    We stayed here as a ...

    We stayed here as a family this time. It felt more like a Business Hotel rather than a Hotel. It might just be our perspective, but it seemed less suitable for a family stay.

    It was comfortable.

    During my visit to Hamamatsu to return to my family home, I stayed with a No Meals Included plan this time. I enjoyed staying in a room with a view of Hamamatsu Castle, which allowed me to enjoy the scenery at an affordable price. There was an amenity bar at the reception area, which wasn’t available before, and I made use of various items. Personally, I liked the coffee and bath salts. The unmanned shop has also increased in convenience as I could get drinks without having to go to a convenience store. Unfortunately, all the pillows at the pillow bar were already taken, so I'll look forward to trying it next time. Although it may be difficult, I feel that having a large public bath would make it even better.

    Best Value/Service Hotel

    A room with a view of Hamamatsu Castle, including a plan with unaju dinner and breakfast. The result was excellent. From the warm welcome to the front desk and dining area, everything was great. The customer service is outstanding. Dinner's unaju (grilled eel over rice) includes one whole eel in the standard portion. Perfectly grilled (crispy outside, fluffy inside), delicious flavor, no odor, and thick eel slices. Additionally, Hamamatsu's sansho pepper is incredibly tasty. The best time to view Hamamatsu Castle from the room is around 8 PM when the city hall lights turn off, making the castle beautifully visible. I enjoyed it while sipping on a highball drink. The bed was also very comfortable for sleeping. Breakfast was buffet-style with many options, all of which were delicious. Parking at the hotel's lot was free of charge as well! It's rare to find such a cost-effective hotel with excellent service. ● Highlights: - Free parking - Excellent customer service - Complimentary water bottles for each guest - Amenities provided ● Suggestions for improvement: - It would be nice if makeup remover, cleansing products, toner, and lotion were available. - Softer toothbrushes with finer tips would be better. - Pajamas that are separate top-and-bottom sets instead of yukata would be more comfortable (including sizes for toddlers to kids). - Having items like children's retort curry in the shop would be convenient!

    The breakfast buffet was excellent.

    I stayed for one night with my elementary school daughter. Although our Room was not on the Hamamatsu Castle side, we had a great view from the window and were moved by the sight of Mount Fuji (?) in the morning glow. The breakfast buffet was very delicious, and we were especially satisfied with the seaweed omelet prepared right in front of us by the chef! We used a taxi to get to Yufukei Shiori as it was a bit far to walk with a child, but overall, it was a relaxing stay.

    Accommodation after 40 years

    A nostalgic hotel where I stayed with friends when I was single. When I had to stay in Hamamatsu for work and found "Concorde Hamamatsu," I immediately made a reservation without consulting anyone (laughs). Considering the 40 years that have passed, I expected some renovations but also prepared myself for possible inconveniences due to age. However, all my concerns were completely overturned. The warm welcome at the entrance, the friendly smiles at the front desk, the cleanliness of the room, a spotless bathroom with sufficient shower pressure and water flow, and a large comfortable bed—all exceeded expectations. At breakfast, we received an illustrated "Breakfast Map" created by staff upon check-in, which made me look forward to it from the day before. The actual breakfast experience was delightful and delicious. At the unmanned souvenir shop, there were unique items available only here (as I later found out), so it's worth checking out! A Starbucks is located just a few minutes' walk from Hamamatsu Castle's entrance—perfect for enjoying its nighttime ambiance filled with studying students. If you have time in the morning, taking a stroll around would be nice too. Free parking was also greatly appreciated. What moved me most was how thoughtful the staff were. It happened to be our 36th wedding anniversary on our stay date; although I'd consulted about dining options beforehand due to work fatigue during check-in—I’d forgotten entirely—but they upgraded us into higher-floor rooms overlooking power-spot-worthy illuminated views of historic *Hamamatsujō*. Alongside heartfelt message cards left behind! Such warmth & sophistication left unforgettable memories shared between three generations gazing together under castle lights likely inspiring future family returns someday reflecting past-present connections alike! Comfortable yet affordable accommodations showcasing genuine hospitality throughout every corner—highly satisfied overall experience indeed!! Thank You So Much!!

    Hamamatsu Castle right in front of you

    We stayed in a corner room on the 8th floor with a view of the beautifully lit Hamamatsu Castle. The hotel is a large 18-story building, and while the facilities are old, there were no issues. We booked a triple room, but it was originally a twin room with an extra bed added, making it quite compact. However, it was sufficient for just sleeping. We chose this hotel based on photos of their breakfast. The made-to-order omelets offered three options (plain, cheese, seaweed), and I chose cheese—it was delicious! There were also plenty of other options available. With check-out at 11:00 AM, we had time to take a walk to Hamamatsu Castle after breakfast and enjoy tea at a stylish Starbucks nearby. I would love to stay here again when visiting Hamamatsu!

    Regular Accommodation for Large Families

    Every year during Obon and New Year's, our large family of four families (8 adults and 7 children: one 7-year-old, two 5-year-olds, three 3-year-olds, and one 1-year-old) travels to various places. As with last year, we were well taken care of again this year. Traveling as a group of 15 can sometimes make us worry about inconveniencing others, but the staff at Concorde Hotel kindly accommodated all our requests. The taste of the eel dishes at Motokajotei on the 18th floor and the buffet at the restaurant were exceptional. Combined with the excellent service from the staff, this is truly a wonderful Hotel.

