The meals, baths, and service are excellent.
The meals were wonderful. Absolutely the best. The service was outstanding as well! You can really tell the difference at an Accommodation with experienced staff! The baths were also excellent. That said, I could sense that the concept is being adjusted throughout the building to better match the times. I assume it is still in the process of fine-tuning.

The Best Onsen Getaway
Although this is a historic Onsen Ryokan, the property is impeccably maintained throughout, and we felt thoughtful attention to detail and quality in every corner. Our family of four enjoyed a truly wonderful stay with dinner and breakfast included. Above all, the Room was fantastic! It was very spacious, with plenty of room for each of us to relax comfortably, while also being perfect for gathering together as a family to chat and enjoy tea and sweets. The in-room beverages were also well stocked—the coffee and tea were excellent—and of course the private open-air bath in the guest room was amazing. We had both dinner and breakfast in a private dining room. The staff member who took care of us was highly professional and kind; everything from the timing of each course to the explanations of every dish and overall service was flawless, allowing us to enjoy our meals comfortably from start to finish. And finally, the greatest highlight here is definitely the Onsen! There are many different types of baths on site—so many that we seriously discussed “the best order” to try them all (laughs)! We were so busy enjoying the Onsen that we didn’t have time to relax with drinks in the lounge. That just gives us an excuse to come back. In short, our family of four thoroughly enjoyed this stay with dinner and breakfast included. The Room, cuisine, service, and Onsen—all exceeded our expectations. This Accommodation comes highly recommended for anyone who loves hot springs or wants a relaxing time at an Onsen Ryokan. We would love to stay again!

Wonderful hot water
The hot spring water was simply wonderful—silky and never too hot, so you can soak for as long as you like. The spacious property was spotless, and even during peak season it still felt private. With great use of space—like the table tennis room and pool—it keeps families entertained. I’d love to visit again.

For your first stay at Sagakan
The Ryokan and Room were clean and well maintained. There were seven baths, and we enjoyed the Onsen. The water quality was excellent. Meals: We had some concerns, but the sashimi, simmered dishes, and grilled items were very carefully prepared and delicious. View: The Kano River view from the Room was outstanding. It rained, but we can only imagine how much more we would have enjoyed it if it had been sunny.

Hot Spring Accommodation
Surrounded by pristine nature, I could listen to the gentle murmur of the stream and feel at one with nature in the open-air bath in my Room, spending a truly relaxing time. Just as you would expect from a hot-spring Accommodation, I fully enjoyed the three private baths, the large hinoki-wood bath, the jacuzzi bath, and the open-air rock bath. The dinner and breakfast served in a private dining room were delicious, featuring local vegetables and fresh seafood. The chilled drink served at check-in—tea with lemon and honey—was wonderfully refreshing in the heat and tasted great. However, the floor plan provided in the Room was small and hard to read, so I would have liked a larger, clearer map showing where each bath is located.

I was able to forget...
I was able to forget everyday life and enjoy an exceptional stay. What impressed me most was the cuisine. We stayed for two nights, and there was no repetition in the dinner menus—each evening brought a new delight. Beyond the wonderful flavors, the seasonal touches and beautifully refined tableware made it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The person who served our meals, as well as all the staff, were attentive and thoughtful. The Room was also luxurious yet relaxing, and both the hot spring water quality and the location were outstanding—I felt completely refreshed. I would love to visit again.

Always excellent.
I stay here 2–3 times a year, and every time I’m impressed by the delicious meals, the service, and the Onsen. When I visit, I usually stay for 2 nights and 3 days, and I can truly relax at a leisurely pace—I’m extremely satisfied. I’ve been to many Onsen Ryokan, but this one is without a doubt the best!!

