    Shuttle Service Driver's Hospitality

    Thank you for the wonderful experience. What left a lasting impression during my stay at Koyo-kaku was the Shuttle Service driver. Their polite language and attentiveness made the trip very pleasant. In the bath area, cleaning was done continuously, and it was great to see young staff actively working, creating a bright atmosphere overall. However, it was unfortunate to witness some foreign guests displaying rude behavior and speaking loudly throughout the facility. I understand this poses a challenging issue for management. Thank you again for providing such an amazing Onsen experience, and I would like to extend my gratitude once more to the driver.

    As expected of Koyo Inn

    I had known about Koyo-kaku from commercials and always wanted to visit this accommodation. I chose a good room, which was a corner room on the top floor with an open-air bath, and I was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet could use a bit more variety. Overall, it was a great experience.

    It was a relaxing experience.

    I visited with my two sons, making it a group of three. All three of us were looking forward to this day to escape our daily fatigue. The moment we entered the Ryokan, we instantly loved it. The food was excellent as well. The timing for serving dishes like Dobin Mushi, Kobe Beef, and sashimi was perfect. The baths were great too, offering both Japanese-style and Thermae-style options. We noticed the lantern guide only the next morning; we wish we had seen it at night! The breakfast buffet was also delicious. I definitely want to visit again. It would be nice if cleansing amenities were provided in the room as well. All three of us felt reluctant to return to reality and wished we could relive last night as we left Arima Onsen behind us. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment! Thank you, Koyo-Kaku!

    Thank you for your hospitality. We stayed as a group of a young couple and an elderly couple. The buffet was very helpful as we had a child with picky eating habits. The temperature of the Onsen was just to my liking, allowing me to relax thoroughly. Each bath had unique features and beautiful views, making it an enjoyable experience. We look forward to staying again next time!

    Fantastic

    We visit Japan twice a year from Southern California for Onsen tours. Among the many Onsen we’ve visited, the dinner here was exceptionally delicious, and the matcha service was a delightful touch (as a matcha lover, it was perfect). The Onsen was very spacious (I loved the facial peeling product available in the Onsen and ended up purchasing two). The massage chair in the room and the masseuse who came to our room made our stay incredibly relaxing. We had a wonderful two-night stay, and my husband also mentioned that this is a Ryokan he would love to visit again when we come back to Japan next year.

    Ise and Birthday Trip

    After visiting Ise Jingu, we decided to stay at Arima Onsen, which we had always wanted to visit, and made a reservation. It turned out to be even better than the reviews we referred to. The staff provided very sincere service, and when we asked them to take a photo during dinner, they kindly obliged, which was much appreciated. For dinner, we had requested a Kobe beef teppanyaki course meal. The dishes were not only delicious but also featured seasonal ingredients like hamo and matsutake mushrooms. Every dish was exceptional. We were so full that it was a bit regretful not being able to enjoy much of the dessert buffet (laughs). Breakfast was also served as a buffet and tasted great as well. We made sure to enjoy the morning matcha service too. We thoroughly enjoyed all three onsen baths that we had been looking forward to trying out. The thoughtful amenities such as ReFa shower heads, various types of shampoos, and the relaxing post-bath lounge area were truly impressive. As for our room—there were just two of us (a couple), but it exceeded expectations in size with two TVs for added luxury. Although the building itself is somewhat complex due to extensions over time, thanks to detailed explanations during check-in and some preparation by watching YouTube beforehand, we didn’t get lost at all—it felt like an enjoyable exploration! Despite its historical nature, everything was well-maintained and spotlessly clean throughout the property. However, one thing worth noting is that the location involves more slopes than expected (though this is typical for Arima). This trip combined our visit to Ise Shrine with celebrating my birthday—a trip both of us had been eagerly anticipating—and it turned out wonderfully! Even after returning home now days later—we keep reminiscing about how fun it was & how delicious everything tasted! Thank you very much!

    Onsen is the best!

    The room was small for four people. However, the Onsen and meals were excellent. The Onsen had a variety of options, a great atmosphere, and provided a relaxing experience. The changing area was spacious with plenty of towels available, which was truly wonderful. Breakfast was the only meal included, but everything from the variety, taste, portion size, quality, venue to the staff's service exceeded expectations. The staff's attentiveness and warm smiles were particularly impressive. However, during checkout, the male trainee who assisted us lacked a smile and seemed unfriendly, which left us disappointed at the end. It would be great if further training could be provided in this regard.

    Delicious breakfast at Ajisai.

    Breakfast is served buffet-style at a place called Ajisai. Despite being a Sunday, it was not crowded, allowing for a quiet and relaxing meal in a private room. Everything was delicious. Thank you! The hospitality of the staff was warm, making the experience even more enjoyable.

