    It was a great accommodation.

We truly felt the warm hospitality from all the staff, and above all, the meals were delicious. This is an Accommodation we would definitely love to visit again, and we look forward to staying with you next time.

The Finest Hospitality and the Most Spectacular Views

This trip was mainly to visit Ise Grand Shrine, Toba, and Futamiura. I was especially looking forward to visiting Futami Okitama Shrine and seeing the Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks), so I searched for the Accommodation closest to the shrine and chose “Oishiya.” From the very beginning, I was impressed by the exceptionally courteous and pleasant service. From arriving by taxi through check-in, being shown to my Room, dining, and even the Shuttle Service to the station after check-out, everything was handled in such a welcoming way that it made for a truly wonderful trip. To the proprietress, manager, attendants, Shuttle Service driver, and everyone at Oishiya, thank you very much. Dinner was a charcoal-grilled seafood kaiseki course. Starting with appetizers and sashimi, the main dishes featured an abundant selection including abalone, squid, turban shell, other shellfish, and vegetables. Being able to enjoy abalone both grilled and as sashimi made it an especially luxurious meal. The meal was so plentiful that I’m sorry I ended up leaving one dish unfinished. I also appreciate the attendant’s thoughtful consideration regarding dessert. The view of Futami’s sea from the panoramic bath was exceptional—I enjoyed it many times: before dinner, after dinner, and early in the morning. The location of this Accommodation is also perfect for accessing Futami Okitama Shrine. After check-in, after dinner, at sunrise time, and after check-out, I was able to visit a total of four times—it meant so much to me. Every view was wonderful, but the scenery at sunrise was truly unforgettable. Staying at “Oishiya” made this an outstanding trip. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The hospitality is excellent.

The same staff member as last year assisted us, and we had a very pleasant stay. The service from the new staff member was also very welcoming.

    We stayed on a Sunda...

We stayed on a Sunday, and since it was right after Golden Week, it was very quiet and relaxing. All of the meals were delicious. For dinner we chose charcoal-grilled seafood, and the attendant kindly showed us several tasty ways to enjoy it. There are two private baths available without a Reservation. We chose a Room with an open-air bath, but since the washing area is in a separate shower room, we also used the large public bath. I love Ryokan public baths and used it twice; it was almost like having it to ourselves, so we could truly unwind. The interior has been renovated and was very clean. The staff at the Accommodation welcomed us warmly and politely, and my mother was especially happy. We would love to stay again when we are in the area!

Just a short distance to Futamigaura.

We stayed here thinking it was the closest Accommodation to Meoto Iwa, and we were absolutely right. It’s truly just a short walk away—an evening stroll along the shore before dinner was wonderful, and it was also very convenient for watching the sunrise! We really appreciated the note with the sunrise time. The weather was perfect, and we were able to see a magnificent sunrise. The meals were delicious as well. If anything, there may have been a bit too much food—we couldn’t finish it all. There was plenty of fresh seafood, and everything looked beautifully presented.

    A Welcoming Accommodation

A cozy Accommodation right in front of the sea. The entire property is kept very clean, with great attention to detail. Many of the staff are elderly, but they were extremely kind and courteous. The Room was spotless, and while the bath is not very large, it was never crowded and we could relax and enjoy it at our own pace. For dinner, we had the seafood charcoal-grill course. Their signature abalone was satisfying and substantial, and the other dishes were also thoughtfully prepared. The portions were a bit too much for us (in our 60s), but we felt it came from their desire for guests to enjoy plenty of food. If I had one wish, it would be a course with smaller portions but even higher-quality ingredients. Overall, we found it to be a truly wonderful Accommodation where you can spend your time comfortably.

    Mother’s Day Gift

We stayed here as a Mother’s Day gift. I traveled with my 94-year-old mother who has difficulty walking, and they kindly lent us a wheelchair and were very helpful. The location is excellent, very close to Meoto Iwa (the Wedded Rocks). On May 5, the shimenawa rope had been renewed and looked beautiful. Early the next morning it was cloudy so we couldn’t see the sunrise, but we enjoyed a pleasant walk. Dinner suited my mother’s tastes perfectly—the spiny lobster sashimi and tuna sashimi were delicious, and she was delighted with the tempura, braised pork, and other simple Japanese dishes. We were so full that we asked to have dessert brought to our Room. If I had one request, there are no drinks unless you go down to the vending machines on the first floor, so I would like some beverages stocked in the in-room refrigerator even if they are paid items. It was disappointing that the open-air bath in the Room was not an Onsen but heated water; however, the setting is wonderful—soaking in the outdoor tub while looking out at the sea felt great.

