    It was great!

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of 2 days. The facility was quiet and impeccably clean, providing a truly pleasant atmosphere. The bath was also excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented on lovely plates, and every meal was carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. Encountering squirrels made the 2 days even more wonderful. I would love to stay here again!

A trip for four: mother, aunt, and a couple

We stayed for one night during a trip with my spouse, my mother, and my aunt. We stayed in "Sugi," while my mother and aunt stayed in "Nazuna." In conclusion, we are definitely planning to return. The service was excellent, truly giving the feel of a luxury accommodation. The facility was also very clean. I have a strong fear of centipedes, but I felt completely at ease as there was no sign of anything like that appearing. The meals were delicious, and even my mother and aunt, who are quite particular about taste, were very pleased. The staff kindly answered all the questions from my talkative mother and aunt by saying it was an opportunity for them to learn as well; they researched thoroughly and responded promptly. My wife is already thinking about which room to stay in next time! Since Miyagi is a place with personal connections for us, we plan to visit again in the future. Thank you for providing such comfortable service! We look forward to staying with you again!

Thank you for your warm hospitality.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and were surrounded by nature, feeling the beauty of the seasons. The all-inclusive service allowed us to relax completely. The open-air bath healed our bodies, while the stunning natural views soothed our eyes. In the shared space for guests, we found a free notebook and enjoyed reading through it. Above all, the meals were absolutely exceptional! Every dish was so delicious that I was moved to tears when eating the meat (perhaps because I love meat so much—it was incredibly tasty). Seeing my husband thoroughly satisfied made this trip an unforgettable memory of a lifetime. One highlight was during dinner when my husband enjoyed various types of drinks thanks to the thoughtful care of your staff—I am truly grateful for their kindness. Thanks to your warm hospitality, we left with smiles on our faces!

Enjoy with a Multiple Night Stay

The open-air Onsen with natural hot spring water was a perfect way to relax amidst nature. Both the large public bath and private baths offered an irresistible charm for Onsen enthusiasts. The chirping of birds added a soothing touch to the experience. The staff provided attentive service, including detailed explanations about the meals. The focus on fresh ingredients, such as vegetables, was evident, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. There was also a great selection of drinks to accompany meals and post-bath refreshments, making our Multiple Night Stay an excellent choice. We look forward to visiting again!

    The private bath was...

The private bath was excellent, but when I used the room's bath, I felt a sharp pain and thought it might be a splinter. After returning home and removing it, I found it was a piece of glass! When I called the accommodation, they claimed they were not responsible as there was no evidence of their fault. I repeatedly told them that I got injured while trying to use the open-air bath, but there was no apology or even concern for my well-being. This turned out to be one of the worst trips ever! There has still been no apology. I travel frequently and have never been injured before, let alone at an accommodation where there is no apology for such incidents. It’s disappointing and shows a lack of basic decency. The facility stated that unless issues are reported during the stay, they will not take responsibility. This implies that even in cases like food poisoning after your stay, they would deny responsibility—unacceptable! They kept insisting there was no proof that my injury occurred at their facility and treated me as if I were lying about being hurt—it left me feeling very upset! Although I've visited a hospital for treatment, they refused to cover any medical expenses. Regarding this ryokan: some staff are capable while others are completely unprofessional! Even during meals, staff wandering around made it hard to enjoy dining peacefully. That said, the private bath was absolutely fantastic.

Perfect for those seeking a relaxing retreat in nature.

We visited an accommodation with an onsen in the room, limited to a small number of guests. The experience was absolutely satisfying! 【Stay Period】End of May. No mosquitoes, and the fresh greenery was delightful. While Tokyo had humid 30°C days, we brought long-sleeve innerwear and an ultra-light down jacket just in case. It got quite chilly at night, so bringing long sleeves was a good decision. 【Room】A standalone building with very high ceilings. Spacious and comfortable for a relaxing stay. Occasionally, large ants came into the room at night, but we let them out—part of staying in a mountain accommodation! 【Open-Air Bath】The temperature could be adjusted with water. There was also a wooden swing where you could relax while listening to the sound of the river—very soothing! 【Service】The mojito made with freshly picked mint was delicious! The pecan chocolate was so tasty that we had plenty of it. The ice cream and Scotch ale provided in the room were also excellent! 【Meals】The menu allowed us to fully enjoy early summer flavors from Miyagi Prefecture. The combination of mountain vegetables and seafood was particularly unique and delicious. We appreciated being able to try various types of alcohol in small amounts—a perfect service for our family who loves tasting but can't drink much quantity-wise! Desserts were unlimited as well—a dream come true for our sweet-tooth family members! Breakfast featured luxurious Japanese dishes that left us satisfied without feeling heavy; there seemed to be almost no wheat-based items, which suited our preference for avoiding wheat products regularly. 【Impression】It’s such a wonderful accommodation that I’d love to stay for two nights next time—and eventually experience all four seasons here!

