Strong dissatisfaction with the routes during bad weather and the lack of hospitality.

[Rooms & Amenities] The toilet flushing noise in the Room was unusually loud and echoed throughout the night, which was very bothersome. Also, despite having six thoughtfully designed private baths on the premises, only one bath towel per person is provided in the Room with no spare. For a resort where guests may want to enjoy multiple baths, this feels inconvenient. That said, the yukata provided with a “cicada and olive” pattern was truly lovely. My husband, who is from Aix-en-Provence in southern France, also said “the choice of this design is wonderful,” and we would have bought tenugui towels or handkerchiefs as souvenirs if they had been sold with this pattern. [Baths & Facilities] During our stay there was heavy rain, and to reach some of the private baths, the smoking area, and even the dinner dining venue, you must walk through completely outdoor areas—so you end up soaked just from moving around. The lack of covered walkways or sheltered routes is a serious flaw; staying on bad-weather days becomes very stressful. We also found the system inconvenient: to check availability for a private bath, you have to go all the way there in person to look at an indicator light. If a modern system were introduced—such as being able to check real-time availability via an app on a smartphone device provided in each Room (as at some Hotel properties)—it would eliminate unnecessary back-and-forth. On a positive note, the shop sells works and goods made by local artists; it felt like an attractive and excellent initiative. [Dining] Both dinner and breakfast felt very average—neither particularly good nor bad—and there were no memorable dishes or moments that impressed us. Considering it presents itself as an auberge-style property, we found dining satisfaction lacking. [Service] The staff were polite in their language and demeanor and seemed kind; however, it felt like they lacked genuine hospitality. Even when we arrived at dinner completely drenched from heavy rain, there was no flexible consideration such as offering towels to dry off or suggesting dry replacement yukata. We had no choice but to start our meal while wet and cold, which was disappointing due to the lack of attention to guest comfort.

    Auberge Village neve...

Auberge Village never disappoints, no matter when we visit. The staff are kind and friendly in just the right way, and every meal is delicious. It was quiet and truly relaxing. We couldn’t make it last year, so we’re glad we could come this time. We’ll definitely be back!

Thank you for a wonderful and comfortable stay!!

Due to various circumstances, I hadn’t been able to visit for quite some time, so this was my first stay in about two years—but it was still an Accommodation that left me completely satisfied, just as always. From the Shuttle Service onward, everyone was kind and helpful, and after arriving the stay was truly comfortable—warm and homey—and I was able to relax at a leisurely pace and unwind from everyday stress. At check-in I was told, “Our sommelier is on duty today.” I love wine and always look forward to dinner here, and this time the sommelier came to my table and kindly explained many things in detail to someone like me who’s simply a wine lover without much knowledge. Just listening and imagining those explanations while drinking made it an incredibly enjoyable time. Of course, every dish was delicious as well. Thank you for your thoughtful care even though I was traveling solo. I felt lucky that my stay happened to coincide with a day when the sommelier was working. This Accommodation always makes me feel a little sad when it’s time to leave—and from that very moment it makes me think, “I’ll work hard so I can come back again.” I will definitely stay again. Thank you so much for everything!!

I was able to relax and enjoy a quiet stay.

Since it was midweek, it wasn’t very crowded. Thanks to that, I was able to relax and enjoy the private bath. As always, the food was delicious—especially the white asparagus soup, which was outstanding. There is a potager behind the Hotel, and I saw several fireflies by a nearby waterway. In this season, I also look forward to watching them fly around. I really love this adults-only Hotel with its hidden-retreat feel.

    A Favorite Place

Although the management and staff have changed, I was a little worried, but it is still a very comfortable Hotel, just as before. It’s my favorite place. I will continue to stay here again and again.