    We chose to stay her...

We chose to stay here based on the high Review ratings and our expectation of “the hospitality unique to a Japanese Ryokan.” However, the trainee staff member in charge left us with concerns about their manners, explanations, and language skills. Communication was not smooth; we often had to repeat the same requests twice, and we found ourselves worrying about whether our needs were understood, which prevented us from relaxing and enjoying our meal. What further undermined our trust was that the Accommodation provided no prior explanation at all about this situation. If we are paying a high Accommodation Fee but cannot expect a consistent level of service quality, isn’t it the minimum courtesy to inform guests in advance? We were disappointed and felt this Accommodation might be prioritizing government subsidies. As a result, it seems they are diminishing their own value as a Ryokan. This stay was far from the “high-quality hospitality unique to a Japanese Ryokan” that we had expected. Going forward, we have learned that we also need to confirm such details in advance—this is simply the kind of world it has become.

Perfect starting point for an Ise Shrine visit

My friend and I stayed here for one night before visiting Ise Shrine. The walk from the nearest station to the Accommodation was just the right distance, and from check-in (I hesitated a little because several men in work clothes were chatting in front of the entrance and I couldn’t tell if they were staff) to being shown to our Room, as well as the service during meals, we received attentive hospitality throughout and had a very comfortable stay. The Room, facilities, and bath areas were all thoroughly cleaned—spotless and pleasant to use. The meals were neither too much nor too little, and we enjoyed a menu featuring plenty of local ingredients in a private dining room (it would have been perfect if soundproofing from the neighboring space were a bit better). If I had to mention any drawbacks, it would be that the bath is an artificial Onsen and there is only one open-air bath in the large public bath area, so it can only be used either on arrival day or the following morning. However, considering everything—the location, cleanliness of the Accommodation, food, and service—I would definitely like to stay here again on my next trip to visit Ise Shrine.

This Ryokan has many highly rated Reviews.

It was a Ryokan with a classic atmosphere. From the storefront and parking attendant’s welcome on arrival, to check-in, and then being shown to our Room with explanations, each staff member assisted us. While many Accommodations nowadays operate with fewer staff, this Accommodation provided attentive service throughout. Not only the Room, but everywhere I saw was thoroughly cleaned and felt very pleasant. Dinner and breakfast featured plenty of seafood and local ingredients typical of Ise-Shima; everything was delicious, and the portions were more than we could finish as seniors. The dishes may not be surprising or flashy, but they truly reflect the region. Meoto Iwa is very close by for an enjoyable stroll, and it is also conveniently located for visiting Ise Grand Shrine and other sightseeing spots. When I say “classic,” I don’t mean old—this was a relaxing Accommodation where we could truly unwind.

    Highly recommended Accommodation (Oishiya)

This was our first stay at Oishiya, and we brought my parents with us. In short, we were extremely satisfied. The entire building is tatami throughout and completely barrier-free, which was perfect for my elderly parents. The warm hospitality from all the staff and the outstanding creative cuisine were truly delicious. Meoto Iwa is just a 2–3 minute walk from Oishiya, so when we woke up early, we were able to see a beautiful sunrise. To everyone at Oishiya, thank you very much for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely come again.

    Mother-Daughter Trip

I stayed for one night with my elderly mother. Thank you very much for your thoughtful care and for preparing everything we needed. The scenic bath in our Room had an ocean view right in front of us, which was wonderful. The food was also extremely delicious. My mother usually eats only a small amount, but she was surprised that she could eat more than usual because the dishes were so good. We were able to relax and spend the day at a leisurely pace, and both my mother and I were very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this Accommodation. Thank you again.

To the Meoto Iwa Rocks (Wedded Rocks) for those heading there.

I visited Meoto Iwa at Futamiura 10 years ago, and this time I came back to celebrate my 70th birthday and was looking for an Accommodation. After reading the Reviews, I hesitated a bit, but since there weren’t many places nearby, I made a Reservation here. The Facility felt somewhat lacking. At check-in, there were no slippers, and the hallway is tatami-matted. The Room was on the top floor with an ocean view and had an open-air bath with a sea view, but there was no hot water provided—you’re told to fill it yourself. It felt like too much trouble, so I didn’t use it. The Room is basically one room, and considering the price I was a little disappointed at first. However, the staff who welcomed us and the attendant assigned to our room were kind, and you could really feel how hard they were trying—my satisfaction gradually increased, which was nice. If you’re driving, they shuttle you to and from the parking lot by microbus, which was reassuring. The meal came with explanations from our attendant and was delicious. Many people went down to the sea before sunrise; since we stayed right in front of it, Meoto Iwa was just a short walk away.

