    The proprietress’s s...

    The proprietress’s show is outstanding, and the Accommodation staff—especially the international team members—are wonderful. Seeing how hard they work was truly reassuring; this is an Accommodation you should stay at at least once. The baths are great too, with skin-beautifying hot spring water.

    This one-of-a-kind Ryokan exceeded my expectations—I was completely satisfied!

    The Onsen and the food were both wonderful. The staff were also very kind. The building is quite old, but it was thoroughly cleaned and kept very tidy. The Okami theater show was a lot of fun. It wasn’t a one-woman performance by the Okami; it was a show created together with many people. Many young performers around 20 years old also came on stage and showcased various acts with the Okami. It felt like they had practiced a great deal, and we were told they are all students from Yamaguchi University. We also heard that senior students teach the acts to juniors, passing them down over time. This is a Ryokan loved by the local community. It was an amazing, one-of-a-kind trip. I would love to visit again. It was my first trip to Yamaguchi, and it became a truly wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

    Room cleaning is...

    The assigned Room was very spacious, but the cleaning was poor, and we had to change Rooms. I understand the building itself is old, but I felt the Room should be kept cleaner. The staff were very polite, but when the futon was laid out during dinner, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Even though it was supposed to be non-smoking, it made it difficult to sleep. Since I had already complained once about the cleaning, I hesitated to say anything more.

    It was pretty awful.

    The food being bad may be unavoidable, but the overall quality is far too low. An old building and Facility may be unavoidable, but the patchwork repairs are poorly done. The service level of the man at the front desk on the night of the 6th, wearing an ochre-colored jacket, was poor. When I asked what time the futon would be laid out, he just made a call and pushed it onto the guest without saying something like, “I’m sorry, could you please speak with them directly?” Even after he finished and handed my phone back to me, he said nothing. Is it really okay to leave the front desk to someone like this? I probably won’t come again, and if things stay this way, I think you’ll only lose more customers.

    It was very unpleasant.

    A man entered the women’s bath in the morning. Even after I reported it to the front desk, they only said, “There should be signage; we’ll check,” and there was no explanation or apology at checkout. It was a very unpleasant Facility. The bath signs were “Hime-no-Yu” and “Tono-no-Yu,” not clearly marked “Women” and “Men,” so I don’t know if he made an honest mistake or entered for voyeurism. The man who came in did not even say “sorry,” which was very frightening. After that, the front desk acted as if nothing had happened, and I never want to use this Facility again.

    There are multiple banquet halls available for large groups, and every Room was lively and full of energy at this Ryokan. Guests were expressing their gratitude to the hostess for the attractions from the previous night, saying they would return again. A heartwarming Ryokan like this is truly rare these days.

    Stayed during the New Year holidays. The hostess show was enjoyable and satisfying, definitely worth seeing. However, while the building's age is understandable, I question whether the service matched the price of 60,000 yen for one night for two adults during this period. **Room Facilities** The refrigerator shelves were all removed, making it difficult to store food without stacking items. When attempting to use the humidifying air purifier, I found its filter covered in limescale, suggesting a significant lack of maintenance over time. **Meals** The breakfast variety was decent; however, portions like grilled fish were very small. Side dishes and food quality felt quite poor overall. There was a coffee machine in the dining area but not enough units for the number of guests—resulting in long waits. Bread was self-serve but came without butter or jam; eating it plain seemed to be expected... which felt disappointing. While these issues might be acceptable at regular rates, they fall short given peak season pricing. I don't think I'll return for a second visit.

    Stayed for 3 nights. The tatami room was not thoroughly cleaned, with dust accumulated in the corners, which was unpleasant.
