    No matter how many times you stay, it’s always a great Accommodation.

    I stayed at Banshokaku Shikishima again this summer while visiting my hometown, and once again I truly felt it is an Accommodation where attentive care and consideration reach every detail. All of the staff were extremely polite and kind, and I could really feel their warmth and compassion. The meals were very thoughtfully prepared, delicious of course, and left me completely satisfied. The staff who welcomed me at the front desk and in the parking area also assisted me very courteously, which made me feel great. I also remember seeing a staff member giving directions to another guest—explaining slowly, clearly, and with great care. This time as well, I am simply grateful for the warm support from the front desk staff when I was leaving. Thanks to you all, I was able to relax comfortably at my own pace and feel refreshed. I would definitely like to stay at Banshokaku Shikishima again next time too. To everyone on the team, I look forward to seeing you again someday. Thank you very much.

    An exquisite space, baths, and dining

    I often stay in Rooms with open-air baths around Japan, but here, the moment you step into the Room, a large stone open-air bath is right in front of you. The meals include Saga beef and abalone shabu-shabu, and each dish is carefully prepared in small portions with refined seasoning—truly delicious. I sometimes hesitate to stay at a Ryokan on trips because I tend to overeat and gain weight, but there was absolutely nothing lacking; the portions were just right, and we could enjoy everything to the end (both dinner and breakfast). This was about my fourth time in Ureshino, and my wife was also very satisfied with this renovated space. We would like to come again.

    A calm and serene atmosphere

    Set in a quiet location slightly away from the center of the area, I felt comfortable throughout my stay thanks to the warm welcome from all the staff. The optional lounge was also wonderful—enjoying snacks carefully selected by the head chef made it easy to keep sipping drinks. With thoughtful touches throughout that help you forget everyday life, I’d love to come back again.

    I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

    We stayed here on a senior sisters’ trip. Thank you for your prompt reply to the comment I wrote at the time of Reservation, and for your thoughtful support. That attentive service never changed—from meeting us at the station on arrival to check-out. The Room was very comfortable, and we were delighted with the large bath that we could use whenever we liked. The hot spring water felt gentle, and we were able to relax in the Room at our own pace. Since I don’t like in-room dining because odors tend to linger, I really appreciated being able to dine in the restaurant instead. We enjoyed a delicious meal at leisure in a private room. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and I especially loved the yudofu (tofu hot pot) in the morning. I was also happy to receive a birthday gift this time—it made for a wonderful memory. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

    Overall, it was disappointing.

    I stayed in an 80 m² Room. The Room itself was spacious, and the staff were kind; when I used the restaurant, they also accommodated ingredients I cannot eat, which I appreciated. However, considering the price of 80,000 yen per night, my overall satisfaction fell short of expectations. In particular, at breakfast I was very concerned about hygiene during serving and felt uncomfortable, so I left more than half of the meal. I had been looking forward to breakfast, so this was very disappointing. Also, when my slippers accidentally slid under the bed, I could see a significant buildup of dust and felt that cleaning was not thorough. In addition, items such as amenities and the hair dryer did not feel like a quality commensurate with the Accommodation Fee. Honestly, for the price I did not get the “luxury Accommodation” level of satisfaction.

    Superb hospitality

    The staff’s hospitality was wonderful. The meals were lightly seasoned and healthy, and we were very satisfied. This was our first trip to Saga, but it has become a place we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    This was our first p...

    This was our first parent-and-child trip in six months, and we were able to relax and take it easy. Dinner was excellent in both quality and portion size. Breakfast portions were good as well, but it would have been perfect with a standout main item—something like Japanese rolled omelet or squid sashimi. Also, the bathroom floor was quite slippery and felt potentially dangerous for older guests.

    Thank you for your support.

    We stayed here as a family to celebrate a retirement. We were happy to find a card in our Room expressing appreciation for the retirement. They also changed the bedding for my husband, who has a feather allergy, and the staff frequently checked in on us and treated us very kindly with warm smiles. The food was delicious, and although the Onsen is not free-flowing, it was kept at just the right temperature, so we enjoyed bathing many times. It was only one night, but we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

    Excellent value for ...