    Reward Trip

We stayed here as a reward trip. Booking a room with a private open-air bath was absolutely the right choice! Soaking in the open-air bath while looking out at the beautiful sea was amazing. We had both breakfast and dinner included, and the meals were incredibly generous—so satisfying that we were completely full. It was a luxurious amount unlike anything we’ve had before. Everything was delicious! It was also about a 2-minute walk to Meoto Iwa (the Wedded Rocks), so we took a lovely stroll there before dinner at sunset. The staff member who assisted us had such a wonderful smile and was kind and attentive, which made our stay very pleasant! (I’ll refrain from sharing their name to avoid identifying them.) All of the other staff were also warm and wonderful. If you’re planning a trip to Mie, this is an Accommodation I highly recommend! If we have another chance to visit Mie Prefecture for an anniversary or special celebration, we would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday. The bath in our Room and the private bath were very relaxing, and we had a comfortable stay. It was excellent.

It was my first visit. I had been looking forward to it as it was an accommodation with great reviews. From arrival to departure, I could feel the warmth and attentiveness of the staff at this accommodation. The meals were excellent! Thanks to the meticulous care and courteous service of the staff in charge, we had an even more comfortable time. My whole family absolutely loved this accommodation. It’s a place that makes you want to visit again. Thank you very much!

It was a blissful New Year trip!

Thank you for your kind hospitality during our New Year's trip, staying one night from January 2nd. We truly appreciated the attentive service during our phone inquiries and in-person interactions. The Irori-style grilled kaiseki dinner was exceptional, with fresh seafood and outstanding service from the staff attending to our table. We do have one small request: regarding the step at the entrance, it would be helpful for guests with weaker legs if a handrail or seating area could be provided to make standing and sitting easier. My wife and I were very satisfied with this trip, and she mentioned wanting to visit again. Next time, we hope to come during abalone season! S.M., Osaka

    It was a very pleasa...

It was a very pleasant accommodation. There was a free private bath, and the large public bath was also great. The meals included a large spiny lobster and were delicious, but I couldn't finish everything, so it would have been nice to have a smaller portion plan. The Meoto Iwa rocks were right in front, making for an enjoyable walk. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A wonderful accommodation filled with thoughtfulness

This was the most hospitable and thoughtful accommodation I have ever stayed at. I was amazed when they prepared my shoes just by looking at my face as I was about to take a short walk around the area. It truly impressed me how attentive they were to their guests. The meals were visually beautiful and delicious, with explanations of the ingredients, making it an enjoyable and satisfying dining experience. The room and bath were impeccably clean, and the family bath was more spacious than expected, equipped with handrails for added safety. I believe even elderly guests can enjoy it comfortably without worry. My whole family was satisfied, which made me very happy. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity!

It was a very nice accommodation.

First and foremost, we were extremely satisfied with the heartfelt hospitality. On top of that, the food was delicious, and the view from the Room was excellent. The location is perfect, being close to Meoto Iwa. After enjoying the sunrise at Futamigaura, we soaked in the open-air bath as it was a bit chilly. If I may be a little indulgent, it would be even better if both gender-swapped large baths had open-air baths.

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip.

Guest Rooms & Amenities Stayed in a room on the 5th floor. The room, bathroom, and toilet were all new, clean, and well-maintained, making for a very comfortable stay. I was pleasantly surprised to find an outlet and a USB Type-A port near the bedside. As for amenities, only standard items were provided, which was slightly disappointing. Service & Hospitality When we were about to arrive at the accommodation but got stuck in a line waiting for parking nearby, I called the accommodation. They promptly guided us and even provided shuttle service to their dedicated parking lot—this was incredibly helpful. Inside the accommodation, our assigned staff member was very friendly; while some might have mixed feelings about this level of interaction, I personally enjoyed it! We also had an enjoyable time during meals thanks to their warm hospitality. Baths There was both a large public bath and non-reservable private baths available. Luckily, there was availability for one of the private baths when we wanted to use it. The water temperature was just right with strong shower pressure as well. However, it was unfortunate that there wasn’t any view from the private bath—perhaps this wouldn’t be an issue with the public bath? Facilities & Amenities While not particularly dissatisfied myself, note that there is no shop within the facility—only one vending machine is available—which might be inconvenient for some guests. Dining The meals were highly satisfying! Dinner portions were generous; I initially worried if I could finish everything but ended up eating my portion plus some of my wife’s as well—it left me completely full! Although we had another reservation at a different restaurant for lunch on our departure day and planned to eat lightly in the morning...I couldn’t resist having seconds of rice because everything tasted so good. We chose this accommodation as part of our wedding anniversary trip and made wonderful memories here. If we have another chance to visit this area again in the future, we would definitely love to stay here once more!

