    Excellent service, delicious meals, and a satisfying Room.

    This was my first time using this accommodation. The food looked great on the website, so I decided to stay here. As expected, the food was excellent! The dishes were creative, and I was satisfied with both the taste and presentation. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of Japanese and Western options, which made me very happy. The Japanese options had slightly more variety and volume, but as a fan of Japanese cuisine, it wasn’t an issue at all. I was also satisfied with the customer service and hospitality. I stayed with my child and had reserved without bedding or meals for them since they are a toddler; however, they provided a yukata for my child as well as kid-friendly plates for meals. It made me feel like they truly welcomed us as individuals. Regarding the room: although it was an "Omakase Plan," it was spacious enough! It felt almost too big for three people to stay in. Overall, I am very satisfied; however, I did find it disappointing that there wasn’t a coin laundry or an ice machine commonly found in hotels. Aside from that minor point, everything else exceeded expectations! All staff members left a great impression! I would love to stay here again next time!

    A Journey with Stopovers

    We stayed at the accommodation on our way back after leaving Aichi early in the morning with family, attending a memorial service in Ehime, and seeking relaxation. As per the reviews, both onsen facilities were charming and excellent, and the meals for both breakfast and dinner were extremely delicious and satisfying. The room's onsen also had an abundant water supply and was very enjoyable. However, after finishing dinner and returning to our room, we could hear loud noises from children in the neighboring room even from the hallway. While lying on the bed trying to relax, we were disturbed by constant vibrations from running around that seemed endless, which made it hard to feel at ease. We hope guests can observe basic manners during their stay. It was a trip filled with mixed impressions of being a wonderful accommodation yet having some disappointing moments.

    Highly Satisfied

    I visited on a weekday. I was able to enjoy the Onsen without any crowds, and the quality of the meals exceeded my expectations!! Since I have small children, I was worried about causing inconvenience during meals, but all the staff welcomed us with smiles, which deeply moved me! I want to visit again!

    For celebrating my parents' golden wedding anniversary

    I stayed here several times over 20 years ago, and this time, I returned to celebrate my parents' golden wedding anniversary. The room's onsen and bed were very comfortable, and the meals were excellent in terms of variety, taste, and portion size. The breakfast buffet was incredibly satisfying—among all the accommodations I've stayed at, it definitely ranks in the top 3! My parents were also very happy. I would love to stay here again.     Truly disappointing.

    Very disappointing. The hallway smelled bad. The meals were mediocre. It was a great Hotel when I visited 10 years ago. I came back because of the memories, but it was very disappointing.

    Kotohira Shrine Visit

    Stayed with family as it was available around Obon. **Good Points** - Smooth check-in - Spacious and clean Room - Refrigerator was cold - Fast elevator - Two large public baths, so no crowding - Complimentary post-bath drinks and ice cream service - Course meals were hearty and delicious **Disappointing Points** - Room had a musty smell of mold - Duvet and cover felt old, lacking cleanliness - Hair scattered under the sink in the public bath area; users should be more considerate too. - Appetizers in the course meal were overly salty snacks. - Serving pace was too fast, making it hard to keep up, causing food to cool down. - Since most visitors to Kagawa eat udon anyway, udon dishes might not be necessary. The staff serving us shared various stories, making the dining experience enjoyable.

The buffet offers a wide variety and is thoughtfully prepared, but it may feel lacking for adults seeking a more refined dining experience, while being convenient for children. Recommended for families with children as the main focus.

    Family Travel Satisfaction

    The staff were very attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Both the buffet and the welcome drinks were delightful. However, the underground bath felt a bit dark, and there was quite a bit of hair... That was the only downside.

    Stayed for one night in July on a Friday-Saturday with my husband and 2-year-old child. 【Positive Points】 - The service and hospitality of the Ryokan staff were excellent. They were kind to our child as well. 【Disappointing Points】 - We opted for late check-out (11:00 AM) by paying an additional fee so that our child could enjoy the garden pool, which operates only during summer, on the day of check-out. However, there were many leaves and insects floating in the pool, making it dirty. As a result, we ended up leaving the pool quickly because it was unpleasant for our child as well. It felt like there was no point in choosing late check-out, which was disappointing. Since more children are expected to visit during the summer holiday season, I hope that pool cleaning will be done more frequently and thoroughly. - We used a private bath included in a free-use Plan but found that the dressing room had no air conditioning—only a fan—making it very hot. Please take note of this during summer and winter seasons!