    Excellent value for money! The service was polite and truly wonderful. At most Ryokan, the third guest is given a futon or a rollaway bed, but the outlet is usually far away, so we end up having to move the futon or bed. Here, they set it up so that an outlet was right by our heads. It may seem like a small detail, but that kind of thoughtfulness is really appreciated. The only thing I noticed was that there was only one bath towel per person, which was disappointing. I take baths both morning and night, so with just one towel I had to dry it in between. It would have been perfect if at least two bath towels per person were provided. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Ureshino.

    Saga Beef is the best!

    Saga beef was as delicious as expected. We also enjoyed drinks and snacks in the lounge before dinner—it was wonderfully accommodating. The Room was spacious, clean, and excellent, but it was disappointing that the Onsen bath water was so hot that we had to add cold water to get in. We tried filling the tub at night and bathing early in the morning, but if possible, we would prefer it to be a comfortable temperature at any time.

    This is my second stay.

    My first stay was so wonderful that I made another Reservation as soon as I got home. After especially busy periods at work, I travel around the whole country for therapeutic Onsen stays, often combining them with business trips. This time I tried a different Room from my first visit. Based on my experience, the quality of Ureshino Onsen is among the very best mineral hot springs! I must have soaked in the private open-air bath in the guest room at least 10 times (laugh). With high-quality dinner and breakfast and an excellent Onsen, it was a perfect therapeutic retreat. The Room was beautifully designed with great attention to interior details—absolutely lovely. Most of all, I was truly surprised and moved that the Accommodation staff remembered us even though this was only our second visit. It really reminded me what true hospitality is. Our dedicated attendant was the same as last time. I was happy to be remembered, and I’m grateful for the thoughtful arrangement to have the same person again. And breakfast—Ureshino’s famous hot-spring yudofu! This might be the best tofu in the world…so delicious! The tofu gently melts from minerals in the hot-spring water and becomes incredibly smooth—my first time experiencing anything like it. Of course, I arranged delivery as a souvenir for my mother… A set with three blocks of tofu, sesame soy sauce, and cooking water is highly recommended. The sesame soy sauce is outstanding—it pairs perfectly with top-grade Saga rice at breakfast. This is a truly wonderful Accommodation that pursues what guests want. I’ll be back for another therapeutic stay in summer or autumn. Next time, I hope to see our attendant again—and it will be a joy to reunite with everyone at the Accommodation. I feel so happy to have stayed at such an amazing place this time. It was during peak cherry blossom season. Next time I’d love to visit during autumn foliage! I’ll definitely return!

    An accommodation where you can fully enjoy beautifully presented, delicious, and generous meals, as well as an open-air bath in your Room.

    We used this Accommodation to celebrate a guest’s longevity, and we were very satisfied with the staff’s kind and attentive service, as well as the beautifully presented dishes, gentle seasoning, and generous portions. In the lounge, we were able to enjoy relaxed conversation and unwind while enjoying the delicious complimentary drinks. We would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation you’ll want to visit again

    As the Room had just been renovated, it was very clean and we had a comfortable stay. The bath was not free-flowing, so we needed to adjust the temperature ourselves. At first, it felt a little inconvenient not being able to get in right away, but there was plenty of hot water from the tap, and above all the water quality was excellent—we were very satisfied. It was also great that it was easy to adjust the temperature for our child. The food was truly delicious, and the timing of each course being served was perfect. The staff member who looked after us had a gentle manner and provided very attentive service, which made our child very happy as well. We were especially pleased that our child could have the same dishes as the adults and ended up eating more than usual. It suited our family perfectly that it wasn’t a typical kids’ plate. There were many younger employees too; while some seemed a bit inexperienced, their sincerity really came through and left us with a great impression. It felt like warm hospitality throughout the entire Ryokan. My husband is currently on a solo work assignment in Kyushu, and I join him from Kansai during long holidays; we’ve stayed at various Onsen Ryokan over time, and among them this Accommodation ranks around first or second. We would definitely like to return again.

