    It was the best accommodation I have ever stayed at.

    We stayed in a special Room with a semi-open-air bath. Our impression was very positive from the various emails we received after making the Reservation. The Room’s layout, interior design, and amenities were all of a very high standard. The meals were elaborate and made with high-quality ingredients; at first I wondered if I could finish so many dishes, but everything was delicious and I ate it all. The attendant was also attentive and made our stay very comfortable. I have stayed at many well-regarded Accommodations, but this one stood out as exceptional even among them. It takes a bit of time to get there from Tokyo, but it is well worth the trip. We will return.

    Attentive service

    I have visited Arima Onsen many times, but this was my first stay at this Accommodation. Overall, I was able to relax—time-wise, space-wise, and both physically and mentally. I arrived a little early for check-in, but I could enjoy tea and sweets in the lobby and spend time browsing the shop. The lobby also had a pleasant fragrance; it wasn’t overly traditional Japanese, but rather a more Western scent, which made it even more relaxing. Because my mother has trouble with her legs, we requested a table and chairs instead of floor seating, which was very helpful during meals. In the bath area, the changing baskets were spaced apart, so I could unwind comfortably. In the changing room, cold water and citric-acid water were available freely; discarded paper cups were cleaned up frequently as well—everything felt very pleasant. Used towels were also collected regularly, which was appreciated. The refreshments provided in the Room were available to enjoy freely, and since we could relax in the Room at our own pace, I think this place is perfect for those who want to enjoy the Onsen rather than focus on sightseeing. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and were delicious. If I may make one request: when enjoying refreshments in the Room, it would be nice to have a tray to place glasses and other items on.

    This was a great pla...

    This was a great place for a celebration. I stay at various Ryokan throughout the year, and since this is a cuisine-focused Ryokan, the meals were by far the most satisfying. Only the desserts left me wishing they were a bit tastier. The celebration cake was quite lightly sweetened and refreshing; I felt the cream could have been sweeter. The entire Ryokan was very clean and well maintained. The amenities were also good. The refrigerator was well stocked, including alcohol, and there were plenty of glasses. It was my first time seeing complimentary snacks to go with drinks. There were no separate pajama sets, and having only yukata these days was inconvenient. I was surprised to be told that separate pajamas cost 550 yen per person, as I haven’t encountered that elsewhere. If you can’t sleep in a yukata, it’s best to bring your own sleepwear. As others have mentioned, the heating was too strong and it felt hot. There were three heaters; even when we left only one on while sleeping, it was still hot. The air became very dry (the humidifier couldn’t keep up). Warm is better than cold, but... Next time I’ll turn everything off before sleeping. It seems they use Simmons beds, but Simmons mattresses are quite firm, so choosing them may not have been ideal. Sealy tends to suit more people and is easier to sleep on. Even though our Room did not have an open-air bath attached, it happened to be a day when the large public bath was almost private-use level quiet, so we could relax very comfortably. Because the food was excellent, I will definitely return. It would be even better if there were Rooms with an in-room open-air bath featuring Kinsen (golden hot spring water), but there aren’t many like that even in Arima.

    I stayed for one nig...

    I stayed for one night and was very satisfied. Everything was attentive, and the meals were excellent. My only complaint was that I couldn’t adjust the Room air conditioning, and it felt quite dry. It’s not cheap, but it was great for getting away from reality. I’m glad my mother, who came with me, said it was the best she has ever experienced.

    We stayed to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. On the day, you upgraded our Room, and we were able to relax in a spacious Room. You also kindly provided a complimentary cake, making it a truly memorable trip. The service from all the staff and the in-room facilities were top-class, and it was a very satisfying stay.     Despite costing over...

    Despite costing over 200,000 yen per night, the Room was only unnecessarily large, with no in-room Onsen bath, and the air conditioning could not be adjusted. It was so hot that we turned it off and slept with the windows wide open, but it became cold toward morning... The food was also not satisfactory.

    I have visited multiple times, and each time I am impressed by the attentive service provided by all the staff, including the attendants. The lounge staff also consistently pay attention to our pace and check in with us, making our stay truly pleasant. I am sure I will visit again many times in the future.     High-Quality "Just Right"

    The accommodation offered a "just right" experience with high quality in every aspect, including the building, furniture, the subtle fragrance in the hallways, tableware, meals, of course the onsen, and service. It wasn't overly assertive but left us wanting to return at some point. A place where you can relax and feel at ease. We had a wonderful time as a family. Thank you very much!

