    Satisfied with everything

    Although we visited during poor weather due to a typhoon, we had a highly satisfying stay—not only with the Facility, but also with the Onsen and the cuisine. In recent times, as service styles have been changing across many Accommodations, we felt that this Accommodation is also committed to staff development through the attentive service we received. Hygiene was exceptionally well maintained, and even someone as particular as I am could stay with peace of mind. When we visit Arima Onsen again, we will definitely choose this Accommodation.

    Staff are required to wear masks.

    I wish I had checked the Hotel website in advance, but I was surprised that all staff were wearing masks. Rather than feeling clean, it felt unsettling. Outside of a pandemic, there is no solid basis for linking mask-wearing to infection prevention. If a staff member is suspected of being infected, only that person should wear one. The basics of hospitality are face-to-face service.

    The food was absolut...

    The food was absolutely delicious! I would have liked the amenities to be a bit more fully stocked. The staff were very considerate, and we had a comfortable stay, but since this is a luxury Accommodation, I would have appreciated not only a warm welcome on arrival but also a send-off at departure. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the food and would love to stay again!

    Utmost hospitality for a truly satisfying stay

    My spouse and I stay here every year, but this year we invited my elderly mother and came as three. The spacious Room on the 6th floor was our first time, and the view was wonderful and stylish. My mother loved it, and I am truly grateful that we were able to make a meaningful trip for her.

    A Luxurious Stay

    We stayed as a family of five with my elderly mother and aunt. The room attendant provided attentive service, and everything—from the Room to the cuisine—was wonderful. They were delighted, saying it was the first time they had ever felt so pampered. Thank you very much. The meals offered many varieties in small portions of high quality, and the overall amount was just right. Also, having an Onsen in the Room was great because we could bathe whenever we wanted. Everyone we interacted with, including staff we passed in the hallways, greeted us pleasantly. Later, we learned that you schedule regular closure days, and it made us feel that you are working not only to improve customer satisfaction but also employee satisfaction. Since the guest rooms were renovated during the COVID-19 period, it seemed that great care had been taken regarding hygiene. The entrance door and restroom door are automatic, so if you are not used to them, you may be a little confused at first.

    Exquisite cuisine and Onsen in a serene setting

    I hadn’t visited Arima Onsen for quite some time since the COVID-19 pandemic, but if I was going to return after so long, I wanted an exceptional place for both cuisine and Onsen—so I decided to splurge on this Accommodation. I had known the name Kinzan for years, but everything was far beyond my expectations, and my mother was absolutely delighted as well. This time we fully enjoyed the live conger eel kaiseki along with the Onsen, and if possible, we’d love to visit again during crab season.

    Dinner was excellent again this time.

    It was my first visit in a while, and the Summer Special Dinner Course was truly delicious. The ayu (sweetfish) and hamo (pike conger) were outstanding. Breakfast is also very good, but as a repeat guest, I feel the basics have remained largely unchanged for many years, so I would welcome a bold refresh. I was very disappointed when the experienced bartender retired last time, but I used the bar again on this visit. A young bartender in their second year made our cocktails; while the taste hasn’t yet reached the level of the former veteran bartender, we had an enjoyable time this time thanks to the service as well. I hope they continue to improve. One request: my wife and I are not comfortable sleeping in yukata, so we would appreciate it if pajamas could be provided as an in-room amenity. (The shop sells lovely pajamas—my wife bought some and uses them at home.) We would be grateful if you could consider this. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the food and service on this trip. We look forward to visiting again for another wonderful meal. Thank you for taking care of us.

    I stayed with my parents in their 80s, and overall the service was consistently reliable and reassuring. From the advance communication to the Shuttle Service arrangements on the day, everyone—from the staff in charge of our Room to the massage therapist—was courteous and considerate, making our stay truly comfortable. The meals were delicious, and the massages were excellent. While it is not a particularly new Facility, everything was well maintained and thoroughly cleaned, so we could use it comfortably in a clean environment. It felt like a long-established property that continues to update itself with the times.

    Enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay.

    I wanted to experience one of Japan’s three major Onsen areas.\nThe welcome was very kind, with both female staff and male staff in kimono greeting us.\nI assumed the Ryokan had both Kin-no-Yu and Gin-no-Yu, so I didn’t go out, but while Kin-no-Yu is in the large public bath, Gin-no-Yu requires choosing a higher-grade Room—so if you want to fully enjoy everything within the Ryokan alone, be careful not to choose the wrong Room type.\nThe service from the young male staff was pleasant, and I was able to spend my time feeling refreshed.\nThere is thoughtful attention to detail in the Room and bathing areas.\nIt may seem like a small thing, but it feels different compared with other Accommodations in a similar price range.\nThe Shuttle Service was also great—not a typical minibus, but an Alphard, which made it feel special.\nIt’s better to contact them upon arrival and have them pick you up.\nIt’s close enough to walk, but a touch of luxury is nice too.\nIf I have another chance, this is a place I’d want to choose again.

