    Snow in Windsor

    Caught in unexpected heavy snow, I drove with slight anxiety. When I saw the bright lights of Windsor Hotel shining atop the hill, it was truly moving. The atmosphere of the room, Onsen, and lobby was impeccable! The Chinese cuisine we chose for dinner was especially exquisite! My wife insists we must visit again (laughs).

    Self-parking available in the underground parking lot.

    The guidance at the entrance is excellent, but I was told to turn left after going 200m downhill to enter the underground parking. However, I couldn't find any signs and relied on intuition to make the turn. Additionally, while there are directions from the underground parking to the lobby, there are no signs leading to the elevator beyond that point. This caused some confusion as other guests and I wandered around. Eventually, we found our way to the elevator but had no clear instructions for reaching the lobby. Relying on intuition again, we managed to get to the first floor and finally arrived at reception. On departure, I noticed a small sign indicating where to turn for underground parking placed high on a pillar; however, it is not visible from an angle when coming down from the entrance area. Other than this issue, everything about this luxurious Hotel was satisfying. Since these improvements seem achievable with minimal effort, I hope they will be addressed soon!

    The Chinese cuisine at Lavout was delicious!

    We stayed as a couple during a group trip and were so impressed that we returned individually six months later. The accommodation's excellent facilities and stunning views remained unchanged, leaving us highly satisfied. This time, we tried the Chinese cuisine at Lavout for dinner for the first time. The dishes were beautifully crafted with attention to detail in seasoning and presentation, using high-quality ingredients, and every dish was incredibly delicious. The staff's explanations were sincere and easy to understand, making it a truly memorable experience. Although it's difficult to visit frequently from Okayama, we hope to return again someday. Thank you very much!

    Dinner and breakfast...

    Dinner and breakfast at Gilligan Restaurant were absolutely delightful in both taste and atmosphere. Dinner was made even more enjoyable by the engaging conversations with the waiter and sommelier, while breakfast offered stunning views that make us want to return again.

    The Chinese cuisine was excellent!

    I am an IKYU Diamond Member, but this is my first Review. The location, Shuttle Service, and lobby truly reflect the elegance of a venue that hosted a summit. The Chinese dinner at Vu was exceptional; however, it was disappointing to see no other guests dining there. I hope it gets more promotion as it deserves recognition—refined Chinese cuisine that left us completely satisfied! On the other hand, the Japanese breakfast set felt lacking in creativity despite the quality of ingredients being evident. Adding items like congee or fruit after the meal would enhance the experience. - Yokohama S.M

    About Amenities

    The Room was clean and very comfortable. One dissatisfaction was that the bathroom in the Room only had Bulgari shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, which had a very strong scent and were not appealing to use, especially for women. They were also in travel-sized bottles. It would be appreciated if more universally usable products were provided.

    Choose a restaurant for dinner.

    The Hotel is generally luxurious and very nice, but due to its age, the hallways and Room wallpaper are peeling, giving the impression that maintenance is lacking despite its reputation as a high-end establishment. Considering the price, the cost-performance might be questionable. The king bed had an uneven surface, flat at the edges and raised in the middle, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. As for dinner, while I’ll skip the details, poor customer management and the low quality compared to a French restaurant at the same price led to a harsh evaluation. However, it seems that choosing the right restaurant could solve this issue. For those planning to have dinner at the Hotel's restaurant, I recommend researching beforehand. On the other hand, breakfast was excellent.

    Dream Resort Hotel

    I had the opportunity to stay at a dream Resort Hotel. The welcome drink service in the stunning lobby was lovely, though check-in took a bit of time. The facility showed some signs of aging, and as a Resort & Spa, the distance to the Onsen was too far, making multiple visits inconvenient. The half-buffet breakfast offered a very elegant experience. However, during check-out, I was charged again despite having paid in advance, which left a less favorable impression. The staff's service was polite and excellent. Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal, so I couldn't enjoy a leisurely walk, which was disappointing. If I have the chance to visit again, I would love to enjoy golfing next time.

    A bit disappointing.

    Pros: The lobby and the view are excellent. Cons: There is only one open-air bath, and the bathing experience was disappointing. I was also looking forward to the French cuisine, but it did not meet my expectations.

    Chef Sasaki is the best!

