    The lobby and bath, ...

    The lobby and bath, with their slightly aged but historical design, were very impressive. The breakfast venue was spacious, offering a variety of dishes to enjoy. However, it was disappointing that the Room cleaning was not done despite specifying the cleaning time during check-in.

    There might not be a second time...

    In late August 2025, stayed in a Standard Twin Non-Smoking Room with a friend. The room was located at the far end of the 4th floor. Received a Noboribetsu souvenir set (wasabi pickles, canned venison curry stew, and Onsen bath powder) as part of Diamond Member benefits. Also enjoyed an extra hour for both check-in and check-out due to membership perks. **Room & Amenities: 2/5** No remote control for the air conditioner; while it worked, it wasn’t cooling effectively. No power outlets near the bed. Being at the far end of the 4th floor made access inconvenient. Poor view facing a parking lot; morning noise from cars was noticeable when windows were open. The refrigerator cooled well, and water pressure and temperature in the shower were good. **Service: 3/5** No particularly notable service. **Onsen & Bath: 3/5** Not as clean as expected; shampoo left hair feeling rough. Many mosquitoes in the outdoor bath area (rotenburo). A Hot Spring Tax (300 yen) is required even for guests staying overnight. Sulfur concentration in the sulfur spring felt weak. Sauna and rotenburo hours need to be checked as they are not available late at night. **Facility: 3/5** Ice was charged at 100 yen per serving. Only one washing machine and dryer available on-site. Vending machines had good variety, but smoking areas were limited to two locations (1st and 3rd floors), which could feel hot during summer. **Dining: Overall - 3/5 (Dinner - 2/5, Breakfast - 4/5)** Dinner wasn’t very enjoyable personally; water and tea were free but all juices and alcohol cost extra. Plates weren’t cleared promptly by staff, making dining space cramped. Breakfast was better than dinner with multiple juice options, milk, coffee-to-go service for rooms, unlimited salmon roe toppings, and several seafood varieties available.

    Large Hotel

    The Hotel is spacious and seems to carry the charm of its bustling days during the bubble era. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The bath temperature was perfect, but it felt a bit small. The buffet venue was impressively large, which surprised us. There were plenty of dishes to choose from, and we enjoyed them thoroughly.

    Good.

    The room was clean and well-maintained, allowing for a relaxing stay without worrying about surrounding noise. The front desk staff who welcomed us were very accommodating, and even the trainee handling meal times responded calmly and confidently, which was reassuring. The foreign staff members also seemed kind and created a wonderful atmosphere, making the customer service here stand out compared to other onsen accommodations.

    Hotel seen in Western Police

    The Facility shows signs of aging, but various efforts have been made to ensure a comfortable stay. The meals were particularly delicious. Additionally, the local souvenir provided as a Diamond Member benefit was the best among all Diamond benefits I’ve received so far. The parking arrangements, which I had requested in advance, were also well-considered, allowing for a pleasant experience. During the planning of this trip to Hokkaido, I happened to watch "Seibu Keisatsu" and saw your Grand Hotel featured in it. This made me want to visit so much that I canceled other reservations and changed my plans—and it was worth it! With a capacity for 1,900 guests, managing such a large Facility must be challenging; however, when visiting Noboribetsu again in the future, I would love to stay here once more. Thank you very much!

    Both dinner and breakfast buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, which was excellent.

    The salmon roe rice bowl at the breakfast buffet was delicious, and I had two servings. Considering the rising costs, I appreciate their efforts and don't want to say anything negative. Even if there are cheaper options elsewhere, the value for the price here is highly satisfying. This time, I didn't prioritize the view from the window and deeply regretted it, so it became a good experience for when I Reserve next time.

    Please improve the staff's service.

    The room was renovated and decent, but it was disappointing that there was no view at all. The amenities were fine, and as expected from Noboribetsu, the variety of Onsen available was wonderful. I also appreciated the well-thought-out slipper storage. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner with a wide variety of options, which was satisfying. However, while I understand that alcoholic beverages are charged separately, I found it disappointing that even juice required an additional fee. Having stayed at many accommodations like this before, this is the first time I've encountered a charge for juice. Even if not offering a wide selection, I would appreciate complimentary juice. The most disappointing aspect was the staff service. While we received a warm welcome upon arrival with many staff members greeting us (possibly due to handling group guests), during late check-out there were only two staff members present—one assisting another guest and the other giving me a hand gesture indicating "no" when approached (this person appeared to be Chinese). The second staff member seemed to be dealing with lost items but made no progress in resolving the situation. In such cases, they should either call for additional help or ask the guest dealing with lost items to wait briefly while assisting others checking out. Eventually, another waiting guest gave up after seeing no resolution and left saying "it's fine." This led to an unnecessarily long wait during what could have been an otherwise pleasant stay. I strongly hope for better preparation and response in such situations moving forward.