    Accommodation in the Forest

Unlimited access to the private open-air bath when available, relaxing guest rooms, and dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients—everything was truly satisfying. While dinner was, of course, delicious, breakfast was the best I've ever had at any accommodation. At Kotori Terrace, we were lucky enough to watch squirrels enjoying their meal. My mother and I agreed that "this terrace is so comfortable we could stay here forever." Thank you for providing such a healing experience.

It was a lovely accommodation with a great atmosphere!!

The atmosphere was wonderful and very comfortable! We were able to enjoy all four private open-air baths without waiting. The meals were delicious, and there was a wide variety of drinks, which made us very satisfied. There were also delightful events like late-night snacks and welcome drinks! I feel so lucky to have discovered this accommodation. It’s such a lovely place that makes you want to visit again soon!

    From Tokyo, In Daikon-san

Finally made it here! After almost 2 years, we managed to visit during her birthday and the firefly season—perfect timing! Parked the car and headed to the front desk. The moment we stepped inside... wow! The space exceeded all expectations. After check-in, a staff member guided us to our Room, and even on the way there, I couldn’t help but feel excited. Such an amazing atmosphere—nature’s healing touch, birds chirping—and her smile was just so welcoming! Onward to our Room! The open-air bath was exceptional. We also completed all four private baths—my favorite being the one with hydrangeas as a backdrop. The property is vast; even with a map in hand, it felt like navigating a maze surrounded by nature—a memorable experience for sure! Dinner at night felt slightly late but worth every second of waiting. Starving by then, we enjoyed dishes made from carefully selected ingredients—all absolutely delicious! Even someone like me who isn’t much of a foodie wanted more. Though honestly... I leaned more toward enjoying their seasonal sake selection (4 types!) which I fully indulged in thanks to their all-you-can-drink option—no worries there! With a pleasant buzz from the drinks, we were guided by staff to see fireflies (you’d need guidance here). While only three were spotted due to light rain that evening (better weather means more sightings), seeing wild fireflies for the first time was moving nonetheless. Walking along paths lit by lanterns led us not only to fireflies but also beetles—it brought back childhood memories for sure. If you’re lucky during your walk or morning strolls around 6:30 AM-ish like us—you might encounter wildlife too! We saw wild squirrels feeding early morning and even spotted one while soaking in an open-air bath after 7 AM. Breakfast? A must-try—it’s crafted with such care! Time flew by so quickly; though we'd love Multiple Night Stays here again someday—it’s quite luxurious so back-to-work motivation is high now! She loved every moment too; next time we'll aim for autumn foliage season. Thank you for this wonderful trip experience!

Perfect for a visit during the fresh green season.

I had always wanted to visit, and this accommodation exceeded my expectations. It was the season of fresh greenery that I love, and surrounded by beautiful trees, it felt like being in a forest. I even got to see a squirrel! The bath in the room was so relaxing, but I couldn't try all four private baths—what a pity. I'll save that for next time. The meals were delicious, the hospitality was outstanding—everything was perfect. Thank you very much! I look forward to visiting again during the season of fresh greenery.

It was the ultimate relaxing experience.

I had a wonderful time unwinding in nature and forgetting about the clock. The meals were all delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the night snacks, coffee, and alcohol services. I felt very relaxed strolling around or cooling off in a hammock after a bath. The staff were all polite yet warm, leaving a great impression, especially with their natural greetings whenever we passed by inside the facility. I would love to visit again!

We stayed as a couple. Time flowed slowly in the forest, and everything from the bath, meals, to hospitality was absolutely satisfying. Having stayed at various accommodations before, this has become our No.1 accommodation. We would love to stay again.

    The private bath was excellent.

The service and private bath were excellent. However, the Room cleaning was not thorough; there was tissue trash in the Room, hair in the bathroom, and a brown stain on the toilet seat. Additionally, the air conditioner's louver was broken, causing constant noise, which was disappointing.

Impressed by the staff's operations and service. Dissatisfied with the quality of ingredients in the food.

Recently, the trend of "All-Inclusive" (streamlining in various ways) has increased for efficiency, but it does not suit accommodations of this grade. Perhaps influenced by inbound tourism or the post-COVID era, the pricing is unsatisfactory. Although ingredients are said to be "locally sourced," the "quantity and quality" feel subpar. For those who do not drink alcohol, it feels even more overpriced. The operational system that considers staff working conditions is excellent, and their demeanor and sense of aesthetics are commendable and even inspiring. While I can empathize with the idea of valuing precious ingredients, the ingredients themselves do not match the price point. I also felt a contradiction in how much of the all-inclusive service cost is factored into pricing.

    Perfect, but...