    Second time this year

    This is our second visit this year. In February, my wife and I stayed here and enjoyed the private open-air bath, meals, onsen, and breakfast—it was all excellent. This time, we came with my wife, my eldest son and his spouse, as well as our two grandchildren. We arrived at Okayama Airport, took a jumbo taxi to Okayama Station, rode the Anpanman Train to Kotohira Station, and then arrived at Kobaitei. We might even come back for a third visit this year!

    We enjoyed the best Onsen almost exclusively.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the splendid Onsen, almost like having it all to ourselves. No need to bring towels, and we could fully relax in the spacious open-air bath at any time without any stress—completely satisfying. This accommodation is also highly recommended for visiting Konpira Shrine. However, after getting sweaty from the shrine visit, I regretted not planning an additional night’s stay afterward. The meals were also delicious. Thank you very much!

    Recommended accommodation for guests with dogs

    The semi-open-air bath in the room and the cuisine were excellent. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful. There was a white bathtub for dogs, and it was delightful to enjoy the onsen together. The staff at Toraume-san and Koubai-tei-san were all very pleasant, greeting us warmly, speaking kindly, and providing detailed explanations—it was truly lovely. You can freely use the open-air bath, dining area, and shop in the adjacent main building as well. It’s a wonderful accommodation worth its price, and I would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    Delicious meals

    Even though we arrived two hours earlier than our scheduled time, the staff kindly took care of our luggage and car, for which we are very grateful. Thanks to this, we were able to visit Kotohiragu Shrine on the same day instead of the next as planned. After climbing the stairs on the shrine path and feeling exhausted, soaking in the Onsen was incredibly rejuvenating—truly reaffirming that an Onsen Ryokan is unbeatable! Dinner was absolutely delicious! I underestimated it because it was a buffet—my apologies. Considering how challenging it must be to prepare such a variety in these times, I truly appreciated every bite. Thank you for such a wonderful meal. The smiles and kind words from all staff members made our stay even more pleasant. Highly recommended accommodation—thank you so much!

    The meals were delicious.

    The view from the Room was disappointing, but the Room was clean, and the bathroom was also clean and nice. The curtains had low blackout capability, so it felt bright early in the morning. The food was absolutely delicious. It was buffet-style, but every dish was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were very satisfying. The staff were very cheerful and energetic, leaving a great impression.

    It was an accommodation that made me want to visit again.

    I stayed in a room with an open-air bath at Hana Club. The view from the room's open-air bath was fantastic, especially during early morning baths. The open-air bath on the first floor was also great. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent in terms of variety, quality, and taste. I would love to stay here again when visiting the inner shrine of Konpira next time. The parking lot was very convenient with no time restrictions.

    We were fortunate to...

    We were fortunate to have our Room upgraded. Despite being on the 8th floor, we stayed in a Japanese-style Room with an open-air bath that felt like having a private garden. Even after visiting the large public bath, we could enjoy another soak under the night sky whenever we liked. Meals were served at a lively restaurant where live cooking could be enjoyed, and the friendly, diverse international staff provided excellent service. It was truly a relaxing and elegant experience.

    An accommodation you'll want to visit again.

    My parents, who had stayed here before, highly recommended it, so we stayed as a family of six in two rooms. The accommodation was impeccably clean and well-maintained, and above all, the staff's hospitality was exceptional, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. Not only were the Japanese staff wonderful, but even the foreign staff at the dining area during breakfast and dinner spoke polite Japanese and left a very positive impression with their courteous service. When I asked about their background out of curiosity, they mentioned they were from Myanmar. During the recent earthquake news, my family couldn't help but worry about them and hoped their families were safe. The onsen and meals were excellent; we have nothing but great memories from our stay. As travel enthusiasts who revisit our favorite accommodations often while exploring various places, we will definitely choose this accommodation whenever visiting Shikoku again. Thank you so much for everything!

    The Room was very satisfying, and the breakfast was delicious.

