    High-quality.

    A Hotel that is never flashy, yet conveys exceptional quality and refined elegance. The rooms are spacious, and the chairs and beds are extremely comfortable. Instead of a card key, the traditional heavy brass key is actually a nice touch. Amenities are also high-end, including Nespresso and L’OCCITANE. It has a dignified presence unlike design-focused city hotels. I was impressed—it truly lives up to its reputation as a Hotel patronized by the Imperial Household.

    You should upgrade your Room category!

    Because it was the cheapest Room, it felt cramped—especially around the washbasin. Also, the water at the washbasin smelled bad! The restaurant (Sichuan Hanten) was very delicious, and the staff were very attentive.

    Luxury Hotel

    An exceptionally luxurious Hotel. Staying at this Hotel for this price is a great deal! The Room is excellent, and the Japanese breakfast is delicious! I also like that the key isn’t a card key. When I leave the key at the front desk and come back, they call me by name and hand it to me before I even reach the counter—meaning they remember my face. A Hotel I definitely want to stay at again!

    To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations, but it was amazing.

    The hot water pressure is strong, so the bathtub fills up in no time, which is great. The bed had just the right firmness, and I slept well. Breakfast was a healthy portion size, and the Japanese set meal was excellent. The price might be a little high, though. I also enjoyed using the lounge with its nice atmosphere. I will definitely be visiting Mito many times in the future, so I’ve decided to make this my regular Accommodation. Thank you in advance for your continued hospitality.

    About Japanese-Style Breakfast

    I was satisfied with the Hotel itself. However, I made a poor choice with breakfast. On Sunday, Japanese breakfast was available, and the menu photos looked appealing, so I chose it. Most of the food seemed pre-made (possibly from the night before), was cold, and everything tasted bland. Even the grilled fish was cold. At this quality level, I think it would be better not to offer a Japanese breakfast option.

    Lush Green Hotel

    It was my first time in Mito, and my first stay at Mito Plaza Hotel! From the moment I entered through the Hotel gate, the lush, green approach to the entrance impressed me. The Room was spacious, and the entire property had a calm atmosphere, making it very comfortable to stay. The staff were also very kind and helpful. If I visit Mito again, I would love to stay here again.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    The sophisticated, elegant atmosphere is timeless, and you can truly enjoy an extraordinary escape. The staff were also excellent, making our stay very comfortable. We will definitely stay again. I do wish the Japanese breakfast were a bit more delicate and offered more variety in flavor—the side dishes were seasoned similarly, and I started to tire of them as I ate. It’s a very nice Hotel.

    Last food order is early.

    The Room had a jacuzzi, but because of the rain we could hardly use it… If only there had been at least a roof… The Room was spacious, but the lighting didn’t seem to be divided into smaller sections, so it was inconvenient to use. By 7:30 PM at dinner, we were told last order had already passed. Although it was Japanese cuisine, only pre-prepared dishes were served. Worst of all, due to water shortages the tap water smelled muddy, and they served green tea made with that water. It smelled so bad that I couldn’t drink it. The Hotel staff’s service was very pleasant and kind.

    Wonderful no matter when you stay!

    This is my third stay. Each time I stay for four nights, and the food at the Hotel is always delicious, and all the staff are very courteous. The interior design and atrium within the Facility are luxuriously unique and unlike anything else. I would love to visit again in a different season.

    It was a wonderful Hotel!

    The service and the Room facilities made this feel like a high-quality Hotel. I drove there, but it was a bit disappointing that it’s located away from the city center. It was also a little far from Kairakuen. It would have been nice if there had been a Shuttle Service.

    The hospitality was excellent, and the food was delicious.

