    It was excellent.

    You can enjoy the private Onsen as much as you like for free when it's available, which was the best service for me. At the open-air bath, I gazed at the starry sky at night and soaked in the morning sunlight while feeling surrounded by greenery. I enjoyed bathing in various locations, including the large public bath, Room bath, and footbath. I was also treated to thoughtful services such as laundry for my dirty socks, Room after-bath refreshments delivered to my room, and morning coffee—so much hospitality that it felt almost too generous. Despite being an open-air bath, there wasn’t a single piece of debris floating; it’s clear how meticulously they maintain it. The in-room dining featured beautiful tableware and exquisite flavors—an incredibly luxurious experience that left me completely satisfied.

    The cuisine is excellent.

    We visited as a family. The food was surprisingly delicious. The flavor and aroma of the broth were rich and impressive, making it an unforgettable experience. We would love to visit again!

    Satisfaction

    The natural hot spring water left my skin incredibly smooth. Surprisingly, it was easy to reserve a private bath. The room was impeccably clean in every corner. The staff's thoughtfulness made the stay very comfortable. It was an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    Among the many accommodations available, I chose to stay here due to its excellent reviews and high number of repeat guests. As mentioned, the building is a bit old, but it was well-cleaned and provided a comfortable stay. The in-room dining was delightful, with cold dishes served cold and warm dishes served warm, all deliciously prepared. The timing of service was also perfect. Additionally, plenty of bath towels and amenities were provided not only in the room but also in the public bath and private baths, so there’s no need to bring your own. However, for facial products like lotion, I would have preferred individually packaged items instead of shared bottles in the room (though bringing my own next time would solve this). Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. This is an accommodation I’d love to visit again during another season. As a side note, there was a faint fragrance in the room that I really enjoyed. I ended up purchasing the aroma vessel and oil as souvenirs—it’s an original oil by Fukiya called "Spring Scent" this time around. Since it changes with each season, I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate our son's and daughter's graduation and advancement, as well as our 25th wedding anniversary. Although we did not mention this during the reservation, the staff noticed through conversation, and the manager kindly took a family photo for us. The proprietress even wrote handwritten messages on cards for each of us as a gift. The atmosphere of the accommodation was warm, the meals were delightful with seasonal ingredients and flavorful broth, both in appearance and taste. The onsen facilities, from the large public bath to the rooftop garden, were all incredibly relaxing. Amenities were abundant—there were samue outfits, yukata robes, pajamas, and fluffy towels. Our family arrived at this accommodation after a busy period in our lives but found two days of healing and peace here that truly allowed us to relax. At departure time, we were deeply touched by how the manager, proprietress, and staff waved goodbye until our car was out of sight despite standing in cold weather. We came with high expectations but left feeling even more fulfilled with happiness. Our entire family is grateful for such an experience filled with thoughtful gestures throughout every corner of this wonderful accommodation.

    Futons on tatami mat...

    Futons on tatami mats can be challenging for elderly guests to get up from. We prefer a mattress or bed. The dining experience with tables and chairs was excellent.

    Truly a magnificent retreat!

    A relaxing "hidden retreat" with excellent natural hot spring baths. The delicious seafood dishes and abundant amenities were outstanding. Additionally, the well-maintained and elegant interior design, along with the kind and attentive staff service, were impressive. A perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate at your own pace.

