    Right in front of Ku...

    Right in front of Kumamoto Station, the Room I stayed in had a spacious desk—more than enough to set up a laptop and a portable display. The Michelin-chef-supervised breakfast curry was also delicious. I often stay here for business trips.

    A Kumamon Room That Will Delight Your Daughter

    As last year, I stayed in the Castle Suite with my daughter. It’s a Room that any young child will absolutely love. It features two Kumamoto Castle-themed bunk beds, a slide, plenty of toys, Kumamon figures, an oversized TV, and a hinoki cypress bath. The refrigerator was stocked with complimentary drinks—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—so while my child played, I could relax and fully enjoy some downtime.

    I stayed for two nig...

    I stayed for two nights but in different Rooms. As it was a weekend, I couldn’t book the Room I wanted. Overall, I was more satisfied with the larger Room.

    Conveniently located right in front of the station.

    I stayed one night while returning home for a class reunion. My stay was short so I didn’t have much time to relax, but the unit bath was comfortable to use. I was disappointed that there was no explanation of the amenities upon arrival. It’s close to the station, and I could travel to and from the airport by limousine bus without any stress.

    The Michelin breakfast curry is delicious.

    Conveniently located just steps from Kumamoto Station. The lobby features a large table with power outlets, making it ideal for remote work, and above all, the breakfast beef bowl and the chef-supervised morning curry were exceptionally delicious.

    Hmm, it’s not worth the price.

    I booked a breakfast-included plan with the Room assigned by the Hotel, and it was around JPY 16,000. Although it had a double bed, the Room was quite small and old. The view from the window wasn’t particularly good either. The bathroom Facility was completely at a business-hotel level. There wasn’t even bath salt. For this price, I’m not sure this level is acceptable. The lobby is nice, which makes the gap even worse. Breakfast had some Kumamoto touches, but it wasn’t especially good. It was mostly processed foods, which was disappointing. The front desk staff weren’t particularly friendly—just average—and seemed kind of tired. In Kumamoto I usually stay somewhere with a castle view; for the same price—or actually more than this—I found this stay very disappointing. Even if I need to stay near the station in the future, I won’t choose this place again. I appreciate the complimentary champagne for Diamond members in spirit, but I don’t drink alcohol, so I would have preferred something like an “optional welcome drink” at the bar instead.

    Castle Suite — My daughter was thrilled.

    We stayed as a group of four: my spouse and I, our elementary-school-aged child, and my mother-in-law. We used this Hotel for two nights during a 12-night trip around Kyushu. We added breakfast on both mornings, and had teppanyaki for dinner one night at the in-house restaurant “Rindo.” ● Location An extremely convenient location facing the rotary in front of Kumamoto Station. There is an affiliated parking lot, and we could load and unload luggage in front of the Hotel, so it was very convenient even when traveling by car. ● Shared areas This Hotel is a rebranded property that was formerly Hotel New Otani, and the overall quality of the spaces feels high. The lobby has a sense of grandeur while featuring a modern design, creating a calm atmosphere. The on-site Facility options were also excellent, including all-day dining, a lobby bar, and teppanyaki. ● Room This time we stayed in the “Castle Suite,” a concept Room with only one unit in the entire Hotel. The design is inspired by Kumamoto Castle and features two bunk beds with a tatami area between them—an unusual layout. The bunk beds felt like a true secret hideout and were an instant hit with our daughter. There was even a slide to come down from the top bunk; she loved it so much that every time we called her in the Room, she would come down via the slide. For children, this is undoubtedly one of the best Rooms imaginable. The bathroom was also very spacious—likely hinoki-style—and comfortably fit about three people at once. We were also surprised to find many complimentary drinks stocked in the refrigerator. There were even four bottles of champagne—so much that we thought, “Even though we have a child with us!?” ● Service Services for higher-category Rooms are very well provided. We could freely take items such as chuhai cocktails, highballs, and cup noodles back to our Room, and we could also order complimentary drinks at the lobby bar—overall an impressive level of hospitality. The staff were excellent as well; it’s rare to find such high satisfaction at this price range for an Accommodation. Having modern coin laundry machines was also extremely helpful during long-term travel. ● Overall satisfaction Our satisfaction level was very high. Considering how creative the Castle Suite is, it felt like incredible value—almost as if they had priced it incorrectly (in a good way). I hope it doesn’t become so popular that making a Reservation becomes difficult—even though I’m writing this Review anyway. Most importantly, our daughter said, “If we go to Kumamoto again, let’s stay at this Hotel,” which shows how strongly memorable it was for her too.

    We may have been unlucky with our Room.

    From the moment I entered the Room, an intermittent noise—possibly from the air conditioning—could be heard. At first, I tried not to worry and assumed it might be the sound of the Shinkansen or streetcars from outside, but it continued until around 4:00 a.m. (I fell asleep after that, so I’m not sure). Since the Room was next to the elevator, it may have been elevator noise. For the price, it was not very comfortable.