    A quiet, refined, and unforgettable stay

    At my wife’s request, we enjoyed our first Multiple Night Stay in Arima Onsen. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than planned, but were able to relax in the lobby with Japanese tea and traditional sweets while gazing out at the garden. The Room was spacious, and the view from the bath was stunning. The complimentary drinks in the refrigerator included Sapporo Black Label and Taittinger, and enjoying champagne while soaking in the Onsen was truly exceptional. Before we knew it, a gentle fragrance from an incense burner filled the air. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and both the property and garden were beautifully maintained. Everyone—especially our attendant—was impressive for their attentive service. We are sincerely grateful for such a wonderful time in every respect: the Room, the bath, and your hospitality.

    The cuisine was incr...

    The cuisine was incredibly delicate, and every dish was truly delicious. It was the perfect environment for a relaxing stay in. In addition to the extra-large TV and complimentary drinks and snacks in the refrigerator, we were provided with two yukata each (the requested sizes were perfect). With touchless automatic doors throughout the Accommodation, we were able to spend our time comfortably without any stress. We booked a Plan that included an esthetic treatment; it was very clean and extremely relaxing. Just one disappointing point: the open-air bath in the guest room. There seemed to be a cleanliness issue likely due to insufficient maintenance of the stylish faucet used for adding water, and that was very unfortunate. If that point is improved, it would be a truly wonderful Accommodation that we would definitely like to return to.

    Quite disappointing.

    I stayed here because the Reviews were good, but I was disappointed. What disappointed me: 1. I had a Reservation that included a massage, but I didn’t know the massage slots fill up so quickly. When I checked the day before, there were almost no openings left and I had to adjust my schedule. I wish you had informed guests at the time of booking that appointments book up early. 2. On arrival, guests have to park their own car in the basement parking area, even though there were open spaces in front of the entrance. Wouldn’t it make sense for staff to handle this? 3. Although my schedule was supposed to include an immediate massage after arrival, the attendant was unaware and not helpful. 4. There were welcome snacks and tea at check-in, but I would have appreciated having tea prepared once we arrived at the Room as well. 5. At dinner, there was a male staff member standing in front of the dining area, but he seemed distracted. When we tried to enter, he stepped in front of us and said “This way.” When I said “I thought you weren’t involved,” he replied with an excuse: “I thought you were customers for the shop…” An apology alone would have been enough. 6. The Onsen was average. 7. The food tasted average. What was good: 1. The garden looked beautiful after the rain (not really something controlled by the Accommodation). 2. The massage therapist was polite and did a great job. Overall, this Accommodation did not feel like good value for money.

    Completely satisfied with everything!

    From the warm welcome to the farewell, it felt truly special, and we enjoyed a genuinely comfortable stay from the moment we entered the Hotel until we left. The Facilities and amenities were excellent, and we were able to relax and enjoy everything right up until the 12:00 checkout time. In particular, the futon and pillows were outstanding, and we slept very soundly. The only thing that concerned us was that an occasional musty smell seemed to come from the closet area.

    It was great.

    For around 100,000 yen, having spa treatments for two, a spacious Room, and in-room dining is extremely good value. On top of that, the food was delicious and the staff were kind. I was surprised that the bed was electric. It was disappointing that the indoor bath was not an Onsen, but I would like to visit again, so I look forward to staying with you next time.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    From the Shuttle Service and hospitality to the amenities, this was a wonderful Accommodation. I would like to give a perfect score, but there was just one issue. I will tell the Accommodation directly, so I will refrain from writing it here. Other than that, it deserves full marks. If I visit Arima again, I would like to stay again and take my time next time.

    Thank you very much.

    This was our fifth stay. As always, we were very satisfied with the beautiful and delicious meals. We were also able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. Both of my parents are over 90 years old, and we truly appreciate you stopping the escalator for them so they could ride safely. One thing: the Room sofa feels like it slides forward, making it difficult to sit back comfortably.

    In Arima Onsen, Kinzan is the only choice.

    What I recommend most about Kinzan is the dining. The dinner in particular allowed us to fully enjoy seasonal flavors. After dinner, we enjoyed delicious drinks at the piano bar and had a wonderful time. The property was very well cleaned throughout, and it seems they pay close attention to hygiene. E, who was in charge of our Room, provided courteous service, and we truly appreciated all the help during our stay. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again.

    We were able to celebrate in a truly memorable way.

    We stayed as a group of four—three generations of women—to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. We had been looking forward to this wonderful Accommodation for months, and it exceeded our expectations with exceptional hospitality and thoughtful care that truly moved us. They even prepared a surprise commemorative photo session and cake for the celebration. They also accommodated a last-minute spa Reservation, allowing us to relax both body and mind. The Shuttle Service to the Onsen town was kindly provided many times, so my mother, who has difficulty walking, was able to fully enjoy strolling around. The facility was very clean, the meals were luxurious and delicious, and the staff’s service was attentive throughout—we had an unforgettable time. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

    A Relaxing Getaway for Couples

    Repeated stay with my mother

    I stayed here again because I was very satisfied with my previous visit. This time, I’m not sure if my Room was upgraded, but thanks to that I was able to relax and take it easy. Thank you very much. A 12:00 checkout is a big plus!! The food was also excellent, and the young woman in charge of our Room provided thoughtful service, which really impressed me. This time, I also made a Reservation for an oil massage. I didn’t have high expectations for a Ryokan massage Facility at first, but I was extremely satisfied with the skill level. The in-room drinks selection is well stocked and couldn’t be better. I heard that the seasonal kaiseki menu changes four times a year before I left. I’ll keep coming back to enjoy it every time.

