    Many of our guests are from overseas, which may present operational challenges.

    I stayed again after a long time, but I arrived a little early and waited on the lobby sofa until check-in time. When check-in started at 3:00 PM, there was only one staff member at the front desk, and a long line formed. In the end, I had to wait more than 20 minutes to get in, which felt like very disappointing operations. I think staffing during check-in hours should be improved. Alternatively, since there is an automated check-in system, it should be made much smoother to use.

    Disappointed with the response when borrowing an umbrella.

    I stayed for one night from June 30. The next morning, when I went to a convenience store and asked the cloakroom staff member if there were umbrellas available to borrow, she did not smile and spoke curtly: “Are you a guest? What room number? Please return it here when you come back.” It felt as though she assumed from the start that I was not staying at the Hotel, which made me very uncomfortable. I don’t think the initial check was necessary, and I would have expected something more like: “Yes, we do. May I have your room number? Could you please return it here when you come back? Have a nice day.” Since I chose this Grand Hotel expecting a higher standard than an ordinary Business Hotel, this response was disappointing.

    It’s been a while since my last stay, but…

    IKYU Diamond member benefits such as early and late check-in were not provided unless I informed the staff that I was a member.\nGuidance to the parking area and the front desk service were both disappointing.\nI stayed for two nights, but the internet connection was slow and unstable, making it very difficult to work.

    A long-established, trusted Hotel

    Whenever I visit Hakata, I try to stay here whenever possible. My recent favorite is the hamburger served at the bar. I’ll be back again.

    It has a wonderful atmosphere with a calm, unhurried feel—I was reminded what a great Hotel this is. The neighboring international chain Hotel is nice too, but in the end, this kind of Hotel is more relaxing and comfortable.

    The smoking room was terrible—the worst.

    On my first trip to Kyushu, I chose this long-established Hotel expecting peace of mind and made a Reservation here. Unfortunately, the non-smoking Room was fully booked, so I chose a smoking Room—and that was a mistake. It was an experience I can’t believe still exists today. The moment I stepped out of the elevator, the hallway was hazy with smoke. Shocked, I entered the Room only to find that the windows couldn’t be opened and there was no ventilation fan—just an air purifier sitting there, with no indication of when its filter had last been cleaned. After dinner, when I returned to the Room, I couldn’t bear spending the night in it. Hoping at least to open a window, I called the front desk and was told that staff could come and open it using special equipment. After waiting a few minutes, they managed to create about a 10 cm gap so some fresh air could come in. But who would go through all of that? Most guests would simply give up—and if people smoke heavily in sealed Rooms like this, it’s only natural that the hallway fills with smoke too. The walls, bed, and pillows all reeked of cigarettes; it was harsh, painful, and extremely unpleasant. For reference: my companion uses e-cigarettes as well, but even he said it was unbearable and went to the designated smoking area instead. This is not a budget Accommodation by any means—so this treatment left me deeply disappointed.

    A Relaxing Hotel

    Since it had been a while since my last stay in Hakata, I chose a Hotel that felt convenient and reassuring. It was very cold on the day I stayed, so I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of bath salts placed by the sink. The staff were also excellent, and I’m glad I chose this Hotel. There were restaurants in the Hotel that looked delicious, but unfortunately I didn’t have time to try them this time. Next time, I’d like to stay a bit longer and enjoy dining at these restaurants as well.

    This is indeed a great Hotel.

    Because I was a Diamond member, they allowed an early check-in and upgraded my Room. The service was perfect! What concerns me is the lobby. There are three sofa sets, but there isn’t a comfortable space where you can sit and relax without stress. I always think it would be nice if there were a better solution.

    I stay here every time I return to Japan temporarily. The staff are very kind, and I always have a pleasant stay. It is a very convenient Hotel, close to the subway station and ideal for getting anywhere.

