    Halloween Event

    I stayed on Sunday with my wife and our 2.5-year-old son. We had stayed here nearly 10 years ago around the same time and were very much looking forward to this visit. The entire accommodation feels like a small town, fully decorated for Halloween. There are various activities available, making it enjoyable for children of all ages (and of course, adults too). The room was a spacious twin with a terrace facing the main street, providing a very comfortable stay. We participated in a Halloween event with our child, which many other families also joined. Guests can dress up in costumes for free, creating a festive atmosphere. In fact, many parents seemed more enthusiastic than their kids—something that made us smile wryly. For dinner, we chose the buffet option where you select your main dish while enjoying an array of buffet items alongside it. I almost ate too much from the buffet to finish my main dish! The soft-serve ice cream was excellent as well as the wine. Breakfast was also served buffet-style with both Western and Japanese options available; I ended up eating too much again because there were so many delicious local dishes on offer. After breakfast, we joined an exploration activity designed for young children in the forest area within the premises—leaves, nuts, insects... Our son was completely fascinated by everything he saw. Although we couldn’t participate due to time constraints this trip’s concept encourages guests arriving early or staying until late checkout maximizing enjoyment throughout their stay without getting bored even during multiple night stays! Now onto some minor downsides: While it was nice that they pushed together our twin beds Hollywood-style upon request—the gap between them had some hair/dust left behind which could’ve been cleaned better beforehand. Also considering how busy things get during peak seasons like Halloween check-in/out luggage handling took longer than expected but understandable under circumstances. Lastly though public bathhouse facilities felt slightly underwhelming given its distance from rooms still acceptable overall experience-wise yet noticed non-guests seemingly taking advantage freely perhaps regulars nearby community members? Despite these small issues pricing isn’t cheap however worth every penny spent definitely planning return visits future occasions!

    Positive Points Visiting on a weekday made the accommodation quite empty overall, allowing for a relaxing stay. The open-air bath in the forest was very pleasant, providing a soothing time surrounded by nature. At the forest attractions, there were staff members who kindly assisted children, making it reassuring for families. Concerns The quality of service did not match the price, giving an overall impression of low cost performance. Dogs were allowed in the morning buffet area, and there was a dog barking continuously indoors, which made it hard to relax. → While this might be convenient for guests with dogs, it created an uncomfortable environment for other guests. When consulting with staff about this issue, their response of "Does it bother you?" lacked consideration and was disappointing. ※ There were also very kind staff members present, which made this gap even more noticeable. The operating hours of each shop on Piman Street varied and were short. Additionally, there are few stores in the surrounding area; therefore, note that there is little to do at night.

    The bathing facility...

    The bathing facility was disappointing. Additionally, the entrance and front counter felt a bit unwelcoming. Since the accommodation on Peaman Street is separate from the main building, I hope services for Peaman Street guests can be made clearer. Overall, it was good, but considering the price, I am unsure if I would become a repeat guest.

    I have traveled to various Risonare accommodations as a self-proclaimed "Risonalist," and the final destination of my journey was unexpectedly nestled in the mountains. This place feels like the Avengers of the Risonare world, with an unbeatable lineup. The thrilling connection with nature reminds me of Atami's ninja training (athletics) in its adventurous forest. The scent of trees whispers "Return to the wild," just like Nasu. An indoor pool, "Il Mare," offers fun for adults that rivals Tomamu's massive wave pool. "But there's no blue sea like Kohama Island here," you might think. Too naive! Far too naive! Here lies a "sea of wine" at the bottom of your glass! The rich aroma crafted by local grapes will fill your heart, soul, and even liver with joy. And let's not forget about dining—your taste buds will surrender to an endless feast so delightful that your stomach cries out, "Enough! But more!" Risonare Yatsugatake is a paradise packed luxuriously with only the best elements from each facility—a true all-in-one haven where my journey ends for now... until I return again soon! If there’s one downside to mention: traveling by train can feel distant without a Shinkansen—it takes two hours from Shinjuku station.

    This is a highly rated Hotel.

