    If you're staying in Fukuoka City, this is the Hotel you should definitely choose.

    I am originally from Fukuoka, but since my schedule didn’t align with visiting my family home, I stayed here for the first time. This is a prestigious Hotel that everyone living in Fukuoka City knows. While some parts of the Facility show their age, the service and overall atmosphere of the Hotel were excellent. (Personally, I prefer its ambiance over that of the recently built Hotel next door.) The breakfast buffet was particularly memorable with its made-to-order rice ball service, featuring fillings that truly reflected Fukuoka’s charm. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity.

    The charm of tradition is preserved.

    I had previously used the restaurant, but this was my first time staying at the accommodation. The calm atmosphere of Nishitetsu Grand Hotel remains unchanged, and I felt that the service and staff arrangement were exceptionally excellent compared to other hotels in the same price range. For breakfast, I was guided to a seat with a nice view of the courtyard. Even though it was close to 9:30, there was still plenty available at the buffet, and items running low were promptly replenished. While it’s true that some facilities like the bathroom are showing their age, I found it within an acceptable range for me. The charm of this long-established accommodation outweighs such minor issues. I would love to stay here again.

    The lobby has a pleasant atmosphere.

    The hotel is located in the center of Tenjin, but as it is not directly connected to the underground shopping area or shopping streets, it can be slightly inconvenient on rainy days. It is an established traditional hotel with a classic atmosphere. The entrance exudes a sense of tradition, and although the bar and breakfast venue are on the first floor, guests can enjoy a relaxing time while overlooking an unexpected courtyard for such a central location in Fukuoka. The rooms are old and similar in size to those of a Business Hotel. The bathroom facilities are clean but feature an outdated unit bath, and the interior design is also comparable to that of a Business Hotel. There were many staff members at the entrance; however, except for the doorman, they seemed indifferent even when guests appeared to need assistance. During check-in, I was told with a half-smile that "We are fully booked today," which I initially interpreted as meaning that breakfast might be crowded. Later on, I realized it meant early check-in or upgrades listed as Diamond benefits were unavailable due to full occupancy. While I had no issue with these benefits being unavailable because of full booking, their casual tone without any apology left me confused. I used both the bar and breakfast venue; overall, staff attitudes felt reminiscent of an older Business Hotel where customer service may not be prioritized due to steady demand. Breakfast was served buffet-style but had limited options without much emphasis on Fukuoka's unique offerings—neither particularly good nor bad for its price point. However, the atmosphere at the venue was pleasant. While reasonably priced considering its location drawbacks included—I would not choose this hotel again.

    Truly appreciated.

    Located in Tenjin, this accommodation is an excellent starting point for all destinations. Once the top-class hotel in Fukuoka until 1977, it still maintains its exceptional hospitality today. The bedside lamp shades in the guest rooms feature a stylish Hakata-ori design, though some corners are frayed with fibers sticking out. The lower part of the bathroom door shows signs of wear and tear with a wavy appearance. However, these did not bother me much as everything was kept clean and well-maintained, leaving a positive impression overall. I am grateful for such reasonable accommodation rates. The walls in the guest room are plain and feel slightly bare, but I appreciated the waffle-textured one-piece nightwear provided. The bathtub is short and fills up quickly to overflow when running water; however, two bath tablets were provided for guests to enjoy their bath time. The toilet flush sound is surprisingly quiet, which helps avoid disturbing others sharing the room—a thoughtful touch! (Although I initially found a single hair near the soap tray by the bathtub, I promptly rinsed it away.) I didn’t have breakfast during my stay but thought it would be nice if fresh orange juice was available to enjoy freely. It would also be delightful if they offered Crêpes Suzette prepared on a wagon right before guests’ eyes along with tea—not necessarily at breakfast time—making it worth visiting just for that experience! I will definitely consider staying here again first when visiting Fukuoka next time!

    The room had a lingering smell of an old building, as expected. It was near the elevator, and the operating noise of the elevator was noticeable. I chose it because it was affordable and in a good location, but only the lobby retained its former charm. As it used to be a symbolic presence in Fukuoka, it's disappointing. A complete renovation like that of Miyako Hotel might be better.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The Facility itself shows some age but was very well cleaned. The shower room was also clean, and the fold marks on the curtain made me think it is replaced every time. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, and I regret not being able to try everything. The staff were courteous, making my stay truly comfortable. If I had to point out one downside, it would be that my Room faced the road, and outside noises and conversations were so clear that it felt like the window might be open. This may bother some guests depending on their sensitivity or Room location.

    I felt relaxed.