A Night You’ll Want to Return For—Perfect for a Retreat

We stayed at Aupa Village for our first trip together as a couple. When we first arrived, I felt a little uneasy, but the top-class hospitality, wonderful baths, incredibly delicious dinner, and charming Room made it one of the most memorable Accommodation experiences I’ve ever had—I was truly moved…! This time we couldn’t visit all the baths due to time constraints, but next time I’d love to try and complete them all. If you’re considering staying here, I highly recommend choosing a Plan that includes both breakfast and dinner. You absolutely won’t regret it. Whenever I find myself thinking, “I could really use some healing in my everyday life…” or “I want to be soothed by great food and relaxing baths…,” this is a Hotel I’d gladly travel just to stay at. It was an extremely worthwhile stay. Thank you so much.

    Thank you very much.

We wanted to enjoy a relaxed meal, so we visited after reading the Reviews. Both the dinner course and breakfast were delicious, and we were truly very satisfied. Every member of staff was full of hospitality, and even in small conversations we could feel their thoughtfulness, which made for a wonderful time. This time we came as a couple, but next time we would love to visit again with our daughters as well. Thank you very much.

    Highly rated accommodation

For dinner, I chose the sirloin steak as the meat dish, but for me it was a bit too fatty and cooked too rare. Other than that, the appetizer, soup, fish dish, and dessert were all delicious, with refined ingredients and seasoning. It was also nice to be able to dine at a relaxed pace in a private room. Breakfast left a great impression as well, featuring dishes that made good use of local ingredients such as fresh vegetables, tofu steak, and amazake with brown rice. They even provided a bag so we could take home the bread we couldn’t finish. The Room was a twin on the second floor facing the pool, with a great view. It was clean and comfortably sized. One of the beds was slightly small but not inconvenient, and the colorful yukata added to the tropical mood. The bath could be reserved for private use, so I could soak and relax. Since I was tired, it was disappointing that I didn’t get to try any baths outside the accommodation building. The original smartphone pouch I bought at the shop had great taste and was reasonably priced. I will take good care of it. I heard that the Accommodation name “Opa” was coined by a famous author whom I like. That sense of style came through even in details like this. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with high satisfaction. Thank you very much.

    Excellent cuisine and exceptional service

We stayed for two nights as a group of four, including my daughter and her husband. The highlights of Opavillage are, first and foremost, the cuisine, followed by the heartfelt hospitality from the staff. On the first night, we chose the standard "Nice" course, and on the second night, we opted for the more luxurious "Monaco" course. Both featured carefully selected ingredients, meticulous preparation, and perfectly timed service. The wine and alcohol were reasonably priced yet high quality and enjoyable. On the first day, we selected from a list of glass wines; on the second day, we requested a pairing of three types chosen by their sommelier to ensure no overlap with our previous selections. The "Monaco" course upgrades include lobster for fish dishes and filet cuts for meat dishes (with other courses also enhanced). If you're considering upgrading beef in the "Nice" course with an additional charge anyway, splurging a bit more on the "Monaco" course will likely increase your satisfaction. The bath is not an Onsen. Many faucets require manual temperature adjustments which felt inconvenient to use. There were enjoyable features such as a manga book corner, a souvenir section focusing on crafts, and (likely) New Year-exclusive quizzes to enhance your stay. Unfortunately, there were some disappointments regarding facilities, rooms, and amenities. While both cuisine and hospitality were excellent overall—these alone couldn't compensate entirely for other shortcomings during our stay in their “Mini Terrace Twin Room (1st Floor・50 sqm)” option: noticeable wear like inconsistent refrigerators/TVs between rooms or poorly fitted doors stood out negatively here too! Amenities-wise: towels lacked quality & quantity unless specifically requested beforehand—even though this should've been one among Opavillage's best room categories available—it left us feeling let down instead due gaps noticed elsewhere throughout accommodations provided e.g., drafts entering through gaps; insufficient soundproofing allowing wind/rain noises audible indoors; dim lighting inside spaces without proper makeup-specific illumination near dressers forcing reliance upon bathroom mirrors instead when applying cosmetics alongside impractical closet/drawer designs taking longer-than-expected hot water delivery times causing sandwich-effect issues arising repeatedly etcetera altogether detracting further away overall experience ultimately leaving impression renovations haven’t kept pace adequately enough addressing these concerns comprehensively moving forward effectively improving guest satisfaction levels long-term basis accordingly

    Reward Stay

I chose this Hotel as a reward for a year of hard work, looking for a place that offers an esthetic treatment package. The Facility is not new, but it is well-maintained and filled with a warm atmosphere. The staff welcomed me with wonderful smiles and excellent service, allowing me to spend heartwarming moments. The baths were varied and all private, which made it relaxing and enjoyable.