    Everything can be completed around the Hotel, making it convenient for families with small children. The service is, of course, excellent, and the food is delightful for both adults and children. The only downside might be the bath. The outdoor bath is a bit small and operates on a time-swapping system, so our child couldn't fully enjoy it. We would love to stay here again.

    The pool is excellent, but the bath is average.

    We stayed as a three-generation family with a baby. The pool had an area suitable for small children, which our 2-year-old thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a warm pool, allowing us to spend more time comfortably with our 0-year-old. The room had a shoe-free design, making it safe and spacious for the baby to crawl around freely. The low beds made Child Sharing Existing Bedding safe and comfortable, and the provided blocks kept the kids happily entertained. However, accessing the bath required stepping outside briefly at night through a dark area that seemed buggy, which scared the children. While we did use it, it wasn’t particularly impressive; in hindsight, we should have just used the room bath instead. The meals were delicious and service was excellent as expected. Parking in front of the Hotel was limited; there were spaces available early in the morning but they filled up by late morning before opening up again later in the afternoon. Our kids want to visit again, but their grandmother feels otherwise. This Hotel seems best suited for families with small children. We plan to return when our youngest is older—just us parents and kids next time!

    Always comfortable!

    We stayed during the three-day weekend for Marine Day with our family. Although we have only stayed three times, we look forward to the variety of activities and the large wave pool. Each time, the children have fun while adults can relax in the great outdoors, leaving us very satisfied. There are two points I would like to suggest for improvement: 1. The lighting on the way to the public bath is dim, which even I, as a man, found slightly unsettling. It would be appreciated if you could brighten up the pathway or make the public bath itself more well-lit. 2. The bathroom and toilet windows in our room do not have screens installed. Ventilation is important, so it would be helpful if screens could be added to prevent insects from entering. That’s all for now! We hope to stay again when we get another chance.     Not suitable for families.

    Thank you for your stay. We apologize for the lower rating on overall service, as we were unaware that this accommodation is primarily family-oriented. Regarding customer service, it was disappointing that the explanation about the Room along Piman Street was unclear and insufficient even when we asked staff again. On a positive note, the meal at OTTOSETTE was excellent, and we rated this restaurant with 5 stars.

    Family-friendly and all-inclusive!

    We stayed as a three-generation family. As mentioned in the reviews, there were so many activities for children that even two nights felt too short! The Ilmare pool kept us entertained for half a day without getting bored. With float rentals and kind lifeguards, the whole family had fun. The kids were thrilled with the wave pool and slides. There was also a warm pool, perfect for adults to relax and warm up their bodies. The café at Ilmare offers alcoholic beverages as well. Grandparents enjoyed drinks by the poolside from noon and said they were very happy. Check-in is at 3 PM, but you can enter Ilmare before that time. We left our non-pool luggage at the front desk and checked in later. Although rooms are available from 3 PM, the front desk is always accommodating regardless of your arrival time. A shuttle bus runs regularly to take guests to a ranch with horses. While we didn’t try horseback riding, we petted them instead—the horses were beautiful. For dinner, instead of heading to Piment Street, we drove slightly further to a steakhouse near a roadside station where most restaurants were open on Sunday evening. Piment Street has small establishments like soba shops and pizzerias that seem accessible if you're looking for options nearby. After dinner, we all went to Mokumoku-yu hot springs. Although there was signage requesting children still in diapers not enter, some babies seemed to be present; it wasn’t clear what criteria applied. For breakfast, we dined at Waiwai Grill around 7 AM when it was quiet with easy access to food stations; however by 8 AM it became crowded both inside and outside reception making food selection more challenging. Breakfast offered both Japanese & Western dishes including Yamanashi’s specialty hoto noodles along with soft-serve ice cream & fruits—plenty enough for everyone! While drink cups took some time being replenished (we used coffee cups instead), staff ensured food items remained well-stocked throughout service hours. When kids got restless indoors—they played outside along paved paths under sunny skies running freely outdoors! On our second day—we enjoyed an aerial walk experience after making reservations beforehand gathering promptly receiving instructions before starting multiple rounds loved especially by younger ones! Free Striders bikes provided additional entertainment ensuring no dull moments during downtime either! Children aged four years+ could participate baking sweets though skipped this visit planning trying next trip ahead!

