    An Unforgettable Escape

    This was my fourth stay. As the Hotel marks its 32nd anniversary, it holds special memories for me—I first stayed here 32 years ago. The signature Alivila scent helps me escape everyday life, and the view from a patio-side Room always lifts my spirits. Parasols and chairs are free for guests, and breakfast is truly delicious. Best of all, the bathroom and toilet are separate (I don’t like unit baths). I spent three days relaxing on the beach, and for lunch I went to GALA Aoi Umi.

    The Facility is significantly aging.

    The overall atmosphere and breakfast were excellent. However, both the Room and the Facility are quite outdated. In particular, the mold in the bathroom was unacceptable.

    The finest hospitality that truly moved me from the heart

    This stay was truly a wonderful experience. I could feel the spirit of hospitality throughout the Hotel, and I was moved many times during my visit. I enjoyed not only breakfast but also lunch and dinner at the restaurants in the Hotel, and every venue offered delicious food with impeccable service. Each restaurant had its own unique character, yet everywhere I received warm and attentive hospitality, which left a lasting impression. The guest room was clean and comfortable, and thanks to the beautiful views and calm atmosphere, I was able to relax and forget about everyday life. The staff’s thoughtful attention to detail and natural smiles are what make this Hotel so special. This is one of the most satisfying Hotels I have ever stayed at, and when I visit Okinawa, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much for such an amazing stay.

    This is a highly satisfying Facility, so please maintain it.

    Alivila is starting to show its age, and I wouldn’t call it a luxury Hotel. However, the location is truly outstanding. The white sands of Nirai Beach are breathtaking. Age doesn’t matter here—and even if the Hotel were rebuilt, the view would remain. Many of the staff are very dedicated, and you can enjoy a pleasant stay from arrival to checkout. Breakfast is also delicious; I especially like Sawa. Even at the buffet where breakfast can be switched to lunch, having sushi available is appreciated. I’d like to stay a few times a year, so I’m already considering my next visit. (My main Hotel is elsewhere.) There was an online survey from the Hotel, so for once I wrote about a major complaint. Both my wife and I had the same issue at different times, so I described it in detail. Normally, given what was written, you would expect some kind of apology or follow-up—but there was nothing. It may be unavoidable, but not knowing whether it was ignored or simply not seen becomes a new frustration. Wasn’t that survey meant to address such issues? I will stay again, and I hope for improvements as well. I’m still a fan—nothing has changed.

    This was my second stay. Despite the unfortunate weather, I was able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time. I especially love Nirai Beach, and its close proximity to the Hotel is very appealing. The view from the Room was also amazing.

    Beloved Alivila

    My third stay. This time, I spent two nights at another Hotel before staying two nights at Alivila. The previous Hotel had great Reviews, so I tried it, but it just wasn’t for me. The moment I arrived at Alivila on day three and stood at the entrance, I strongly felt, “In Okinawa, it has to be Alivila—I'm back.” Right in front is the beach, the high ceilings create an open and airy feel, and all the staff are cheerful and kind. Their responses are clear and pleasant, and the food is delicious. Everything is outstanding. It was right in the middle of the rainy season this time, and it rained on the first day, but my stay still felt bright and refreshing. I’ll definitely be back again.

    The ocean view from the Room is amazing, and the Room is spacious—working while looking out at the sea was very productive. The sea is full of tropical fish, and the food was delicious; I felt truly refreshed!

    If you remember Alivila as it used to be...

    I’ve loved the hospitality of the Alivila staff and have stayed here every year. This time, what stood out to me was the number of foreign staff. It’s not that being foreign is a bad thing, but the Chinese front desk staff member was working hard to complete their tasks, yet I didn’t feel any warmth in their hospitality. They also didn’t check whether I was a returning guest and gave me a long explanation about the facilities. I rated service 3 stars, mainly due to two people: the staff member mentioned above and one Southeast Asian male housekeeping staff member who did not greet me when we passed each other. Aside from them, everyone else provided excellent service.

    A Wonderful Resort

    The Japanese staff member who assisted us at check-in was very pleasant and provided thorough explanations, giving the impression of a high-quality Hotel. The breakfast was more substantial than expected. However, because one restaurant was closed, it was extremely crowded. I’m not sure whether it was because we had a Reservation with dinner included or because our reserved time worked well, but we were shown to a calm table where we could dine comfortably and enjoy our evening. Overall, I felt this was a highly satisfying Hotel.

    Resort-like atmosphere

    Although the building and Facilities feel a bit dated, the staff’s hard work really came through, and overall I had a positive impression. The breakfast buffet was delicious, but it might have been even better with a bit more variety. Perhaps because it wasn’t peak season, some restaurants were closed, which was a little disappointing. There didn’t seem to be many in-Hotel entertainment Facilities or events, but that also made it a calm, adult-oriented resort. Lastly, the pool umbrellas were small and didn’t provide enough shade.