    A wide variety of Onsen baths—like a department store of famous hot springs!

    This was my third visit, and the free-flowing Onsen with a wide variety—sulfur, iron, and salt springs—was outstanding. The open-air bath is also equipped with relaxation chairs, so you can truly unwind. As expected, there were no “female heroes” jumping into cold water; plenty of towels were provided in the changing room, which was very convenient. The open-air bath in the Room also had beautifully clear water flowing directly from the source—it was amazing! One disappointment was that after leaving the large public bath at 9:50 a.m. and while I was changing, a bath attendant came very close and sternly said, “It’s until 10:00!” with a suspicious look. I understood, but it was unfortunate timing when I was feeling so good after such wonderful baths. Still, compared with large Facility properties where many Rooms are in the ¥10,000–¥30,000 range per night, this place feels like better value. I was also surprised by how many different dishes there were—you’re really putting in the effort. The 11:00 a.m. checkout benefit was much appreciated. I’d love to soak in these famous hot springs again someday.

    Possibly the best bath in Noboribetsu.

    The bath was excellent. The mix of Showa era and modern style was great, and it was spacious! Overall, it might be the best in Noboribetsu for me. If the meals were a bit more luxurious and had a sense of exclusivity, it would have been perfect, but they felt too ordinary.

    I was healed by the Onsen.

    I was glad to enjoy the Noboribetsu Onsen that I had always wanted to visit. The room we stayed in was newly renovated, so it was very clean. It felt very comfortable without feeling cold. After bathing, we enjoyed ourselves at the bar and were able to have delicious drinks, which was great. The disappointing point was that wet towels were placed all over the washbasin area of the Onsen, so it would have been nice if they could be checked regularly for a more pleasant experience. However, I think it's good value for money.

    The software has room for improvement.

    It was a long-awaited revisit, and I felt that the facilities had improved compared to before. For example, I was satisfied that not only bath towels but also face towels were always available for unlimited use in the changing room. The Onsen also has a well-equipped relaxation space, including a demon sauna, and you can enjoy various types of hot springs. The disappointing aspect was the customer service. I particularly felt the following: At check-in, the female front desk staff did not smile, and the explanation of the facility was simply to download a QR code, which felt impersonal. In the buffet restaurant, there was an initial drink order, and since it is a buffet, they should pay attention to the customer's reseating situation and serve accordingly, but a flat draft beer was already served. After reseating, they immediately came to ask for a signature, so they are concerned about customer movements. When I pointed it out, they argued that it should be ordered after reseating. It felt far from a facility that claims to be a guesthouse of Noboribetsu. There is a need for staff to monitor foreign guests' manners! For example, leaving unnecessary plates at the ice cream section or used tissues in the changing room sink without putting them in the trash requires staff to check when allowing foreign guests. The steak at the dinner buffet was served cold. It should be cooked considering the customer's queue situation. Check-out involves waiting, so it would be more efficient to prepare a separate counter for foreigners who tend to be slow and separate them from Japanese guests. Overall, the customer service was disappointing.

    The dinner buffet was excellent.

    [Non-Smoking] Stayed one night in a Comfort Twin. At 27 square meters, it was on the smaller side, so I was worried it might be cramped, but the layout was user-friendly, and I had a comfortable stay. There was a Simmons bed, a bathroom with a washing area, and enough space to open two large and medium suitcases. The key was a large one with the Room number on it, but it was auto-locking. In the large public bath, towels were provided, so there was no need to bring any from the Room, which was convenient. The open-air bath was nice. Dinner was buffet-style, and the steak, tempura, and crab were delicious. The alcoholic beverages seemed a bit overpriced. Breakfast was also buffet-style, with a decent variety of dishes to enjoy. The Shuttle Service "Yuyu Liner" was available, making it easy and comfortable to travel to Sapporo.

    The nature of the Onsen is very good!