Something has changed.
My parents and I were very tired, and we were looking forward to a restful day at the Onsen. We visit a few times a year, but this time—perhaps due to staff shortages or cost-cutting—the quality and service felt different from usual. There are many Room types, but we were assigned the same Room as last February. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to try different Rooms, but this is a very nice Room. It’s close to the front desk and convenient for getting to the baths, so perhaps it was chosen out of consideration for my parents. From the moment we entered, there was an odor like sweaty feet. I asked my mother and she said she noticed it too. I suggested asking to change Rooms, but she said it was fine, so we decided to stay. Then my father used two sheets of tissue in the guest Room and it ran out, so during dinner we asked our attendant to replenish it. When we went to the private bath, it seemed we were after international guests (the bath name and time were written in Roman letters), and trash had been left behind in two changing baskets. They also hadn’t used the foot-drying towel—perhaps they didn’t know how—and it didn’t feel pleasant. We left right away. Hoping to share what could happen again in the future so things could be improved, I brought the trash to the front desk and explained what happened. However, they responded along the lines of “Maybe they just forgot. Thank you for going out of your way,” without seeming willing to listen seriously, so I returned to our Room. The staff at the entrance of the breakfast venue also felt different that day, which was disappointing. That said, the food is outstandingly delicious—so good that it completely outweighs these minor complaints!! The greenery from our Room and the open-air bath in our Room are wonderful as well; everything feels incredibly refreshing. I know running a Ryokan is truly demanding work. I sincerely hope Sagisawakan will remain a wonderful place for many years to come.

Completely satisfied with everything!!
I stayed on May 30, 2026 (Room “Arashiyama” on the first floor). What impressed me first was the spacious Room and its well-appointed setup (complimentary beer, tea, and amenities—everything you could want). I felt there was thoughtful attention to every detail. Next was the number of baths. I used all three private baths; among them, “Kura-no-Yu” had such a large tub that I couldn’t believe I could have it all to myself. However, since there were so many other baths as well, I wanted to try those too and didn’t end up relaxing as long as I would have liked—which is my only regret. The in-room bath was also relatively large and spacious, and it felt wonderful to open the sliding door and let in fresh air. Both dinner and breakfast were served in private dining rooms, so I could fully enjoy the meals without worrying about other guests. The dishes showed clear creativity from the head chef, and I was very satisfied. The guidance to my Room was courteous as expected, and after that they respected my privacy while still being attentive so I could relax. If possible, I’d love to come back for a Multiple Night Stay and take my time enjoying everything.

The finest hospitality, the finest cuisine
I have stayed in many luxury Ryokan and Hotels in Izu, but this was a top-tier Ryokan. The hospitality, cuisine, and baths—everything was outstanding.

We had a wonderful time.
The meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and we really enjoyed them. It was very close to Joren Falls, but we were able to enjoy a variety of things without relying only on wasabi dishes. Some parts of the Facility feel a bit dated, but I think the living areas such as the Room and baths were fine. The table tennis area was a little disappointing because the walls were damaged and moths were flying around. I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility in the hours of use for things like morning coffee and the private bath. On the way to the large public bath, it becomes very slippery when it’s raining, and I fell and ended up with a bump on my arm. Overall it was very comfortable, so I’d like to visit again during the autumn foliage season or when it starts snowing. Thank you for your hospitality.

It’s been a while, but this is still a great Accommodation.
This was my first return in six years, and the staff service is excellent. They are friendly in just the right way—polite, welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful. The Facility has aged a bit, but the comfort is unchanged. And the Onsen is outstanding: plenty of hot water and, of course, free-flowing from the source. The large public baths at both ends of the building are great, and the open-air bath in the Room is top-notch as well. The meals are always delicious; in particular, breakfast feels wonderfully luxurious. Using hometown tax donations (furusato nozei) as an accommodation subsidy is very convenient.

Excellent cuisine
I was truly impressed by the carefully prepared, health-conscious meals. It felt like all the ingredients considered good for the body were included—and they were delicious. Also, everything I mentioned as lacking in the questionnaire after my previous stay had been improved, which impressed me as well. Thank you very much.

