    Onsen Bathing Hours Information

    The staff were very kind, the room was spacious, and the Onsen was wonderful. However, we were informed on the day about the bathing times for school trip students during both nights of our stay, which might cause crowding. While I understand this cannot be helped, I wish we had been informed in advance so we could have adjusted our schedule.

    If the meal options were a bit more extensive...

    Dinner was a set menu, but I believe a buffet style is especially convenient for families with children. However, the breakfast buffet we were looking forward to had very few seafood options (only squid, cod roe, small salmon roe, and salmon), which was a bit disappointing considering it’s Hakodate. Our family doesn’t usually revisit the same accommodation (as we always seek new experiences), but I hope this feedback will be helpful for other guests and contribute to the improvement of your accommodation in the future.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    Stayed for one night on August 26. This was my second stay since last autumn. With breakfast included, the price was under 10,000 yen, and I was very satisfied. The breakfast, Onsen, and the Room—which was spacious enough for one person—were all excellent, deserving a perfect score in every aspect. Although it's more convenient to stay near Hakodate Station for business trips, the city tram stop is close by, and the Hanabishi Hotel stop is right in front of the hotel. I will continue to use this Accommodation for future business trips to Hakodate. Thank you!

    First Trip to Hakodate

    I stayed at Suehirotei, and it was incredibly spacious! It felt too large for just two people, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights of Suehirotei is the private open-air bath attached to the room, which can be used 24/7—such a great feature. During my 2-night, 3-day stay, I visited the two public baths twice each and also enjoyed the private open-air bath in my room twice. Being able to use the private bath at 3 AM made it feel extra special!

    A tranquil Onsen accommodation!

    We stayed as a family of four. The building is old but well-maintained and clean, giving it the calm atmosphere of a traditional Onsen accommodation. The Onsen was very clean and enjoyable, though I found all the baths too hot for my preference. It was disappointing that the yukata provided in the room was too small and did not fit me.

    We stayed as a couple. The staff were kind, and the onsen was relaxing. Considering the price, we were satisfied with both the meals and the facility. My husband was also surprised by the great value for money. We've stayed at various onsens and hotels in Hakodate, but this place feels like home.

    Recommended accommodation.

    We were delighted to receive a thoughtful thank-you postcard from the manager, which brought great joy to both my wife and me. Thank you very much. About 27 years ago, our family stayed at this accommodation, and for this trip as a couple to Hokkaido, we decided that if we were staying in Hakodate, it had to be here. The exterior and interior have been luxuriously renovated, so I couldn't quite recall the memories from 27 years ago. However, I did recognize the lantern with the inn's name at the entrance as having the same design as back then, which felt nostalgic. The cuisine, room, and staff service were all excellent; it is truly an accommodation that satisfies on every level. I hope this place continues to be a space where Japanese people can relax in a way that feels uniquely Japanese.

    The day I stayed, there were also school trip students staying, and although I was informed about this at check-in, the loud noises continued even until late hours when it was expected to be quiet for sleeping, which was unpleasant. Even after contacting the front desk, there was no response, and despite addressing the issue directly, the response was insincere. It may be an established accommodation, but unfortunately, it left a disappointing impression.

    Enjoyed Hakodate to the fullest.

    The food is absolutely delicious, including the breakfast buffet. The hot springs are abundant and open for long hours. The front desk service is sophisticated. There’s nothing to complain about! (laughs) I’d love to visit again.

    It was great.

    The staff were all kind and helpful. As it is an established inn, the building's age and traditional complexity are noticeable, but since we stayed in a wing close to the front desk, it was not inconvenient. The bath on the first floor was great; however, the one on the upper floors felt like just a regular bath without an open-air option, which seemed like a missed opportunity. The quality of the hot spring water and its abundance were truly impressive. Dinner was thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. It would have been even better if there had been warmer dishes since it was a slightly chilly day. For breakfast buffet, going early might be better to avoid crowds. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. Thank you very much!

    Hakodate Trip is Amazing!

    I chose this hotel among those with Japanese-Western style rooms. I stayed for 2 nights (1 night with meals), and the meals, bath, and room all exceeded my expectations. The cost-performance was excellent, and it was easy to reach tourist spots by tram. Additionally, it was only a few minutes by bus from the airport to the front of the hotel, making it very convenient. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hakodate.

    More affordable and comfortable than a Business Hotel!

