderful, and overall we were satisfied with the stay. However, there are a few points I wish I had known in advance. The Onsen is not inside the Hotel; you use it by taking the Shuttle Service to their affiliated property, Toba International Hotel Shiojitei. For my elderly parents, this seemed to be a bit of a burden. Also, the dinner venue cannot be used in loungewear; you need to change into appropriate attire before going. Overall, the Hotel gave an impression of valuing formality. We had imagined a more relaxed stay like at an Onsen Ryokan where you can spend time comfortably in loungewear, so this was somewhat different from what we expected. The service and hospitality were excellent, so I would recommend it to those looking for a luxury Hotel experience. On the other hand, if you are traveling with elderly guests or expecting a casual stay like an Onsen Ryokan, I suggest confirming these details in advance.

    Very satisfied with the service.

    When staying at a regional Hotel, I know it’s not fair to compare it with top-tier Hotels in Tokyo, but I often end up dissatisfied with the service. This time, I didn’t feel that at all. The hospitality was outstanding and truly impressed me. The restaurant meal (French cuisine) was delicious and offered excellent value for money. If I had to mention one thing, the main meat dish was a bit cold, which was slightly disappointing. I liked it so much that it has become a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

    Delicious meals!!

    We requested a Japanese-style dinner, and everything was delicious—we were very satisfied. Breakfast also included local specialties, and we enjoyed every dish. There were a few hygiene-related points that concerned us, so overall it’s one star less, but we had a comfortable stay.

    It is a good Hotel.

    I have no complaints at all, but if I had to say something, the meals were delicious yet nothing really stood out (nothing particularly memorable). The staff service was excellent. The view from the terrace was amazing.

    With breathtaking views and an excellent lounge selection, if I had to be picky…

    The thoughtful consideration you showed in advance for my in-laws with mobility issues, as well as your support for our anniversary, exceeded our expectations 100%. Our whole family was deeply moved by your heartfelt and wonderful hospitality. The suite we stayed in with club lounge access offered a first-class ocean view from the Room, and the food and drinks served in the lounge were also of very high quality—we were extremely satisfied on that front. In particular, the Hotel’s signature and popular cheesecake was offered in different flavors at tea time, cocktail time, and morning time; each one was beautifully made and truly delicious. The clam gratin we had during cocktail time is also a taste I still can’t forget. That said, although the lounge itself was often quiet depending on the time of day, it is compact overall. Perhaps due to the ceiling height as well, once more guests arrived the space quickly felt crowded, which made it a little hard to fully relax. If you are expecting an overwhelming sense of openness that makes you forget other guests are there, or an adults-only private atmosphere, your impression may differ slightly. Also, since the lounge closes early at 8:00 p.m., it felt a bit insufficient for those who want to spend their evenings at a leisurely pace. For dinner we enjoyed authentic French cuisine at Seahorse, the main dining restaurant. Every dish was excellent; however, it was very busy inside and had quite a lively atmosphere. For adults who prefer the serene luxury typical of classic Hotels and want to savor their dinner quietly afterward, this may come down to personal preference. Even so—starting with your attentive care before our stay—the staff’s service on the hospitality side is truly top-class. Considering overall value for money, this is an outstanding Hotel, and I would recommend it as a place where you can confidently entrust an important anniversary stay.

    The French dinner was outstanding!

    We arrived late after visiting Ise Grand Shrine and only needed a place to sleep, so we chose a simple Room. As for the meals, we were very satisfied with both the breakfast buffet and the French dinner. The atmosphere was also great. We were also very happy with the staff’s service. On the other hand, a few things could have been better: There was no welcome drink. After arriving, I wanted to enjoy a coffee while looking at the sea, but there was no machine in the Room—only two single-serve drip coffee packets. Since there is a lounge and a lovely terrace next to the entrance, I thought it would be nice if they provided a self-service coffee machine so guests could relax there. (The bar was closed. This would likely be solved by booking a Room with lounge access, but this time we didn’t plan to use the lounge enough to justify an upgrade.) Regarding the Room, it said it was renovated in 2019, but the toilet door had wallpaper applied and looked poorly finished, which made it feel quite cheap. The bathroom shower and hair dryer—and even the Onsen hair dryers—were ReFa products. As an IKYU Diamond member, we received complimentary drinks at dinner, and I was pleased by how many options there were. We also had a perk of being driven individually to the station; when we mentioned that we wanted to go to Mikimoto instead, the driver kindly took us there as well. It wasn’t rigid at all—we really appreciated it! It left an even better impression right at the end of our stay. Overall, for this price range, we were extremely satisfied!

    This is my first tim...

    This is my first time writing a Review of an Accommodation, not only on IKYU. Because it was such a wonderful Hotel, I would like to share my thoughts. Everyone I met—the front desk staff, the restaurant and lounge staff, and the drivers of the Shuttle Service car and Shuttle Service bus—was truly kind and greeted us with warm smiles. I am sincerely grateful. The regular Shuttle Service bus from the station was convenient, and it was also great to be able to easily visit the neighboring Shioritei. From both our Room and the entrance, we could see the beautiful sea, and the Facility felt exceptionally clean. Above all, the hospitality from the staff was outstanding. We stayed with young children, and everyone spoke kindly to them and treated them with smiles. The location, cleanliness, delicious food, and service from all staff were exceptional—this is a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again.