    Relaxing Time

We stayed for one night as a couple in late December. We enjoyed a very relaxing and peaceful time. With only a few rooms and separate buildings, we didn’t feel bothered by other guests at all, and the private bath allowed us to unwind completely. The food did not disappoint—both the meat and vegetables were incredibly delicious. The bread was especially outstanding, with the peanut bread being the highlight. Drinks were reasonably priced, which added to our satisfaction. Additionally, the staff had a calm demeanor that made us feel very relaxed; some even resembled celebrities in an amusing way. At this seaside hotel, we experienced such tranquility that we ended up sleeping deeply for hours! We’ll definitely visit again when we need an escape from city life.

It was an accommodation similar to a pension. I visited in winter, but I think the summer resort season would be better for enjoying the sea and pool.

    Adult Summer Vacation

I visit every summer to enjoy the easy-to-swim pool here. The guest rooms and facilities are old but give a cozy feeling, like visiting grandma's vacation home. The full-course meals are very filling, starting with appetizers and heavier cream-based dishes along with bread. Even as a big eater, I was too full to fully enjoy the meat dishes—that’s how generous the portions are! The reception staff were pleasant, and I look forward to coming back next year.

    A Wonderful Vacation

I took the train and used the Shuttle Service. There’s only one shuttle per day, so the schedule is limited, but it’s free, which is very helpful. As soon as you arrive, your vacation begins! Some people were relaxing by the pool or on hammocks; since the crowd was slightly older, it was quiet and peaceful. Our Room was on the first floor, with a private bath right in front of us. Everything was close by, so we enjoyed all of the private baths available. Dinner time finally arrived! It was served in a small private room where we could enjoy our meal quietly. The food was delicious except for some slightly tough meat. Alcoholic drinks were reasonably priced too—we each had one drink to enjoy. The pool stayed open until 9 PM, so after dinner my daughter and I sneaked in for a swim. It felt a bit awkward during daytime hours with others around, but at night we had it all to ourselves—lucky us! Breakfast was also delightful; they even let us take some bread to go—a thoughtful touch. The garden behind the property was beautifully maintained with plenty of flowers blooming everywhere. We also encountered a neighbor's cat there—my cat-loving daughter couldn’t have been happier. The nearby beach is within walking distance too—we fully enjoyed our vacation here! We’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

I wanted a Multiple Night Stay.

Thank you for your hospitality. I wanted to enjoy all the baths, but I got a bit lightheaded in the wine bath and couldn't try them all as the timing overlapped with others during the morning bath (though I did take a peek at all of them). The size was perfect for two people to relax, and we had a wonderful time. The fact that the accommodation is limited to adults made it very peaceful and enjoyable for those of us who have finished raising children. All the staff were lovely and kind, and we are truly grateful. We only had breakfast this time, which was delicious, but next time we would love to try dinner as well. I apologize for not properly expressing my gratitude at checkout. Thank you so much for providing such a relaxing and wonderful experience!

The quality of the meals is excellent!

We stayed during the Mountain Day long weekend. Both the French dinner and the breakfast the next morning were meticulously prepared and of high quality. The facilities, though showing some age, were well-maintained and clean, with comfortable bedding. The room was also more than spacious enough. It felt more like a resort villa than a hotel—perfect for those planning to enjoy activities as their main focus during their stay.

    Very comfortable, just like France.

This was my second stay. During the peak of summer, I enjoyed a relaxing time by the poolside under a parasol. Dinner was a full-course meal starting at 5:30 PM, and the quality of ingredients and preparation was excellent. Before I knew it, two hours had passed as I enjoyed a leisurely and delightful dinner. At breakfast, an international guest was being assisted, but the staff's voice was very quiet and hard to hear. When asked about cold soup or something else due to the heat, I chose cold soup but later realized from observing others that clam chowder was the other option—it was disappointing not to know earlier. The food is truly outstanding (even during busy seasons), so I hope quieter staff members can practice and improve their communication skills! The surrounding flower gardens have an atmosphere reminiscent of Monet's house in Giverny, beautifully maintained. The baths were varied and enjoyable as well—I look forward to staying here again!