    Memories

    I stayed here once back when it was featured in TV commercials. Since then, I was a bit worried as the reviews haven't been very positive in the Reiwa era. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were delicious. I especially enjoyed the chawanmushi served at both meals and the dessert at dinner. The onsen with golden water was relaxing, and the amenities were fully equipped without any issues. The guest room might be a bit old, but it was well-cleaned and comfortable. To the female staff member who carried my likely heavy bag upon arrival at the hotel—thank you for your hard work in such hot weather! It had been a while since I last enjoyed an onsen, and I had a relaxing time here. Thank you for your hospitality!

    It was a memorable and wonderful trip!

    We chose to enjoy a relaxing stay at the ryokan with in-room dining as we were traveling with a baby. The lovely lounge was also available, making it enjoyable even without sightseeing. The staff was kind and provided attentive service. The meals were served at the perfect timing and were absolutely delicious. There were also activities like a festival for small children, showing great consideration for families with kids. It was an accommodation we would love to visit again with another grandchild in the future.

    As a returning guest...

    A pot of water is delivered at night, but during this season, it would be preferable to have water available in the Room upon arrival. There was water in the paid refrigerator for about 340 yen. What do you think about this? After all, this is Japan. The sashimi selection was a bit disappointing, especially the tuna. It was suggested to eat it with seaweed, but without that, it lacked flavor. As a returning guest, I have mixed feelings. Please keep up the effort!

    Stay with Hyoe during Obon!

    I have stayed at Hyoe Koyokaku multiple times. Especially in summer, there are limited-time festival-style booths that children absolutely love. The rooms vary depending on the building you stay in, but I particularly like the room with a massage chair in the North Wing. The meals are carefully prepared and incredibly delicious. The hospitality is also outstanding. During my recent stay, although the weather was not favorable, the staff guided us to a spot with a great view from our room. Despite the heavy mist, their explanation made me appreciate the beauty of the haze over the mountains, which left a lasting impression on me. If you're looking for accommodation at Arima Onsen, this is definitely a Ryokan you should experience at least once!

    Highly satisfied.

    Arima Onsen was very pleasant, the room was clean, and I was very satisfied with the dinner. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and everyone had a great attitude. I felt a sense of distinction here. It has become one of the accommodations I want to visit again.

    Located on a hill, the accommodation may be difficult to access, but the service is excellent.

    I stayed with my pregnant wife. A shuttle service is available from the station, making it easy to reach the accommodation. After leaving our luggage at the accommodation and going out for lunch, we decided to walk back, but the steep slope leading to the accommodation was quite challenging for my wife. We took breaks and walked back slowly, but that slope might not be suitable for everyone. The accommodation itself was excellent. When I mentioned during the reservation that my wife was pregnant, they kindly adjusted her dinner menu by replacing alcohol and sashimi with other options. They also offered a maternity pillow (limited availability) that could double as a nursing cushion and provided advance guidance on bathing precautions—such thoughtful gestures were greatly appreciated. There are three types of onsen available at the accommodation, so even without visiting external baths, you can fully enjoy Arima's onsen experience during a 1-night stay. Additionally, the souvenir shop inside had an extensive selection of items, making our overall experience highly satisfying.

    The Onsen was great, but the meals were disappointing.

    The room, Onsen, and service were excellent, but the buffet meal was disappointing. Apart from the mini steak, there were no appealing ingredients, and even the standard sushi for buffets was missing. Perhaps other course meals are better. However, considering that there are hotels offering better meals at a similar price range, it was regrettable. The Onsen was fantastic. I enjoyed all nine baths across three bathing areas and was thrilled to experience the much-anticipated golden spring bath. The purpose of this trip was to enjoy the red-colored Onsen, and with the friendly staff's hospitality, I am fairly satisfied overall.

    Day-use Dinner Plan

    I originally wanted to stay at the accommodation, but since I have a pet, I booked a day-trip buffet dinner. I was torn between the buffet and the set with steamed dishes, but the buffet had a wide variety and was very delicious, so it was satisfying even without the steamed dishes. The onsen was very quiet and felt almost like a private experience, which made me happy. The service at the front desk was also excellent, so I would love to use this accommodation again.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    The staff were very friendly, and we had a pleasant stay. Although I didn’t have high expectations for the buffet, the food was delicious and served hot, which made it very satisfying. The baths were varied and extremely relaxing. Despite the short distance, they kindly offered to drive us back because it was raining—thank you so much! This time, one of my friends couldn’t join us, so only two of us went. Next time, we’d love to visit with all three of us!