    We stayed for our wedding anniversary! The room was very clean, as if it had been renovated, and had everything we needed, making it very comfortable. The onsen was fantastic and very refreshing. We would love to visit again.

    It truly lived up to its reputation as the “Guest House of Noboribetsu”!

    It’s a large property, and the interior was very luxurious. Everything was thoroughly cleaned as well. The Onsen water quality was excellent, and I really enjoyed it. This was my first visit in 40 years—haha. One request: On odd-numbered days, the bath area has as many as four cold plunge baths, so I’d love to see at least one set to a gentler temperature for women—around 22–23°C. (Tsukisamu Onsen has a source like that too, which makes it easier to use.) When relaxing on the outdoor bench, I could hear many guests coming from the large public bath yelping in pain from the hinoki or barrel cold baths, so I tended to avoid them since they were all quite cold. In the large public bath, the steam bothered me a little, but it’s spacious and offers many different types of Onsen baths—I liked it very much. I was also grateful for the Diamond Member benefits through IKYU. The café lemonade was delicious. At check-in, I was welcomed with smiles; everything felt flexible and smooth, which I appreciated. Both the building and my Room were kept extremely clean. I was also amazed by how huge and well-stocked the shop is—so spacious and varied that it might be among Japan’s best. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

    The room was relaxin...

    The room was relaxing. The food was good. I didn't have high expectations since it was a buffet, but the sashimi, steak, and teppou-jiru were all very delicious. Of course, the Onsen was also excellent. It was a wonderful bath. I definitely want to visit again.

    I felt uncomfortable...

    I felt uncomfortable with the reception staff's response at check-in. Is it because it's not a high-end Hotel that they don't focus on hospitality and customer service skills? I think a smile, a word after handing over the key, and a bow would be appropriate. I felt unpleasant right after checking in. It might have been just that person, but... Also, regarding the staff's response after meals in the dining area, I felt uncomfortable with their cleaning. I was concerned that they didn't pick up dropped or fallen trash.

    The room smells of tobacco.

    I used it 10 years ago and it was very good, so I made a reservation this time as well. It was a Japanese-style room, but there was a cigarette smell that seemed to be ingrained in the room, which was disappointing. The bath was very good. What I would like to see improved is the arrangement of the plates at the buffet. Even if there was something I wanted to take, there were no plates prepared nearby, so I had to move to where the dishes were placed, which was very stressful. Drinks at dinner other than tea, water, and coffee are charged. Popular items such as red-fleshed melons were gone quickly, and I thought they would be replenished, but they weren't, so I couldn't eat them in the end. I was recommended a later meal time because it was crowded, but I made a reservation because I could eat melons at the Grand Hotel, but the disappointment increased. However, given the price, it may be unavoidable.

    The new building is good,

    At checkout, I was told to just put the key in the box, but that was only for those who had completed the checkout process early in the morning. I ended up having to line up despite refraining from adding drinks to the Room. I was very disappointed, even though I was pleased with the comfortable Room and the wonderful bath.

    Family Trip to Hokkaido

    I stayed for one night during a trip to Hokkaido with my mother, who is over 80 years old. I have visited Noboribetsu Onsen three times in the past, staying at different hotels each time. This time, at Noboribetsu Grand Hotel, the bath was great, and the dinner buffet was enjoyable with lots of delicious food, which was very satisfying. The Oni Sauna, which I entered at night as a men's bath, was my personal favorite. The bath had sulfur, iron, and salt springs, making it a good Onsen. The parking lot was at the bottom of a slope, so moving the car and parking it close for getting in and out was a bit challenging, but it wasn't a major issue. The next day, we enjoyed Noboribetsu Hell Valley and the bear park. I would definitely like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

    I was able to relax and take it easy.

    The location was great, easily accessible by car, and conveniently within walking distance to various spots in Noboribetsu Onsen. Although the facility wasn't new, the renovated comfort twin room was clean and pleasant to use. The bath didn't feel like it was a natural hot spring, but there wasn't any major dissatisfaction with the water itself. There was an open-air bath with a waterfall only on the side with the demon sauna, which was atmospheric and nice. The only disappointment was the dinner buffet. There were many varieties, but perhaps because there were many guests and they had to prepare in large quantities, there were almost no dishes served warm or with a special touch that were impressive, which was disappointing given the expectations. I was also surprised that drinks other than tea, water, and coffee were charged. I thought the breakfast was quite good (and the drinks were free).