    A Relaxing Resort Hotel

    This was my second stay, and I was truly able to relax. The Room has a wonderful view, is clean, and very comfortable. The staff’s hospitality is excellent. The morning clarinet performance made this stay even more memorable.

    The ocean is right in front of you, and the view from the Room is amazing.

    I came back here again as a repeat guest. The Hotel is neither too big nor too small, making it a very comfortable Facility to stay in. It’s also conveniently accessible by limousine bus from the airport, so you can feel at ease even without a car. Whenever I visit, the garden is filled with beautiful flowers lovingly maintained by the gardeners. With a private beach and both outdoor and indoor pools, it’s perfect for me as someone who loves to swim. I’d love to come back again.

    Unfortunately.

    Regarding the service, I honestly wondered whether this Hotel is really part of the Okura Nikko Hotels Group. I think it would be better if the staff were a bit more friendly and smiled more. The room itself felt dated, but it was well cleaned. I wish the pool opened earlier—if it opened from 8:00, guests could enjoy it before check-out.

    Swim in April!

    We could see fish, the food was delicious everywhere, and the view from the Room was wonderful. It was an elegant trip.

    How about taking a break by the beautiful sea?

    Perhaps to reduce costs, the amenities had changed from before. For example, hand towels were optional. Even when requested, they were sometimes not provided. We had dinner at Sawa in the evening, but the menu has not changed from before; it might be a good idea to add seasonal local dishes. The food was delicious everywhere.

    Stay in a Corner Luxury Twin Room

    We stayed for three nights in a Corner Luxury Twin Room. The complimentary airport–Hotel Shuttle Service taxi was great—the driver was very kind. The view from the Room was spectacular, with a panoramic overlook of Nirai Beach. We also ordered the Birdcage Afternoon Tea at Ariacara; each item was carefully prepared and delicious, and the staff’s hospitality was outstanding, so we were very satisfied. For dinner, we ate at Verdemar and Sawa; both offered delicious dishes that incorporated Okinawan ingredients. However, it was disappointing that due to a front desk mistake, the Room was not cleaned even though we had requested housekeeping.

    First stay in 13 years

    This is our fourth stay at this Hotel—three times with our children, and this time as a couple. We have visited Okinawa many times, but it had been about 13 years since we last stayed here. I was a little worried after so many years, but the views, the building, and the atmosphere were just as moving as when we first came, which made me truly happy. All of the staff greeted us with warm smiles. Even with so many luxury Hotels in Okinawa these days, I love this one-of-a-kind Hotel more than any other. I was a bit sad that the shipping boxes for sending luggage no longer have the Alivila logo, but I was delighted to find that the herbal bath salts were still available. If I may add one suggestion, I would be happy if the breakfast menu could be improved a little more. Next time, we hope to stay at Alivila again with our children now that they are older. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

    The quality has dropped way too much...

    No amenities in the Room. Hair in the washbasin. No coffee in the Room. Dinner was extremely disappointing. In the past, there were thoughtful touches such as water and bread refills, but this time there was nothing at all. No smiles—just passing by briefly (Japanese staff). At breakfast, they seemed focused only on clearing things away as if rushing us out. We were so disappointed that we decided there is no longer any value for us in staying at Alivila again.

    The Facility is old, but it is well maintained and the service was excellent, so we were very satisfied. The breakfast buffet was also great. The private beach was clean and uncrowded, which was nice.

    Taxi Shuttle Service Plan is available.

    The Plan with Taxi Shuttle Service made getting around extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t enjoy the views, but both the Room and the service were excellent. One disappointing point was that I asked the club desk to order a takeaway box and requested that certain items I don’t like be removed. However, when I received it and tried to eat, it included grilled pineapple cooked together with the meat, so I couldn’t eat it. It’s a small detail, but I hope this can be improved in the future. For breakfast, I chose Japanese cuisine and enjoyed it very much. Above all, having Taxi Shuttle Service included was my biggest highlight.

    We were blessed with great weather.

    We stayed for two nights during the first half of Golden Week. The ground-floor Room with a private garden offers direct access to the pool and beach, but you may need to leave the windows open when going out, so it’s worth considering this when choosing your Room. Please note that there is no ocean view at all; however, there is a beautiful lawn, just as shown on IKYU’s Hotel page. While some aging is noticeable in the Facility, everything was clean enough, and the meals were delicious. We had no concerns at all about how the staff treated us. At low tide, you can walk quite far out into the sea right in front of the Hotel and see beautiful fish in their natural habitat. It was a very fulfilling two-night stay. Thank you very much.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. At first, I was disappointed by the limited and dated amenities, but the delicious breakfast, the powerful jet spa, and above all the close proximity to the Blue Cave made me very satisfied. Also, the nearby restaurants were excellent.