    Thank you for preparing a room with a bed for my father who requires care. Additionally, when my father's condition suddenly worsened during the night and we needed to call an ambulance, your assistance was greatly appreciated. We visited as a way to relieve my caregiving mother's fatigue and as a gift for my onsen-loving father, but I regret that it might have been too much for him. I am very grateful that you prepared a spacious Japanese-Western style room for us. However, since the room was the farthest from the elevator, I wish someone had mentioned something like "This room is quite far from the elevator" or offered to prepare a wheelchair when they saw my father walking unsteadily with his cane. While it may not seem like much distance to others, it felt quite long for my elderly father who struggles with walking. He even murmured about the lack of handrails. Additionally, in the private open-air bath's changing area, which was narrow, my father—who needs assistance—fell down; having handrails there would have been helpful as well. Some guests may require similar care facilities like my father does. If possible, it would be wonderful if facilities could be made more accommodating for those needing extra care. The dinner and breakfast were very delicious. Despite causing some trouble during our stay, we hope to visit again as a family once my father recovers and is discharged from the hospital. Thank you very much for everything!

    Accommodation Overflowing with Hospitality

    Excellent hospitality from all staff members. Beautifully arranged accommodation, Onsen, and creative dishes by the talented chef! The experienced staff who served the meals provided heartfelt hospitality, cherishing each encounter with guests. It was a wonderful accommodation.     Thank you for upgrading to a spacious room. The staff's service was excellent, but the check-in process took some time, which was a bit inconvenient as my next schedule was approaching. Other than that, this is a highly recommended Onsen Ryokan.

    Wonderful Hotel! Very satisfied.

    Since it was my first visit to Kotohira-gu Shrine, I had no information at all and made a reservation at this hotel because of the high reviews on IKYU. The hotel was visible as soon as I walked straight from Kotohira Station, so even though it was evening, I arrived without getting lost. As soon as I entered the entrance, the hotel staff welcomed me warmly...I was deeply moved. While enjoying matcha and sweets during check-in, I found the room spacious and clean. As for dinner, without giving too much away (haha), it was amazing!! It’s the best among all my stays so far. The taste, service, and surprises! It made me want to bring my elderly mother along. The onsen's size and number were plentiful; I wish I'd checked in a bit earlier. The breakfast buffet was also incredibly luxurious from morning... On our way back without any reservation for transportation, thanks to the quick thinking of the front desk staff, we were provided with shuttle service to the station. Our legs were tired from visiting shrines so this thoughtful gesture made us very happy. I definitely want to visit again!!

    Dog-First Property

    Thank you for your hospitality during our stay. We traveled with my husband, two Chihuahuas, and our daughter. We are grateful for the comfortable experience. We were pleased that even with an extra person, there was a proper bed instead of a makeshift one. The staff's response to the dogs varied; some would talk to them while others remained indifferent even when making eye contact. Not everyone is fond of dogs, I suppose. The meals were well-presented and delicious, and above all, we were happy to spend time in the room with our dogs. Our dogs seemed excited and more affectionate than usual; they relaxed and slept soundly at night. However, as both my husband and I are nearing sixty years old, we worry about having to frequently go up and down the lounge stairs. If there was reciprocity allowing us access to the main building's lounge, we would like to try it out. We have used dog-friendly properties several times before including glamping. Since traveling with dogs means carrying more luggage, we felt that being greeted upon arrival with a cart is essential. At another facility (shisetsu), they promptly came to meet us at our car upon arrival which was very helpful. Some places provide special strollers for dogs which is very convenient. Please consider this as a reference. We designated this property through hometown tax donations (furusato nozei) and will use it again in the future; thank you in advance for your continued service. P.S.: Although it was mentioned as being membership-based (kaiinsei), there was no explanation about what becoming a member entails—is there something specific?

    Travel with Your Beloved Dog

    Stayed for one night with family and our beloved dog at Toranome. First, the meals were delicious, and we were captivated by the excellence of the cuisine. The Room was well-serviced in every aspect, and the open-air bath attached to the Room and the bath at Koubai-tei were clean, everything was simply amazing. I would love to stay again.

    I was able to relax.

    It was a clean Onsen, with a spacious changing room and a lovely, calming Room. The food was excellent, and the sashimi platter we ordered as an option for dinner was also good. Everything was at the right temperature. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety, including udon, curry, and rice with raw egg, making it hard to choose. The international staff were all proficient in Japanese and full of hospitality. I would love to visit again.
