    The accommodation was excellent in every aspect, including service, facilities, and the open-air bath.

    Newly renovated room with audio equipment, a large sofa, and even a sofa on the balcony. The amenities are well-equipped. The view of the Seto Inland Sea and Shikoku mountains from the room is stunning. The private open-air bath in the room is made of stone tiles, clean and beautiful, offering an incredible view of the sea. The hospitality was excellent, and meals featuring local fish and meat were highly rated. While the location, facility, and views were outstanding, it was the exceptional service that made guests want to visit again.

    I would love to visit again.

    I stayed in a suite room on the 7th floor. The luxurious red sofa, the ocean view right in front, and the onsen bath in the room made it an incredibly delightful stay. The washroom was clean, and all amenities were fully provided, leaving me completely satisfied. I only had breakfast, but it was very delicious.

    We had a pleasant stay.

    Meals could be enjoyed in the room, and the content was very satisfying. Above all, the smile of the woman in charge of serving meals was wonderful, and her service was truly pleasant. As I always think, while accommodations can be carefully researched and chosen, you never know how good the staff will be until you interact with them. If this review is seen by someone from the accommodation, please praise the woman who attended to us that day and encourage her to continue welcoming guests with her lovely smile. I would love to stay again if I have another opportunity to visit.

    I splurged on a stay at Aozora.

    The highlights were the open-air bath in the room (though it was a bit cold when entering as it's completely outdoors), the green juice smoothie at breakfast, and the yogurt and milk in the lounge.

    The dinner, made with local ingredients, was very delicious. Unfortunately, the bath towels in the bathroom had a smell like disinfectant, which made them difficult to use. Although it rained that day, the night view was beautiful when the rain stopped. The bath was also very relaxing, and I would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    Subject to weather conditions

    The accommodation day was rainy, so I couldn't enjoy the scenery. Even if the weather had been good, the terrace is fully visible from the upper floors, making it hard to relax. The meal was served in the room and was neither particularly good nor bad—just an ordinary meal. Since I had heard it would be a special Kaiseki course, I was very disappointed.

    I enjoy accommodations with open-air baths and in-room dining, and I have stayed here multiple times. I love being able to use the room's bath whenever I like, enjoy meals in the room without worry, and relax in the lounge. Depending on the room, some areas feel a bit dated. The bath in the "detached" accommodation we stayed at last year left quite an old impression. However, this time we stayed in a different room that felt more modern and comfortable. The service from the staff is fairly standard but not overbearing, which I personally appreciate—it works well for me. The meals can be hit or miss; however, this time everything was delicious. The staff member assigned to our room was efficient and attentive, making it a pleasant dining experience. I look forward to staying here again!

    It had been a while since my last visit to Awaji, and it was also a long time since I stayed at Plaza Awaji. I invited a friend and came all the way to South Awaji, but the unique silky hot spring water of South Awaji seemed to be missing. Additionally, the freshness I was expecting was not quite there this time, which was disappointing. However, the Facility has been upgraded compared to before! I was able to enjoy the sunrise early in the morning, and I am very grateful to the staff who assisted during that time.

    The noise from footsteps on the upper floor was loud.

    I stayed in a room at Bettei Sola -SOLA-. I chose the in-room dining course featuring autumn red sea bream, Ise lobster, and Awaji beef. However, the steamed Ise lobster was overcooked and had an unpleasant texture. The rice was also overcooked with too much water, resulting in a soggy texture. The serving was delayed to the point where I almost fell asleep waiting for the final dish to arrive. What disappointed me most was that there seemed to be many families with children staying, and the sound of running footsteps from upstairs was constant and very unpleasant throughout my stay. I made a reservation thinking it would be a quiet accommodation for adults to relax with an in-room bath and dining experience, but it seems more suited as an accommodation where families with children can stay without worry. Additionally, I noticed issues with room cleanliness. From the moment I entered the room, there were hairs on the tatami mats, sink area, and bathroom—making me feel that cleaning standards were lacking.

    First Trip

    We chose this place for our first trip with our baby. They provided a baby bath and bouncer, allowing us to stay comfortably and with peace of mind. Having in-room dining was incredibly appealing, as we could enjoy our meals at ease without worrying about others!

    This time, I used it for the first time with my sister, also to celebrate my birthday. It was her first time using it, and she was very satisfied with the hotel, food, and service.     It was excellent.

    This was our second visit to Awaji Island, and Hotel New Awaji Plaza Awajishima was excellent. The staff's kindness, detailed explanations, and thoughtful meal arrangements were truly impressive. The sunset scenery was absolutely stunning. The view from the bath was also breathtaking. We were so satisfied that my husband and I talked about wanting to come back again!

    Disappointing Hotel

    I have used the same Hotel through different sites several times. This was my first time at this particular Hotel. The food quality is considerably low. The staff are not well-trained, so they cannot provide basic services. However, their earnest efforts leave a good impression. Both dinner and breakfast were disappointing in terms of taste, presentation, and variety. This has never been the case at other Facilities of the same Hotel, which is truly unfortunate. The outdoor bath in the large public bath is murky, making it impossible to see the bottom. There are areas with varying depths but no handrails, which almost caused me to fall over. For elderly guests who might face accidents, I recommend installing handrails along with warning signs on them. "Hotel New Awaji" is one of Awaji Island's representative Hotels. I sincerely hope for improvements to be made soon.