    This time, I stayed alone and only had breakfast as I dined out for dinner. I was thrilled to have access to an Onsen and buffet breakfast at the cost of a Business Hotel. On top of that, my room was upgraded! It felt too luxurious for just one person, so I plan to visit again with my family.

    A Hotel with Impressive Service and Thoughtful Care.

    We stayed at this hotel as my wife wanted to visit Hakodate, and we were truly impressed by the staff's exceptional hospitality. It was a wonderful experience. The room was beautifully renovated and very clean, with the latest toilet facilities that left us amazed. We highly recommend staying here to experience it yourself. The dinner room had a traditional Japanese style with a sunken kotatsu seating arrangement, providing a comfortable and spacious atmosphere where we could enjoy our meal quietly and peacefully. Breakfast was served buffet-style, and we were once again impressed by the rice-serving machine. This is definitely an accommodation I would recommend to others!

    Overall, it was an excellent Hotel that provided great satisfaction.

    We stayed here for a trip to celebrate our daughter's graduation from kindergarten and entrance into school. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted as the door was opened for us. A female staff member at the Hotel kindly prepared a yukata for our daughter (child). The Facility has a traditional atmosphere, allowing us to relax comfortably, though those who are particular might find the water facilities slightly concerning. The breakfast buffet was very popular and lively starting from 7:00 AM. Access is convenient with a bus stop right in front of the Hotel and a streetcar station about 2 minutes away on foot. We would love to stay here again if we have another opportunity! Thank you!

    No Meals Included Plan

    I stayed with the No Meals Included Plan here after a sudden change in my travel route. Initially, I planned to return by Shinkansen from my solo trip to Akita and Aomori, but I was intrigued by how close Aomori is to Hakodate. This accommodation was more affordable than the business hotel I stayed at in Hirosaki the previous night, and I thoroughly enjoyed the onsen. For dinner, I went to a sushi restaurant right near the hotel. I've stayed in Yunokawa Onsen several times before, and its proximity to the airport is always appealing—extending my stay on a whim turned out to be a great decision. The next day, I used ANA miles for my flight back to Tokyo, making this detour an incredibly satisfying journey overall!

    Business Trip

    I have used this accommodation several times during business trips! The Business Plan is reasonably priced. Since I usually sleep on a bed, the only concern is sleeping on a futon in a Japanese-style room, but everything else is excellent! I will use it again if this Plan is available.

    A visit after several years

    I visited for the first time in about 10 years. The Hotel has been renovated and is now larger and more beautiful, and the staff provided polite and efficient service. However, during meals, I felt rushed as the staff came to clear the table immediately after finishing. I remember enjoying a more relaxed and delicious dining experience during my previous visit, which was a bit disappointing this time.

    Baby-Friendly Accommodation

    This was our first trip with our baby. We were deeply moved by the hospitality of the gentleman who guided us to our room, and he even came outside to see us off at the end, making our stay truly pleasant. Other staff members were also very kind, promptly bringing a baby crib to our room and lending us a baby bath for use in the room since babies cannot enter the Onsen. Their thoughtful care allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay with peace of mind. The Facility, though showing some age, was clean and well-maintained. The outdoor cold water bath was a first for me and felt amazing, while the sauna temperature was just right. The spacious baths made me want to take multiple dips during my stay. The meals were delightful—scallop rice, beef stew, salmon roe at breakfast, miso soup—all so delicious that we ended up overeating! Both my spouse and I agreed that when we visit Hakodate again, we will definitely stay here! It became such a wonderful memory for us. Thank you very much!

    The dinner was more impressive than the breakfast buffet.

    Stayed for a multiple night stay of 2 nights. The breakfast buffet is slightly rated lower compared to other famous breakfast buffets in Hakodate hotels (fewer varieties than top-class ones, but the quality of salmon roe is top-notch). For dinner, I had completely different meals on the first and second days, and the kaiseki meal on the second day was so delicious that it overshadowed the breakfast buffet. The building overall feels a bit dated, but the room I stayed in had been renovated inside and was a good room (the room key is not a card but an actual key). There are two Onsen locations: one on the upper floor with one traditional large bath and another on the first floor with two large baths, an open-air bath, a sauna, and a cold bath. While some parts of the first-floor large baths feel slightly aged as well, both the open-air bath and sauna have been renovated into excellent facilities.

    I miss the old days.

    I used this place multiple times about 20 years ago. Compared to back then, I was disappointed with the lack of hospitality from the female front desk staff. The breakfast was good.