    There was an issue with the Room, so we moved.

    There was a decent selection of dining and restaurant options, but unfortunately the food was nothing special. I had hoped for a menu with a bit more character.

    Very close to Kumamo...

    Very close to Kumamoto Station, with easy access to the Shinkansen, buses, and tram—very convenient. There are restaurants nearby that stay open late. From Kumamoto Airport, you can take a bus and then walk to reach the property. The room is very clean.

    Improved quality

    The Room was well-appointed, clean, and spacious enough. It would have been even better with a desk. I also enjoyed breakfast and the dinner buffet. The selection was well-balanced, with plenty of Japanese, Western, and Chinese options. It’s a place I’d like to stay at again.

    It’s very clean. The service is excellent.

    I stayed here the night before a business trip. The Room was beautiful, and we were treated to complimentary champagne. The lobby lounge has a warm, welcoming atmosphere where people naturally gather, and it is very stylish. The hair dryer is high-performance—something many women will appreciate. Nearby, there is a convenience store that carries rare local farm products. I will come again. Thank you very much.

    The family room is spacious and comfortable.

    We stayed in a family room. It was spacious and comfortable. It was also easy to access, as we could get there from Kumamoto Station with almost no exposure to rain.

    Curry created under the supervision of a Michelin-starred chef

    I often stay in the Comfort Business Semi-Double Room for business trips because it is extremely convenient. Although it is 13 m², the sofa and large business desk are perfect for working on a PC. For breakfast, there is curry supervised by a Michelin-starred chef, and it was the most delicious curry I have ever had.

    We stayed on the lux...

    We stayed on the luxury floor with our child. Since you remove your shoes in the Room, it was comfortable and easy to spend time there with a child. However, luxury-floor guests can use the bar and restaurant with some drinks free of charge, but when we tried to use the bar with our child, a staff member indirectly discouraged us from entering. We were repeatedly told that the open self-service drink bar on the 4th floor (available 24 hours for luxury-floor guests) has almost the same selection as the free drinks at the 1st-floor bar, so we should take drinks from the 4th floor and drink them in our Room. After insisting on this several times, we were told there is only one bar-only drink made at the bar, that it can be taken out, and again suggested we drink it in our Room—then finally told that we could use the bar if we still wanted to. Children under 13 are allowed until 8:00 PM. We came right at opening time (5:00 PM) so as not to disturb others; there were no other guests. We also paid the same rate as adults for our stay. I found it extremely unreasonable that they kept giving explanations that made it difficult for a child to use the bar. Because bars often do not allow children, we specifically made a Reservation at this Hotel because it seemed like a place where families could enjoy using a bar while traveling. If children are not welcome, please clearly state “No children” so families will not make a Reservation. We reported this unfair treatment to reception and received an apology from a manager, but they said they could not confirm what happened because the staff member involved was serving other guests at that time. Apologizing without confirming facts is disrespectful both to us and to that staff member. Please do not offer casual apologies without verification. This Hotel may be enjoyable for adults only, but I do not recommend it for families with children. Blossom Kumamoto by Kumamoto Station rotary is family-friendly and recommended. Blossom Kumamoto was fully booked this time, so we reserved this Hotel after seeing it online and thinking we would have an enjoyable stay—but it was disappointing. Blossom Kumamoto has clean Rooms and a large public bath area, with great views of trains. It is next to Amu Plaza shopping facilities for convenient shopping, and there are play areas on the 3rd floor such as swings and slides—highly recommended for families with children.

    This is one of my regular Accommodations when I’m on business in Kumamoto. Because it’s close to Kumamoto Station, I stay here when I plan to travel by Shinkansen. Thanks to the front desk staff’s service and the atmosphere of the Room, I can relax without feeling worn out from my trip, and I’m always grateful.

    Recommended Luxury Floor!