    There were many Hote...

    There were many Hotel staff members, both younger and more experienced, and everyone was very friendly—the hospitality was outstanding. I traveled with my daughter, and although I didn’t mention anything in advance, the meal included in our Plan was perfectly adjusted for a child (10 years old), with a nice sense of luxury while also tailoring the portion size. We truly appreciated it. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. Our guest Room had a harbor view. It was spacious enough, but we did notice some signs of age, such as wear around the bathroom area and torn wallpaper near the closet. Still, thanks to the Onsen and the thoughtful staff, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. Thank you very much! We would love to stay again.

    This time, we stayed...

    This time, we stayed at the Ocean View Club. The view from the Room’s large windows was amazing. We tried every kind of cheesecake in the club lounge, and they were all delicious. Above all, every staff member provided wonderful service. Thank you very much. It was an Accommodation that made us want to come back again soon.

    Enjoy a glossy, radiant soak in our pearl bath.

    The Room’s unit bath showed its age, but everything else was extremely satisfying. The pearl bath was wonderful. Even in the rain, we were provided Shuttle Service by HiAce, and the toasted marshmallows after the bath were delicious. Our skin with pearl powder had a subtle glow and sheen—an extraordinary, truly satisfying experience. Each dish was small in portion, but the service and ingredients were excellent. In particular, the one-drink-per-person benefit for IKYU Diamond members felt like a great value. The breakfast buffet was also outstanding in quality, variety, and service, and we were able to relax and enjoy it at a leisurely pace. We stayed on a day of heavy rain so the view was rainy as well, but our satisfaction more than made up for it—I would love to stay again.

    We highly recommend the Club Lounge.

    It wasn’t just the ocean view—the Room interior and overall design were wonderful as well. It was truly comfortable, and I was able to relax throughout my stay. Being able to use the club lounge made it even more satisfying. The bath (large public bath) is in a separate building, and I was told that Shuttle Service by bus is available, but if it isn’t raining, I think it’s also nice to walk there as a short stroll. (The bath may be a bit challenging for elderly guests.) When visiting Ise Shrine again, I plan to stay at this Hotel again.

    The food and service are excellent.

    We stayed for one night during Golden Week in 2026. The French dinner was excellent. We consulted in advance about foods we dislike and two allergies, and they served dishes that took these into account. Every dish was outstanding. We were also very satisfied with the staff’s attentive hospitality. We would like to stay again someday.

    Wonderful Hotel

    As expected of a Resort Hotel, this Hotel is excellent and well-balanced in every aspect—Room, views, dining, and staff. The walk from the Room to the large public bath is a bit long, which might feel slightly unsettling for some guests, especially women. Depending on how you look at it while enjoying the scenery, though... I also felt the souvenir shop could have a bit more variety. I was hoping to see a beautiful starry sky, but unfortunately it was cloudy—what a shame. I’d like to stay again on a day with better weather.

    Exceptional hospitality.

    This was my first visit, and the service was truly wonderful! To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations, but the food was delicious and I was very satisfied. Everything was so attentive, and I had a very comfortable time. I’d love to visit again!

    It was an Accommodation where I would love to stay again.

    All the staff were courteous and kind, so I was able to relax throughout my stay. I used the club lounge and enjoyed the cheesecake—it was delicious. The Room was clean and spacious, and it was a truly refreshing trip with ocean views. Thank you very much. Just one point: there is a step (stairs?) at the entrance to the bathroom/vanity area, and I almost missed my footing if I wasn’t careful, so I deducted one point for that. Otherwise, it was a very satisfying Accommodation. When I visit the Ise area again, I would definitely like to stay here.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    This was my first stay. The view from the lobby was wonderful and very refreshing! The staff were excellent, and everyone was kind and courteous. (Except for the shop staff.) The Room also had an ocean view, and the sunrise was beautiful—waking up felt truly out of the ordinary. However, I did feel that the Room was a bit old. There were hairs in the toilet and bathroom, and there was a large buildup of dust around the air-conditioning vent, so I would like to see more thorough cleaning. The food was very delicious. This was my mistake, but since I chose the most affordable course, the portions were small and I filled up on bread lol Next time, I’d like to try a more substantial course. I also thought it was a great service that guests can use the Onsen at an affiliated Hotel.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    I wanted to take it easy for a bit, so after visiting Ise Shrine, I stayed at this highly rated Accommodation. I wanted an ocean view, and since the bed placement by the window looked great, I chose the harbor view—and it was absolutely the right choice! It was wonderful to just lie back and relax while looking up at the sky. As for the large public bath, I wondered about having to go outside to get there, but it wasn’t an issue at all. My skin actually looked beautifully radiant afterward, which really lifted my mood. Staff members checked in frequently, so even the changing area was very clean. Also, many of the staff were calm and composed in every way, which made for a truly relaxing stay. I’d love to visit again.