    Wonderful Accommodation

    We stayed at Arima Onsen for the first time as a family during the year-end for a multiple night stay. As many reviews have praised, we had an extraordinary and wonderful experience to conclude the year. From the staff's hospitality to the meticulous care of unseen parts of the facility, we felt warmth and attention to detail. We would love to stay again on another special occasion.

    Arima Onsen, your second visit accommodation!

    The warm welcome is exceptional! Room dining, which has become quite rare, is available. The silver hot spring in the private Room bath is amazing! The silver and gold hot springs in the large bath are wonderful! The gold hot spring was a bit small though.

    It was truly wonderful.

    It was a Ryokan that truly made me glad I stayed. The hospitality was exceptional, and the experience exceeded the price I paid. I had some slight concerns about regretting my decision since this stay was a bit of a splurge for me, but I can wholeheartedly say it was worth it.     Everything was satisfactory.

    To celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we decided to visit Arima Onsen after a long time. It was a Ryokan we had always wanted to stay at, and both the room and meals, as well as the staff, were wonderful. We had a very pleasant stay. When my husband mentioned during dinner that it was our 30th wedding anniversary, they kindly prepared celebratory red rice and even took and printed a photo for us. Thank you for your thoughtful gestures. It became a well-deserved reward for the two of us after 30 years together.

    A heartfelt accommodation where you can stay with peace of mind.

    At the beginning of December, I visited with my parents for a two-night stay. Even before our arrival, we received thoughtful care through phone calls and emails. During our stay, the staff accommodated all our requests, for which we are very grateful. Specifically, they adjusted the placement of the futons and scheduled cleaning times according to our preferences. They also provided hospital information when needed due to health concerns. The room we chose was spacious with two connected areas. The bedroom was completely separate from the main room, making it comfortable even for companions with different routines. While the fluorescent lighting in the room felt too bright for relaxing at night, we managed by using a smaller light. Both futons and beds were very comfortable and ensured a pleasant sleep. The bathroom facilities in the room were clean and well-equipped with amenities. We appreciated having a Dyson hairdryer as part of these amenities. However, my parents found it slightly inconvenient to use the toilet slippers due to their placement. Additionally, having separate-style sleepwear besides yukata would enhance comfort further. The Onsen allowed us to enjoy Kinsen water along with a sauna experience that was delightful. On minor notes: finding the door to access the open-air bath was initially confusing as it wasn’t prominent enough; also, there wasn’t much scenery visible from this bath area which was slightly disappointing. The shampoo provided seemed quite standard—perhaps more distinctive options could be considered here. As for meals described as Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine—they truly lived up to expectations! The flavors of dashi broth and fresh ingredients were well-highlighted throughout each dish served beautifully on both days without feeling repetitive despite being on a Multiple Night Stay plan! Particularly memorable dishes included kawahagi sashimi (filefish), simmered Kyoto duck in kudzu sauce alongside tender beef fillet steak—all highly praised by my parents too! Lastly but importantly—the high standards maintained regarding hygiene left an impressionable mark upon us—from thorough cleaning practices & consistent mask usage among staff members down-to providing paper towels within private restrooms plus ample sanitizers available everywhere around premises ensuring utmost safety especially valued amidst ongoing health concerns faced globally today! We look forward eagerly toward revisiting again someday soon should another opportunity arise!

    The rooms were clean...

    The rooms were clean with great views, and as expected from a long-established Ryokan, the hospitality was excellent. If I may suggest, for a Ryokan in this price range, the meals could have had a bit more creativity. That said, the Shuttle Service provided for both arrival and departure allowed me to relax and enjoy my stay. Thank you very much.

    Large Infestation of Stink Bugs

    Over 10 stink bugs appeared in the room. While a few were removed by the staff, more kept appearing, and we ended up having to deal with them ourselves. The staff's response seemed casual and accustomed, so it might be a common occurrence here. If it were just 2 or 3 bugs, we could understand since it's in nature, but if there's a large infestation, prior notice would have been appreciated. We felt uncomfortable and couldn't sleep well. Considering we paid about ¥90,000 per person for this stay—not exactly a budget accommodation—we were very disappointed with the overall experience including the response afterward. That said, the hot spring quality was excellent and while not extraordinary, the meals were enjoyable. Before encountering the stink bug issue, we thought it was good value for money and considered returning in the future. For those who don't mind such insect issues, this could still be a good accommodation choice.

    I felt very relaxed.