How many times have I stayed here now? Every time, I've had a comfortable and pleasant experience. This time, I stayed in the newly renovated "Nanohana" room and liked it even more. Just a small anecdote: The miso soup at dinner was so delicious that I asked for a second serving. When they asked, "Would you like just the broth without any ingredients?" I replied enthusiastically, "Of course!" However, the second serving never came. It seems they thought I wouldn't want it if it was just broth without ingredients—Japanese nuances can be tricky! It would have been perfect if they had quietly served me another bowl of miso soup with some mitsuba floating on top while saying, "We're glad you enjoyed it." Just a whimsical thought from a picky guest!

Accommodation to Visit in Different Seasons

Enjoy a relaxing stay in the heart of nature with only a few guest rooms. The chirping of birds, the sound of the wind, and the sight of birds and squirrels visiting the lounge were truly soothing. The all-inclusive amenities, such as post-bath ice cream and coffee milk, were delightful. Additionally, I was deeply moved by the attentiveness of the staff. During dinner, when I was struggling with hay fever, a male staff member thoughtfully brought tissues promptly, allowing me to focus on my meal comfortably. The open-air private bath offered breathtaking views that made me want to experience its seasonal beauty again.

    Relax your mind.

The snow-viewing Onsen was amazing. An extraordinary experience, soaking in an open-air bath while listening to the sound of the river amidst falling powder snow. In the cottage, you can enjoy a tranquil time watching squirrels and small birds. It truly rejuvenated my spirit. The staff's responsiveness was excellent! Despite having many international guests, I felt that they maintained cleanliness diligently. The meals were delicious, and I got to try a variety of drinks, allowing me to fully enjoy the all-inclusive benefits. It's a place I want to visit again after working hard.

It was the best Stays surrounded by magnificent nature and the finest hospitality.

The 18-room detached property nestled at the foot of the Zao mountain range, amidst ten thousand tsubo of vast nature, was a healing Stays where you can become one with the rich nature... The gentle space constructed with Kinsan cedar soothes the mind and body tired from the hustle and bustle of the city. The onsen with its own source flowing freely can be enjoyed in the room-attached open-air bath, the large public bath, and four private open-air baths, each with a different ambiance. You can enter as many times as you like when they are available for free, so I also enjoyed a tour of the baths at dusk, midnight, and early morning. The open-air baths, blending into the riverside and natural forest, were truly delightful!! The "healing, satoyama cuisine" that allows you to savor the seasons in nature was centered around vegetables from the home garden and locally sourced, but it was a very satisfying meal using the best ingredients from the mountains and sea, such as roasted Zao mountain Sendai beef fillet, Ise lobster, and abalone. All-inclusive: Soft drinks, as well as wine, local sake, shochu, sours, and local beers, are free both during meals and in the room. After a bath, draft beer and Godiva ice cream are also all-you-can-eat. When I went to the main building for breakfast, I felt the highest hospitality from the staff who called me by my name with a smile before I introduced myself. Among many guests, I feel the hospitality of this Stays in valuing each individual. The Japanese breakfast, starting with a freshly made morning drink, fresh salad, and rich-flavored potato soup, was a carefully prepared dish, and with the synergistic effect of the delicious air of the natural forest, it became the best breakfast. It's such a truly delicious space that time flies by in just one night, and it's definitely a property where you'd want to have a Multiple Night Stay.

Thank you for your hospitality this year. On the morning of the check-in day, my plan to travel with my mother suddenly changed, and I was anxious and considered canceling. However, the staff member who answered my call in the morning knew all about my situation just by mentioning my name, and they encouraged me, which made me feel positive. As a result, I was able to enjoy myself very much even alone. Thank you very much. The food, Onsen, Room, and other Hotel Facilities were, of course, all as wonderful as ever. This year, I was also able to meet squirrels at the small bird salon. Each staff member I interacted with was kind and considerate. I'm really glad I didn't cancel. I will visit again next year.

I think everything except the meals is good.

One of the best ryokans of my life!

I don't know how long I've been waiting, but I was finally able to visit. The facility, surrounded by nature with autumn leaves gradually changing color, and the four open-air hot springs with natural flowing water were truly breathtaking. There wasn't a particular bath that stood out because they were all wonderful. The meals, which made full use of local ingredients, were also very delicious... The potato stew I had as a light meal was exquisite, and even though it was before dinner, I ended up eating a lot! Haha There are so many good things that I can't list them all. This is an inn that everyone should experience at least once. Thank you very much!

Become a resident of the forest.

In addition to the 24-hour lounge where you can enjoy drinks and gelato and the free-flowing bath, there are four private baths you can use if available, plus a spot for hot-stone sauna therapy, so I was able to relax. The all-inclusive meals (even the tableware was enjoyable) were wonderful, and there was a wide variety of drinks such as alcohol; they also adjusted the portions, and everything was delicious. The breakfast salads and drinks were especially excellent. Since everyone seems to want to try all the private baths, they open up quickly, so I could enjoy them without any stress. It felt like living in the forest during our one-night, two-day stay—an experience you can’t get at other Accommodation. I thought it might be more convenient not to bring a suitcase when going to the Room, though it may depend on where your Room is located. Of course, they help you at check-in.