    La Voute's Nouvelle Chinoise is exceptional! I wasn't particularly a fan of "Nouvelle" cuisine before, but this was a revelation. The service from the staff was excellent, and above all, I was deeply impressed by Chef Sasaki's attentive hospitality and his detailed explanation of the extraordinary techniques. I sincerely wish to visit again just for this restaurant.

    With its stunning views, impressive architecture both inside and out, and a sense of openness, this Hotel offers an exceptional overall experience, including attentive front desk service and high-quality dining. Enhancing services and facilities such as the gym and television to cater more to younger guests could make the Hotel enjoyable for a wider range of age groups.

    Finally satisfied with the accommodation.

    An accommodation my elderly parents wanted to stay at. We stayed together. From check-in, we were delighted by the breathtaking view and welcome drink, and thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. In the morning, we experienced a stunning sunrise along with a sea of clouds, making it an unforgettable stay. Next time, I’d like to visit with my husband for golf or with my sons for skiing. Thank you!

    60th Birthday Family Trip

    We stayed at this hotel, where the Toyako Summit was held, for a family trip to celebrate a 60th birthday. The open and beautiful lobby offered breathtaking views of both Lake Toya and the sea. For our group of five, we initially reserved one twin room and another twin with an extra bed, but the hotel kindly upgraded us to a triple room. Thank you! In our spacious room, there was a congratulatory message for the 60th birthday along with a single red rose in a vase on the table. During dinner, we also received another message card and sparkling wine from the hotel as part of their celebration gesture—it was incredibly touching and heartwarming. They were very accommodating with dietary preferences, and every dish served was delicious beyond expectations. The bath area was clean, and it was convenient not having to bring towels from our room; fresh towels were always available no matter how many times we bathed. The bathrobes were soft to touch, making it comfortable to return to our rooms after bathing as well. Stepping outside at night revealed an awe-inspiring starry sky—it's been years since we've seen so many stars like that! It left us deeply moved. For breakfast, we enjoyed sparkling wine alongside choosing from five main dishes while other items were served semi-buffet style—all equally delightful! We also took time to stroll around the hotel surroundings and admired the enchanting view of Lake Toya. The soothing harp music in the lobby added further relaxation during our stay. Although check-out time is at 12 PM, we decided to leave by 9 AM for sightseeing but found ourselves wishing we could have stayed until noon because of how wonderful this accommodation experience had been. Next time, we'd love to focus on enjoying more time staying within this amazing hotel itself!

    Hotel with an Excellent Location

    There is a path right outside the Hotel where you can take a stroll and enjoy the scenery before sunset. From the Room on the Lake Toya side, we enjoyed views of the moon, constellations, and sunrise. While it is not a new building, both the Room and shared areas were well-cleaned, allowing for a comfortable stay. It felt satisfying to stay at such a nice Hotel with fresh flowers and thoughtful touches while keeping costs reasonable. The breakfast at the French restaurant was also excellent. The smiles of all staff members were wonderful—thank you for your hospitality. P.S. There is a sheep farm about 3 minutes away by car that was adorable!

    The Best Hotel

    My son and I traveled to Hokkaido and stayed at this Hotel by Lake Toya, which I had always wanted to visit. The place was very clean, and for meals, we enjoyed Chinese cuisine for dinner and a Western-style buffet for breakfast. Both had a great atmosphere, the staff were friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. The Chinese dishes were beautifully presented in a kaiseki style. In the morning, as I headed to take a bath, I saw an enchanting sea of clouds over the lake through the large hallway windows. By the time I returned, it had disappeared—it was truly breathtaking. However, the walk to the bath was quite long and challenging for me due to my leg condition. Still, it was such a wonderful Hotel!