It felt like the meals were even more delicious this time. The attendant who served us during our meals provided excellent service—thank you very much for taking such good care of us. With just one night, it’s hard to enjoy all the baths without feeling rushed. We’ll be back again. It was a very satisfying stay.

Arashiyama
I have stayed at Sagisawakan several times, but I couldn’t book the Arashiyama Room on my preferred dates. After a few years, I was finally able to stay there. The Room was spacious and had two sinks and two toilets, which was very convenient because we didn’t have to wait for each other. Since the Room is large, I would like you to add a massage chair. When I went to the area where the massage chairs are located, one unit was out of order. Also, because it faces the hallway, it’s hard to relax and use it comfortably every time. The open-air bath was also spacious and included a reclining bath, so we could relax in the in-room open-air bath without using the other large public baths. However, since the washing area is in the same space as the open-air bath, it feels very small. As with other Rooms’ open-air baths, I think it would be better if the washing area were separate. Because it’s outdoors, it felt cold even in May—so it must be much colder in winter. I’m also concerned that sudden temperature changes could increase the risk of heat shock. The amenities were unchanged as usual; I would appreciate having HABA products available. I brought my own ReFa hair dryer and straightener from home, but it seems only Arashiyama offers a ReFa hair dryer for loan. We stayed as three people, so one person slept on a futon. Since they have lower back pain and futons don’t provide enough support (the hips sink), they weren’t able to improve their back pain with Onsen as hoped. It would be helpful if you could provide an Airweave or Muatsu mattress. The meals were very delicious. Compared with other Accommodation options, we were satisfied with both the taste and portion size. It would have been even better if there had been a sake tasting set. I’d love to stay in Arashiyama again, so I’d be happy if some improvements are made by then.

A Trip for Two: Parent and Child
The Onsen, Room, and facilities were all very clean, and the meals were served at just the right time and were delicious. I was able to relax with my daughter, and the terrace was especially comfortable. Next time, I would like to stay again in a different season. Thank you very much.

We hope for improved service.
At Saga Sawakan Kurasu, I think the drink selection in the lobby and the post-bath lounge could be a bit more substantial. The coffee was not very good. Also, I’m not sure it’s ideal that guests have to bring bath towels from their Room. The outlet by the washbasin was too far away and inconvenient to use. The flower arrangements in the lobby, garden, and around the property were lovely, but it was disappointing that many other aspects did not match that level. At some Ryokan with attentive service, they even prepare coffee for guests when they leave. The Onsen is great, so I hope you will keep working to improve.

Completely satisfied on our second stay!
We stayed last summer and our whole family was very satisfied, so we came back again. This time our Room was “Saga,” and we enjoyed a relaxing time gazing at the Kano River from the spacious veranda-like area. As always, both dinner and breakfast were simply outstanding—there’s no other way to describe them. We were moved once again by the care put into each and every dish. With an Onsen and cuisine that suit our family perfectly, Sagisawakan is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

Delicious meals!
Both breakfast and dinner were very delicious, and I was especially impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the refined seasoning. Overall, the dining experience was highly satisfying and is a major highlight of this Accommodation. There are many baths, and having private reservable baths was a welcome plus. However, the atmosphere and interiors of each bath felt fairly standard, so they didn’t leave an exceptional impression. I also felt that higher-quality amenities and in-room items such as hair dryers would further improve satisfaction. The Room itself has a simple interior, but it was clean and comfortable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the in-room open-air bath. Overall, it is a good Accommodation, but considering the price, it didn’t exceed expectations by a wide margin and felt slightly expensive. It is highly recommended for those who want to relax at an unhurried pace without any pretense.