It was pouring rain with strong winds! (lol)

I had a relaxing stay. The baths are available in different buildings, allowing me to enjoy several types and soak at my leisure. The cuisine was of an exceptionally high standard, meticulously prepared. Although I didn’t get the chance to greet the chef, their skills were outstanding. The refined dishes were truly soothing, and the attentiveness of the hall staff was excellent. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, I couldn’t go for a walk. To the younger staff members—keep learning from your seniors and do your best!

    The meal was delicious.

It was my first visit. The sautéed foie gras was fresh and delicious. The soup was at the perfect temperature, and the lobster was fresh and plump. Both the venison and beef fillet were perfectly cooked, showcasing the chef's skill. The venison was processed immediately, enhancing its flavor, and the fillet was melt-in-your-mouth tender with excellent marbling, indicating a very high-quality meat. The wine was reasonably priced, and both the white and red were delicious. The glasses matched perfectly. Breakfast was also delicious. I will visit again.

    Energy charge complete!!

This is a property that always welcomes us warmly. I first used this property during the COVID-19 pandemic, but this time, without masks and with the acrylic at the front desk removed, I was able to directly feel the smiles of the staff, which made me even happier. As always, both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with a full course of luxurious double main French cuisine for dinner. I enjoyed it with a wide variety of wines. I will work hard and come back to stay again. Thanks to you, I was able to recharge my energy. Thank you for taking care of us.

    It was a satisfying anniversary.

The staff's hospitality and thoughtfulness were excellent. We were very satisfied with the food. We were also able to enjoy a relaxing bath. However, the water pressure in the shower of the open-air bath was weak, making it a bit difficult to wash our hair. It was also unfortunate that the Room had a slight musty smell. Since there are no convenience stores nearby, having vending machines would be even more convenient.

A Relaxing Adult Summer Vacation Stay

We visited in mid-July as a couple. It was truly tranquil, yet we were able to spend a luxurious time. Since we traveled by bus from Tokyo, we used the shuttle service from Tateyama Station. The journey was very comfortable without the worry of driving or alcohol restrictions, and we fully enjoyed lunch and a stroll around the station area. The private bath was larger than expected, and we enjoyed a relaxing bath time as a couple. You can use all the baths at your leisure until checkout, as they are always available, and the changing rooms are well-equipped. It's also a nice point that all the baths have amenities like showers and shampoo. We went to the pool right after checking in. The scene of palm trees and parasols dancing against the blue sky was full of resort vibes, and the shaved ice and drinks were adorably presented, which was satisfying. We also walked around the potager and garden, which were at their peak of greenery and beautifully lush. It's fun to imagine the day's meal while looking at the herbs and vegetables being grown. The handmade swing and Rhône River add a playful touch. The food is naturally delicious. The breakfast, especially the homemade bread, local charcuterie, and egg dishes, was exceptional. For dinner, we chose Ajimu sparkling wine to match the dishes, and the gentle Southern Boso French cuisine was delightful, even for our tired bodies. However, perhaps because we were used to rich and distinctive French cuisine, it felt a bit too safe, so next time, we would like to upgrade the meal. Still, considering going to the pool or hot springs afterward, a dinner that doesn't leave you feeling heavy or too intoxicated is probably best. The room overlooking the potager had charm both inside and out, allowing us to stay as if we were living there. There were times when it felt a bit humid as the air conditioning couldn't keep up, but this could be attributed to the abnormal weather and our overexcitement. For two days, we enjoyed the town, indulged in the pool and hot springs as much as we liked, and had excellent meals, making the price quite reasonable. The staff were kind, and it was clear they worked with a professional attitude without being pretentious. It's the best auberge where we definitely want to visit again for relaxation.