    This Hotel is just a short walk from Kumamoto Station. If you stay on the luxury floor, you can enjoy a variety of services. At the 24-hour drink corner (they even had nuts and cup noodles!), you can help yourself not only to soft drinks but also lemon sour and highballs from the dispenser. There was a great selection of glasses and cups, which made it very convenient to use. At the bar on the first floor, I tried an original cocktail. I quickly had one drink and then went out for dinner. There were coupons for guests, but Kumamoto has so many great restaurants that this time I went to a place I had been aiming for. It’s very close to both the streetcar stop and the JR station, making it extremely convenient for dining, sightseeing, and getting to work destinations. The Room layout is compact, but I felt the flow was well thought out. I couldn’t find a bathrobe, so I called and they brought one right away. The electric kettle, hair dryer, and other amenities were high quality as well—you can really feel their attention to detail. I liked it so much that I’d like to share a few things I noticed for future reference. - Check-in is at 3:00 PM, but I arrived early and left my luggage with them. Since I wanted to work, I headed to the restaurant hoping to have coffee on the first floor—but they were running a strawberry fair and were fully booked with Reservations. When I asked the restaurant staff if I could just have coffee at the bar, they said yes; however, no one was there at that time. There is also lobby seating, but I hesitated to ask at reception about Wi-Fi because they looked busy helping other guests with luggage storage—so in the end I went toward the station building area instead. I worked for a little over an hour there while having coffee with Wi-Fi access. It would have been nice if I could have had coffee without needing to go elsewhere (though of course it would have been fine if I'd simply waited). - When you open the Room door, it’s a shoes-off style space—which I love! However, because of how far/which way the door opens and where you’re meant to place your shoes are in essentially same spot; it’s hard to know what do with your shoes when entering or leaving. It may be difficult change now , but wanted mention as slight inconvenience . - Shower water pressure: The bathtub filled quickly which was great . However , shower (I didn ’ t use rain shower ; only hand shower ) felt bit weaker than expected . After reading Reviews , breakfast seems excellent , so next time I'd love stay on Plan that includes breakfast . Thank you very much for your hospitality .

    Comfortable!

    Very convenient location right in front of Kumamoto Station! The commercial facilities near the station are also easy to use, making it a great base for sightseeing in Kumamoto. The Room was renovated, clean, and stylish. Breakfast was also great. The beef bowl was delicious, and I’d love to have it again!

    Newly Renovated Charming Hotel Near the Station

    Located just a 2-3 minute walk from Kumamoto Station, the Hotel is conveniently accessible with a covered walkway. The station area offers various restaurants, souvenir shops, and access to the city tram for easy transportation. The Room has been stylishly renovated, offering a clean and modern design. While not very spacious, it feels fresh and well-maintained, including the bathroom facilities. The bar downstairs is also very chic; we enjoyed complimentary drinks as part of an IKYU benefit and had a relaxing time. Breakfast features an extensive selection of local dishes such as Dago-jiru soup, Taipien noodles, Akaushi beef bowl, Aso milk, and more. The spicy potatoes were particularly delicious! There’s also a great variety of bread, salads, and desserts to enjoy Kumamoto's flavors in the morning. With excellent convenience and quality service, this is truly an outstanding Hotel that I keep coming back to!

    Excellent location right next to Kumamoto Station.

    I used this Hotel for the first time during a business trip. Although it is far from the downtown area, it is conveniently located near Kumamoto Station. There is a BAR next to the check-in counter, and the reception area has a pleasant fragrance, giving it an atmosphere similar to an overseas Hotel. The Room had a long sofa where I could stretch my legs comfortably, which was very convenient. The breakfast offered a decent variety and was satisfying. A traveler from China sitting at the next table was enjoying a hearty Akaushi beef bowl in the morning (laughs). Various buses and trams depart from in front of the station, making city travel easy, and there are also buses to and from the airport. If I have another chance to visit Kumamoto, I would like to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    On the luxury floor,...

    On the luxury floor, you can take drinks from the 4th floor (such as wine, lemon sour, coffee, etc., but no beer. Interestingly, there are also several types of cup noodles) back to your room. Additionally, depending on the time, the same drinks from the 4th floor are served for free in the lounge on the 1st floor along with meals. Beer and special cocktails are available for an additional charge. Instead of taking drinks back to your room, enjoying wine and other beverages with a meal was highly satisfying. We had crab pasta and beef steak—both were exceptionally delicious. The price was reasonable; when we asked about the beef's origin, we were told it was American Angus beef (if I recall correctly). There was no issue with smell or taste thanks to how it was prepared by the chef—it was absolutely delightful. Discounts are also available for guests, making it very convenient. Breakfast is a buffet style. Aso milk is sweet and delicious! The ingredients used were quite good as well. Since there is no parking at the hotel itself, you can use Kumamoto Station's third parking lot for ¥1000; however, finding it might be a bit confusing. The entire hotel seems to have been renovated recently and looks very clean. Considering all these factors together, it's excellent value for money!

    Stylish Hotel in Front of Kumamoto Station

    Newly renovated, stylish, and convenient, this is my go-to place when visiting Kumamoto. There are various Room options ranging from compact to luxurious types, but for business trips, I recommend the Comfort Business Semi-Double. The sofa next to the bed and the spacious desk are incredibly practical. Also, the beef bowl at the breakfast buffet is delicious.

    This was my second trip to Kumamoto. The Hotel Room was well-cleaned and had a sense of cleanliness. The Hotel staff responded quickly to our requests, which was great. One thing I wish for is bath additives as part of the amenities. This time, I bought some at a drugstore. I would like to stay at this Hotel again next time. It was nice to relieve my daily stress here.