    I’ve heard this is a classic, well-established Hotel that represents Tenjin, Fukuoka, but…

    I had heard this was a historic Hotel in Fukuoka, so I was looking forward to my stay. I expected a good old-fashioned experience where I could feel the history. Instead, I was surprised to find a Hotel with a low service level that seems geared toward inbound travelers. The reception staff at check-in were at the lowest level. I had booked a Plan that allowed early check-in from 14:00, but when I arrived during the 14:00 hour, they told me—without even confirming my name—that “at this time we can only store your luggage,” and it felt like I was being turned away. Unless I explained myself that I am a Diamond member, they would not assist me; this has never happened before. Of course, I understand there are differences depending on the price tier, but in particular, a Multiple Night Stay coming from the neighboring Hotel is not something I can recommend. Rather than welcoming guests, it felt like they were simply processing people without any care. It was very disappointing. There are many Hotels with long histories that still take care of every corner of each Room and repair what stands out with attention and pride. Here, however, the Room—especially around the bathroom—simply feels worn out. The Room also had an old smell; it would have been better if there were no smell at all. Truly disappointing. Is the garden area near the first-floor lobby the only nice part? I was somewhat relieved by how helpful the woman at checkout was, but I cannot recommend a Facility where some staff are trying their best while others cannot provide even basic service as hotel professionals. Based on the service quality, it did not feel suited for Japanese guests. It’s such a shame, because there is also some charm to the atmosphere.

    Located just a 1-minute walk from Tenjin Station, offering an excellent location. The Room was comfortable and allowed for a restful sleep. The staff were attentive and ensured a hassle-free stay. Thank you!

    Curry for Breakfast

    I always choose the Grand Hotel whenever I visit Fukuoka. This time was no exception, and I had a comfortable stay. Thank you very much. The curry at the breakfast buffet was as delicious as ever. It was such a delightful moment to enjoy yogurt with real honey and freshly made rice balls while gazing at the waterfall and garden from the window seat. I'll definitely stay again!

    It is the dedicated support of our staff behind the scenes that ensures your peace of mind.

    During breakfast, I learned from a female staff member that half of the kitchen staff stay overnight, while the others arrive early in the morning to prepare for breakfast starting at 7:00 AM. Hearing this, I felt it was important to avoid leaving leftovers, express gratitude while eating, and say "thank you" out loud. Thanks to the support of many people—including facility maintenance staff managing electrical systems and air conditioning, as well as front desk staff on duty—I can enjoy a safe and comfortable stay.

    The Elegance of a Long-Established Tradition

    It had been decades since my last stay at this Hotel, which was once the most prestigious establishment in the region. The hospitality remains as attentive as ever, and while the architecture feels quite retro, its meticulous design details still vividly evoke the era when this was a grand dream Hotel. In the guest room, there was an easy-to-read analog wall clock placed conveniently for viewing while lying down, a perfect reading cushion alongside the pillow for bedtime comfort, and wallpaper inspired by treasures from Shosoin. These traditional elements that make staying here truly enriching are wonderfully preserved. The breakfast buffet was crowded due to the holiday season but featured carefully selected ingredients that left me impressed. While I imagine it may eventually require rebuilding someday, I sincerely hope this place continues to serve as an important venue to pass on its true Hotel spirit—cultivated over decades of history—to future generations in Fukuoka.

    The rooms of the traditional Hotel offer a relaxing atmosphere!

    I stayed for a multiple night stay (2 nights) to host a conference. The room and bathroom were spacious, the lighting was sufficient, and the quality of towels and hairdryer was excellent. There was even a newspaper service, which made my stay very satisfying. A small detail I appreciated was that the kettle cord was set up in a way that required no hassle. Despite it being a busy holiday weekend with many events, I could easily get a taxi both mornings without needing to reserve one in advance. Additionally, the staff guided me to the taxi, showcasing the hotel's tradition of excellent service—this left me very satisfied. Room cleaning is done every other day; however, towels, amenities (which I mostly brought myself), and drink supplies were replenished in bags hung on the door handle—a system I found convenient as I prefer not having staff enter during multiple night stays. One point of improvement: The showerhead was difficult to use.