This was a truly wonderful Accommodation. The cuisine, the Onsen, and the hospitality—everything was top-class. The meal course was beautifully presented and well balanced, from the first dish to dessert, and every course was exciting. There are also many Onsen baths, making it perfect for Onsen lovers—you’ll wish you had more time! Since check-in starts at 2:30 PM, we recommend arriving right at check-in time. All staff were kind and wonderfully attentive, and we would love to visit again.

Rediscover the Beauty of a Japanese Ryokan
We stayed a total of three nights: two nights in a Japanese-Western style Room on the 1st floor and one night in a Japanese-Western style Room on the 3rd floor. The open-air bath in the Room was perfect in both size and atmosphere. We were soothed by the sound of the river and the song of bush warblers. Overall, it’s a truly wonderful Ryokan—spacious, clean, and quiet. The large public bath, Rooms, service, and everything else were all excellent, but what stands out most is the food. It’s a Ryokan you’ll want to return to in every season.

Many fresh flowers throughout the property
The building feels a bit old, but it is well maintained, and the fresh flowers displayed throughout make it clear that this is a well-cared-for Accommodation. Even when an Accommodation looks lovely, there are often many artificial flowers, so I really appreciated this thoughtful touch. This was my third stay, and for the first time I stayed on the second floor. As expected, the view is great. The Room was clean and spacious, and the bed had a comfortable firmness—making for a very pleasant stay. I ended up using the reservable bath three times, so I was fully satisfied with both the in-room bath and the private baths. Every dish was delicious—filling and truly satisfying. The tableware was also beautiful and enjoyable to look at. There are coffee drinks available in the lobby as well, but since this Ryokan is long from side to side, it’s quite a walk even just to get to the baths. Since you tend to spend more time in your Room, I felt there could be a bit more provided. Thank you very much.

A Distant Onsen
The food is delicious and the Onsen is wonderful, but the building is long and the baths are quite far away, which is a drawback. This is one of my favorite Ryokan, but since I no longer drive I go by bus, and it’s a shame that the bus service is infrequent and not very convenient. The other day the bus didn’t arrive on time and I had to wait 35 minutes. It seems to be due to the Kawazu cherry blossoms season, but it’s tough when the weather is bad. It would really help if there were a Shuttle Service... Still, I’ll do my best to visit again and look forward to enjoying the delicious meals.

Unfortunately.
I love the baths here and visit often. This time as well, I was able to relax and truly enjoy them. The food was delicious, but usually each dish is brought out with a careful explanation, and the next course arrives at just the right time after we finish. However, this time there was hardly any explanation from the hassun onward, and the next soup course was brought while we were still eating. Since we were in the middle of our meal, there was little to no explanation. Before we had even finished the soup, the sashimi course arrived; there was at least a brief explanation of the fish, but overall that was how dinner progressed throughout. The flavors were excellent, but it reminded me that dining is about more than taste alone. There was a menu provided, of course—but it felt like a very rushed dinner. For breakfast as well—has refilling okayu been discontinued? I love okayu and have always had seconds in the past, but this time there was no mention of it. Also, we were told dessert would be brought after ringing the bell; however, we did not ring it, yet dessert was brought anyway while we had not fully finished eating, and dishes were cleared away one after another. Whenever I stay here, I feel healed by both the baths and the fresh flowers. It’s a Ryokan I truly love and would like to visit again, so I would appreciate it if you could kindly ensure that meals can be enjoyed at a more relaxed pace.