    We stayed as three generations of our family. This Ryokan truly conveyed a spirit of hospitality, and every staff member was courteous and attentive. The Onsen was very relaxing, and all of the meals were delicious. When we mentioned that it was my mother-in-law’s birthday, they surprised us with a cake, which made her very happy. There were beautiful flower arrangements, and we were delighted to watch the irises bloom over time. We left something behind, but they promptly sent it to us. Thank you very much. This is a Ryokan we would love to visit again.

    It was a wonderful, relaxing accommodation.

    This was our second stay. This time, we stayed to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday and my daughter’s birthday, and we truly appreciated the surprise cake (it was very delicious) and the purple celebratory vest you prepared for us. You also arranged a Room right in front of the elevator, so it was really close to the baths and we never got lost. That was a great help for elderly guests, and for us as well—it felt like having a private bath in our Room because we could go in many times without running into anyone. The gold and silver hot springs were wonderful. The scent from the tea incense burner and the flowers in the Room were very soothing. We chose the small-portion kaiseki meal, but we were completely full, and as always, everything tasted excellent. The light seasoning was just right. The quality was outstanding as well. If I had to mention any drawbacks, the shampoo/conditioner amenities were not very good, and it was disappointing that there was no heating in the Room even though it rained and turned cold. I’m sorry for having made our attendant go back and forth so many times, but they were pleasant with a warm smile. Lastly, since I am a Diamond member and it was also the start of Golden Week, we received a fruit platter—and it was incredibly delicious. It was an Accommodation where everyone could be very satisfied. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

    Awesome!!

    It truly was a wonderful Accommodation. Every member of the staff welcomed us with such warm, genuine smiles—from the front desk to the lobby and café—and we were deeply impressed. Just as we had heard about this high-end Ryokan with fine dining, everything was delicious and the staff were exceptional. Although we didn’t mention it to anyone, my husband had just undergone throat surgery and is quite a picky eater, so I was worried—but he kept saying “Delicious,” and while he ate slowly, he finished almost everything. When I visited the spa as well, they greeted me with a smile even though it was late, and I was able to enjoy a truly relaxing time. I also left something behind in the salon, and they kindly delivered it all the way to our Room—I’m very sorry for the trouble. I have stayed at many Accommodations, but I truly believe this one is No. 1. It’s an Accommodation I would recommend to everyone. I think you’ll understand once you stay even once. This time we only had one night and it felt rushed due to my husband’s work schedule, but we still had a wonderful time. If we have another chance to visit Arima, we would love to stay again.     The meals are delicious.

    The Accommodation is located a little away from the downtown area, so it’s quiet and full of charm, and even though it isn’t far from the station, they picked us up with their Shuttle Service. Most guests were calm independent travelers, so we were truly able to relax. The Room was spacious, and the hospitality was attentive. Of course, the baths were excellent. The meals in particular—both dinner and breakfast—were delicious, showcasing high-quality ingredients and the chef’s skill. A highly recommended Accommodation in Arima Onsen.

    Disappointed

    We stayed to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday. We also stayed here two years ago for her 88th birthday and were deeply impressed by the heartfelt hospitality, so we chose Kinsan again this time. We paid a high rate and reserved a good Room, but the attendant assigned to our Room barely spoke to us and served the in-room meal while making loud clattering noises. We could not relax at all. It felt as if they were in a hurry—both at night and in the morning. They didn’t ask our preferences for rice and ended up piling it into our bowls without asking. They did not clear used dishes and left them on the table while bringing out the next course, then left everything there. During the meal they rushed around noisily clearing items, which ruined what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. The clattering was unbelievably loud. Shouldn’t used dishes be cleared before serving the next course? Even at an ordinary restaurant, isn’t that how a course meal is served? As for drinks during the meal, I had to prepare tea in the Room myself and also get juice ready myself. There was no sense of hospitality at all—only disappointment. And yes, we did give a gratuity properly. The service was far too poor. Our long-awaited celebration ended up being nothing but disappointing. We will never use this Accommodation again.

    It was the best accommodation I have ever stayed at.

    We stayed in a special Room with a semi-open-air bath. Our impression was very positive from the various emails we received after making the Reservation. The Room’s layout, interior design, and amenities were all of a very high standard. The meals were elaborate and made with high-quality ingredients; at first I wondered if I could finish so many dishes, but everything was delicious and I ate it all. The attendant was also attentive and made our stay very comfortable. I have stayed at many well-regarded Accommodations, but this one stood out as exceptional even among them. It takes a bit of time to get there from Tokyo, but it is well worth the trip. We will return.