    Wonderful Memories

    I chose this hotel for my accommodation at Lake Toya. I wanted to see the sunrise and sunset over Lake Toya and Uchiura Bay (towards Hakodate) from the hilltop. After sunset, the sky above Lake Toya turned red, and I captured some photos. I also checked out the spot where world leaders stood during the summit. I stayed on Tuesday night with a one-night stay including breakfast. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese cuisine (1F) or Western cuisine (2F). I decided on Western cuisine to enjoy my meal while overlooking Lake Toya and chose a window-side seat. The view offers a 360-degree panorama of Mount Yotei, Lake Toya, Showa Shinzan, Mount Usu, and Mount Komagatake in Hokkaido (towards Hakodate). I reserved a Premium Twin Room facing Lake Toya. From inside the room, I could only hear the sound of fireworks over Lake Toya but couldn’t see them due to trees blocking the view from my 4th-floor room—this was disappointing. The staff who assisted me were mostly Japanese and were very kind and attentive; their service was excellent. Although the accommodation cost was expensive, it became a wonderful memory for me!

    An extraordinary experience beyond expectations.

    Stayed on 9/5-6. The weather was unpredictable with rain and sunshine, but I enjoyed a unique experience with rainbows and a sea of clouds the next morning. The Facility is old but well-maintained. Unfortunately, the Room's window glass was dirty and fogged up, ruining the beautiful view. The bath "Yamasen" is compact and felt similar to a golf course bath (changing room, bathtub, washing area) with limited amenities. The bath was far from the Room, so I only used it twice during my stay; however, I was surprised that moving in bathrobes was allowed. Meals were delicious with seasonal ingredients from Hokkaido for both breakfast and dinner. The valet service left an impression as it's not something often experienced. I would like to visit again if given the chance!

    Family Trip

    Located on a hill overlooking Lake Toya, it takes longer to get there than expected. The building is luxurious, and the Room is spacious and very satisfying. Our whole family wants to visit again! One small downside was the net placed in front of the elevator hall stairs—it looked like something bought from a home improvement store, which was a bit disappointing compared to how wonderful everything else was.

    I stayed here a year and a half ago as well. The Chinese dinner on the first day, the sushi on the second day, and both breakfasts were absolutely delicious! I will definitely come back!

    Breathtaking View

    The breathtaking view was just as rumored. We enjoyed an exclusive viewing of the Perseid meteor shower. Some parts of the Facility are a bit dated, but the staff were polite, kind, and left a great impression. Golf was casual yet relaxing with stunning scenery. Managing such a large Hotel must be challenging, but we hope you keep up the great work!

    I created wonderful memories with my mother.

    We stayed at this Hotel for a Multiple Night Stay after attending the Nebuta Festival in Aomori. Although the weather was not perfectly clear, we enjoyed a mystical experience as if we were surrounded by clouds. The cool temperature was also very pleasant. This time, I stayed with my elderly mother, who is nearly 90 years old, and my husband. The Hotel left a great impression on us—it truly lived up to its reputation as an international summit venue. It was elegant and exceptional in every way. We also used the pool, where we could enjoy a stunning view of the lake through the windows, making for an incredibly luxurious experience. For dining, we visited both the Italian and Chinese restaurants at the Hotel. Both offered an elegant atmosphere and provided us with wonderful moments to cherish. They even accommodated special requests for my elderly mother, which was incredibly helpful. Since it was close to my birthday, my husband made a special surprise request on short notice that they graciously fulfilled—this meant so much to us! Traveling with an elderly parent can be challenging at times; however, thanks to the kind attention of your staff members, I was able to create precious memories with my mother during our stay. I am deeply grateful from the bottom of my heart for all your care and hospitality. Next time, I hope to visit again with just my husband!

    A sea of clouds was visible.

    We took our last flight trip before my wife gives birth. The accommodation we stayed at, which I had admired for a long time, had a wonderful lobby and room that did not disappoint. This is the perfect hotel where you can see the sea of clouds directly from your room, unlike other accommodations near cloud-viewing spots where you need to climb mountains early in the morning. Although it was cloudy and we didn’t expect much due to the season, we were thrilled to witness our first-ever sea of clouds together. Thank you for accommodating my pregnant wife with special care regarding meals and other needs. The Western-style breakfast was incredibly delicious, and I feel like we must return again to try all the main dishes available!

    The weather is unfavorable...

    The weather was bad, so staying here felt meaningless. The bath facilities could use some improvement. With only one open-air bath and about two indoor baths, it was quite disappointing for a Hotel of this scale. The hallway leading to the baths was very long, and while it's understandable that insects are attracted in the mountains, walking through an area with many bugs on the glass was a bit unpleasant. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately, the view was completely obscured by fog, which made it disappointing overall.
