We were happy to see the fireworks at night. There is room for improvement in Room cleaning and breakfast service.

On the night we arrived, there was a fireworks display very close by. During the summer vacation period, it was held every day. It was a wonderful event. The front desk and dinner service were attentive and made us feel comfortable. We stayed in the Harbor Wing. Unfortunately, there were hairs in the toilet and bathroom. Breakfast: We were told it was crowded and asked to use a separate room. When we said we would wait instead, we were unnecessarily warned that there were waiting guests so it would be quite a long wait—but we were seated immediately. It remained busy afterward, yet no one else seemed to be directed to the separate room. Why the different treatment? Was the “waiting list” not true? The food was delicious.

    Fireworks, after-dinner herbal tea

As it was during the summer holidays, we were able to enjoy the fireworks from the terrace seating. The view was excellent. Dinner was a luxurious experience—beautifully presented and everything was delicious. We felt even happier with the choice of herbal tea after the meal. The Harbor View Tatami Room had a wonderful view and a spacious, relaxing layout, so we could unwind at our own pace. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your support.

Thank you for having us for one night. First, we had an unsettling experience with the Shuttle Service between the Hotel and Toba Station. A staff member mistakenly mixed up our luggage with another guest’s and unloaded it at Shiojitei, where the bus stopped along the way. I feel this showed a lack of attentiveness. Fortunately, the other guest noticed, so it did not turn into a complete mix-up. Also, in our Room, the sink drainage was extremely poor and water remained pooled for a long time. Even washing our hands was difficult. We understand that temperature preferences vary, but we felt the water in the large public bath was too hot to soak comfortably. It also seemed like other guests were leaving quickly as well. As for the hair dryers in the large public bath, perhaps we were using them incorrectly, but they would stop shortly after being turned on. It took a long time to dry our hair, and although we went to relax, we ended up feeling more tired instead. We also saw other guests struggling with how to use them multiple times. Dinner was delicious. The view from the entrance terrace was very beautiful, and the café cheesecake was also excellent. However, when paying at the café there was an error in the amount charged; mistakes can happen, but we felt their response at that time was very careless. Overall, there were many moments when we felt a lack of hospitality. Thank you again for having us for one night.

    During the Obon holi...

During the Obon holiday season, our family of four stayed here to celebrate a 60th birthday. Since we had family members in their 20s and 30s, we chose a Western-style option (breakfast buffet) rather than a Japanese-style one—and it was absolutely the right choice! We really enjoyed the terrace and the beautiful views. The Room was wonderful with an ocean view, and the interior was chic as well. Above all, being able to relax in the club lounge and enjoy tea time, cocktail time, and the breakfast buffet felt truly luxurious. We were also impressed by the staff’s hospitality. When using Shiojitei’s baths, they would bring a car around if we asked on the spot, and both in the restaurant and even in the hallways we were greeted warmly. Even while waiting for our return bus to Toba Station, they kindly offered to look after our luggage... A highly recommended Hotel!

    The Onsen was clean.

It was great that Shuttle Service to the separate Onsen building was available at any time. The Onsen felt clean and was beautifully maintained. The open, scenic design of the front desk area was nice, but considering the price, my honest impression was that the Room and meals were somewhat underwhelming compared with other Hotels I’ve stayed at.

I’d love to stay here again.

The club lounge was wonderful—relaxing while enjoying the ocean view. The Room was just the right size for two and was clean and comfortable. Even the pajamas, bedding, and slippers were made of high-quality materials. We had lunch at Seahorse, and it was delicious—we were very satisfied. We would love to visit again with our family.

As last year, we stayed for two nights in the Ocean View Suite. We were able to see again the staff member who took great care of us at the French restaurant during dinner last time, and my wife was truly delighted. Dining while enjoying champagne was exceptional. We also looked forward to the pearl bath again this time. We enjoyed chatting with the driver who provided Shuttle Service to and from the Ryokan. (It’s only a few minutes, but they will drive you anytime.) With Club Lounge access, it’s nice to relax comfortably at your table for breakfast and then go to the buffet from the lounge. Even though it’s far from Tokyo, everything—the views, food, pearl bath, and Club Lounge—is wonderful, so we’re always glad we came. We will visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    It’s a wonderful Hotel.