    As expected from a long-established Hotel, the service was outstanding. Personally, I didn’t like that the water was in aluminum cans, as I’ve heard aluminum is not good for the brain. You can receive a welcome drink with last order at 6:40 PM. You can choose from three types of plum wine. The cafe’s sweet potato milky shake was also delicious. If you install the app, food and drinks are 10% off. For dinner, we went to Yoshikawa, the Japanese restaurant inside the Hotel. The Sakura Kaiseki was sold out, so we chose the seafood course instead, and it was delicious. Breakfast was excellent as well.

    We had a very comfortable stay.

    This was my first trip to Ibaraki, and I’m truly glad I chose this Hotel. The entrance and lobby were bright and spacious, which immediately felt great. The Room was also large with a well-designed layout. The bathroom wasn’t just spacious—the bathtub itself was big, so even larger guests can relax comfortably. I also appreciated being able to wash properly using the shower in the washing area. What impressed me most was how pleasant and professional all the staff were in their responses and service. It felt like a Hotel with excellent staff training. I only had breakfast, but everything—including the coffee—was delicious. If I visit Mito again, I will stay at Plaza Hotel without hesitation. I would recommend it to friends who are traveling as well.

    The meals were very satisfying, but I noticed a few minor issues with cleanliness.

    I found out the night before that my wife had never been to Ibaraki Prefecture, so we decided to stay here on short notice. One disappointing point was finding a fly on the ceiling in the area with the sink. I think it would be more comfortable if this could be noticed during cleaning. On the other hand, what was truly great was the on-site restaurant. Since two restaurants were fully booked, we ended up dining at “Terrace Restaurant Rose,” which we hadn’t planned on, and the Hitachi course was excellent and very memorable. I heard the menu will change at the end of February, so I’d like to visit again if I have the chance. The parking lot is spacious, and it felt convenient for guests arriving by car. Even though it was a last-minute stay, we had a great time thanks to the meal.

    The Room was quite a walk from the elevator, but it was quiet and spacious enough. I was concerned that I couldn’t choose heating or cooling individually, making it hard to adjust the temperature; there was no humidifier despite the Room being quite dry (though hand-washed items dried well); the bathroom drain was a bit slow; and the desk light was so dim that it was hard to see what I was doing. The staff were kind and pleasant. The restaurant felt average—perhaps my expectations were too high—but it was very lively. I would like to stay here again when I visit Mito.

    Year-End Trip

    Thank you for providing a graceful time to forget the year-end hustle and bustle. I chose the Japanese breakfast with Mito natto, and it was a very well-balanced menu that exceeded my expectations in taste. The Room was spacious, allowing me to relax comfortably. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    Everything was excellent except for transportation access and the restaurant's last order time.

    The Hotel offers not only excellent facilities and services but also exceptional hospitality from the staff. We extended our stay with a late check-out. A taxi driver mentioned that it is a favorite of the royal family, which made perfect sense to us. The only downside was that the current location required a taxi ride costing around 3,000 yen from the station. Additionally, our timing did not align with the last order for both in-room dining and restaurant meals, so we missed out on enjoying what looked like delicious dinner and breakfast at their restaurant. That said, as we visit Mito once or twice a year, we have decided to return. Thank you very much!

    Travel

    All the staff were very polite, attentive, and provided excellent service. The facility was calm and clean everywhere you looked. The Room was chic with a great atmosphere, making it very comfortable to stay in. I had a Japanese-style breakfast, and everything I tried was delicious, making for a wonderful stay!

    A truly great Hotel

    I truly think this is a great Hotel. Additionally, as it was our 25th wedding anniversary, we were touched by the complimentary champagne service. The hospitality, amenities, and cleanliness were impeccable—thank you to everyone at the Hotel. However, just one thing: we had a Chinese course meal within the Hotel and were disappointed. Although the Hotel is far from Mito Station, I recommend taking a taxi to dine outside instead. My apologies for being so direct.

    As the name suggests, it is a Hotel fit for welcoming guests.