Enjoy the Delicacies of Ise's Seafood

Stay with a charcoal-grilled course. The fresh seafood from Ise, delivered alive, was luxurious and thoroughly enjoyable. The Ise lobster and oysters were particularly delicious. The accommodation felt new, possibly due to recent renovations. Although it wasn't the nearest station, they kindly picked us up, which was very helpful. If you stay here, we highly recommend including dinner in your plan!

    Take your time.

After visiting Geku and Naiku, we drove about 20 minutes by rental car to Futami for check-in. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. After dropping off our luggage, we took a stroll around Futami Shrine and Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks). The next day, due to rain, we couldn't see the sunrise. After breakfast, we went to collect Goshuin stamps before checking out and heading towards Toba. The accommodation was renovated a few years ago and felt very clean. There is a private bath available, but I personally enjoyed the large public bath more. It’s cozy with no large groups of guests, making it quiet and pleasant. For amenities in the bath area, there are cleansing wash products, lotion, and milk available. Towels need to be brought from your room; as someone with long hair, I found them slightly insufficient. The meals were exquisite! We enjoyed them leisurely in a private dining room. All the staff at the accommodation were friendly and made our stay very comfortable. I was initially unsure whether to stay near Geku or not but choosing this accommodation turned out to be perfect!

    Ise lobster, only in Ise

I thought the price of spiny lobster was a bit high, but it was a Property where you could truly feel the warmth of people until the final farewell, especially in recent times when Onsen Hotels and Ryokans often leave guests alone under the guise of respecting privacy.

    Warm hospitality

The service was attentive, and I enjoyed the benefits of a small-scale property. It has been renovated and feels clean, and the meals were delicious. One point: during this stay in a Japanese-Western style room with futons added, I was surprised to find the futons put away when I returned after breakfast. Recently, tidying up is often done after checkout, so it would have been nice if the room attendant had explained this beforehand or asked for our preference. Other than that, it was a very comfortable property. I would like to visit again if given the opportunity.

    The Inn of Pure Heart

If you descend from the national highway towards the coastline, using the Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks) as your landmark, the road tends to be crowded with cars. Once you cut through to the coast, you’ll find the parking lot for Meoto Iwa, but just before that, turn right onto the cobblestone path, and you’ll immediately arrive at the Property. The waiting staff will greet you and help unload your luggage. Following the guide microbus in your car, you’ll head back up to the national highway and find the parking lot 300-400 meters west. You then return to the Property via the microbus. The exterior resembles an old Ryokan, but inside, it is a modern and sophisticated six-story building. The tatami-floored interior appears newly renovated, with fresh fixtures and cleanliness throughout. The Rooms are authentic Japanese-style with luxurious coffered ceilings. Although the Rooms feature beds in a tatami setting, there is no sense of disharmony. The air conditioning works well. However, the large TV had poor reception for some channels. From the north-facing Room, you can enjoy views of the coastline, the sea, and the Chita Peninsula through the glass-walled bathroom. The empty bathtub can be filled to the perfect temperature in just over ten minutes with the push of a button. Unfortunately, due to its design, soap and other products cannot be used in this bath. The temperature is maintained 24/7. Next to the sink area, there is a shower room where you are required to wash your body. The large communal bath also features wide glass windows for panoramic views. The bath itself is a spacious, square wooden-framed tub. There are two private baths available: one facing the back mountain (south-facing) and the other facing the sea. However, neither offers much of a view. Each has two washing areas and a wooden-framed tub that can accommodate about three people. If unoccupied, you can lock the door and use it privately. Post-bath beer is available from a vending machine offering Suntory cans, and the shop sells local craft beer. Bottled beer can also be ordered via Room service. The private dining Rooms are booth-style, separated by walls with open transoms. The partitions on the entrance side are entirely lattice doors, so you can hear the sounds of dishes being cleared and conversations from neighboring booths. Allergy and dietary preferences are accommodated perfectly. The staff are all polite, sincere, and kind. The title of "a Property of simplicity and sincerity" is undoubtedly fitting.

    Meals and Scenery

I heard about this Ryokan from a friend, and for the first time, my husband and I stayed for one night with an open-air bath and dinner. The dinner was very delicious. The dessert we had at the end of the meal was so tasty! It was the most memorable dessert I've ever had. The bath with a view of the sea was also very nice and relaxing. The person in charge of our Room took great care of us from start to finish. If we have another opportunity, we would definitely like to visit again.