This is my favorite Hotel. This time, I visited with my grandchild for the first time, and we had a wonderful time. The meal at Cape Mondo was also very delicious. However, I was disappointed that the seahorses were gone. I would love to have seahorses kept there again so I can hold one. Whenever I went to the Seahorse restaurant, I always made sure to see them. Thank you in advance.

    The meal was excellent.

This was our first stay during the summer holidays. We had originally planned to visit Kumamoto, but due to the earthquake we changed our plans at short notice and stayed in Mie instead. From the open, airy lobby and terrace onward, it was a truly pleasant space. The French dinner was excellent—both the spiny lobster and abalone were delicious. The paired wines matched each dish perfectly, making for a wonderful time. The children’s meals were not typical “kids’ dishes,” but authentic cuisine, and our child was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet was also outstanding, with items such as clam dobin-mushi and rice porridge flavored with Japanese pepper—everything was delicious. The Room was spacious with a great view, and very comfortable. The staff’s hospitality felt genuinely heartfelt, and my mother was delighted as well. We would definitely like to stay again.

    So-called Imperial Suite Room

As the title says. In addition, the decline in quality of the club lounge made this an extremely disappointing stay. The Imperial Suite Room—the only one of its kind—felt worn and outdated, with damage and age noticeable on the walls and doors (everything except the toilet area). Is this really a suite? There was hair stuck to the towels. They brought replacements, but it was delivered by a middle-aged man in casual clothes. There was also hair left in the bathroom. Since it’s a rare view bath, I kept the blinds open, but the upper area had dirty mold stains. There were also insects, so I contacted the front desk and had them deal with it. After watching the fireworks, while lowering the blinds, a spider came down hanging from above. When I tried to remove it with a bathrobe, insects started flying—there were three. An utterly unpleasant Room. There is no way this should be acceptable as an Imperial Room. I contacted the front desk and they changed my Room, but that was also to another one-of-a-kind option: a Mijumaru-themed Room. It’s cute, but it was close to 10 p.m., and I was exhausted. I used to like the club lounge after it opened because of its good quality, but at dinner time they served fried items that were still cold—not just cooled down; they served them chilled along with cold dishes/containers. When I complained, they said I could warm them up in the toaster next to it—but serving food that guests have to reheat just to feel like eating shows no consideration for putting extra work on guests. As for milk for tea pots: they said it was probably prepared at lunchtime and offered to reheat it if I wanted; when I declined, they said they could bring a new one—but I declined as well. That level of management is unacceptable. Left out from 12:00 until 19:30—hygienically impossible. The menu has also deteriorated far too much now that two years have passed since opening. I received apologies from both the Accommodation manager and housekeeping manager, but that doesn’t erase how unpleasant this experience was. I’ve stayed at other group Hotels several times and even used Mikimoto spa treatments before—but I can’t go back anymore.

    The staff are wonderful.

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, and throughout our visit we could really feel how wonderful the Hotel is through the staff. There is a separate building with an Onsen next door, and it was a short walk outside from within the property. Being able to go there while looking out at the sea made it very comfortable. We also got to try roasting marshmallows at night, which was a lot of fun (the gentleman there was also very pleasant). The bath amenities were excellent as well. We had breakfast for two days, and since there was a wide variety of options, we really enjoyed it. If I had to mention one thing, more Hotels these days allow guests to take drinks back to their Room, so it would have been even better if that were available. When we visit Toba again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

    A long-established business

As expected of a long-established Hotel, the service was outstanding. The view of Toba Bay from the Room and the walkway to the private pier were both very satisfying. However, some Facilities felt a bit dated, and we had to use stairs from the lobby to the Room. If we had contacted them in advance, I think they would have accommodated us.

A hotel that makes you glad you chose to stay here.

