    Osaka Trip with My Daughter

    This was my first time staying here. The location is very convenient for sightseeing in Osaka, as it’s just a short walk from Osaka Station West Exit. I was looking forward to the breakfast due to its great reputation, and it did not disappoint—omelets were freshly made right in front of me, and there was a luxurious selection of seafood, meat, strawberries, melons, and more. Everything was absolutely delicious. The building felt a bit old to be honest, but with ongoing renovations, it should become much nicer in the future. I would love to stay here again!

    Great value for money

    This is my second stay this year for attending a seminar. It’s a bit of a walk from Umeda, but since it’s connected underground, it’s very convenient and you won’t get wet even on rainy days. I love the European-style design and the sufficient space that feels calm and comfortable. Considering the price, it offers great value for money. I’ll definitely use this accommodation again next year.

    First-time Use

    The hotel entrance is hard to find. When using the bath, the water temperature fluctuates and is not consistent. Compared to the facility in Osaka Kyobashi previously used, satisfaction is slightly lower.

    No longer in use.

    Humidifiers and filters are covered in dust. After using it for the first time in about 10 years, it feels less retro and more like an outdated, stingy Hotel.

    The 12th floor is adorned with serene mahogany tones.

    Thank you for always upgrading the room. After exiting the elevator on the 12th floor and walking through the mahogany-colored hallway, you will reach the corner twin room at the very end. When you open the door to the room, its layout is similar to that of the 13th and 14th floors. While preferences may vary, the mahogany interior provides a calming atmosphere. Thank you for offering such a relaxing space until waking up refreshed in the morning.

    A bit far from the station.

    The drop-off point for Osaka Umeda from Itami Airport is a bit far from the Hotel. The crowds make it feel even farther. The Hotel front desk is on the 8th floor, and all the staff were very polite. The Room seemed to be slightly larger than expected, but it was on the railway side, so I was worried about noise. (Earplugs are available at the front desk.) However, there wasn’t as much noise as I had feared. There were no welcome drinks provided, and when I wanted to have coffee in the Room, I found only instant coffee available, which was disappointing—drip coffee would have been appreciated. The shower pressure was slightly weak, but it was nice that unnecessary amenities weren’t placed in the Room (guests can request them at the front desk if needed). Many of the cleaning staff didn’t respond when greeted. The limousine bus stop for departure is conveniently located nearby.

    I liked the atmosphe...

    I liked the atmosphere of the Hotel, and the staff's service was excellent. The front desk service was handled by a person, which was appreciated for those over 60, yet it was very smooth and did not take much time. It was suitable for staying alone and relaxing.

    It's decent.

    I stayed here during a business trip. I'm not sure if it's family-oriented, but it's conveniently located near the station and offers good value for business purposes. The Room was quite standard, but I had no complaints. The breakfast buffet was delicious. I would recommend it.

    It was comfortable.

    This was my second stay. I usually can't sleep on soft mattresses, but Monterey Osaka is the only hotel where I can sleep well, so I want to stay here again. The room was not too small, the bathroom was clean, and it was very comfortable.

    Triple Room for Family of 4 (Child Sharing Existing Bedding)

    Stayed for one night during the Expo. When dropping off our luggage in the morning, we requested amenities for the child sharing existing bedding to be prepared in the room. The retro atmosphere of the hotel impressed my daughters. Thanks to a Diamond benefit, we were upgraded to a triple room on the 13th floor, but it seemed that there wasn’t much difference in room size. Although the bathroom and toilet were not separate, the showerhead appeared to be of good quality. It would be nice if makeup remover was included in the amenities. We received a facial mask by following their Instagram account. Our plan did not include breakfast, but based on reviews about its deliciousness, we added it later. We went around 8 AM, but many dishes had not been replenished at that time, which was disappointing (though they were restocked upon request). The kids loved the roast beef and had multiple servings. There were two types of sauces available for personal preference. The salmon roe, spicy cod roe, and fruits were freshly cut and tasted great!

    This is my fifth stay this year...

    This year marks my fifth stay, and I sincerely appreciate the room upgrade provided as part of the Diamond Member benefits. The room was on the opposite side of the Corner Twin Room I stayed in previously, offering a different view from the bay window where I could enjoy watching trains arrive and depart at JR Osaka Station—it was truly delightful. As always, the retro-style room exudes warmth with its wooden touches, providing a sense of comfort that contrasts with the impersonal feel often found in modern hotels. I look forward to staying again on November 5th. Thank you in advance for your hospitality. P.S. One small note: while I love the classic elevator's ambiance, would it be possible to remove some of the fingerprint marks on its floor indicator panel using something like metal polish? I find myself resisting an urge to wipe it with my handkerchief (laughs). Your consideration would be greatly appreciated!