    The building, furnishings, and atrium greenery are all top-notch. I have enjoyed French cuisine here several times, and it is excellent! The performance exceeds the cost. The staff are very kind, attentive, and professional, making for an exceptionally comfortable stay. This is one of the hotels I would love to visit again.

    A wonderful Hotel

    We decided to visit Oarai as a couple and looked for a Hotel to stay overnight. It was a very luxurious Hotel with excellent hospitality. The restaurant was also lovely. We would love to stay again if we have the chance. Highly recommended!

    Gorgeous

    Although it is a bit far from the station, I decided to stay at this accommodation while enjoying a little detour. My purpose was to relax and prepare for the slightly hectic schedule starting the next day. The building is beautifully surrounded by greenery, with excellent facilities and tastefully selected furniture. The staff provided attentive and pleasant service. Staying in such a beautiful space with thoughtful hospitality truly made me feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    We were undecided on the destination for our 51st wedding anniversary trip, but after watching a TV program introducing gourmet spots in Ibaraki Prefecture, we were inspired to choose Ibaraki as our destination. For accommodation, we decided on Mito Plaza Hotel, which has an excellent Review rating on IKYU.com (2 nights with dinner and breakfast included). Since we made the Reservation just one week before our stay, we didn’t have much time to thoroughly research sightseeing information around Mito. It was a bit of a rushed start to the trip, but thanks to the wonderful experience at Mito Plaza Hotel, it turned out to be an excellent choice. The smiles and hospitality of the hotel staff were top-class among all the Hotels we've stayed at so far. The Room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We fully enjoyed a relaxing and extraordinary time there. For dinner and breakfast: on the first night we had Japanese cuisine; on the second night Western cuisine. Both meals were delicious; however, Yoshikawa Japanese Restaurant’s dinner and breakfast stood out with their exceptional ingredients, seasoning, texture, presentation—everything was perfect! We were extremely satisfied with these meals. Additionally, based on Reviews about how good cakes from the hotel’s cake shop are supposed to be—we bought two cakes to enjoy in our Room—and they indeed lived up to their reputation! As traveling long distances by plane has become somewhat burdensome as we age—it is delightful that such a wonderful Hotel is located relatively close to home. We would love another opportunity someday soon!

    Comfortable Stay

    Stepping through the grand doors that instantly make you forget the city's hustle and bustle, you are greeted by a softly glowing chandelier and warm details in the ceiling and pillars, evoking the charm of an old European mansion. The staff's hospitality was evident throughout—from check-in to dining at the restaurant—with thoughtful attention to detail. The guest rooms feature a harmonious blend of classic and modern design. Relax on luxurious linens while enjoying a peaceful moment with sunlight streaming through the windows. However, only one bottle of mineral water was provided in the refrigerator; additional refreshments would have been appreciated. For dinner, we chose Chinese cuisine, which offered excellent flavors and service. That said, adding more creativity to desserts could enhance the experience further. A selection of light café-style snacks would also be a welcome addition. Overall, it was a pleasant stay surrounded by beautiful architecture and warm service.

    I was amazed by the Hotel, which was more luxurious than I had imagined. The Room was a twin room, but it was spacious and allowed for a comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    The best Hotel in Mito.

    I believe this is the best hotel in historic Mito. I always choose this accommodation during my visits home due to its excellent service. However, I noticed some disappointing aspects, such as peeling ceiling wallpaper (which could likely be fixed easily with a repair kit), worn-out hallway carpets with holes, and stains on the edge of the bathtub. While some of these issues may be due to aging, proper maintenance would ensure a stay that matches the accommodation fee. As a historic and admired hotel, I sincerely hope it continues to maintain its high quality in the future.

    A chair was provided...

    A chair was provided in the bathroom, which was very helpful, likely because we mentioned that elderly guests would be using the facilities. During breakfast, there were some delays as the staff seemed unaware of the number of guests and there were no chopsticks prepared, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, everything else—from the exceptional hospitality to the Room—was top-notch, and I would love to stay again.