This was our second stay, the first in five years, to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. Just like last time, all of the staff provided truly wonderful service. I was looking forward to the lounge, which wasn’t there on our previous visit. When you think of Toba International Hotel, you think of cheesecake—so it was great to be able to enjoy it there! All of the food was delicious and very satisfying. Some hotel lounges offer so many items that it feels like a full dinner, but I’ve always wondered about that; this one felt just right. At dinner, a staff member said to us, “It’s been a while since your last stay,” which made me really happy. The food was delicious again this time as well. Thank you for beautifully preparing the dessert plate with the message we requested for our celebration. We also enjoyed the Pearl Aurora bath and had a hearty breakfast—overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. We would definitely love to stay again.

    This is a wonderful Hotel.

The view from the Room is outstanding. The club lounge offers a great selection of light snacks and alcohol, with most items featuring local products. Breakfast is also carefully prepared using local and seasonal ingredients. This historic Hotel has welcomed members of the Imperial Family, and the staff can share a lot of helpful information about Ise Grand Shrine. I always learn something new here. The shop carries high-quality items, so you can purchase with confidence. With warm and welcoming staff, this is a wonderful Hotel that I highly recommend.

    I found a wonderful Hotel.

I found a wonderful Hotel. I visit Ise Grand Shrine about once a year, but it had been a while since I last stayed in Toba. After getting off the Shuttle Service bus, I arrived at a truly lovely Hotel. The Room was clean and comfortable, and I was able to relax. Netflix worked, there was also a speaker, and there were both Japanese- and Western-style sweets as well as drinks—more than enough. We were able to use the lounge, which offered cake, scones, cookies, rice crackers, snacks, chocolate, and plenty of beverages. My husband was thrilled that he could drink as much of the local “Smack” juice as he wanted. The space was spacious too, and everyone enjoyed it in their own way. Since it was hot outside, the air conditioning sometimes felt strong, but we still spent a very pleasant time there. For dinner we chose French cuisine. Even in our casual travel clothes, we could relax and enjoy beautifully presented and delicious dishes. We could also choose our complimentary drink from an entire drink menu book. The large public bath is in a separate building, but cars continuously circulate among the three buildings, so it was easy to get around even late at night. It was my first time trying the sparkling pearl bath—it felt unique and wonderful. Breakfast was excellent as well; with a smile they said to us something like “There’s so much I’d love to tell you,” mentioning things like Thai curry in the lounge and new items on the restaurant menu. The summer vegetables and fruit I love were delicious too—I ate plenty. Everything was comfortable and enjoyable. I would love to visit again.

This Hotel truly makes you feel happy.

I can always relax here, and this time was no exception. It suddenly got hot, but I was able to truly unwind in a comfortable setting. Ever since the lounge opened, I’ve looked forward to wondering which cheesecake it will be today. I also enjoy pairing it with delicious local drinks like alcohol and orange juice, and this time they had clams too—I was thrilled. I’m happy that breakfast can be enjoyed both in the lounge and at the regular dining venue. Since we were traveling with a baby, my mother and the baby gave up on using Shiojitei’s Onsen, but my grandmother enjoyed it on her own. She felt a bit lonely. All of the staff were incredibly kind, which made us very happy. We’ll visit again. Thank you very much.

    Comfortable.

I have been staying here for the past few years whenever I visit Ise Grand Shrine. The service is excellent and the Room is comfortable, so I keep coming back. I also dine at the French restaurant in the Hotel, and I truly appreciate that they accommodate my requests—it’s always delicious and a pleasure. However, there is one elderly staff member (I’m not sure if they are in a senior position) who unfortunately does not come across as very pleasant. Aside from that, I always have a very comfortable stay. Thank you again for this visit.

    High-quality time!!

Visiting Toba International Hotel again after 20 years, I was able to spend an exceptionally comfortable, high-quality time thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff. And the best reward for both mind and body is none other than the open-air bath. Soaking up to my shoulders in the sparkling Pearl Bath, and as I exhale, the fatigue and stress that had built up seem to melt into Toba International Hotel’s waters and fade away. As a suggestion, I would appreciate it if the Club Lounge hours could be extended from 20:00 to 22:00. I feel sorry to make so many requests of my beloved Toba International Hotel, but I would be grateful for your consideration. A Hotel that creates happiness—I'd love to visit Toba International Hotel again. I sincerely wish continued prosperity for the General Manager of Toba International Hotel and all staff members.