    About breakfast: Featuring handmade menus that promote local ingredients and recommended dishes, it was easy to understand even for first-time visitors and tasted excellent. Highly recommended. Located next to Hamamatsu Castle, the Hotel is easy to find and exudes a sense of elegance.

    The eel dishes were delicious.

    The view from the room was on the opposite side of the castle, but being on a high floor, it offered a great view of the city. Most importantly, although we had reserved a two-meal-included plan, they kindly accommodated changes to the standard plan menu. The dish featuring "Deshiko" eel was incredibly delicious. As for the room, despite being a non-smoking room, there was an ingrained smell that filled the space and bothered us from the moment we entered. We had to run the air purifier at full capacity. There were also issues such as bath drainage spilling into the toilet area, leaving us dissatisfied with certain aspects of the room itself. However, staff at both reception and breakfast were kind and made our stay pleasant overall. It would have been helpful if information about related facilities like Kanzanji Ropeway had been provided during check-in.

    Great value for money!

    The breakfast buffet was incredibly delicious during my previous stay, so this time I decided to stay after enjoying the lunch buffet. The satisfaction level of the buffet is exceptionally high. Great value for money! The building has a historical feel, but it is impeccably clean with no discomfort at all. The staff, who are all Japanese (which is rare these days), provide warm and relaxing service with plenty of smiles. Once again, great value for money! I will definitely come back for the buffet!

    Hotel with a Room Overlooking Hamamatsu Castle

    The hotel is a bit far from Hamamatsu Station and the downtown area, so you may need to take a bus from the station, and dining options nearby are limited. However, it offers free parking with in-and-out privileges, making it an excellent choice for those traveling by car. Rooms offer views of the castle and have a chic and calming atmosphere. On the 5th floor, there is a comic room where you can enjoy reading manga. On the first floor, various bath salts are available for guests to choose their favorite scent to use in their bath. Please note that there is no large public bath available. As an older hotel, room keys are not card-type but traditional keys with only one provided per room. Additionally, temperature control cannot be adjusted individually due to central air conditioning throughout the building. Breakfast was excellent! The omelets had rich egg flavor and were incredibly delicious. The Mikkabi mandarin orange smoothie was also very tasty! Guests can enjoy local dishes such as oden during breakfast as well.

    Best value for money

    We stayed in a Room for four people. Located right in front of the castle parking lot, it had an elegance not found in a typical Business Hotel. The Room was not luxurious but had a clean and comfortable atmosphere. It would have been perfect if there was a large public bath.

    The Room itself feels a bit dated, but it is quite spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable! The staff at the front desk were kind and provided pleasant service. The breakfast buffet was relaxing to enjoy, and everything tasted delicious! There were many ingredients from Hamamatsu, allowing us to enjoy both Japanese and Western dishes to our satisfaction. I would love to stay here again when visiting Hamamatsu!

    The breakfast buffet was very satisfying. In addition to local specialties, there was a wide variety of dishes, and the flavors were not too strong, making them delicious for the morning. I ended up eating a bit too much. The staff at the Hotel's front desk and restaurant were very accommodating, and the views of Hamamatsu Castle and the surrounding area were beautiful. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    The castle view was wonderful.

    Considering the busy season of the Hamamatsu Festival, the cost-performance was excellent. At night, a 100 million yen float (referred to as "yatai" in Hamamatsu) came near the Hotel, and being able to see it up close was truly impressive. Thank you very much!

    Spacious parking available.

    I stayed overnight for work. Although it is a bit far from Hamamatsu Station, the parking lot is spacious with plenty of spaces, so even with many guests, finding a spot shouldn't be an issue. Moreover, it was free of charge, which was very appreciated. At night, I walked quite a distance to go out for drinks, but the weather was pleasant and made the walk enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious; it felt like a proper hotel breakfast rather than that of a business hotel. When I entered the dining area around 6:30 AM, there were many Chinese guests present; however, they were well-mannered and not noisy at all. The facility itself isn't new but is well-maintained and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Hamamatsu!

    Great value for money.

    I stayed for one night again this year as I had business in Hamamatsu. It was the cherry blossom season, and the cherry blossoms and nighttime illumination at Hamamatsu Castle Park were stunning. While the building itself shows its age, the room was clean and well-maintained, with amenities that were satisfactory for the price. Near the front desk, there were several types of bath additives available, and each guest received a complimentary bottle of water. The hotel staff provided professional service, making my stay pleasant. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options; I enjoyed unagi rice in the morning and appreciated having whipped cream and sweet red bean paste available at the bread corner. I would like to make a reservation here again when visiting Hamamatsu in the future.

    You can hear voices from the neighboring room.

    Based on reviews, I chose the Purple Room on the top floor to avoid hearing neighbors, but voices were still audible and quite noisy. I was looking forward to the eel at breakfast, but it was so small that it was hard to find in the dish. The flowers in the Purple Room are artificial, as expected. The view is great and very satisfying.

    The noise from the neighboring room is loud.

    This was my first stay. It seemed that the next room was occupied by a family with small children, and they were quite noisy. The noise was so clear that I couldn't relax from check-in until I went to sleep. While it's understandable that children can be noisy, the adults were also loud, and the walls must be thin because it was just so noisy. It felt like our windows were open to each other. The room arrangement was very disappointing this time. I don't think there's much that can be done about the noise, so I would appreciate it if families could be grouped in the same area and separated from others. If it's because of the cheap plan... then I guess it can't be helped. I received a paper with breakfast recommendations in advance, and I was very satisfied with the breakfast as I could fully enjoy the specialties of Hamamatsu. It's a shame that the room arrangement lowered the overall evaluation.
