  Is it discrimination?

  I arrived in a compact car. Upon arrival, there were several luxury cars ahead. Two staff members attended to the car in front, leaving me waiting for a while. The Room felt like an ordinary business hotel, possibly because it was standalone. The small Room was mostly occupied by the bed. The food was decent but served on a small table. There is beer available in the vending machine, but no shop selling snacks or side dishes to go with it. I don't think I will visit here again.

  I had a relaxing time.

  My mother and I decided to visit the Tobe Pottery Festival to look at plates, and I thought of staying at Yamato-ya, where I had stayed before. We stayed for two nights, and it turned out to be the perfect choice as my mother was very pleased. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The staff at the Hotel were very kind, making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for taking care of us!

  Breakfast is enjoyable.

  The breakfast buffet captures the atmosphere of Dogo Onsen and is enjoyable! We also had sparkling wine, making for an elegant breakfast. The Dagashiya bar didn't have as many varieties as expected, but the kids loved it! The complimentary orange juice from the tap was a nice touch. Thank you!

  From the parking lot...

  From the parking lot to departure, the staff provided exceptionally courteous service. Thank you very much. While there were some areas that felt a bit dated, the facility was well-maintained, clean, and spacious enough. It is conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Honkan, and the large public bath within the facility was comfortable. I am extremely satisfied with my first trip to Dogo Onsen.

  The meals, room, and...

  The meals, room, and service were all excellent. The only downside was that the accommodation fee felt high due to the holiday period, which is why I deducted one star.

  Beautiful Onsen Property

  From check-in to check-out, it was a wonderful Hotel in every aspect. I was very satisfied with the bath, meals, amenities, and the structure of the Hotel. If you are going to Dogo, I highly recommend this place. Just one point: if breakfast is changed to a banquet hall with that number of menu items, I think a set menu plus half buffet might have been better. It was slightly disappointing because everything else was so elegant. (I also wanted to try Matsuyama Taimeshi) The women's open-air bath is very nice, so I recommend men take a morning bath.

  Emotional Experience

  It was a wonderful Ryokan. Since it uses the same hot spring as Dogo Onsen Honkan, there's no need to go to crowded places. Big thanks to IKYU for the discount. Thank you very much.

  A good Ryokan near Dogo Onsen.

  I chose the property based on the review. It was a historical ryokan with a sense of cleanliness, and the age did not bother me. Flowers were arranged at the entrance, showing attention to detail. For meals, dinner was a course meal, and breakfast was buffet style, where I enjoyed a seafood bowl. The mandarin juice was also delicious.

  The hot water was lukewarm.

  Very close and conve...

  Very close and convenient to Dogo Onsen Honkan. The entrance is impressive, and the decor is lovely. The bath here was also nice. The service of drinks and snacks after the bath was enjoyable. Other than the slow elevator, I was very satisfied and highly recommend it.

  The Room I stayed in...

  The Room I stayed in had a tokonoma, which I thought was unnecessary. The tea preparation area was in a separate location, which was inconvenient. The food was bland and not tasty.

  It was a very good Ryokan.

  The atmosphere is beautiful and calm from the entrance. The attached cafe offers a foot bath. After check-in, you can enjoy orange juice from a tap in a lounge-like area. It was delicious and refreshing. I also enjoyed the Onsen inside the facility, but I went to the famous Dogo Onsen early in the morning with a basket and towel provided for free. It was a much-appreciated service. Dinner was plentiful, using seasonal and local ingredients, and was delicious.

  Price of Japanese Sake

  The alcohol prices at the dinner venue were surprisingly high. Japanese sake 1 go (180ml) was priced between 2,500 to 3,000 yen. Is this pricing aimed at guests from overseas? On the other hand, the Japanese sake bar at the post-bath area offered such cheap sake that it was undrinkable. The dinner tasted good, but there were two menu items cooked with solid fuel: a personal hot pot and teppanyaki. It felt a bit like cutting corners, and the cooking smell filled the room, which was a bit disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no guidance to the Room, which was disappointing for a Ryokan in this price range.

  A luxury Ryokan located in the central area of Dogo Onsen.

  This was my second visit. The Ryokan is conveniently located near the Dogo Onsen shopping street and right next to the Dogo Onsen Main Building, making it easy to find. During my previous visit, the Dogo Onsen Main Building was under renovation and although it was open, I did not bathe there. Now that the renovations are complete, I enjoyed a bath after a long time. However, as it was Friday evening, it was very crowded. While the building looked beautiful after renovation, I couldn't relax during my bath. In contrast, the Ryokan's bath was clean and allowed for a relaxing experience. There was also a complimentary corner offering local sake and snacks before entering the bath, which I appreciated. The room wasn't spacious but compactly arranged and sufficient for solo travelers like me. However, since my room was close to the elevator, conversations in the hallway were quite audible. Last time I booked with breakfast included but skipped it this time as I had an early departure planned in the morning. Next time I'll plan to enjoy breakfast at leisure before leaving!   We stayed during a family trip.

  Although it is a historic Ryokan, it was clean and the age did not bother me. In the morning, incense was burning everywhere, and it smelled nice. It was a hospitality I liked because I could relax from the morning. Meals were served in a private room for dinner and buffet style for breakfast. Both were delicious and very satisfying. I would like to use it again.

  A refined and tranquil Stays

  There was an elegance befitting a Japanese Ryokan, and I was able to spend time in a calm atmosphere. The indoor lighting Facility and the hot water supply Facility in the bath were designed with user-friendliness in mind. The meals were centered around dishes that fully brought out the flavor of sea bream, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I believe that introducing a security check system for room keys and inside the elevator would make it even more reassuring to use.

  It was a very good Stays.

  This time, we stayed at Yamato-ya Honten. The day we stayed happened to be our 50th wedding anniversary. When we mentioned this, we immediately received an anniversary gift and even received a commemorative photo the next morning. We enjoyed dinner in a private Japanese-style room and breakfast in a wonderful large room buffet. Since Dogo Onsen Honkan is very close, we lined up and entered early in the morning while it was still dark. It was a wonderful hotel in a great location. Thank you very much.

  Introducing Yamato-ya

  We were introduced to Yamato-ya by a local acquaintance and stayed with our family of five. The room, bath, and other facilities were impeccable, and the staff left a very good impression with their friendly demeanor. The bath for women had a Mirable, and it was larger than the men's bath, so it was disappointing to switch the next day. It would be great if all baths had a Mirable. The photo is of breakfast. It was very luxurious and delicious.

  I visited for the first time in about three years.

  At that time, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, both the city and the Stays had few people and various restrictions were in place. Now, with the surrounding area bustling again, the interior of Yamato-ya is quiet and relaxing. I used a single Room this time as well, but compared to last time, the whole Room felt darker. Was it just my imagination? The breakfast buffet was impeccable. Located almost in the center of Dogo Onsen, the location is excellent. Next time, I would like to request a Japanese-style Room.

  I relaxed by soaking in the hot spring many times.

  I was able to soak in the hot springs and relax thoroughly. It was very close to the Dogo Onsen Honkan. I only had breakfast this time, but next time I would like to try dinner as well. It's an inn that makes you want to come back to relax again.