    Family trip, 3rd stay

    I visit every year. Previously, I stayed in rooms along Peaman Street, but this time I stayed in the hotel building for the first time. There were many families like ours, making it comfortable to stay. It was also convenient as it was close to the restaurant and lobby, allowing smooth movement! The buffet had a wide variety of options and was always very satisfying! This time, due to heavy rain, it was a bit challenging to move with children to Mokumoku no Yu. Also, there was no guidance on whether the drinks in the refrigerator were free or charged. My child almost drank one by mistake, so it would have been helpful if we were informed about this at the beginning! With plenty of activities and a pool available, you can fully enjoy your stay just at the hotel! It turned out to be a fun trip.

    5th Anniversary of RISONARE

    Every June, we visit RISONARE Yatsugatake during the off-season. It's the teru-teru bozu season. My daughter, who was 2 years old at our first visit, is now 7, and we've enjoyed activities suited to her age each time. We usually reserve through the official website, but this time we used IKYU.com as we had points to use. This was our first stay in a maisonette-type room, but honestly, rooms with a terrace at the hotel were much better! The maisonette felt old with many bugs; moving between floors via stairs was inconvenient. While it seemed spacious and open at first glance, I realized that smaller spaces can be more comfortable! (laughs) The meals were somewhat disappointing... The poolside café menu consisted mostly of burgers. Many guests likely visit the pool twice even during a one-night stay—having burgers two days in a row isn't ideal. Last year they offered pasta and curry as well; it’s truly disappointing this year. For dinner, since we got tired of the buffet option, we went to an Italian restaurant on Piment Street instead. The pasta, salad, and desserts were delicious! It wasn’t crowded either so it was nice to relax there. As for breakfast—the cafés opened late around 9 or 8 AM—so we opted for the buffet again. Unfortunately, my favorite potato waffles weren’t back on offer… The buffet menu remained unchanged from previous years. While tasty overall after five visits over five years—it’s starting to feel repetitive... Honestly speaking—we’re reconsidering whether we'll return next year...

    The Hotel I Wanted to Visit

    A hotel I had wanted to visit for a long time. I thought of going there for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. While searching on IKYU, I found a great deal and decided to go. The air was fresh, perfect for forest bathing, the interior was spacious, and shopping on Piman Street was enjoyable with delicious meals. Next time, I’d love to bring my grandchild along!

    Visiting on a weekday helped avoid crowds. The pool offers rental swimsuits, and the bath area is uniquely set amidst a forest, creating an interesting atmosphere. Dining options include various restaurants styled like an Italian town, with exceptionally delicious vegetables. We also enjoyed exploring the surrounding streets with rental bicycles. It was a fulfilling and enjoyable stay. We look forward to visiting again!

    It was our family's first time staying at Hoshino Resorts with two elementary school children, and overall, we were all very satisfied. The warm hospitality, delicious meals both in the hotel and on Piment Street, the thrilling wave pool, the large bath surrounded by trees that warmed us up, the stylish yet relaxing room with comfortable beds—all of these were excellent. However, since this stay was on the last day of a holiday period and offered at a significantly discounted rate compared to usual prices, I noticed a few points that could be improved for regular stays: - At check-in, we selected amenities at the front desk to bring to our room. It would be better if these were already provided in the room. Additionally, the quality of amenities felt lower than expected. - For family stays where pool use is common, it would be helpful to have facilities in the room for drying swimsuits. While it might be challenging due to room aesthetics, this addition would enhance convenience. - The focus on wine was enjoyable for adults; however, it would be delightful if Yamanashi wines could be offered complimentary in-room refrigerators. - If items sold at hotel shops were provided as welcome drinks or snacks in rooms or lounges beforehand, guests might find it easier to decide on souvenirs. - While child-friendly bath facilities were appreciated even without an Onsen option like carbonated baths variety range options added more spa-like experience depth possible improvement suggestion noted here too! - The gender rotation schedule for outdoor baths had women using them late-night & early-morning consecutively; alternating one session male-oriented balance fairness preferred request consideration suggested here instead! - Both kids adults enjoyed pools thoroughly though Mega Wave feature limited single morning session only increasing frequency recommended maximize fun potentiality further enhancement idea shared likewise! -Water dispensers cups placed changing areas post-swim hydration crucially important practical addition proposed thoughtful care guest wellness emphasized!     Is it because of Golden Week?