We stayed here as a family.
We stayed with three families to celebrate my father’s retirement and my mother’s 70th birthday. Our group was: one Room for my parents, one Room for my family (2 adults, including 1 pregnant woman, plus a 3-year-old), and one Room for my younger brother’s family (2 adults plus a 1-year-old). Beforehand, we called to ask whether all of us could have dinner and breakfast together in a private dining room, and we were told it was possible—so we decided to Reserve this Accommodation. The staff service felt more friendly and casual rather than the very formal style you might expect at a luxury Ryokan. The private dining room was fully enclosed, with chair seating on a wooden floor. It allowed us to relax without worrying about disturbing others even if the kids got fussy or the adults got lively. The cake and flowers we ordered in advance were arranged beautifully, and we were very satisfied. They also provided samue loungewear for our 3-year-old son, along with children’s slippers and a toothbrush. There was also a diaper trash bin in the Room. For meals, we made a Reservation without a separate children’s meal plan and shared from our own dishes; however, they kindly provided Anpanman furikake seasoning for him, and he also received plain rice. The open-air bath in our Room used Onsen water even for the shower. Perhaps because of that, my skin felt great the next day. The amenities were L’OCCITANE—and when I looked them up later, they turned out to be from an excellent line as well. I stayed here when I was seven months pregnant; the samue pants did not feel tight at all, so I slept comfortably. For adults, both samue loungewear and yukata are provided. There are many baths on site, and my parents happily discussed which ones to try. They also adjusted the menu thoughtfully for pregnancy-friendly dining. We Reserved an Ise lobster sashimi Plan; after they explained that it could be lightly cooked on an iron plate as well, I was able to enjoy it too. Overall, this Accommodation was considerate toward adults, pregnant guests, and children alike; the Onsen quality was excellent; and the cuisine looked gorgeous and tasted wonderful. We were extremely satisfied and would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

I had a wonderful, refreshing stay.
This was my first trip to Izu. As soon as we arrived by car in the crisp, clear air, several staff members came out to welcome us. They quickly loaded our luggage onto an adorable wicker pram-like cart and carried it for us. The requests I had discussed by phone in advance—such as borrowing the parking lot before check-in to visit a nearby temple and then checking in afterward—had been shared among the team, and it truly showed how much they value every guest. We were guided to a comfortable, chic lobby, completed check-in while enjoying warm citrus tea, and were then escorted by our attendant. They kindly explained details such as the long layout of the building along the river and the seven baths, which made everything easy to understand. At both dinner and breakfast, we enjoyed their explanations and conversation, which added so much color to our one-night stay. Both meals featured carefully selected ingredients, with thoughtful creativity that was fun yet never overdone; all the way through dessert, my palate, heart, and stomach felt completely satisfied. The sea bream takikomi rice at dinner was so delicious that I ended up having seconds even though I was full (even the fried tofu was amazing). All of the sake paired beautifully with every dish, and they had chosen bottles that can only be obtained around this area—my husband, who loves sake, was deeply impressed by their refined taste as well. While maintaining a warm and relaxed atmosphere, the staff’s professionalism came through strongly at every moment. During our conversation, the nakai’s words—“We want to preserve the culture of Onsen Ryokan”—really stayed with me. I could feel how sincerely everyone is working together to embody that spirit. The water was never too hot; it warmed us through, and we were especially satisfied with Kura-no-Yu and Kawa-no-Yu. We didn’t manage to try them all, so that will be something to look forward to next time. Because the open-air bath in our Room is free-flowing from its source, it was beautifully clear; bathing while basking in the sparkling morning sun moved me deeply. From the hospitality, Onsen baths, cuisine, architecture, and flowers displayed throughout, we were truly touched and able to spend a luxurious time there. I learned that true refreshment only happens when your heart is genuinely moved. It was my first time using IKYU, and since we couldn’t decide until close to departure whether to drive or take the train depending on snowfall conditions, we really appreciated your thoughtful updates about weather and access right before our trip. We are so glad we chose Sagisawakan (Sagasawakan). Both my husband and I were truly impressed. To everyone at IKYU and everyone at Sagisawakan (Sagasawakan), thank you very much.

A variety of baths and a relaxing time
The accommodation offers multiple onsens within the facility, allowing guests to enjoy them at different times of the day. The room's bath was an open-air onsen and felt incredibly relaxing. There were also many private baths available, so I would like to reserve a different one next time. It is an accommodation where you can forget daily life and spend truly relaxing moments.