    An Accommodation with a Newly Opened Lounge

    When staying at a good Ryokan, I like to check in early, but on the day of our stay there was heavy snow and our flight from Tokyo was delayed by three hours, so we were only able to check in at 6:00 p.m. However, since the Room had a semi-open-air bath, we could use it right away. After relaxing in the bath, we enjoyed dinner. Everything at dinner was delicious—appetizers, sashimi, Saga beef dish, and assorted small plates—but the sashimi of bluefin tuna, sea bream, and yellowtail was especially fresh and memorable. I heard that a new lounge where you can enjoy alcohol and more was opened last December, so we chose a Plan with lounge access. The local chicken and marinated fish served there were also excellent. We used it after dinner, but I would have liked to arrive earlier and enjoy it more slowly. The Room was spacious and had been renovated, so it felt comfortable and we had a very pleasant stay. Every staff member was extremely courteous; you can tell that staff training is done properly. Now I understand why this Ryokan is so highly rated. That said, I also like large public baths, so I would be happy if the large public bath were easier to use casually as well.

    No matter how many times you stay here

    Thank you for taking such great care of us the other day. Every year when we visit Saikai City to pay respects at my parents’ grave, we have stayed with you many times, and this time—our first stay in three years—I was reminded that this is truly an outstanding Ryokan. This is from a previous stay, but perhaps someone noticed that I am left-handed: at mealtimes, you arranged the chopsticks and meal service for a left-handed guest, which I found wonderful. I have stayed at many Ryokan across the whole country, but it was the first time I had experienced such thoughtful attention, and I immediately became a fan. As always, all of your staff were courteous, incredibly kind, and made us feel warmly welcomed. Not only the building but also the guest rooms were very clean; the Facility offerings were excellent; and the Onsen was superb. Above all, the meals are exceptional. Every time we visit, the food is so delicious it makes us exclaim out loud—we are always completely satisfied. By chance this time, my daughter and her husband asked if I could recommend a good Ryokan for their trip around Kyushu. Without hesitation I told them Banshokaku is outstanding and that they should definitely go—and they were able to make a Reservation and will be staying there soon. I’m looking forward to hearing what they think. When we go to Saikai City to visit our family grave, Banshokaku is our one-and-only choice without question. We would love to stay with you again. It was a wonderful holiday—thank you very much.

    A five-star Accommodation offering exceptional hospitality.

    From the pick-up at Ureshino Onsen Station to check-in, meals, a birthday gift, check-out, and the Shuttle Service back to the station, every staff member provided truly heartfelt hospitality. I was able to spend a wonderful, relaxing birthday. The Room was new and spotless, and the Onsen left my skin silky smooth. And the food was so delicious that I finished everything—especially the egg over rice, which was outstanding. For my stay in Ureshino Onsen, I chose Banshokaku Shikishima.

    It was good.

    I visited Ureshino Onsen because I wanted to enjoy an Onsen. However, I was a little disappointed that there was no large public bath. The bath in the Room is an Onsen, but it wasn’t filled, so I felt that was a bit of a hassle. Still, once I got in, the water here felt slightly silky and very pleasant. Even though I had stayed at another Accommodation in the same Ureshino Onsen area the day before, the feel of the water was different. The meals were well seasoned, and my husband and I even said to each other, “They really do great work.” One disappointing point was that there was nothing in the Room refrigerator. I don’t mind paying for items, but it’s inconvenient to go out and buy them. Even so, I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Memories of Your Wedding Anniversary

    Banshokaku in Ureshino Onsen was wonderful. The staff’s hospitality was the best of any Accommodation I have stayed at. Their service with a smile made me smile too. The bath in the Room was spacious, and the Onsen water flow was more than sufficient, so I enjoyed many relaxing soaks. As Ureshino Onsen is known as “the beauty bath,” it really did leave my skin smooth and silky. Thank you very much for the lovely couple’s tea bowls to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We will cherish and use these cute Arita-yaki tea bowls with care from now on.

    I stayed in a newly renovated Room. It was very spacious and clean, and I was extremely satisfied. I visit Ureshino once a year, and this was my first time staying at Banshokaku Shikishima, but it was so comfortable that I would like to stay again next time.     From check-in to check-out, all staff provided courteous service. The bath is a private in-Room bath, so I could use it anytime and enjoyed it many times. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, and I was able to relax and unwind. I would like to stay again.