    Stayed for one night starting May 3rd. I understood and agreed to the 100% Cancellation Fee from the moment I made the Reservation a year ago. The cost was a little over 120,000 yen per night. The Facility is generally old, and the Room has a unit bath. It was on the third floor with no elevator. I recommend visiting outside of Golden Week for more affordable rates.

    Wonderful Sparkling Bell Pepper Street

    I have been visiting for 20 years. This year, the Christmas decorations on Peaman Street were also very beautiful and sparkling. When I visited the year before last, there was a food truck in front of Maruyama Coffee, and guests were served free houtou. The warm houtou was very delicious in the cold winter. I hoped there would be a food truck again this year, but unfortunately, it was a different menu. The deodorizing mist that was not in the room was delivered immediately after contacting. The breakfast was all very delicious, and the vegetables were shining. Mokumoku no Yu was not so crowded, and the starry sky was beautiful from the open-air bath. It would have been even better if it was an onsen. One negative point to mention is that the smell of disinfectant used in the Ilmare pool was quite noticeable from the moment I entered the front desk. It is popular with small children, so it is understandable, but it would be helpful if you could change to something with a lighter scent. Thank you very much for taking care of us again this time. Kobuchizawa will get even colder from now on, so please take care of yourselves and avoid catching a cold. Thank you very much. I will visit again.

    I used it for an important anniversary, but I was guided to the wrong Room... I understand that mistakes and accidents happen, but I didn't feel that the response at that time was very considerate, and I ended up spending my time feeling unpleasant and sad. It's not about the money (a discount on the Room rate wasn't even suggested), but I wish they had been more understanding of the fact that I couldn't stay in the Room I wanted, my plans were disrupted, and my time to relax was taken away. Moreover, there were many staff members with poor customer service skills, providing incorrect information or incoherent explanations about the Facility and services, and even leaving the credit card we handed over unattended while wandering around, which was quite surprising. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but it was a level of service I had rarely experienced. The pool, which my child was looking forward to, was very nice, and I think the overall Facility is good, but I don't think I want to visit again.

    There is an issue with the front desk service.

    I used it for a 2-night, 3-day stay this time. I was satisfied with the pool, activities, and meals, but there were many moments when I thought "huh?" about the front desk's response. At check-in I requested to have the bed placed against the wall because I have a small child, and was told it had already been arranged, but it wasn't actually done. I had sent a cardboard box in advance, but at check-in, they tried to hand me the box (size 140). In previous hotels, the box was either placed in the Room before check-in or I was asked if it was okay to deliver the received package to the Room at check-in, so I was surprised. At check-out I was asked what drinks I had from the Room, but they were not aware that it was free as an IKYU benefit. If I hadn't noticed, I would have been charged. I arranged to send a cardboard box, but despite it being size 140, I was charged the rate for size 160 and only realized after returning home. It's also my fault for not noticing immediately. I was satisfied with the Facility, but the front desk's response was not good despite it being an expensive Hotel.

    I had a great time~

    We stayed with two families. At the restaurant, they brought us plates for the baby and always responded with a kind smile. We were very satisfied with the meals, and I was delighted with the large selection of my favorite cheeses. It was a bit disappointing that the only room wear was a gown, and the layout of the hairdryer and lockers in the large bath was inconvenient. But since it's not a hot spring inn, it can't be helped. We had a fun holiday with the family.