    Quite an old Hotel

    An old Hotel, reminiscent of the Showa era. The convenience was excellent. Hotels in Osaka were expensive during this period, so this one is relatively reasonable.

    Affordable, but nothing special.

    The exterior and interior have a unique and nice atmosphere, but the Room feels old. While there are no cleaning issues, it doesn't feel particularly clean. The elevator is slow and frustrating from the moment you enter, and combined with the narrow counter, guests who arrive later can check in first, which is very disappointing.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    During the day, I visited the Osaka Expo, and at night, I attended a live performance by my favorite artist, which was the main event. Since that was my plan, I arrived at the Hotel much earlier than check-in time, in the morning. I immediately had my luggage stored and was kindly given detailed directions to the shuttle bus stop. After returning from the Expo, I checked in. The process was handled politely and efficiently. I entered my Room and took a shower. Before heading out again, I could relax comfortably in the Room with its perfectly firm bed—it was so comfortable that it felt like I might oversleep! After returning from the live performance later that night, I took another shower and used the pajamas provided by the Hotel. They were more comfortable than expected—so much so that if possible, I'd love to purchase them! Simple yet easy to wear—just what you want in pajamas. Since breakfast was included with my stay, I headed straight to their buffet in the morning. The menu variety, portion sizes, and service were not overly extravagant but simple and delightful. The fruits were especially delicious. Although it was a short stay overall, it was very comfortable. I'd love to use this Hotel again for my next visit to Osaka! Thank you very much!

    Expo

    We stayed here with our family for the first time in a while to visit the Expo. We were surprised that the underground is connected to Umeda! The breakfast was delicious, and it made for a very satisfying trip. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

    As always, the front desk staff are cheerful and...

    The day I checked in was slightly cooler after consecutive days of intense heat, but the lingering summer heat was still strong. Upon arriving at the front desk on the 8th floor, I was comforted by the warm and welcoming smile of the staff as always. Thank you for kindly accommodating my requests with great care. The next day, I had an early morning meeting and had to check out at 7 AM, leaving this comfortable space with a heavy heart. I look forward to staying again next month!

    Conveniently located near Umeda

    The Hotel was in the perfect location as I had plans in Nishiumeda and Fukushima, and needed to go to Osaka Station the next day. It was also convenient to access through the underground passage. The Room with a double bed was spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed watching YouTube and appreciated the complimentary bottled water.

    The Wi-Fi in the Roo...

    The Wi-Fi in the Room was slow, making it inconvenient to send images via Line or watch YouTube. The Room's size and Facility are similar to a Business Hotel, providing basic comfort (the European-style interior might depend on personal preference). Due to its proximity to the train tracks, it may not be suitable for those sensitive to train noise during late nights or early mornings (though I was able to sleep). It took about 30 minutes to reach the Hotel from the Hankyu ticket gate as I got slightly lost on the way (I managed with Google Maps even underground). Since the front desk is on the 8th floor, retrieving luggage after check-out can be inconvenient as you need to go back up.

    Very disappointing service.

    Upon arriving at the reception on the 8th floor, there were three staff members at the counter assisting guests with check-in. Two rope partitions (in two rows) were placed in front of the counter, but there was no clear instruction on whether to line up in separate rows for each counter or form a single line. I decided to stand behind the guest who had arrived before me and waited for my turn. Later, another guest entered after me and was directed by a staff member to stand in the middle row, which made me think it might be separate lines for each counter. However, yet another guest came in and stood in an empty row. While waiting as my turn took longer due to delays with the guest ahead of me, I noticed that guests who arrived after me were being checked in quickly from other lines. Assuming it was indeed separate lines, I continued waiting patiently. Then a middle-aged male staff member suddenly raised his voice at me saying, "Please move to the middle row as we are operating a single-line system." This comment left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and upset. I responded by saying, "I have been standing here waiting for quite some time now; why are you only mentioning this now? Were you not aware of this earlier?" The staff member avoided eye contact with an embarrassed expression and did not respond further. This level of service is far from what one would expect from a first-class hotel and left me deeply disappointed. I had been looking forward to staying at this accommodation as part of an enjoyable trip; however, ending my day like this was truly disheartening. I sincerely hope improvements will be made so that no other guests have similar experiences moving forward.