    It is a good Hotel.

    This is a long-established Hotel with exceptional service. It truly lives up to its reputation. The price is high, so it's not easy to stay often, but it’s definitely a top-tier Hotel! Looking forward to staying again if the timing works out!

    Timeless Elegance

    I stayed for two nights. The transportation access was convenient, and the Room was compact yet comfortable. Compared to modern Hotels, some Facilities like the shower and closet felt a bit dated, but as someone who held my wedding reception here 51 years ago, it brought back nostalgic memories. I enjoyed spending time with a friend of 55 years. We had lunch at La Cascade, which was excellent in both quantity and taste—very satisfying. The staff's service was polite and made my stay pleasant. Thank you very much!

    Have a relaxing stay.

    This is my second stay, and I had a restful time again. Although there are signs of aging, the location is excellent, and the room condition is still acceptable. I plan to use this accommodation again for my next trip to Fukuoka.

    A Long-Established Hotel in Fukuoka

    Located in the heart of Tenjin, this Hotel offers an extremely convenient location for shopping and nightlife. As a long-established Hotel representing Fukuoka, the building shows its age but is well-maintained, and the lobby exudes a sense of grandeur. The staff at the reception and lobby floor were professional and well-trained, leaving a positive impression. The Room was a Superior Triple, providing ample space and comfort for three people. The separate shower booth and bathtub were a welcome feature, though having a separate toilet would have been even better. The breakfast buffet featured many local ingredients and was delicious. Despite the high number of international guests, the atmosphere was safe and pleasant, allowing for an enjoyable dining experience without any discomfort. While I personally would have liked more sweets, the bread selection, especially the pastries and freshly baked mini croissants delivered to the table, was exceptionally tasty. Considering the balance between price and service, I found this Hotel to be an excellent choice.

    Traditional Elegance

    The Hotel is conveniently located near the busiest area of Tenjin, with easy access by car or train. It has a classic and traditional charm. The breakfast buffet is of excellent quality, and every dish was delicious. The Room has a low ceiling and feels generally small. The bathroom features a retro-style bathtub. Would it be possible to add a large public bath somewhere?

    As expected, a long-established Hotel

    A serene Hotel that makes you forget it's located right in the heart of Tenjin. The main bar, Grotto, offers just the right level of attentiveness from the bartenders, who were wonderful. I opted for a stay with breakfast included and enjoyed a delicious morning meal.

    A Relaxing Bar and Delicious Breakfast

    A long-established Hotel in a convenient location. I visited the bar on the first floor at night, and it had a calm atmosphere which was very pleasant. The breakfast omelet was exquisite, and I could choose from four types of sauce to top it with. The seafood rice bowl and freshly made rice balls were also delicious. If I stay in Fukuoka again, I would love to stay here once more.

    If you're staying in Fukuoka City, this is the Hotel you should definitely choose.

    I am originally from Fukuoka, but since my schedule didn’t align with visiting my family home, I stayed here for the first time. This is a prestigious Hotel that everyone living in Fukuoka City knows. While some parts of the Facility show their age, the service and overall atmosphere of the Hotel were excellent. (Personally, I prefer its ambiance over that of the recently built Hotel next door.) The breakfast buffet was particularly memorable with its made-to-order rice ball service, featuring fillings that truly reflected Fukuoka’s charm. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity.

    I had previously used the restaurant, but this was my first time staying at the accommodation. The calm atmosphere of Nishitetsu Grand Hotel remains unchanged, and I felt that the service and staff arrangement were exceptionally excellent compared to other hotels in the same price range. For breakfast, I was guided to a seat with a nice view of the courtyard. Even though it was close to 9:30, there was still plenty available at the buffet, and items running low were promptly replenished. While it’s true that some facilities like the bathroom are showing their age, I found it within an acceptable range for me. The charm of this long-established accommodation outweighs such minor issues. I would love to stay here again.