    The Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was especially impressed that a heater had been set up in the washroom after the meal (we had just been saying it was cold). The food was also delicious, and the portions were just right. It was unfortunate that there was a problem along the way and I ended up having to throw away some clothes, but they apologized more than enough, so I have no hard feelings. I would like to come again with my husband.

    It was absolutely amazing!

    I always make Reservations through IKYU and visit different Onsen every month. This time, I came to Kyushu because I wanted to see Ureshino Onsen, famous for its skin-beautifying waters. Everything about this Accommodation was simply outstanding! The Room, lobby, and dining areas were all impeccably clean, and I was able to fully enjoy my stay without a single bit of stress. The open-air bath in the Room was spacious and relaxing, and the water was wonderful—I probably enjoyed it about eight times during my stay. My partner has allergies, and the staff handled everything with great care. Everything was delicious, but I was especially impressed by how amazing the yudofu at breakfast was! The rice and tea were excellent as well. From guiding us to our Room to taking care of our meals, one female staff member looked after us throughout our stay. Her warm and attentive service made this an unforgettable experience—thank you so much! I would love to request her again next time. While many Accommodations seem short-staffed these days, this place had more than enough staff on hand. We never had any trouble at all, and even the farewell at departure was handled with great care. It was wonderful to see every staff member serving guests with such genuine enjoyment—it made for two very happy days. I truly hope you will visit with someone special. Thank you very much!

    The Room was spacious and quiet, allowing for a relaxing stay. The bath was hot and very pleasant. For breakfast, the yudofu (hot tofu) was delicious. However, the initial explanation of the facilities and the welcome greeting felt overly scripted, taking too much time without creating a welcoming atmosphere. In the Room's closet, there were only hangers; it would be helpful to have space for clothes that don't require hangers. Considering the price, improving customer service and hospitality would be appreciated.

    It was a very nice accommodation.

    On our first trip to Ureshino Onsen, we couldn’t decide where to go and ended up choosing this Accommodation—and it turned into a wonderful memory. The food was delicious (we ate far too much), and the bath had an amazing water quality that truly impressed us. Being able to set the temperature ourselves was also very helpful. Every staff member was kind and courteous, which left a lasting impression on us. Thank you for taking such good care of us. My mother also seemed to make a happy birthday memory here, and she was delighted. The Room had plenty of space to hang towels, and the sink area and toilet were spacious and easy to use. The layout was so convenient—we could get into the bath right away from the bed—so we ended up bathing again and again. If we could make one request as non-drinkers, it would be great if the drink menu at meals included more non-alcoholic options such as mocktails or non-alcoholic wine. The snacks in the new lounge were delicious as well. We had no particular complaints—this was a wonderful Accommodation.

    Everything is satisfying.

    The size, color scheme, and functionality of the Room with a bath, as well as the breakfast and dinner along with their explanations, were all excellent. The only concern was that there is a short staircase, which might be slightly inconvenient for those with heavy luggage.

    The rice was shining!

    I visited Ureshino Onsen with high expectations after reading reviews describing it as "silky." The private open-air baths attached to each room can be a bit challenging during this colder season due to the low outside temperatures. Unlike having a large public bath to warm up in first, even the washing area was outdoors. The meals for both breakfast and dinner were excellent. I was especially impressed by the shine of the rice, and the yudofu (hot tofu) was also delicious.

    Excellent Hospitality

    The hospitality was truly wonderful. However, during check-in, I would have preferred unsweetened green tea due to personal preference. The dinner was excellent. As someone who enjoys trying various cuisines, I found the dishes to be locally sourced and rich in flavor without being overly elaborate. Thank you for the delicious meal—it made me feel very happy. I am also deeply grateful for the birthday celebration you provided. The Onsen bath was amazing with its silky texture and skin-beautifying properties. I thoroughly enjoyed it and took multiple baths feeling refreshed each time. However, there was only one washing area available, so I had to wait for my turn, which was a bit disappointing. The Room was spacious and allowed me to relax fully while enjoying a blissful stay. Thank you very much!