    Outdated local Ryokan with low service standards

    We stayed for two nights in the suite with our children during the February holiday. Although we chose this accommodation based on its high reviews, it completely failed to meet expectations. It was a deeply disappointing experience, and I hesitated to write this review. However, I decided to share the facts for those considering staying here. This Ryokan is not recommended at all for guests who typically prefer premium rooms and expect high-level service. The worst experience occurred during dinner service on the first night. The assigned staff forgot the dishware for appetizers, disrupting the order of courses. Later, they again forgot the dishware when serving another plate and had to reheat the appetizer as a result. Additionally, there was a delay due to an empty gas canister for hot pot cooking. To make matters worse, they completely forgot to serve rice, soup, and pickles before attempting to bring out dessert instead. Frustrated and having lost my appetite by then, I asked them just to bring dessert alone; however, they left only dessert without even offering tea. While both the manager and replacement staff came later with apologies—which I appreciated—by that point my vacation mood was entirely ruined. Such mistakes are irreparable once made. This level of service failure is unimaginable at any reputable Ryokan or Hotel; it left me extremely dissatisfied. Other issues included: ===== - The rooftop private open-air bath's shower was unusable; additionally, a torn bath pillow caused beads inside it to spill into the water surface. - Despite valet parking being offered as part of their services: guests were required first themselves maneuvering through steep inclines risking scraping car bottoms before reaching entrances properly accessible areas! - Guests returning keys after using reserved private baths must deliver them directly back front desk personally rather than convenient alternatives provided elsewhere onsite premises nearby locations instead! -No air purifier available within highest-tiered room options offered accommodations overall quality standards lacking significantly compared competitors industry peers alike globally recognized brands chains establishments worldwide today modern era hospitality tourism sectors alike universally accepted norms practices expectations fulfilled consistently across board experiences delivered customers clientele base served daily basis operations running smoothly efficiently effectively always guaranteed satisfaction ensured utmost priority maintained forefront mission vision     Despite it being a cold day, I was pleased that the Room and changing area were properly heated even though I checked in on time. Including this point, there were various thoughtful touches such as the vanity, toilet, and smartphone charging, which gave the impression of a well-established Property, allowing me to relax fully. The view from the sitting area was wonderful. The bath was enjoyable with various options, such as the rooftop and third-floor private open-air baths. The meals were also delicious. What I found slightly concerning was the smell of tobacco in the hallways and elevator. Recently, many Properties are non-smoking, so I haven't had many opportunities to encounter the smell of tobacco, which felt a bit out of place.

    It was very good. The service was amazing. I felt that all the staff treated us with a spirit of hospitality. The food, Room, and bath were all meticulously attended to.     Always relaxing and completely satisfying.

    I love Fukiya-san, and this was my sixth stay. Above all, it's relaxing, and the onsen water is excellent, making your skin smooth. After getting out of the bath, they bring you complimentary black beans and beer. The onsen pack and the attention to detail in the room are wonderful. I also like the rare Nordic Fanuel chair. The dinner was Kyoto kaiseki and was very delicious. Since it was October, we enjoyed seasonal ingredients like matsutake mushroom dobinmushi and rice. The appetizers and hassun included foie gras and caviar canapés, grilled nodoguro, and black wagyu beef shabu-shabu, which were all delicious, and I ate a lot. The friendly conversation with the attendant was enjoyable, and the proprietress was kind and attentive, giving us a handwritten colored paper in kana calligraphy and letting us make a ballpoint pen with sparkling beads, which was fun. Every time I visit, I leave satisfied and with a smile. My mother was also very pleased and in a good mood. Thank you always. I will visit again.

    A wonderful Japanese-style Ryokan!

    I visited "Yugawara Onsen Fukiya" for the first time in over 20 years! It is a "memorable Stays" where my family has stayed many times! I was even more impressed with the Property, which has become new, evolved, and more convenient. We chose a course to enjoy "seafood" for the meal. It was very delicious! The service and hospitality are top-notch! Thank you very much! Also, the proud Onsen is truly the best in the world! You can immediately tell that "Yugawara no Yu" is gentle and good for health! Moreover, the furniture on the veranda of the room we stayed in was Scandinavian! The leather chairs were extremely comfortable, and I took a nap several times! I was able to enjoy a "wonderful space and time," forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city. I would like to visit again as our "memorable Stays"! Thank you very much.

    Traditional Ryokan

    I decided to try a Multiple Night Stay because of the high Review ratings. I thoroughly enjoyed the baths, including the reservation-based open-air bath and the rock bath. However, I felt that the cleaning was not thorough, as there were many bold spider webs on the garden trees visible from the large public bath and in the private open-air bath. The meals were plentiful but too bland, giving the impression that they were more suited for the elderly. Especially on the second day, I felt that the dinner and breakfast did not match the accommodation cost. It seems rare in this price range to have nothing free in the refrigerator. There was a service before dinner, but it was not particularly attractive, so I did not use it. The service morning coffee and after-meal coffee were also not tasty. Regarding the staff, when passing by in the corridor, my greeting was quicker, and when they greeted me with "Hello~," I was left puzzled. During checkout, I was almost charged for the amount I had already paid by card, which left a bad aftertaste for the stay. I thought it was impressive that the landlady? immediately followed up, but I was completely misled by the Review ratings.