    I’m truly glad I chose this place.

    Five of us—high school classmates on a girls’ trip—planned our Ise Grand Shrine visit after deciding to stay at this Hotel. We expected it would be wonderful, but it exceeded our imagination. There was a birthday among us, though we hadn’t told the staff. During dinner, they suddenly brought out a birthday plate—what a surprise! My friends thought I had requested it, but I hadn’t. The staff had overheard us chatting privately as we sat down about it being her birthday and joking about giving her the “birthday seat,” and they prepared the surprise for us. We were deeply moved by their thoughtfulness and sincerity. Our friend was so happy she even cried tears of joy. It has been 50 years since we graduated high school, and this was a truly wonderful Hotel that warmed our hearts and brought our friendship even closer.

    A Hotel You’ll Want to Visit Again

    It was a wonderful Hotel in every way—both the facilities and the service. The view from the Room was beautiful, and I sat on the sofa placed by the window, watching it for hours. The ever-changing scenery—sea, islands, passing fishing boats, and sightseeing ferries—kept me captivated. And it wasn’t just the view. The Room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well stocked with amenities. It was extremely comfortable. The lounge food was delicious and visually delightful—I almost ate too much even before dinner. Time also seemed to pass quietly and leisurely there. For dinner we had French cuisine; both the flavors and the staff’s service were excellent, making for a truly blissful experience. The bouillabaisse in particular was outstanding! A small touch that meant a lot: our names were printed on the course menu, which made us feel genuinely welcomed. From pick-up to reception, restaurant, lounge, and shop staff, everyone provided heartfelt hospitality with great attention to detail. It was a truly pleasant stay. I would love to visit again in another season.

    This was my first stay. The view from the Room was outstanding, and although it was only one night, I was able to truly relax. I sincerely appreciate the wonderful hospitality from all the staff—from the welcome and check-in to guidance within the Hotel and service during meals.     An Accommodation You’ll Want to Return To

    We stayed on the Club Floor. The spacious Room had a wall of windows with a beautiful ocean view. The amenities were by Mikimoto, and we also received a face mask pack. Light meals are available in the Club Lounge, and since we had eaten a big lunch, the Club Lounge was more than enough for dinner. The Onsen requires a short walk, but the Pearl Aurora bath was soothing and beautifully shimmering. The staff were very pleasant, and we wished we could have stayed one more night.

    Back in Toba after a long time

    I visited Toba again after a long time and stayed here on this trip. This was my second stay; my previous visit was in 2021, so nearly five years had passed before I knew it. During that time, the interior seems to have been significantly renovated, with additions such as an upgraded lounge. Compared with before, the overall atmosphere felt calmer and more upscale. This time I chose a Room with an attached Japanese-style tatami area rather than one of the newer guest rooms, as I wanted to relax at a slower pace. It doesn’t have an ocean view, but the Room was spacious enough and very quiet, allowing me to unwind comfortably. As I get older, I’m reminded how nice it is to be able to stretch out and lie down on tatami. For dinner we had a French course meal; the menu was well put together, the portions were reasonable, and everything was delicious. Accommodations in Mie tend to feel slightly pricey overall, but considering what you get here, it felt fairly priced and offered good value for money. A Room like this with a tatami area could easily cost more at other Accommodations. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that there is no large public bath within the Hotel itself—you need to go to Shiojitei (an affiliated Facility). As an Onsen lover I considered going for a morning bath, but unfortunately it was raining; I wasn’t sure whether there was an indoor connection from the harbor-view side either, so I decided against it. There is Shuttle Service available and it’s only about a five-minute walk anyway, but having to leave the building does feel like a bit of extra hassle. That said, since this is a Hotel rather than an Onsen inn proper, that may be unavoidable. Overall though, it was a highly satisfying Accommodation where I could relax in peace and truly enjoy the meals.

    We were very satisfied with both the large public bath and the breakfast buffet.

    The views from the Room and terrace are outstanding! The Hotel provides a Shuttle Service by minibus to the large public bath at Shiojitei. I was a little worried it might be extremely crowded if guests from both the Hotel and Shiojitei all used it, but even though we stayed on a Monday during spring break, it wasn’t as busy as I expected. It may depend on the time of day. We were too late to make a dinner Reservation at Seahorse and ended up dining out, but while walking back along the road at night, the minibus driver kindly noticed us climbing the hill and offered us a ride. They also came to our Room to pick up our suitcase for shipping home. Everyone—the front desk staff, the entrance staff, and the minibus drivers—was kind, making our stay very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent; in particular, the spiny lobster bisque was unbelievably delicious. Of course, every other item was tasty as well. As expected of a Hotel that welcomes members of the Imperial Family. I would definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance. Next time, I’ll be sure to make an early Reservation for dinner at Seahorse.

    It was comfortable.

    As last year, I stayed again and all the staff were very pleasant. The Facility includes a standard EV charger, soap at the in-room toilet sink, and a grab bar on the edge of the bathtub.