    We stayed at the accommodation for our wedding anniversary trip. The room, the meals, and the view were absolutely amazing.     A Trip for Three Generations

    We stayed with our parents and grandchild. The staff were all kind, and we had a wonderful time. The meals were absolutely delicious! We wanted to finish everything, but the portions were generous, so we couldn't. Apologies for that. Our grandchild is already saying they want to come back next year! We look forward to staying with you again.

    Onsen Life in the Scorching Summer

    The climate in Hyogo Prefecture has been consistently hot, with no real summer retreats. Amidst this, we decided to spend some relaxing time at this Hotel located in southern Awaji. Having visited several times before, we were familiar with the place and could unwind comfortably. For dinner, we enjoyed the fresh seafood of Awaji while watching the sunset over Shikoku. The room's open-air bath had been upgraded to a system where temperature control could be managed with just a phone call, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant Onsen experience. The meals were always impressively elaborate and delicious; however, for us as a couple, the portions were slightly too large to finish completely. It would be appreciated if there was an option for smaller portions tailored to individual preferences. The breakfast buffet allowed for portion adjustments and was satisfying. Due to the intense summer heat during our stay, we couldn't spend much time exploring nearby nature or taking walks. However, enjoying views of Naruto Bridge from our room turned out to be surprisingly delightful. As it was peak season, there were many families staying at the accommodation, making it lively inside the Hotel. From the open-air bath while gazing at the sky, I noticed kites flying gracefully in arcs as usual—a common sight on Awaji Island where crows are rarely seen due to their presence. While soaking in warm water and relaxing leisurely, I spotted red dragonflies starting to fly above the forest nearby—an indication that despite record-breaking heatwaves continuing daily—the seasons are subtly changing. Next time around perhaps visiting during colder months would make for another memorable experience!

    Summer Vacation Trip

    Stayed at the annex. The air conditioner in the Room had a bad smell. The open-air bath in the Room was dirty. Staff service during breakfast was very poor. This year's Ryokan experience was disappointing due to overall low quality. I will choose another place from next year onward.

    It was disappointing.

    There were two flies in the Room even though the door was not open. There was a spider web in the open-air bath, but when we contacted the Hotel, they promptly came to remove it. The Awaji beef at dinner had tough sinews that were hard to chew, which was disappointing. It was unfortunate.

    I visited after quite a long time and was truly satisfied. The meals were delicious. Even though it was heavy rain, the open-air bath was wonderful. I definitely want to visit again when the weather is nice. The staff's service was polite and excellent. My friends who came with me also said they would love to stay here again if visiting Awaji Island.

    Birthday Memories

    We enjoyed a relaxing stay in a Room with an ocean view. Since it was not a busy season, we had the open-air bath all to ourselves and could unwind while gazing at the sea. The meals were delicious, and the staff provided courteous service, making our experience very pleasant.

    Hotel New Awaji Plaza

    This was my first time staying at Awaji Plaza, part of the Hotel New Awaji Group. The food and staff service were excellent. However, it was disappointing that the bath was far from the Room. Additionally, the changing area and large public bath were small, which was unfortunate. The view was fantastic. Only the bath was disappointing.

    It was my first visit in 16 years, and I was impressed that the experience remained as wonderful as ever. I was pleasantly surprised to find the morning newspaper service still available. It would be even better if tea could be enjoyed in the Room. I noticed many Hotel staff present at both the front desk and restaurant, which was surprising. In an era of workforce reductions, having staff stationed at the entrance was another delightful surprise. In the evening, we enjoyed a stunning sunset view of Naruto Bridge, which made my mother very happy. The highlight of dinner included exquisite dishes such as seasonal fish poêlé, hamo hot pot, and roasted Awaji beef with Japanese-style sauce. Even towards the end of our meal, thanks to the skills of your chef and culinary team, there wasn’t any heaviness or discomfort; every dish was deliciously finished. My 84-year-old mother usually has a small appetite but managed to finish everything! That’s how exceptional each dish was—from start to dessert—everything tasted amazing. The smiles from all your staff left a lasting impression on us. The breathtaking view from the open-air bath brought us peace and relaxation during our trip at ages 84, 62, and 58. It truly became a journey that healed both body and mind. Thank you so much for everything! My elderly mother thoroughly enjoyed herself; we look forward to visiting again soon!

    The Onsen you were looking forward to...

    I visited for the Onsen, but there were many insects, and dead insects were floating in the Onsen. A skimming net was provided, and it seemed like guests were expected to remove the insects themselves, but there were too many, and I couldn't fully enjoy the scenery. Also, it felt smaller than it looked in photos, which was honestly disappointing. The room was average, and breakfast was fairly good. Personally, I hope they improve the Onsen experience.