    It was average.

    I stayed at Koyo-kaku Accommodation for the first time in about 10 years. I remembered it being a very good Ryokan back then, but this time was disappointing. Upon arrival, our luggage was taken from the car and we were guided to the lobby where tea was served. However, we were immediately directed to check-in at the counter without having a chance to enjoy the tea and then shown to our room. We stayed in the same type of room as 10 years ago. The room felt just okay, but there were no towels in the washroom—leaving us wondering what to use for drying our faces. Dinner was served in-room, but when we requested cold tea, we were told that it would cost extra money! Although surprised by this response, we ordered it anyway. Additionally, during dinner service, the staff seemed rushed and hurriedly finished serving us before leaving abruptly. Later on, we used a private Onsen bath with a 50-minute time limit; however, with just my daughter and me using it together along with drying hair and other tasks afterward—it felt like there wasn’t enough time. The next day after checking out, my daughter brought our car around to pick us up from in front of the Ryokan. While staff warmly greeted us upon arrival by unloading luggage with smiles on their faces—on departure day despite several staff members being present—they ignored us as my daughter loaded everything into our car herself. For an establishment claiming to be a traditional Ryokan—it fell short of expectations this visit—and I don’t think I’ll ever return again. Having stayed at various accommodations around Arima Onsen area before—I wouldn’t recommend Koyo-kaku Accommodation anymore based on this experience.

    Repeat visit

    During my previous visit to Arima Onsen, it was raining, so I decided to revisit as a sort of "revenge trip." I absolutely love the onsen and buffet here, so I chose this accommodation without hesitation. As with my last visit, the onsen was incredibly relaxing, and the meals were absolutely delicious. However, the room felt a bit dated, and I had trouble with the poorly fitted door of the washroom. Other than that, the staff's attentiveness and hospitality were heartwarming. I would love to stay here again when visiting Arima Onsen!

    Creating memories with my 91-year-old mother, my sister, and me. We have stayed in Arima Onsen many times, but the warm and thoughtful service at Koyo-kaku was truly exceptional. The onsen had a variety of baths, and the morning bath was incredibly refreshing. The dedicated lounge was well-equipped, bringing great joy to my mother. This time marked our return to Arima Onsen after a while, and my mother was thoroughly satisfied. We talked about how wonderful it would be to visit again next year as we headed home. Thank you very much for your hospitality at Koyo-kaku!

    As expected of Koyo Inn

    There were many rooms, and it was spacious and nice, but it felt wasteful since we didn't use them all. We arrived early, but the nearby parking lot was full, so we had to park in a slightly farther one. The buffet dishes were all delicious and enjoyable.

    My mother-in-law, who was supposed to join us, had to cancel three days prior due to an injury, but we greatly appreciated your kind response. Later, four of us including my elderly mother with back issues stayed at the accommodation. You arranged a table near the entrance and buffet at the restaurant and provided a room close to the elevator, which made my mother very happy. The staff who guided us to our room gave thorough explanations, and everyone from the front desk to those at the bath was incredibly kind—thank you so much. The food was delicious, and the onsen had wonderful water that helped relieve our fatigue.

    Premium and highly satisfying.

    Stayed at Hyoe Premium From check-in at 14:30 to check-out at 11:00, the time flew by while enjoying the facilities. After checking in, I relaxed in the Premium Lounge and then spent time until dinner enjoying the Kinsen open-air bath and Ginsen. The kaiseki meal included fresh sashimi and Kobe beef, which were delightful. There was also a dessert buffet, leaving me completely satisfied. The night view from the private open-air bath in the Room was stunning. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and had coffee in the lounge before checking out. You can also find a variety of Arima souvenirs at Hotel's gift shop!

    It was excellent!

    The accommodation was clean, the food was delicious, and the baths were very relaxing—everything was perfect! Towels were provided in the bathing area, and both the indoor and outdoor baths were spacious enough to avoid any inconvenience or crowding. Despite it being a busy Golden Week period, the staff's attentiveness made our stay very pleasant. I would love to stay here again.

    This is the place to stay for a Ryokan experience in Arima Onsen!

    Stayed at an accommodation in Arima Onsen for one night. The conditions I hoped for were: - Smoking allowed - Within budget (significantly cheaper than the average) - Motorcycle parking available All were met, and I was very satisfied. Upon arrival, several staff members were at the entrance to guide me to the motorcycle parking area. Even during futon preparation, ashtray replacement was provided, which was excellent service. The meals were all delicious, and they took care of everything from guidance to cleanup. The onsen was easy to find without any confusion, which was great as well. I would definitely like to stay here again!
