    An amazingly great-value Plan with breakfast and dinner, plus highly satisfying Diamond benefits

    I have stayed at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka—known as a quiet city Hotel rising on the Uemachi Plateau—several times before, but this time I found and used an exceptionally good-value Plan. It was a two-meal Plan that included not only the stay, but also a dinner course at the Japanese restaurant “Uemachi” and breakfast. As an Accommodation Plan, it felt like the meals were included for about one-third of the regular price, which made it an outstanding deal. The food itself was substantial and really boosted my overall satisfaction with this Plan. This time, with dinner and breakfast included, it came to around 30,000 yen. Considering the Hotel’s quality and the meal content, I think it’s a very high cost-performance Plan. On top of that, I received an upgrade to the executive floor as part of IKYU’s Diamond member benefits, and I was very satisfied with the room as well. With these perks included, it turned into a truly fulfilling stay. I also use Marriott Bonvoy, but in this case IKYU’s Plan—with meals and Diamond benefits—clearly felt like better value than making a standard Reservation through the official website. It’s a great example that booking direct isn’t always best depending on the Hotel. Due to Expo-related demand and inbound tourism, prices had been so high up until last year that it was hard to stay here—but this time I finally enjoyed great value again at my favorite “quiet city Hotel rising on the Uemachi Plateau,” making for a highly satisfying visit.

    Reservation with breakfast included

    The breakfast venue was spacious and laid out comfortably, so even though there were many guests, it didn’t feel crowded. There was a wide variety of dishes to enjoy, which was great. As for the Room, the washbasin area and bathroom were small and not very convenient to use.

    I arrived around 12:...

    I arrived around 12:00 and planned to leave only my luggage, but I was able to enter the Room, which was very helpful. However, I was a little disappointed to find trash left by a previous guest behind the Room’s air purifier. The breakfast rice was delicious. The staff were also good.

    I stayed here to visit a grave at Shitennoji Temple. Since a shuttle bus departs from in front of the Hotel, I chose it for easy access. The Room was clean and nice, but the bathroom and washbasin area felt a bit old. However, it was never unpleasant... It also offers direct access to Uehommachi Kintetsu Department Store, and it’s close to Shin-Osaka Station, which I found very convenient. I plan to stay again.

    Better than expected!

    I had errands in Uehommachi and debated staying at the Marriott in Tennoji, but choosing this place was the right call. It felt different from what I expected, and I was more than satisfied! The bed was very clean. The bathroom and toilet felt a bit dated, but nothing that bothered me. The amenities covered everything I needed, and if you need anything extra, there’s a FamilyMart nearby as well as Kintetsu Department Store.

    Plan with Breakfast and Dinner Included

    I used the Plan that includes breakfast and dinner. Both meals were very delicious. The service was also very courteous. Dinner was Japanese cuisine. The staff member serving us was quite young and very kind, but perhaps because we are not used to it, we felt a bit unsure and ended up being overly considerate. As an older guest, it was pleasant, but also a little tiring. In contrast, breakfast service seemed to be handled by more senior staff; I thought it might have been better the other way around. This is just my personal impression.

    A cozy Hotel.

    This was our second stay. My grandchild loves this Hotel. The staff’s consistently pleasant service is always so comforting.\nAnd the bed is very comfortable—when I asked my grandchild what was best about this trip, they said the Hotel. We were able to stay right up until the 12:00 p.m. checkout time.\nI wasn’t sure how to use the phone, and I couldn’t find the Japanese food section at the breakfast venue until later, so it would be helpful if these were easier to understand.\nThe location is also great—right at Uehommachi Station with a Kintetsu department store next door—so we can relax and enjoy our time. We will definitely stay again.

    While some parts of ...

    While some parts of the Hotel’s Facility felt a bit dated, the guest room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom and toilet in particular seemed old, but they were well cleaned, and the shower water pressure was strong enough, so there were no inconveniences. Breakfast was delicious across the board and very satisfying. The mini pancakes were especially tasty and left a lasting impression.

    I came to see a performance at the Shin-Kabukiza Theatre.

    As this is a long-established Hotel, it was great that amenities didn’t need to be picked up near the front desk, and there were plenty of towels. Although there was some dirt around the bathroom area, complimentary cookies were provided and they were delicious. It was convenient with direct access to Kintetsu Uehommachi Station.

    Thank you very much.