    Due to my wife's diagnosis of a designated intractable disease last year, long-distance travel has become difficult for her. This time, we decided to stay at Kinzan in Arima Onsen, which is close to our home. The food was incredibly delicious, the service was excellent, and we were able to relax completely. Three years ago when we visited Arima Onsen, my wife could climb Mount Rokko; however, now she finds it challenging even to walk around the room on her own. We don't know how many more years we'll be able to travel together, but we hope to continue traveling as much as possible. The room this time was spacious and easy for her to move around in with non-slippery floors—this was very helpful. However, I did notice a few things: the small steps and lack of handrails inside the room stood out more now than they would have when she was healthy. There were three steps—one before entering through the gate after getting out of the taxi, one at the entrance door itself, and one before entering our room—which proved quite challenging for my wife. While these may seem like minor steps for most people without disabilities or mobility issues, they posed significant pressure on her due to past experiences (she once fell over a step and fractured a bone). By the time we reached our room after navigating these steps without ramps or additional support features such as railings nearby—it left both physical exhaustion & mental stress evident upon arrival. Adding ramps where feasible along w/ extra grab bars throughout larger accommodations could alleviate similar concerns others might face too though understand not everyone shares same needs/preferences so take feedback lightly! That said overall experience remains exceptional thanks largely toward attentive staff efforts alongside high-quality amenities provided incl relaxing Onsen facilities themselves truly appreciated beyond words! Thank You again warmly recommend staying here future occasions ahead!

    First Arima Onsen

    This was my first visit to Arima Onsen. I stayed at Kinsan, which I had been curious about for a long time. The room was very spacious and had an indoor bath, allowing me to relax even during my short stay. It is conveniently located near the station, making it easy to find and return after exploring the onsen town. The meals I had been looking forward to were plentiful and absolutely delicious. The almond tofu dessert was so tasty that I would love to have it again. My partner loves saunas, so the fact that there was a sauna was one of the reasons we chose this place. The only downside, according to my partner, was that there wasn’t a cold bath available. Other than that, everything was perfect, and we would love to visit again!

    Approximately 10 years since the last visit to Kinzanso.

    Visited approximately 10 years after my last stay, right after my retirement at 60. After such a long time, my memories had faded, and it felt like visiting for the first time. However, the slight slope in front of the elevator, the garden view from the room, and the mountains of Arima Onsen reminded me that I was indeed here again. I was a bit surprised to find that futons had been replaced with beds. Now over 70 years old, I feel futons suit ryokans better for me. Since it was matsutake mushroom season, I enjoyed various dishes featuring them one after another. The spacious bath was delightful—Arima's onsen baths are truly unmatched! Although walking would have been possible, when I wanted to go shopping at Yumotozaka Street, they kindly offered a car ride both ways. Even after checking out and leaving my car in their parking lot while going out briefly, they generously offered transportation again—it was incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated! While wondering if it might have been an inconvenience for them, their attentive service left a deep impression on me. Thank you very much for this wonderful stay—I had such a relaxing time. I look forward to visiting again!

    It was a perfect and exceptional accommodation.

    We arrived early in the afternoon before check-in time and decided to explore the area first. However, all parking lots were full. When we tried our luck at the accommodation, they kindly guided us to the hotel's parking lot and even offered a ride to the central sightseeing area by car. Although it was within walking distance, their thoughtful assistance was greatly appreciated. At check-in, female staff dressed in traditional kimonos warmly welcomed us in the lobby, which was a bit overwhelming but delightful. The room attendant assigned to us was incredibly attentive and took care of us throughout our stay. The room, meals, and bath were all exceptional at this accommodation!

    A Perfect Weekend

    It was a sudden reservation, but it turned out to be the best two days. The clean room we were shown to had a minibar stocked with a variety of coffee, juices, beer, chu-hi, highball, and many other drinks. There were even snacks like cheese and salami. The meals were served in the room and consisted of freshly prepared dishes that were not only perfectly timed but also delicate and elegant—truly enjoyable for both the eyes and palate. The onsen was clean with a comfortably warm temperature that allowed for long soaks, making it very relaxing. What I appreciated most was having both large and small towels available in the public bath area. It meant I didn’t have to bring wet towels from my room the next morning—such convenience! (Of course, I used them responsibly without waste.) It had been such a long time since I could relax this much. Next time, I’d love to come back with my family. From our arrival to departure, we felt the heartfelt hospitality of all the staff members. Thank you very much!