    A Space to Free Your Mind

    This was my fourth stay here. After arriving, taking a leisurely stroll through the patio filled with colorful flowers is when an extraordinary time begins. From the Room terrace, looking out over the patio, the pool, and beautiful Nirai Beach is truly soothing. At night, sitting by the pool and enjoying the illuminated scenery while feeling the pleasant breeze is pure bliss. This Hotel is full of spaces where you can forget everyday busyness and spend truly fulfilling time! It’s a Hotel you’ll want to visit again and again.

    Wonderful

    I’m a repeat guest. The Facility is old, but the warm hospitality more than makes up for it. They also offer a taxi Shuttle Service from the airport, and you can rent a car as well, which is very convenient. The view is outstanding.

    The Finest Hospitality

    I stay here every year, and each time I’m impressed by the outstanding hospitality. The building itself feels a bit old, but the staff’s service is so wonderful that it doesn’t bother me at all. Every time I leave, I immediately want to come back again, and I always feel that way. See you again next year!

    Enjoy swimming year-round in the heated pool at our partner Hotel.

    This time, our Room faced the courtyard with the hammock, and I woke up to birdsong. Listening to the waves and birds while reading, lying on a chair or hammock at Nirai Beach, taking a walk around the grounds—just enjoying the luxury of doing nothing—was truly relaxing. It was too cold to swim in the sea or Alivila’s pool, but being able to use the heated pool at Mercure Cape Zanpa Hotel was a great benefit, as it means you can swim year-round. It was also nice to warm up afterward in the sauna by the indoor pool. One disappointment was that in the past, even with “no cleaning,” we could still receive bath towels, but this has changed and they are no longer provided. At other hotels, towels are usually provided even with “no cleaning.” Also, we were told that whether to set out the hammocks is decided based on the weather at 9:00 a.m., but I would appreciate it if staff could check conditions every few hours and respond more flexibly. The breakfast and dinner menus at the Hotel never seem to change, so it would be nice if they were updated about once every six months. With more hotels in the area now, I think it’s safer to make Reservations for restaurants or hotel dining when planning your schedule. I travel for an escape from everyday life, and Alivila’s foreign-inspired exterior and interior atmosphere—and even its signature scent throughout the building—help me relax deeply. That sense of fulfillment when I leave each time is why I keep coming back.

    A Hotel that makes you feel like you’ve come back to your vacation home

    This Hotel warmly welcomes you with familiar staff, making you feel like you’ve come home to a villa in Okinawa. The view from the balcony overlooking the blue sea and a patio filled with blooming flowers is outstanding. The “Verdemar Night Time” initiative is a great idea—I tried it right away. An expanded cocktail menu would make it even better. During this stay, the weather was unfortunately poor, almost as if the rainy season had begun. In the past, during a typhoon, you opened up the table tennis area and held a special treasure hunt; I would love to see similar indoor activities not only for typhoons but also for any bad weather—such as pop-up mini live performances—to keep guests entertained inside the Hotel.

    Nirai Beach was wonderful.

    This was my 10th trip to Okinawa, but my first stay here. I stayed for three nights and used a rental car. Thanks to IKYU, we were treated to Moët & Chandon at dinner, which was a wonderful surprise. We also received 20% off activities, which was a great deal. However, most activities in Okinawa are quite tough for seniors, so there aren’t many options beyond things like banana-boat rides or the zipline (Sun Marina—currently under construction), which was a bit disappointing. Nirai Beach was truly beautiful, with the shoreline stretching out beside it—it was fantastic. Unfortunately, I dropped something very important and felt really down about it. Even so, thank you to everyone at the Hotel for sharing the information internally. (I still haven’t given up on the lost item… I’m hoping for a miracle.) A few things I noticed inside the Hotel: the elevators are slow, and there was an item I wanted to take my time looking at in one shop, but it ended up being closed every day from the next day onward, which was disappointing. Also, while the patio has a lovely tropical feel, you can’t hang swimsuits or similar items out on the balcony. People who change without thinking may want to be careful— I don’t think anyone can actually see in from outside, but I couldn’t help feeling like they might (lol). Breakfast offers three choices; Sawa (Japanese) was quite good (and their shabu-shabu dinner is also recommended). The popular buffet was nice too, though it was a little disappointing that there wasn’t any seafood or ice cream—maybe that’s how they differentiate it from HanaHana. Despite an unfortunate incident, we had a very enjoyable stay overall.