    I had used the restaurant before, but this was my first time staying at the Accommodation. Even though I checked in late, there were enough staff on standby, and I was guided smoothly without having to wait. The Room facilities were fine, and everything was thoroughly cleaned. Although my stay was short, it was very comfortable. I would stay again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much for everything.

    Directly connected to the station, very convenient. The hotel was spacious and clean. They were flexible in accommodating requests. I would like to stay again.

    Second time

    Stayed in early November for the first time, enjoyed the convenient access and comfortable Sheraton Club, so I stayed again. Initially reserved an approximately 24 sqm Executive Floor room but was upgraded to a Jr Suite at check-in. It was even the same room I stayed in before. Had breakfast at the Sheraton Club only. A variety of Japanese and Western dishes were available, and omelets were made to order—all delicious. I look forward to staying again next year.

    Good service, but the facility might be a bit outdated.

    The staff's response at check-in near the elevator was kind and pleasant. The room was spacious, and although there were signs of aging, it was clean and well-maintained. I chose this location for its convenient access to buses heading to Kansai Airport after check-out. However, the wooden door of the chest containing the refrigerator had a large splinter at a spot where my hand naturally touched, resulting in an injury when it pierced my finger. As I was departing for an overseas trip the next day, I couldn't visit a hospital, but my finger remained swollen throughout the trip, leaving me with a terrible feeling. Having such an injury from touching something is indicative of poor maintenance. I selected this accommodation because I wanted a good facility to stay with my mother and chose this hotel despite it being more expensive than others in the area during a sale period; hence, it was disappointing. That said, there are many appealing aspects such as excellent service from the hotel staff, proximity to buses for Itami or Kansai Airport, its calmer atmosphere compared to Namba while still having plenty of dining options nearby. For these reasons, I would like to visit again in the future.

    I used the Club Loun...

    I used the Club Lounge. Unlike many hotels nowadays, there were a lot of Japanese staff, which was rare. However, overall, there were few greetings or interactions from the staff, and the lounge felt a bit lonely without any guidance. In the morning, only one person greeted me with "Good morning," so it lacked energy to start the day. The cleaning staff left a good impression as they greeted me warmly when passing by in the hallways. I felt that more communication would have been nice. The Room was renovated and stylish without feeling old, which I appreciated. The food and drink options in the lounge seemed plentiful and were replenished quickly. However, while there was a variety of alcohol available, cocktails and highballs had to be made self-service style; not knowing how to make them led both myself and others to give up on trying. It would be helpful if instructions on how to prepare them were provided. Additionally, I forgot about it at first but realized later that I did not receive my Diamond Member gift this time—it was disappointing. I plan to use your Hotel again next year and hope these areas will be improved by then!

    First time

    It was my first time staying at this Hotel. The direct connection to the subway station made it extremely convenient. The check-in process was explained thoroughly, and the Room was impeccably clean with a luxurious feel. The Room had plenty of amenities and well-equipped facilities. I didn’t expect to have access to the Sheraton Club, but I could use it, and it turned out to be an excellent lounge. At night, I enjoyed sparkling wine with snacks, and in the morning, I had rice with a fried egg, sausage, salad, hijiki seaweed dish, and shiraae—all of which were very delicious. It’s a Hotel I would love to stay at again!

    Relaxing and satisfying.

    The Junior Suite Room allowed access to the lounge, which was fantastic. Both breakfast and dinner were thoroughly enjoyable. The afternoon was perfect for a relaxing break. Check-in took a little time as it took a while to find the reservation. Well, these things happen sometimes. However, compared to other hotels, it would have been even better if check-in could be done in the lounge—just a suggestion. The room was newly renovated and felt very clean. Occasionally, sounds from others opening doors or talking near the elevator could be heard inside the room. But since there were few guests on the same floor, it wasn’t much of an issue. The bed was Simmons as expected and very comfortable. Thanks to booking at a campaign price, it offered great value for money. If you are considering staying here, I recommend choosing a room with lounge access and one that has been newly renovated.

    The room facilities ...

    The room facilities are somewhat outdated, and there are many newer business hotels that are more modern and clean. The staff's service was occasionally disappointing. For instance, a professional baseball team was staying at the same time, which caused the lobby to be crowded with fans. This resulted in seats that should have been available for accommodation guests or hotel users being occupied. Additionally, there was a female hotel staff member who seemed to prioritize the players for the elevators, which gave an impression of favoritism (though I wasn't directly addressed, I overheard it nearby and was surprised). There were also groups of baseball fans looking down from the open second floor to the first floor, which was unpleasant. (Moreover, they seemed to remain in the same spot from around 5 PM when I left the hotel until I returned at 9 PM.) Furthermore, when I requested an amenity replacement, water was not replenished, which made me feel that the service was lacking in attentiveness considering the price and brand.