    When I used to live in Fukuoka, I visited this restaurant several times on special occasions. I've always wanted to stay here someday. This time, I finally had the chance to stay. While the facility does show its age, the elegance unique to a long-established accommodation and the warm smiles of the hotel staff made me glad I chose to stay here. The room was clean with a calm interior design, featuring a spacious bed and a bathroom where I could stretch out and relax in the bath—perfect for relieving my fatigue from the heat. Breakfast was overall high quality, but I was especially satisfied with the freshly made omelets prepared by the chef right in front of me and rice balls made on-site. I enjoyed reading a newspaper in my room with takeout coffee in hand, relaxing comfortably until checkout. If given another opportunity, I'd love to stay here again.

    During my previous stay, I enjoyed the delicious breakfast and loved the Japanese-Western style room, so I decided to stay again this time. As before, I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room, and after a tiring day of walking, it was relaxing to unwind on the tatami mats. Bath salts were also provided in the bathroom, allowing for a leisurely soak. The breakfast was abundant with a variety of options including an onigiri station and seafood rice bowls—so much that it was impossible to try everything. I would love to visit again!

    I always stay at this accommodation when on business trips to Hakata. Occasionally, I bring business supplies in a suitcase and request Yamato delivery service. Even without providing any covers, the staff perfectly wrap the suitcase with great care. At first, I thought it was a one-time courtesy, but they consistently perform this meticulous task every time. This dedication reflects the exceptional service spirit of Nishitetsu Grand Hotel staff, creating a truly satisfying environment. Additionally, during my arrival amidst sudden heavy rain, I deeply appreciated the female bell staff who kindly wiped my wet bag with a towel while I waited to check in. The male and female bar staff on the front floor also went above and beyond by checking restaurant availability and à la carte menu options from another floor for me. I am considering entrusting our company’s kickoff meeting in 2026 to Nishitetsu Grand Hotel. Thank you for your continued excellent service!

    This accommodation is my first choice when staying in Hakata. It has a calm atmosphere with a sense of history. I also enjoyed the delicious hamburger at the bar. Although it is not part of a hotel chain, I love the restaurant in the basement as well. I look forward to visiting this accommodation again.

    Though the property is old, it boasts history and tradition with excellent service. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine care.     I was looking forward to staying at the accommodation again after 10 years.

    Ten years ago, during my stay, I was captivated by the majestic sound of the church bells across the street and found myself watching the bells sway. Hoping to see it again after 10 years, I requested a room with a view of the church in the special requests section when making my reservation and was looking forward to it. However, I was disappointed to be assigned a room on the opposite side of the street. Since it was a two-night reservation, my disappointment doubled. What was that special request section for? My husband said that perhaps the hotel deemed it unimportant, and I accepted that explanation. Thank you for your service. The location near Tenjin is quite convenient for various purposes.

    Despite arriving early, I was allowed to check in, which was a great help as it was cold and rainy. Even late at night, a charger was kindly delivered to my Room, showcasing exceptional hospitality.     The Best Breakfast Buffet

    The Room feels slightly outdated, and the carpet shows noticeable stains, which is unfortunate. Despite the efforts of housekeeping staff, it seems difficult to fully address these issues. Additionally, the amenities are quite minimal, and not providing a shower cap feels very inconvenient for female guests. However, what more than makes up for these shortcomings is the kindness of the staff and the excellent breakfast buffet. The buffet offers a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, including customizable options like seafood bowls and omelets prepared by chefs. The croissants and Schnecken pastries baked in-house at their bakery are of exceptional quality rarely seen at breakfast buffets—I found myself going back for seconds multiple times! This buffet alone might make me a repeat guest. The location is also highly convenient as it’s right in the heart of Tenjin, earning high marks overall.

One request: The access information on the reservation screen is clear, but it differs from the access details after completing the reservation. It would be helpful if they were consistent.     The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The Room had a spacious bathtub, so I enjoyed a half-body bath using the bath salts provided in the bathroom. However, the sheets were somehow dirty, so I’ll give it minus 1 point. The location is great, and the price is reasonable; I would like to stay here again.

    Located in the heart of the city, this accommodation offers exceptional convenience for any activity. After 20 years, I stayed here again and found that the interior had been renovated. It exudes a chic yet vibrant atmosphere, blending tradition and elegance seamlessly. Arriving early in Tenjin, I inquired at the front desk about leaving my luggage and was pleasantly surprised to learn that as a member benefit, I could check in early and even received complimentary baked goods. This unexpected service was a delightful surprise, and a staff member with a beginner badge explained everything thoroughly and politely. The high level of employee training was evident, complementing not only the elegant interior and exterior but also showcasing excellent service quality. The room was clean with sufficient space for a short stay. Amenities included non-synthetic body towels and bath salts, which were much appreciated. Additionally, there was a 500ml bottle of water provided in the room along with drip coffee packets. Both hardware aspects (facilities) and software aspects (services) were meticulously attended to, making for an extremely comfortable and satisfying stay. Although I didn’t have time to try the breakfast buffet on this occasion—despite its excellent reputation—I look forward to experiencing it during my next visit!