It’s disappointing that there’s no consideration for guests staying multiple nights.

I stayed here two years ago and was very satisfied, so this time I chose a Multiple Night Stay. I was looking forward to the club lounge, which I liked for tea time and cocktail time, but the menu was exactly the same on both days. I wish there had been at least two variations, such as changing it each day. It was disappointing, as I felt there wasn’t enough consideration or hospitality for guests staying multiple nights.

    It was excellent.

The terrace offers stunning views and is a relaxing place to unwind morning, noon, and night. Experiencing an Onsen with pearl powder for the first time was unique—the shimmer settles over your whole body. Even in the older wing, the Room was more than clean enough, and all the Hotel staff were very kind. The signature cheesecake is absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The shrimp bisque at breakfast was also excellent. Everything else was tasty too—I wanted seconds of many dishes, but I can’t eat that much, so I didn’t go back for much. I’d love to visit again.

    Stunning Ocean View

Thank you for your consistently wonderful hospitality. I stayed in the Ocean View Suite Club because I was traveling with my mother (who loves the view from the Room), and it exceeded our expectations. We were also fortunate to see the Nippon Maru, which was (probably) docked in Toba, as well as a Japan Self-Defense Forces training vessel. The amenities were excellent, and the drinks in the club lounge were especially delicious. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    Birthday Trip

This trip was to celebrate my mother’s 91st birthday. We were blessed with great weather and had a wonderful time. The meals were delicious, especially the French-style spiny lobster—her favorite—and she seemed very satisfied. We also requested a birthday cake, and the presentation with a red preserved rose made it truly memorable. She was in high spirits, saying she wants to come back for her 100th birthday celebration. Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtful hospitality.

    Bathroom and more

Stayed in Harbor View Room on the 5th floor. There were issues with the building’s overall facilities. The Onsen requires driving, which is inconvenient. The Room bathroom in particular was dark, outdated, and terrible—worse than a second-rate Business Hotel. Unless you book an expensive ocean-view Room, there are no real options. A top-tier dinner course for two cost 80,000 yen. With this bathroom, I would not return. Also, the male staff member at the lobby bar in the evening showed no sense of hospitality—again below second-rate.

    The meals were delicious.

This was my first stay since the COVID-19 pandemic. Last time it was quiet, but now the large public bath gets very crowded. The breakfast venue was also lively with many guests, possibly a group of pilgrimage walkers. The meals were refined and absolutely delicious. I was also happy that the in-Room amenities were by Mikimoto. It would be helpful if the crowding status of the large public bath could be checked in advance so guests wouldn’t have to wait. Watching the sunrise from the lobby lounge became a wonderful memory. I’d like to stay again on a special occasion.

We enjoyed a wonderful trip with great weather and a panoramic ocean view from the Room. The sound of the waves was soothing and relaxing. Although it was Japanese cuisine, the ingredients were fresh and everything was delicious. We would love to visit again.

    Important Notes for Guests

I stayed with my parents. All staff were extremely courteous, and it truly felt like a long-established Hotel. The views and meals were wonderful, and overall we were satisfied with the stay. However, there are a few points I wish I had known in advance. The Onsen is not inside the Hotel; you use it by taking the Shuttle Service to their affiliated property, Toba International Hotel Shiojitei. For my elderly parents, this seemed to be a bit of a burden. Also, the dinner venue cannot be used in loungewear; you need to change into appropriate attire before going. Overall, the Hotel gave an impression of valuing formality. We had imagined a more relaxed stay like at an Onsen Ryokan where you can spend time comfortably in loungewear, so this was somewhat different from what we expected. The service and hospitality were excellent, so I would recommend it to those looking for a luxury Hotel experience. On the other hand, if you are traveling with elderly guests or expecting a casual stay like an Onsen Ryokan, I suggest confirming these details in advance.