    Shin-Kabukiza Theater

    The building, guest room interiors, and furniture felt outdated. The bathtub in particular had scratches and black stains at the bottom, which made me hesitant to fill it with water, and it was also slippery and quite scary. The staff were generally professional and left a good impression, but there were some part-time staff? whose attitude seemed to harm the Hotel's image. Breakfast was a delightful mix of Japanese and Western options and very tasty. It was very convenient that the Hotel was connected to Kintetsu Department Store and Shin-Kabukiza Theater via a walkway. It was disappointing that Osaka souvenirs were not available (or very limited) at the Hotel or the department store.

    I stayed at the accommodation booked through IKYU to attend a party where I was the guest of honor, held in the hotel's banquet hall. While I greatly appreciated the service at the banquet hall and will refrain from harsh criticism, I found it stressful that there was no guidance on Diamond benefits, possibly due to automated check-in. Additionally, at the breakfast venue, juice and coffee were frequently "out of stock" (refills were significantly delayed), which was frustrating (this is my first time experiencing a coffee shortage even in business hotels). Last month, I stayed at Marriott Miyako Hotel, and last year at Shima Kanko Hotel; naturally, I couldn't help but compare them with this hotel from the same group.

    First time using it.

    Thank you for your hospitality. I stayed at the accommodation to coincide with a visit to the New Kabuki Theater. The location was excellent, directly connected to the station and close to the New Kabuki Theater. At check-in, it seemed that my room was not ready yet, so I was assigned a different room than planned. However, one of my requests, a "firm pillow," seemed to have been forgotten. It wasn't a big issue as it was just an optional request. The room had an unusual compact sofa, which I found interesting. The cleaning appeared thorough and satisfactory. Although there is an undeniable sense of age due to the building's years, I think it's a good hotel overall. While some areas like wallpaper and bathrooms were "renovated," they felt more like those in a business hotel, which was slightly disappointing. Room service ended early (by 9:00 PM), making it difficult for me to use it during my stay. I would like to stay here again when visiting for another theater performance!

    I prefer smaller hotels, so I was a bit worried that there might be many groups of overseas guests, but it was an unfounded concern. The service was courteous, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. I appreciated the 12 o'clock checkout time, and the breakfast and room service were very delicious.

    Booking

    There was a sense of discomfort with used toothbrushes and unexchanged cups in the washbasin of the Room we were shown to after using the self-check-in machine. When we spoke to the room keeper, it was discovered that there was a booking issue. Ultimately, we were provided with another Room and received breakfast vouchers, so I think the response was satisfactory. However, it took quite a while for the staff to inform us after the booking issue was discovered. I believe the first report should be prioritized, and it was very disappointing that it felt delayed.

    First Time at Sheraton

    I have been staying at club floors of hotels in Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. I had never been to the Sheraton Miyako Hotel before, so I experienced it for the first time this time. The lounge only serves alcohol from 5:30 PM, so I quickly wrapped up the afternoon and moved on to the evening time. Despite staying over the weekend, it wasn't crowded, and I could relax. Although there was only canned beer, there were various other alcoholic beverages available, so I had no particular complaints. There was a relatively large amount of food, so there was no need to go out for dinner separately. Since the building is not particularly tall, you can't expect a night view, which might be one less charm of staying on the club floor. Also, the entrance fee for the large public bath and sauna is quite pricey. I am a member of IHG but not a high-tier member of Marriott, so it becomes quite expensive. Well, that's the only complaint I have. It's good for a relaxing hotel life on the weekend.

    The noise from the next room is...

    Initially, I planned to stay for one night, but I made a reservation for an additional consecutive night. At check-in, the staff informed me that two rooms were booked, so I would need to move my luggage to another room for the second night. I didn't want to deal with such a hassle, so I requested to stay in one room for both nights. Usually, in such cases, the room should be set for consecutive nights without needing to ask. The room was renovated and clean, which was satisfying, but the walls seemed thin as I could clearly hear voices and noises from the neighboring room. I find this quite unacceptable for a hotel of this level.