    A Hotel with a great atmosphere!

    Thank you as always. This is my fourth stay, and it’s a very comfortable hotel. This time, due to a flight delay, my check-in was later than planned, so although I got a high-floor room as requested, it wasn’t upgraded to the spacious corner twin like last time and was instead a standard twin room, which was slightly disappointing. However, the room was impeccably clean, and I could sleep soundly without being disturbed by train noises. Last time the breakfast venue was on the 7th floor; this time it was on the 14th floor. I was delighted to see that in addition to Saga beef sirloin shabu-shabu at the live kitchen station, fried eggs were also added this time. The variety of dishes available made me eat more than I should have! My next stay will be on September 3rd; thank you in advance for your continued hospitality.

    Osaka Station West Exit

    One night in a twin room. It's a bit of a walk from Osaka Station and quite a walk from Hankyu Umeda, so please take note. From Osaka Station, it's recommended to go through the newly opened west exit, pass through KITTE, and head to the basement floor. Surprisingly, there are few convenience stores nearby. The room feels like a good standard for business use. The train tracks are close by, and earplugs are available at the front desk; however, the noise is not particularly noticeable—most people might not even notice it.

    Satisfied with the clean and tidy Room!!

    This was my second stay following the one on 7/10. This time, I fully utilized the Diamond Member benefits, including early check-in, late check-out (allowing me to attend a web meeting in the room), and an upgrade to a corner twin room. The room felt more spacious, possibly due to having two windows, and it was exceptionally clean. Earplugs were provided for those who might be bothered by the sound of trains running below the windows; however, with well-sealed windows, I slept soundly through the night. The breakfast menu offered a wide variety of options and was very delicious. One minor point is that there were no robe hooks in either the double room from my previous stay or this time's bathroom in the corner twin room. As a result, I ended up using two bath towels for evening and morning baths and felt slightly apologetic about it. I'm considering making another reservation for 8/7 soon, as this accommodation is becoming one of my go-to places during business trips to Osaka. Thank you again for your continued hospitality!

    It was great.

    I had a relaxing stay. The furnishings in the lobby and Room were classic and lovely. The faucet at the sink had a slight delay before water came out, making it a bit tricky to adjust the water flow, but it wasn't much of an issue. For breakfast, I was surprised to see the chef grilling steak—it was delicious! The location is also close to the station, so I would love to stay here again.

    Calm and relaxing atmosphere

    A charming Hotel with a calm, elegant, and classic atmosphere rather than the latest and most cutting-edge style. Conveniently located just a short walk from JR Osaka Station, making it very accessible. The Room was spacious, and every detail was of high quality—the comfort of the provided pajamas and the softness of the towels were particularly impressive.

    Unfortunately...

    I recently stayed at the accommodation. Everything was great, but unfortunately... At the parking fee payment area, there were two women smoking... Even though there was a "No Smoking" sign clearly displayed. They didn’t appear to be guests staying at the accommodation. Perhaps they were part-time workers or staff? As someone who dislikes smoking, it was very unpleasant for me.

    Breakfast is excellent.

    The children said they want to stay again just for the breakfast... Everything was delicious, and the dining area was spacious, allowing us to relax and enjoy. All the staff were polite and attentive, which we truly appreciated. It's also conveniently close to the station, so we'd love to stay here again when visiting the Expo.

    The classical ambiance was delightful.

    When I got off the Shinkansen, there was no sign for the West Exit, and I got quite lost. The sign for the West Exit only appeared when I reached Sakurabashi Exit. While this might be JR's responsibility, it would have been helpful if the hotel access information mentioned "West Exit (via Sakurabashi Exit)." The ground-level entrance to the Hotel was also a bit hard to find. The elevator and furnishings had a classic atmosphere that I really liked. Some may feel that the Facility is old, but I found its intricate design charming. The paintings displayed were also fascinating, as they seemed like part of the Hotel's interior design concept. The patio church was lovely as well. The steak served at breakfast was delicious too! Since it's close to Osaka Station Park, you can enjoy a nice walk nearby. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a classical ambiance at your own pace.

    Great value for money!

    The European-style interior and facilities are cozy. Even in a single room, the bathroom doesn't feel cramped, which I liked. The analog floor display in the elevator also adds to the atmosphere and is good.
